This is a PSA for folks who have earned the option for a military discount. I never take advantage of that when shopping/dining at mom & pop, and other small businesses; however, I will ALWAYS do it at big box national chains/restaurants/etc. After decades of use at Lowe's, I was told the discount did not apply on clearance items? Apparently the item I purchased that clearly had a placard identifying it's price was on, 'clearance.' I am not one for misplaced anger--ever--so I purchased the item and headed straight for customer service. Indeed, the harried folks at the counter told me the exact same thing. My question was a simple one: 'Why?' The manager then said, 'Okay I'll try to run it through, but it's not going to work.' A short moment later, his flushed red face looked up at me and said, 'Wow, it took?' The three counter folks stared at me in disbelief like I had just parted the Red Sea. I thanked them, and wished them a wonderful holiday season. Moral of the story folks--is what ol' Ronnie Reagan said: 'Trust...but verify.' The benefit, itself, is not massive. This was my first experience as a new homeowner with Lowe's -- and it will also be my last. I spent nearly $3,000 at the Sprague Ave store for a washer, dryer, and an over-the-range microwave with delivery and install. What I got instead was over a month of frustration, wasted time, and poor treatment. Aug 11: Dryer was delivered dented, installed with feet of extra vent hose, and the crew refused to install the microwave even though it was clearly paid for and confirmed on my receipt. They argued with my wife in a condescending way, forcing me to leave work early to come back to the store. When I called customer service, I was told it was somehow my fault for not setting it up properly. Aug 27: Microwave installer opened the box to find the unit completely crushed. Instead of replacing it and finishing the job, he left. I then spent over two hours on the phone while the store repeatedly hung up on corporate support. Aug 30: I had to personally haul the crushed microwave back into the store to arrange replacement. At the same visit, I had to start a dryer exchange for the damaged unit. Sept 3: Microwave was finally installed correctly -- nearly a month after my purchase. Sept 6: Replacement dryer was scheduled for a 5-9 PM delivery. At 7:30, I discovered it was never even loaded on the truck. Now pushed to Sept 8, which means I must take unpaid leave from work just to supervise. Throughout this process, store staff have refused to provide regional manager contacts or escalate the issue, telling me to "just call customer service," the same number that has wasted countless hours of my time. All I wanted was what I paid for: new, undamaged appliances, delivered and installed as promised. Instead, I've been left with damaged products, botched installs, endless reschedules, and financial harm from lost work time. If this is how Lowe's treats first-time customers, I can see why so many people go elsewhere. read more

Took my 93 year old father to garden department today 8/22/25. He was looking for a shrub he already has. The lady that helped us was LYNNDA, you are lucky to have her she went out of her way to make sure we were helped. I have never been so impressed with customer service she is the best! Went to the store today to pick up a couple of items, the store employee who assisted me would not allow me to use my military discount, as it was allowed for certain days. When I showed him my military ID card as proof of military service, I was informed that my military ID card was not proof of service, Lowes policy was that I needed a State Issued Driver's License. I was cussed out when I stated that a military id card was real ID, how can you support the troops when your employees can call a customer a M--F-- idiot. He would not give me a reason for Lowe's policy of refusing to accept military id. All I can think of is DISCRIMINATION, and he didn't really want to assist a veteran. When I asked for a manager, I was informed that he was not in. There is no sign and/or notice what identification that is accepted by Lowe's. I would like to thank NO Customer Service Lowe's to allow employees to call members of the Armed Forces a M--F-- idiot, it's because of the members of the armed forces that guaranteed him the right of Freedom of Speech. If this is the way you think of members of the Armed Forces, I would hate to see the way he's allowed to talk about the police. Best bet is to go to Home Depot across the street, they're just a little friendlier. read more

The employees are purposefully unhelpful, and I've seen them run the opposite way of customers looking for help. No cashiers at the front aside from one poor person trying to run all the self check out lane. This place just sucks. Prepare for mediocrity at best. read more

Lowe's has the most unhelpful uncaring employees around, you go into a store looking for something,have a question, see a employe, and they run in the other direction, if you can find a employe, usually there standing in a group of 2 or 3 talking avoiding interaction with customers,i avoid Lowe's the best I can. read more

