This was my first time attending a free kids' event at Lowe's. Online registration is recommended but no one was turned away. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an apron & googles alongside of the activity kit. Each activity comes with a patch to iron on their apron. There were lots of parents & kids yet only 1 employee. Customer service wasn't ideal but I can only imagine how overstimulated the individual was. We completed the activity in 30 minutes & would still return next month. I received some helpful advice from John regarding a doorstopper for my kitchen. He took the time to.explain to me which might work best. I also bought some paint and dis not have to wait very long for assistance. They made the right color the first time based off a paint chip I had brought with me.. Checkout took longer than expected. as the Christmas season approaches, I was on the hunt for the perfect Christmas tree. I went to quite a few places and the prices were a little bit nutty. I went to get a cheap pot for a plant and some potting soil. I wasn't sure where to go as I walked in, so I ran into a staff member and he was very polite and helpful, asking me what type of pot I was looking for and sending me the right way. I found what I was looking for in a few seconds....I found someone working in the patio department and I was able to ask further questions and I got very helpful answers. I found a plastic pot for a few bucks and the smallest potting soil bag was about $5. Very happy with the selection and service here. read more

My mother's fridge died on her and rather than getting someone out to diagnose her 8 year old fridge, we decided to get her a new one. It had to have a water dispenser and ice maker. We looked at other stores but their prices were either outrageous or they didn't have them in stock. We FINALLY found one here that they actually had in stock and we are set up for delivery on Tuesday! Our salesperson, Ed, was very helpful in answering our questions. The staff from the moment we walked in the door all greeted us. Our visit was only to get a few copies of keys made so overall it was a short one. While we were trying to figure out where it was, we came across this machine that makes the keys for you. It was really impressive actually! You simply insert your key, the machine will show you what keys and designs are available for purchase with the prices, and after you pick it the machine starts to make your new key(s). You can pay at the machine with either cash or card making the experience convenient. In love Lowe's in general for their Valspar paint selection. We had a nice, short visit. read more

Lowe's is just like Home Depot but with different stuff. I generally use Home Depot if what I'm doing is more like construction and Lowe's if it's more cosmetic. If that makes sense. Lowe's is laid out in a way that appears to be cleaner and more inviting than Home Depot, which makes it easier to see how something will look in the home. But I find them to be comparable in pricing and in the lack of people on the sales floor. If you need help, you're often on your own. This one is convenient to my house, so I'll keep coming back. read more

This Lowe's is located on University dr and Oakland Park. As relatively new home owners we are always making small home improvements to our house. But this time we decided to do something a bit more substantial than your average switching of light fixtures and what not. We are in the market to changing all of our interior doors and so we wanted to compare prices between the two big home-improvement stores. We came in to this particular Lowe's because we were in the area. We usually shop at the one in Coral Springs. As a matter of fact I really liked this store. I have always found that Lowes is like the Target of home-improvement stores. They carry nicer things and the stores themselves are a little neater and they have better presentation overall. I was also looking for wood to make some shelves for an armoire that I am restoring. I found exactly what I was looking for but unfortunately their cutting machine was down. However, the trip was not a loss. I did find an amazing ceiling fan for my son's room. He has been begging me to get him one for a little bit. I did not order the doors. I decided to go with Home Depot but I did find all the other things that I needed besides that. Employees were very helpful and we didn't have to wait a whole lot for people to come and ask us what we needed. The employees were very rude. It was like pulling teeth trying to get them to get me the drop ceiling tiles from the top shelf. Their response was "it's gonna take a while" and "we're not gonna be carrying them much longer"..."I got a find somebody with a forklift"... Absolutely ridiculous. I had to ask the lady three times just to get her to call the person with the forklift. Literally her biggest complaint was that I would have to wait for somebody and she didn't wanna have to call them for me. What a freaking joke. My husband walked in with a return of an large heavy item of which the size was wrong. A store clerk actually called him baby. She actually refused to help him. Next day, husband took it to Lowes store in an area far away from "dat" one. Have been going to the Lowe's in Sunrise Florida since it opened. Not as crowded as Home Depot across the street. Although the store is nice and clean it is impossible to find staff to help. I was sent from one area to another three times and still no body could help. Finally an employee who was in front of the store helped me and found the product I needed. As stated the store is very nice and the location excellent. They have almost any thing you need and the staff is friendly. The problem I saw was lack of staff and the staff they had were not knowledgeable because they were new employees. I hope Loews can fix this issue because it is frustrating as a customer. The worst. Had a dryer break on us. Bought one on Monday with guaranteed Tuesday delivery. Got a call Monday night that the "wrong truck" was delivering on Tuesday for an appliance. I'd be first on Wednesday. Got a text this morning that I was the "next delivery". Four hours later, outside their window, they delivered the dryer. It is a broken dryer and can not be installed due to a nut backer not being on the plug receptacle. I've been on hold for a half hour. One lady came and said hello after 20 minutes and then put me back on hold after repeating something to someone in her presence. Crappy store. read more

