When that happened I tried a different stylist at Allure but wasn't totally satisfied. That left me shopping the area for a new salon. Others were just ok. Several weeks ago I called Allure Salon and was pleasantly surprised that Ann is cutting hair again. Yay, I booked an appointment for a shampoo and wet cut. Ann did a fantastic job of massaging my scalp while washing my hair. I showed her a picture of the approximate length and style and told her I just wanted a wash and wear hair style. She got right to work and worked miracles with my overgrown mop. Yay, I'm sold once again on making Ann my stylist. Since she runs the business side of this company she has decreased her time on being a stylist but I perfectly understand not burning the candle at both ends. I know to schedule six weeks in advance to be sure to get on Ann's schedule. Ann is woohoo as good as it gets when cutting and styling hair!

Jeannie's is a really lovely little Salon. She's got a very Spa-like Courtyard that is just gorgeous and a her bespoke shop is quite lush. She got my Hubs in and out fast, which was nice, and offered us some local advice, which was appreciated. She's really a nice gal and if I needed my hair did, I'd definitely consider her... Unfortunately, I can't give 5 stars because my hubs was not impressed with his cut. And upon getting home we realized it was a bit uneven. Now, if he'd spoken up there I'm sure she would have and could have fixed it, but, he didn't. All and all, I'd say, this is a Salon, not a Barber Shop, so you can take what little criticism I have with a grain of salt. Jeannie is sweet and so is her salon!

However, I am absolutely heart broken to say my hair was not done well and not HOW I ASKED it to be done. When I made the appointment, I asked for heat rollers to be used because even though my hair curls & holds fine at home, when I get my hair professionally curled it never holds. THE OWNER REPLIED TO MY GOOGLE REVIEW SAYING MOST SALONS DON'T HAVE HEAT ROLLERS. I WAS TOLD BOTH TIMES I CALLED THAT HANNAH WOULD BE REMINDED TO BRING IN HEAR ROLLERS. SO NOT ONLY WAS I LIED TO, BUT THE OWNER COULDN'T EVEN BE EMPATHETIC AND APOLOGETIC BUT INSTEAD BLAMED ME FOR NOT ADVOCATING BETTER FOR MYSELF. The morning of my appointment, I called again to remind them to ask Hannah to BRING IN heat rollers to use on my hair. I requested them a third time when I got to the salon for my appointment. Hannah shrugged it off, saying she believed the "velcro rollers" would only give me volume and not curl and that she would curl my hair with a curler & pin it for a few minutes to let it set. I trusted the professional, but I should have stood up for myself and insisted on using heat rollers. Within 30 minutes of leaving the salon, the curls were gone. I was absolutely devastated. This maternity photo shoot is obviously a huge deal, once in a lifetime thing, and I just spent $155 (tip included) for great makeup and flat, straight hair. I was so disappointed that my requests were not met. My appointment was scheduled to be three hours long, but it only took two hours if that gives you any idea how much shorter "pinning my hair" took than the heat roller method would have taken. I rushed to Ulta, seeking some sort of last minute option as I was absolutely heart broken that I had just spent so much time & money on my hair that was an absolute fair for such an important event. Ulta curled my hair for $30 and those curls lasted for most of the photo shoot. They also wondered why the salon wouldn't do what I requested and even said heat rollers is the tried and true method that worked for our mothers and grandmothers, having no idea what Hannah meant by "velcro rollers that don't curl your hair." Anyways, I made the best of the photo shoot (which was cheaper than the hair & makeup) but having to drive in 3 hours & out 3 more hours and spend hundreds of dollars and take off work etc etc I would have liked to have gotten the hair style I asked THREE TIMES for. Great salon, great makeup, etc but fine hair'd girlies whose hair may not hold a curl super well beware Photo is my hair within 30 minutes of leaving the salon.

They are gracious offering candy and soft drinks, tea or water if you arrive early or have to wait. The space is not overwhelming. I book with Topher and I have never had anything but excellent work done on my hair from him. He communicates well, is personable, understands my hair needs and desires and uses high quality products and great skill. I have had nothing but good experiences at Focus and I get frequent compliments on my hair.