If you need to buy something like a garage door opener and need to have it installed, do not get it done by Lowes. I was told the installation was set for 12th at 6pm. The day and time passes, no installer arrived. I call up Lowes and they give me the name of the installer company that was supposed to arrive. I call that company up, they told me that Lowes never informed them that they were hired to do the job. They reschedule and the garage door opener is partially installed, to be completed on the next scheduled available business day. That day rolls around, the installer does not show up, I contact the company and they say that Lowes had cancelled the contract without warning, so they cannot complete the installation because they will not be paid. I call up Lowes and they tell me that their system says the contract has not been cancelled. Who is telling the truth? Who knows. I am now stuck with a partially installed garage door opener. read more

Appliance buyer beware! On Day 3 of the No Call/No Show installer, and "customer service" at the store (once one gets through the maddening automated triage) has had me holding for ten solid minutes. I came in here looking for snow blowers, or rather gathering more information about them (you can only do so much research online until you actually have to go look at them). Not a great time to look for a snow blower just after the first big snow of the season, but when you need one, you need one. Bud, the friendly clerk, starting chatting with us and gave a lot of great information. If you are unsure about what you should be buying or don't have a clue about snow blowers, find Bud. He probably has a wealth of other information about various products in his store, too, but I didn't really get past the snow blowers. Note the difference sizes in the tires. I'm thinking that bigger, fatter tires would just do better. Lowe's has some snow blowers with little skinny tires and others with big, fat ones (I'll let you guess which ones is more expensive). Although we didn't end up purchasing a snow blower yet (hoping the snow will go away isn't probably the best plan), I liked the customer service here and will be back when I need other home improvement items when I'm in the freezing north. read more

If zero was an option I would not even give them one star... There is never any staff available to assist in the store and it is impossible to reach them by phone. I just tried to call them on the phone for an hour... First I was on hold for 1/2 hour waiting for kitchen cabinets then I was transferred to the main desk who transferred me back to kitchen without bothering to check if anyone was working there today. After calling back and getting disconnected 4 times, I found out the kitchen person had called in sick today. So then I asked for a store manager & got disconnected 3 more times. Tried to call corporate but they are in the eastern time zone and therefore closed so I gave up. Bad products, bad service, and infuriating phone system. DONT SHOP HERE IF YOU CAN HELP IT! read more

Back in July of this year we decided that we wanted to do some home renovations, so we went online to the Lowe's website and put in our information and explained what we wanted and within an hour somebody called us asking us if we were available for an associate to come out within the next two days to take measurements of our home and to show us more options for what we wanted. You know a two day turnaround with somebody coming out that's really quick in my opinion. Well the associate comes out, measures what we want done and shows us a catalog of things that we can choose from. Well, a couple days went by, and we hadn't heard anything from Lowe's so we reached out to the associate to help us and be sends us an invoice of what it could potentially cost to have our renovations done, but if we didn't like what he picked, then we we had to pick out exactly what we wanted from the catalog he left and sent him the information. This all took about a week to get done so still in our head real like OK still not bad he just needs to place the order and then they'll tell us when they can install it. From there it turned into a 2 Week wait and the company that was going to do our installation ended up calling and said that we would have to pay first and then they could move forward with the installation. So in the middle of August, I paid over $3000 to have this installation done and I asked the associate when we were expecting to get our installation to be scheduled and she says it looks like September 1. You would think that after paying $3000 and being told that our installation is going to be on on September 1 that that's what would happen. Well it's not. September 1 came and we didn't get any notification that anybody was coming so I called Lowe's. Asked them hey, what's going on the Associate on the phone ended up telling me that our order had never been processed so our doors were never pulled from the stock that they had and my order wasn't complete and I told him that I already paid for the installation and I was expecting them to come today and he said unfortunately that won't be happening. I asked when I can expect the installation to happen and he said we don't have the item in stock and you'd have to wait for it to come from another store from Coeur d'Alene, and it should be here in two weeks. I kept track on my calendar and I called basically every other day getting updates and the associate said sorry it looks like it's going to be pushed back another week. I voice my concern that nobody has been updating me that I was the customer and I had to constantly call to find out updates but them, the company have not called me to let me know anything. The associate apologized and said that's not the way that they handle things and that he would route my concern up to management. I don't think it really ever got there because it took me calling for another two weeks to figure out where my part was and to express, how unhappy I was about this. And we're now rounding the end of September and I call Lowe's and ask for a refund on my installation the associate says OK I can put that request in and it's going to take up to 48 hours for a manager to get a hold of you to confirm and to give you your refund so I said OK that's fine. 48 hours later I get a call from a manager saying oh your doors have been in for the last three days OK so why is it that when I called 48 hours ago, It still showed that my parts weren't in, how come when the parts arrived nobody called to update me to tell me hey, we can schedule your installation now. Them not processing my paperwork should've been the first red flag and I should've canceled then, but I had already spent the money and I just wanted the job to be done. When the manager called and he wanted to know if I still wanted to cancel my order if I wanted to proceed with the installation. I told him you know what forget canceling my order. When is the soonest that these can be installed, he said that he would have to call the company doing the installation and it expedited. Well, two days go by nobody calls about the installation and when I try to get it scheduled the company says that some other associate has to schedule my installation. so I waited for the next day and then my husband up calling and then they scheduled right away. Upon asking if this was a normal experience from Lowe's and this installation company we were told "No", Lowes is actually very bad about getting things processed and scheduled. Needless to say after three months of waiting. We finally got our installation done. Yes I'm happy with the installation but no I'm not happy whatsoever with Lowe's the company and how they handled everything. from now on, we will be going with small companies who want to have a good reputation associated with their name and care about the customer satisfaction. read more

