Maple Leaf Reservoir Park is a neighborhood park in north Seattle. It spans 16 acres and has a variety of activities like pickleball courts, baseball fields, basketball courts, and a kids playground. There is a huge loop for joggers and strollers and inside the loop is a huge grassy area for picnics and folks with dogs. The two parts of the park are separated by a set of stairs. Near the public restrooms near the playground is Noah's Butterfly Garden which is a cute little section. I've always driven by this park but have never visited until now, and I might have to continue coming back because it's very nice. read more

Maple leaf Reservoir Park is a gem in Seattle. You have wonderful views of downtown Seattle and Lake, Washington and Mount Rainier. It's quiet but always has a few people looping around almost impossible to avoid Neighbors and feels like a small town in a big city. read more

Very nice park! I enjoyed walking all over here (I play Pokémon Go so of course I had to go to every stop in the park) The children's area is large and there are lots of equipment for them to play on but it was very busy! I liked spending most of the time up on the hill during my visit where I took pictures of the park's most distinguishing feature, the water tower. I enjoyed walking on the circular paths on the hill and got a gorgeous view of downtown Seattle. Definitely a nice outing and I'm sure a very loved place for nearby residents. read more

We love this park! A playground for littles, including a detached sand pit, a paved path making its way around the lower park and many rideable toys presumably left by neighbors that can be enjoyed on that path. A picnic shelter and facilities are also available at the playground. Very child friendly! The upper portion of the park, by the water tower, is basically a huge field, also surrounded by paths (gravel) and space enough to run and free play. Often you'll see soccer games, volleyball tournaments, people playing basketball or tennis, and get others roller skating on the courts when not otherwise in use. read more

Amazing park! How have I not reviewed it yet? I've lived nearby since it opened in 2012. Firstly, the view! Maple Leaf is the second highest point in Seattle (pretty sure I read that on Wiki), so the entire downtown skyline, Space Needle, and mountain ranges are visible. Secondly, the awesome playground space on the lower level, with a ZIP LINE, sand pit, butterfly garden, sweet playground equipment, and lots of fun things for all ages to enjoy. People donate their baby toys here, so there's always something to play with. There is a loop at the top that is perfectly equal to 1,000 steps and is wide enough for many people to share, with basketball court and pickleball court. The biggest flaw is the lack of shade. In the summer the park turns into the Sahara desert. So, bring lots and lots of water, sun hats, and be prepared if you are there on an 85 degree day. There are some shady spots by the playground, and a small shelter. The bathroom is also undergoing repairs, and last I remember visiting, still hasn't opened, so NO PUBLIC BATHROOMS as of this post. read more

Am I the only grinch who didn't like it? Probably because I was expecting something else like trails and trees as in a preserve :( But it is a nice park for kids and playing on the sand. Not for walking. I didn't find a great view neither. Too hot on summer because of the lack of trees. We left soon :( read more

What an awesome park! My daughter discovered it by accident driving by one day. We took our 2 year-old grandson and he had a blast. OK...very few parks have zip lines and I don't recall any with Tonka trucks in the sand for little ones to play with. The play equipment itself has something for kids of all ages. There are mosaic butterflies hidden throughout the play area that you can try and find. If you walk up the stairs to the reservoir, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view of downtown Seattle. We will definitely return again soon. read more

I love discovering new parks! My friend lives down the street and we took his new puppy out for a quick walk. The loop isn't very long but you'll see runners, walkers and dogs around the park on a beautiful day. The playground for kids is pretty elaborate, lucky them! I'll definitely be back when I dog sit for my friend in a few weeks. read more

This is a nice neighborhood park. There are courts, walking paths, and a kids play ground area. It has some stellar views of the mountains as well. It's not too popular so you typically don't have the crowds that come with that. It's a nice park that's not too far, so I'd refinement it if your looking for a nice place to jog, walk the dog, or spend some time with the kids. It's not huge, so you can see the whole park in about 15 minutes. read more

