Froula, the first principal of Roosevelt High School from 1922 until his death in 1938. That makes sense because the high school is just a couple blocks south of this playground. It runs the length of the block and is a quiet and peaceful part of the neighborhood. There's a lot of street parking which gives easy access but other than that there's not much else here. There is a lot of a grassy area but for now that part is pretty much undeveloped.

My kid particularly liked that the "whisper tubes" still worked, as in a lot of places they have stopped working. Pretty easy to park around here too either on 12th or in one of the neighborhood streets south or west of the park. Hopefully over time the neighboring reservoir will end up lidded like Cal Anderson because there should be a huge park/playground given the cluster of neighborhoods around here (Roosevelt, Ravenna, Wallingford).

Wallingford Playfield is mostly a wide-open field where students from the nearby high school are often practicing field games, usually Frisbee and Soccer. When these activities aren't taking place, it's often a unofficial off leash park for dogs of the neighborhood to run and play through the park. There is a playground that looks fairly new and well-kept that children are often on. On the back side of the park are some tables where folks can sit and maybe have a picnic. Presently there is a petition posted around the neighborhood to save the park as it's at risk of being redone as an official field for the schools. The biggest issue is that the field will be changed to artificial turf. There is a website that goes into all the details and hopes to preserve the park. Personally, I think the Park is fine as is but have not strong opinion on the matter. As it stands Wallingford Playfield is a nice park that I enjoy walking through occasionally.

Big parties enjoy the swing at the playground. It also has a great drum station. Very attractive for toddlers. Kids will also hang out by the climbing net. A lot of movement for sure. Lots of kids. Some of them were in summer camps with their guides :) Restrooms just steps aside the pool. Loved that there is a "deeper" part so todds can swim. Everyone is friendly. Benches around to sit and watch. But it can be tricky to find shade sometimes. Just 2 sits :S It also has a kind of beach for babies. There is plenty of room to run down the park. Green grass makes it nice :) Street next to the park can be closed for neighbors only. Parking was no problem though.

I thought they might break out in song jk. This was the best swimming experience for my kids. They learned more in 30 minutes here than at the British Swim school. I also love the atmosphere as it reminded me of a community swim meet. Design and overall aesthetic of the community center is new and the center doesn't look run down. There was a random RV parked in front of the center but nothing sketch. As a parent I look out for these things. I'm excited to try more classes here for my kids.

This they ran out of funding so I save up extra money just in case because my daughter really wanted to try a sport this year. I wanted to put her in camps that would help build up her creativity/motor skills.. She is very good with her hands and she wanted to try more sports.. I signed my daughter up for a soccer camp that cost 180.00 for 5 days and 50 minute sessions each day, in doors...The camp started on a monday August 11th and she got sick sunday the day prior... I emailed another program coordinator earlier monday 9am prior to the camp starting at 1pm to notify that my daughter was not feeling well, and she may miss some days of the camp... I asked if we could move her to another camp that starts in September so that she don't miss multiple days. LeeMay replied back stating the don't give refunds and she disregarded my question about asking to move my daughter to another camp... And she didn't reply at all to any of the questions I asked about happy feet soccer for 2 yr olds... She advised she could put a request in but a doctor's note is advised not required. I advised It takes time and money taking my kids to the hospital for a tummy ache and frequent uses to the bathroom when I can handle it as a parent and how come my word is not enough..she ignored the rest of my emails and chose to not put a request in for my refund or reply back stating why she could not change the camp dates or give a credit to my account for another activity. LeeMay Kim choose to not put the request in and The community center kept my 180.00 dollars. Now my daughter cant do the camp at all because I Don't have funds and could not afford to flush 180.00 down the drain... And Seattle parks and recreation scholarship department have no way in helping assist me in getting my refund.. Very disappointed in LeeMay and her un professional habits in how she chose to assist me....And how she and the Department made it harder for a child who was really wanting to be involved in a summer camp and program... I highly recommend not working with LeeMay or giving this community center any funding for youth because they really don't care about the youth... Very digested.

There is a huge loop for joggers and strollers and inside the loop is a huge grassy area for picnics and folks with dogs. The two parts of the park are separated by a set of stairs. Near the public restrooms near the playground is Noah's Butterfly Garden which is a cute little section. I've always driven by this park but have never visited until now, and I might have to continue coming back because it's very nice.

The abutting King County…read moreDistrict Court (Shoreline location) has its parking lot restricted from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday, so when I arrived a little after 8:30 a.m. today, Thursday 20 April 2023, I decided to go with the street parking. There were a few people at the park and a variety of birds were singing. I spotted a bunny rabbit, Rufous-sided towhee, and robin while walking around. A paved path around the park helped alleviate any fears I had of tripping. The grass, playground, and gazebo were well maintained and cleanly. A small bridge connecting the playground area to the gazebo area went over a waterway. Fun place to go on a quiet day like today and do some wildlife watching.