Worse customer service EVER! Manager at the Spokane Sprague store Mikel, is an absolute ass. Lowes online shopping a joke. It doesn't matter what you order ie: 25' sink, Lowes accepted my order and money then shipped the 33" that they had, apparently 25" is not available until Jan 2024. DON'T SHOP HERE. Try to call one of the Spokane stores. They will not answer the phones. I have been in the store when they get calls and every employee I watched picked up the phone and immediately pushed the hold button. I was desperate and held for 45 min, 2 different times. A nice store, I was impressed on the way in, but then there were no cashiers...just 2 hosts leanin, chillin, gigglin, and laughing as people walked out...until i approached the register, then girl hawked on me and searched my items, then stood over my shoulder scanning ME like i didn't know what i was doing. if there's a theft problem get cashiers and hosts that can do their job, not mine as the cashier if you want me to be the cashier..... I own a fourplex and used to buy all of my appliances through Lowe's. Unfortunately, I will no longer do business with them. Their customer service level has declined drastically and my latest purchase was the last straw. I ordered a washer and dryer to be delivered on May 25th. I paid for the "haul away" option so they would take my old appliances. When the delivery men arrived, we realized that one of the doorways I had planned on having them use was a bit too small. I told them I would need time to prepare another route. They said they were late to their next stop (they had showed up earlier than I had been told), so I said if they unloaded, I would put them appliances in the house. They did so, and gave me a number to call so the haul away could be done later. It has taken me 25 days to get this scheduled. Numerous times, no one answers the phone. The first time I got someone, the guy promised to call me back and never did. The second time, a different man said "I don't think we do that. Let me connect you to customer service." No one ever picked up. The third time, someone scheduled a pickup for 6/13. No one came or called. Then today, I was put on hold numerous times and then scheduled for July 2. The person doing the scheduling didn't seem to care that it took me three weeks and half an hour to schedule a pickup 13 days from now. I am a patient guy. I don't expect perfection, and I know retail is a tough gig. However, I used to work it, and on my worst day I would not have treated someone the way these folks have acted. I also know that there are limitations due to the pandemic. Again, how about a little understanding? I guess that is in short supply. I am done with Lowe's. There is a Home Depot a quarter of a mile away. I will take my business there, and I urge you all to do the same. in case you're wondering why I gave two stars, it's because the price on the w/d pair was decent. read more

