Poor Service at Lowe's Store #18303 -- Pro Customer Lost To Executive Leadership at Lowe's, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the customer service I received at your Lowe's location at 18303 Rim Dr, San Antonio, TX 78257. On Wednesday, my wife and I purchased approximately $2,000 worth of appliances. We specifically chose Lowe's over Home Depot because we were told that Lowe's could match the price and deliver the appliances sooner. The salesperson assured us that delivery would be today, Saturday. That promise turned out to be completely wrong. We subsequently learned that the appliances will not be delivered until next weekend. Had we been given accurate information, we would have made a different purchasing decision. Then, last night, I purchased a $30 pair of construction gloves at the same store. I purchased them expecting a quality product that would hold up to normal construction work. Within approximately two hours, the seams had already begun unraveling. By the six-hour mark, the gloves were essentially unusable. I returned to the store to exchange or return them. The employee at the service desk agreed that the gloves clearly should not have fallen apart within hours and appeared to understand why I was requesting a return. However, when she contacted the manager by phone, the manager instructed her that the gloves could not be returned. What makes this particularly disappointing is that the manager couldn't even be bothered to come to the service desk and speak with me personally. Instead, I was left standing there while the employee relayed the manager's decision over the phone. That is not acceptable customer service. I am a Lowe's Pro customer, and this is not a case of losing an occasional retail customer. My business involves flipping homes, and we routinely purchase several thousand dollars' worth of materials for each project. I specifically chose Lowe's because I expected the Pro relationship to mean something. Instead, within the span of a few days, I experienced: A sales promise regarding delivery that was not honored. A significant appliance purchase that now has a delayed delivery. A $30 pair of construction gloves that failed within hours. A manager who refused a reasonable return and would not even speak with me directly. As a result, Lowe's has lost my business. Going forward, our material purchases will be going to Home Depot. The Garden Center is more helpful than what I received today in side store. I was needing a outside door map. 1st person directed to Kitchen area, not outdoor mats. Went over to where two people standing at rug. Window treatment area. Neither even asked uf I needed help. Called store abd AI attempted to call department. But no one answered. I go back to where I saw staff, now 3 were chatting. I asked for outdoor entrance rug. Pointed to 40 aisle. I walked to aisle, kept walking to back wall. Walked by employees again. No knowledgement, no question asked if I found what I needed. I bought a rug, but it was mot what I was looking for. Will see if it will work, if not returning item. Terrible customer service. I had an interview scheduled for 6:15, and I arrived 10 minutes early like they requested. I was asked to wait, and after 30 minutes I was taken to the back and told someone would be right with me. I ended up waiting another 30 minutes with no update. When I went out to ask about the wait, I was told, "You gotta be patient with me, bro. If you gotta dip, then dip. I don't care." The way I was spoken to was very unprofessional and made me feel like my time wasn't valued. I understand things can get busy, but communication and respect go a long way. I had one of the worst retail experiences I've ever had with Lowe's. I ordered a bathroom vanity and scheduled delivery for 10:00 a.m. I waited all day, only to be told around 9:00 p.m. that the driver had gotten lost and my order would not be delivered. The next day, I called expecting them to make it right. Instead, I was told the earliest they could reschedule was two days later. At that point, I decided I wanted a refund instead. That's when the real frustration started. Lowe's uses a third-party delivery company, and the process became a complete runaround. Lowe's told me I had to contact the delivery company to cancel my order. The delivery company then told me someone from Lowe's would contact me within 24 hours to help cancel it. Neither company seemed willing to take ownership or resolve the issue. As the customer, I was left bouncing back and forth while everyone pointed the finger at someone else. When you spend your hard-earned money, you expect a company to stand behind the service they sell. Instead, it felt like once Lowe's had my payment, customer service became someone else's problem. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. If you're purchasing anything that requires delivery, be aware that you're dealing with a third-party company, and if something goes wrong, getting help may be far more difficult than it should be. I had 4 super friendly people ask if they could help me as I walked through the store. And the checkout girl was sparkly and helpful. Great customer service all around! Yesterday at this at this location I brought to the cashier's attention that I was over charged for the items. She asked me to get her a photo of the price tag, which I did. She was not convinced. She called another employee to double check. Again I walked to the end of the store, this time with the employee following me. Again, no luck. Both employees treated me as a suspect. Let's forget about the fact that we spent over $5k on a fridge back in October with promises to deliver in January then February then March then finally arriving in late April. I understand that this probably isn't an issue with Lowes but the supplier. The real issue is that when it arrived and was broken and had to be returned (with a replacement 6 months out, so no thank you) that it took 15 phone calls with 8 promises to call me back to resolve the refund. Want a refund on the warranty? Take another 4-5 calls and huge hold times. They do NOT answer the phone - 20-30 minute wait if you are lucky enough not to get dropped. If the stars line up and you actually talk to someone (Customer Service, Appliances, etc) then they tell you how busy they are and then get your number and do not call back. If this was a once in a while issue I get it but this occurred regularly over days. It doesn't matter what time you call. For even more fun, go to the store and watch them pick up the phone and hang it up. Watch them put people on hold then talk to the other associates and completely forget about the call. I've been a contractor for years and while this was a personal purchase it makes me never, ever, ever want to get an appliance or anything else that might require