Because it's on top of a reservoir, don't expect hiking trails or diverse plant life at this park. It's a simple but useful urban space that serves the neighborhood. There's pickle ball courts, a great playground and a baseball diamond in the lower area. There is a really nice view of Mount Rainier and the Cascades on clear days and amazing sunrises at the right time of the year. I enjoy coming in the mornings when it is quiet. There are some trees around the perimeter of the park but many of them have been neglected by the Seattle Parks Department and are dying. Also, please keep your dogs leashed. This huge gorgeous park is perfect for so many things. 1. if you walk around the 1/2 mile round track at the top (also known as the lid) you catch a view of both Bellevue and downtown Seattle and the mountains. it's so beautiful. 2. you into pickle ball? They have 2 courts and a practice wall too! 3. you into 1 on 1 basketball... there's a spot here for you 4. need a big grassy field? you're covered 5. want to have a picnic with a cover, that's here too 6. Just a short walk down the stairs and there is a huge play spot for kids 7. number 6's play field is also filled with toys left for the community 8. there is a soccer and baseball field too 9. want a snack or a drink? This is a hidden gem within the confines of the Maple Leaf neighborhood. I love everything about this park; the cleanliness; how it's within walking distance of various eats, treats, and so on, not to mention it's practically out the back door of my partners lovely humble abode. I'm not going to lie, I want to wrap this park up with bow, squeeze it, and then give it a good pinch. Plus, how can you resist the Seattle skyline in the distance? Incredible! This park made me so confused. When I stopped by to enjoy some sun and read a book I had thoughts of either wanting children or wanting to be a kid again. ACK! But really, it's just that cool. All of the climbing equipment and playground stuff looks new, safe and well maintained. If I were a kid this would easily be my favorite Seattle park. There's tons to play with, lots of space for running around, and there's grass for picnics, dogs, various other sports, and more. When you think of a park, this spot has it all. read more

I always enjoy heading here. The upper side of the park has a jogging track and a giant field, with a water tower overlooking it all. Down a flight of steps from the upper side is a pair of 60' baseball diamonds. Nearby is a playground with a zipline. The park itself seems to be clean and updated, but nothing to rave about. The reason that I have the park only three star was because the last time that I went to the park, the bathrooms were being rebuilt, because some idiot set them on fire, and one of the port-a-potties between the fields had been blown up by a firecracker. Nice park to walk my dog. I see many kids playing there and practicing soccer or baseball there as well. Peaceful space in the city and there's a beautiful city view from top of the hill. There is a plan that this park is going to be even bigger. The reservoir area is going to be a park also! I hope there's going to be a dog run area there. I hope! There are many dog lovers live in Maple Leaf! One thing though, the Waldo Woods area near the park will be a construction site soon. People in Maple Leaf are fighting for it, but they are gong to cut down many trees there, and the Waldo hospital will be demolished which contains lead which is not really safe for the neighbors and guess what, there are lots lots more town homes!!! How sad. Do we need more town homes? There are many for sell (and hasn't been sold for a while) on Roosevelt Ave. already. read more

Love this neighborhood park zip line, sand box, plenty of room for kids to play and run slide. They even have a track and a mini tennis court perfect for kids on the upper deck. read more

When I came here two or three years ago and the parks department first opened the new playground, I thought they had done a pretty good job with the variety of equipment and imaginative themes. Now that I have a dog who likes to go sniffing and walking, we get a chance to explore lots of Seattle area parks, and this one quickly jumped to the top of my admirations. Unlike many of the parks in the region, this one looks like it is staffed well enough to have all of the landscaping looking good, even the lesser-trod areas. When a place is well cared for, the experience is so much better. Yes, there is a great loop, a great playground, a great view, and two beautiful baseball fields, but having the whole thing well taken care of is a big plus in today's underfunded budgets. read more

Solid park, but in the scheme of Seattle parks, nothing to write home about. Upper area is running/biking track and huge field. Some covered picnic areas. Down below is a very popular playground with a zipline! Nice restroom facilities. Some city views from up top. We like to visit this park in tandem with a meal at Flying Squirrel a few blocks away. read more

One of the best parks in Seattle. The playground is fantastic, the walking path is great and the views of Downtown Seattle, Bellevue, Lake Washington and Mount Rainier are spectacular. I do not even live in Maple Leaf but I drive my children to this park at least once a week. read more