My wife and I are house flippers... so we are at lowes and home Depot 10 to 15 times a week. So this review is not based on a single visit experience.... This Lowes location is actually the closest to our current project, but we drive 15 minutes further to the east valley store. The east valley location is better staffed, more educated staff, and just overall a much better experience. Time and time again we have tried the Sprague location, and at least 75 percent of the time we leave frustrated and head to the east valley location. 2 weeks ago... for example... we were in need of paint... we waited 25 minutes for someone to help us AFTER the first time they were paged. And we weren't the first in line. They constantly tell us they don't have something in stock, when their stock says the have 6 or 8 in stock... they just don't feel like looking, so you have to edge them along to find something... very frustrating. I'm not saying we don't shop at lowes... we do... like I said at least a dozen times a week... just not this location! read more

I had a good visit to this Lowe's this week. All their outdoor plants were on sale, the inflatable Halloween ghouls were in full spooky effect, and most importantly, all their staff were really nice. I had a strange shopping list which included things like: fun noodle, leather stain, tile, rugs, storm doors, Miracle Grow. I found everything except the leather stain. Great prices on rugs here! $34 for a 5x7. Staff helped me to car and were kind to me and my kids. read more

Do not waste your time here! I have gone to this store off and on for the past three years and they consistently provide horrible service. Trying to get any worthwhile advise from them is sketchy. Here are some other examples of their worthlessness: Last week, I was there getting patio materials and stood as I was punted from one person to another (we stopped counting after the 4th person was sent to help us) This week my brother and I decided to see what one of their classes had to offer. So we went to the "how to tile your floor" class. We were told by 5 people 4 different locations of the store! I'm giving up on this place and going across the street to Home Depot. read more

This is probably our favorite Lowes location. We have never experienced any problems with customer service or price matching at this location and they always have the best selection on exterior doors and screens. We were able to purchase the exterior door and screen on clearance which saved us a couple hundred dollars which means more money to spend on Christmas plus they also have their Christmas decorations out but this time they also made it fun to take the kiddies down the aisle to see all the lights and inflatables! We even saw a sign which pointed to Santa!! Was he there?? I guess you'll have to see for yourself!! As always, great prices, great selection, and for me, always great customer service!! We purchased 40 retainer bricks April 30th. Couldn't take all of them home at time of purchase, so we scheduled to pick the remaining 30 bricks by tomorrow, May 3rd. We got a truck and two helpers and went to Lowes to pickup the bricks today (a day ahead of schedule). Lowes had sold the bricks! They DID NOT offer to tell us when the next shipment would arrive. They DID NOT apologize for selling what we had already paid for. What they did do was refund the balance of bricks we didn't get. And rush us out the door. I won't be shopping at Lowes again. I do a lot of gardening and am currently doing four major projects. Looks like Home depot will be getting our business. read more

Order was not ready, THREE customer service employees standing around (no customers) ignored me as I stood in front of the register; then said no one was there to pull the morning online order now until 6pm. I said I would pull it myself; TWO power equipment employees also doing nothing but talking and watching me pull my own order and place the heavy lawn-mower in my cart (no help). Then went to ring out and the customer service employee would not ring me out because she could not cancel my online order that was not ready!!!!! They cut 27 sheets of Masonite for me, and even better than that, when my truck broke down in the parking lot Stanton and Bill went way out of their way to help me out. Let me begin by saying I prefer shopping at Lowe's over Home Depot most of the time. I am new to the city so I was looking to purchase a new washer and dryer. Costco has the same washer and dryer set for about $100.00 cheaper. After reviewing Lowe's price match policy, I went in to make my purchase. Lowe's policy indicates that they will pricematch Club Warehouses if the item is in stock. Costco.com had the item in stock. I walked in, talked to a really polite gentleman that was willing to take the steps necessary to accommodate my purchase. His co-worker interjected and insisted that they do not price match costco, and I had to be able to go pick it up that day even if they did. That is out the window because Lowe's didnt even have the item in stock at their location and was being shipped out of Portland, it would have been me essentially comparing lowes.com to costco.com, and their policy does not state that, it just states that if it is in stock. Costco delivers in 1-2 weeks just as Lowe's would. After a little more resistance I decided not to waste my or their time and just go to Costco. Poor overall experience, customer service does not work this way. You validate, work with your customers, and find common ground especially if they've taken the time to arrive with all the necessary details to complete a purchase.e read more