after-market service from Lowes. Lowes sucks. I have never had a horrible experience with a company before. We ordered two washer and dryers and they were supposed to be delivered on the 6th. No one showed up. Then they came on the 10th without one dryer and the two stackable kits. Then they came back on the 12th with one stackable kit. They were supposed to come back on Friday the 14th, no one came. Lowe's knows nothing about customer service. They sent undocumented workers into my home to deliver a dryer and install it. They spoke no English. The first thing they did was break a corner off my wall because they were too dumb to remove the old machine first. They then connected the dryer. They left without plugging the dryer in. They also left the gas line leaking and the water line for the steam function leaking. I had to redo the entire installation. When I called and complained they took months to get back with me. They offered me $119.00 to repair the wall. The wall is plaster. The least expensive bid I got was for $790.00. I even showed them the estimate. Told me the $119.00 is all they will pay and take it or leave it. I left it. I'm now writing these wonderful reviews about them. Don't be foolish. I won't buy a stew from them again. read more

I ordered a very expensive Kamado Joe grill in store. Because of its size and the size of my vehicle, I asked about delivery and set-up. Because of the price it qualified for free delivery and assembly. Raven helped me with my order and though she was very pleasant and helpful (which is the only reason I'm giving 2 stars), the process to find out if it was in stock was more long and drawn-out than it should've been. I was finally able to get the delivery set up for this past Wednesday after waiting nearly an hour. The two days leading up to the scheduled delivery, I received and confirmed it 3 times. A bit excessive, but I felt assured that the delivery would go off without a hitch because of how many times they required me to confirm it. Wednesday's scheduled window came and went and no grill was delivered. I called the delivery line and was told something went wrong at the store and it was never picked up. They said they had no other details, but that the store said I needed to be transferred to them for more information. He did and the line rang and rang for nearly 15 minutes before I hung up and called the store directly. I spent an entire hour attempting to reach someone in store, but the lines just rang incessantly. My husband and I drove the 15 minutes to the store to find out what was going on. We got there and had to wait 20 minutes because 3 employees insisted on tag-teaming to help 2 people. The assistant manager saw us standing there and instead of asking to help us, she went to help a woman who was already being helped by another employee. Raven, who helped me last time, called for a manager when I finally got to her and a "floor supervisor" called Tim came to help even though the assist. manager, Mari, was standing right there. I relayed the story, my irritation, and asked why no one bothered to call us to tell us it wasn't being delivered. No one had a reasonable answer and no one could tell me when it would be delivered today. Today arrives and I get a phone call at 8AM that it would arrive today with no other information. I called 4 hours later to get an update and was told it would arrive between 11 and 1300. The CSR told me she would have the delivery crew call me right back with a more accurate ETA. They never did. One o'clock came and went and nothing. At one-thirty the crew arrives and the driver calls me from the truck to ask me where the grill is supposed to go and what's the best way to get it there. From the truck! I told him things would be a lot easier if he actually got out of the truck to speak with me face-to-face. He did and we finally got our grill. We'll never go to this Lowe's again. It was an all-around infuriating experience. Home Depot or any other Lowe's is better than this one. read more

Lowe's is always my choice for certain maintenance supplies. Today I went into the lawn and garden section to buy 15 heavy 24x24 concrete pavers. Within seconds of walking in I was greeted and asked if I needed help by Aaron and Ryan. I asked Ryan about a specific paver and he knew exactly where it was located and guided me there. Both were in the middle of relocating pallets of mulch from inside to outside but they stopped what they were doing to bring the fork lift to the paver section and load them onto my truck. I work in the service industry and I require my staff to deliver the highest level of customer service at every point of contact and both of these young men exceeded my expectations for a Maintenace supply store. The cashier was also very helpful with looking up my Lowes credit card info since I didn't have my actual card with me but I decided to pay with a different form of payment. We were told they would call us to set up a new delivery date for a dent free dryer. No one called. When we called, the woman said either Sunday, if they had a cancelation otherwise it would be Tuesday after 5. We waited for the delivery notice call an hour or two before they are arriving. The Lowe's at the Rim has TERRIBLE customer service. We purchased approximately $1200 of merchandise for a remodel. It was difficult to find anyone to assist us with large items - 2 bathroom vanities, a propane grill and a vent-a-hood. At checkout, there was one station open for an associate to check you out. We were second in that line after attempting the self checkout, which did not work. We stood in line for 15-20 minutes. People behind us were backing up because the self checkout stations were not working. Then, Amanda, started checking out the person behind us. I told her we had been waiting in line, in front of that person. She was VERY rude, and ignored me. Alishia finally checked us out. I asked to speak to a manager. She said she did not know of any managers at the store. I found a very competent employee, John G.. He said there were 3 managers at the store and did call for one of them to talk to me. However, no manager ever came to customer service. John G. offered to help load the merchandise into our truck. He found another employee to help him. He was VERY helpful. Thank you!! Purchased a refrigerator on Lowe's and they scheduled a delivery date. We called delivery in the afternoon - day before delivery -and were told that delivery was scheduled. Lowes called in the early evening - the day before delivery, Lowe's called and said refrigerator was not in. (Several other stores in the city had the refrigerator "in stock." Numerous calls (call expires after several minutes of wait time) were unanswered. Once we got someone who was going to check, but never called back. This is my last time at Lowe's.