Discrimination on high level! I came to the store to get some plumbing parts for my house once when the issue was solved I realized that I can return the leftovers. First the store worker was rude after few word she called for the manager who seems to be more helpful in first minutes but then she said because I'm from foreign country she can't give me store credit, but she took the merchandise from me! I had to actually interrupt a personal argument between two of them were having just ask a question about whether something was in stock. There's something deeply wrong with upper management at this location of Lowe's. I do Home Remodeling and honestly many of my friends and I go to Lowe's because there are too many people at Home Depot next door. But the staff in general, when you can find somebody, are uninterested rude and are very unwilling to help a customer. If I were to list the horrible customer service I've experienced this review would be pages long. Sitting at returns with one person talking to somebody else as you wait is frustrating. Three times I went to purchase linear feet of AstroTurf. I spent 20 minutes and could not find anyone to help me and that is not an exaggeration. On the third visit I was there at 8:00 and at 9:00 ( the time they closed just after the pandemic), someone did try to help me. They unstrapped the role of AstroTurf I wanted and the entire roll started unrolling down to the floor until it all had dropped off. My friend and I helped the employee try to roll up the mess but it took up the whole aisle and we needed more people to be honest. My friend and I measured out the 20 linear feet that I needed cut it ourselves and put it on two cards to take to the checkout. We found a guy walking by to get a ticket with the amount to take to the register and he just looked up and gave us the price on the very thin cheap green indoor outdoor rug. The price was about 15% of what the actual price should have been. It was now 9:45 the store had been closed no one was there to check us out no one was anywhere. We loaded the AstroTurf into the pickup and took off. Another visit I was returning a purchase I made online I had the purchase order my email the packing slip and the person that returns had no idea how to return it and actually told me that she could not return the item. She walked away and I thought she was going to get another person to help her but after waiting another 10 minutes I saw her sitting on the paint counter with another employee laughing. On a huge remodel I was using certain switches and plugs and face plates and they never had what I needed in stock or it wasn't placed in the right location and no employee could help me with anything I actually had to order online. Other occasions similar service spoke to the store manager and no one seemed interested. Now at self checkout you can literally just walk out with your cart because the employees by the door are facedown into their phones not paying attention to anything. We came here post hurricane Irma to get some supplies to fix our fence that was slightly damaged. This is a standard Lowe's for sure. It wasn't too busy, but I'm sure pre hurricane this place was packed. We had a question about some tools and found one associate but he walked by us real quick and said I'll be right with you I'm helping two customers. We never saw him after that. We bought the product but found out it wasn't the right size we needed so went back to try to return the item and there were about thirty people in the customer service line. Luckily, we decided to keep the item and buy another product to make sure it fit. In the end, this is a typical Lowe's I'm sure they're busy because of all the hurricane things. They were missing a lot of wing nuts which is the main reason why we were there. Overall, this experience here was okay, nothing spectacular. I purchased a brand new refrigerator; it was supposed to be delivered between 5:00pm & 9:00pm instead the delivery men arrived at 2:00 pm & called to let me know he's at the house; I had to rush home. The refrigerator water dispenser is leaking non-stop; I called the store to complain and the representative told me I should place a container to catch the water for the next 3 days, since the next technician available the next day even though the BRAND NEW refrigerator is leaking. The representative said they will be here sometime before Saturday then he hung up without telling what time the technician is coming. I had a dishwasher installed from the store in September. The discharge pump failed so I called Lowe's they had somebody to my house within two days to look at the dishwasher and informed me the pump had failed. This will be a warranty replacement. I know sit here 24 days later with rancid water and food stinking up my house because this Lowe's was so incompetent. I've been on the phone with Samsung and Lowe's corporate offices more than eight times over the last two weeks. The Lowe's corporate office took an hour and 15 minutes to be able to get in contact with the store, the management team at this store is absolute trash. Can rarely find employees to help. When you find an employee they're usually chatting in a group and if you try to ask a question they usually scatter pretty quickly. The one on SR 84 has much better service. The website is often incorrect as far as in stock items also. read more

I got screwed at HD, not Lowes! I had been to Home Depot twice in early August to find screws for a door. BOTH times I left feeling helpless and screwless even after being helped! I went to Lowes and was greeted immediately by several employees. Martin in hardware helped me find the needed screws within a minute and I was on my way!! Amazing service. Ellijah in the paint section and Matt in the store were both extremely helpful. Elijah gave us explanations on why he was recommending certain colors and brands while also listening to all our ideas and reassuring us. He noticed I was translating everything to my mom in Spanish , and then later when we went to pick up the jars he left a note on top of each with the colors written in Spanish and in English. Very courteous of him to do this and a real definition of how the smallest gestures can mean the most. Especially since Elijah did this without us even asking for it. Holiday time, self check closed and 1 register open for the entire store while other employees are walking around and socializing.

Had to get a galleon of white paint. Sounds easy right? Nope. No one in paint department at 10 am when the store is not that busy. Have to wait to get it shaken. Then there is a big 8 1/2 X 11 sign saying buy one get one 50% off, so I buy the more expensive paint and yes now 2 of them. Then get to the register it doesn't ring. Go back and read the sign it's a restate. Ok. Cashier says it will print. Then get my receipt it doesn't print. Cashier wants to debate with me. I ask to speak to a manager she directs me to customer service. I get the paper that is on the section where the paint is and she says oh this expired yesterday! Really!!! Finally it was honored, but for some reason I was getting the lecturing when all they needed to do is know their promotions and set them correctly. read more