After purchasing carpet to have installed in March I am still waiting on the job to get completed in July. Their installers are the worst, Flooring Northwest. To do a bedroom and 12 steps it took them over 10 hours. The job was sloppy and I took photos to complain with Lowe's. The next guys weren't any better as they tore up my transitions. So again the original installer came out and realized he never stapled the carpet down or trimmed the edges. So still waiting on transition to be done but they were a no show and since rescheduled and surprise another no show. Avoid getting any flooring done with them. read more

THINGS HAVE CHANGED AT LOWE'S! My initial review was as low as low could get but since then the department personnel have changed & TRISTAN WAS AMAZING! His manager was also helpful. Our refrigerator/freezer died the Friday before Christmas. Not only that, it was counter-depth & a bit shorter than a bunch of those out there. Tristan spent time on the phone with me, checked measurements, said if I could get there before 2pm & it was in stock, he'd get it delivered the next day -- AMAZING SERVICE. When I got to Lowe's he paused his conversation with a co-worker, made sure he had a unit that would work & got me scheduled for delivery the next morning. Not only that -- I don't live in Spokane & Lowe's & Tristan still made it happen. The delivery guys were friendly, efficient, removed the broken frig/freezer with no damage to the floors & got the new one in & running in very short time. Thanks Lowe's & thank you Tristan for all you did on a very busy day right before the biggest holiday of the year. read more

Lowes always has what I need, has a great selection, plus I like the store layout and friendly customer service! This evening I picked-up some lumber for a small ramp. The employee was a great help, choosing some quality boards for me then cutting them to specs. Kelly, manager I believe from the tool section, also offered very beneficial assistance with some outdoor plants, for which I am very grateful! This is my 'big box' store of choice! I just wanna thank the on-line department for all their hard work and going above and beyond to make sure that I got the product I ordered on-line. There was a mix up with their inventory and the department manager did his best to resolve the incident. He could've just refunded me my money and been done with it, but he searched the surrounding area and found what I ordered and transferred them to his store and when I went to pick them up the poor kid behind the counter was busting his butt cause someone called in and he had a great attitude and was very quick professional and courteous. Thanks you guys and Merry Christmas the sale was amazing and worth the 2 hour drive from Tri-Cities to pick it up cause they're not available here or anywhere in eastern Washington so the fact the department manager found 2 for me was awesome my kids will have a great Christmas thank you very much Lowe's read more

They didn't even connect the new refrigerator up. We spent a total of 5 hours on hold with them just so we could get someone out here today to get the old refrigerator. I would give negative if I could. After waiting for help, and then being told "I don't know and I can't find someone who does" we were scolded to "stay in the aisle" til he found someone. We decided to buy that part from Amazon. Next, we went to get a small interior door. After telling the gentlemen over and over what we wanted, and having him show us doors we didn't want, it took over a half hour just to get the lift to get it down. All the while he was coughing like crazy (as were a couple other employees unmasked) and didn't listen to a word we said. in the end, we put down everything we were going to buy and walked out-an hour + wasted. Ordered Samsung washer with delivery. Price and product are good. That is the reason for 2 stars. What was bad was the delivery. I called the store this morning to verify they would call and give some sort notice before coming out. They said "we call 30 -45 minutes before arrival". I work 2 miles away from my home. Not only did they not call, they did not ring my doorbell (which would have alerted my phone). Came home at lunch to find 200lb washer sitting on my porch. It just takes one bad experience for my to stay exclusive to Home Depot. read more

So now, instead of going to Home Depot first, we come here first. I'm sure there will come a day when Lowe's doesn't have what we need. I have been trying to get my rebate for a roofing project we did for weeks. It should not be this difficult. The rebate submission email was never sent to me. Now we are weeks after the project and I am having to call the install office over an over to check on what is going on. I have texted my sales rep multiple times with no reply. I typically likes Lowe's for my home improvement items. Today we were trying to pick up an on line order and it took a really long time. I am ok with that but the poor clerk was really sick and should have been home getting well. I wish businesses would support their employees and protect there customers.
