Came in for breakfast after a good workout. Packed enough. Seated immediately. Got our orange juice and coffee within maybe first 5 mins of sitting down. Which was nice. I ordered the country sampler with ham and home fries (roasted red potatoes and there was pieces of crispy skin which was a nice), it comes with sausage gravy which I had on the side. Everything was good. Except for the sausage gravy. I can do without next time. The Mister got corn beef hash with his eggs sunny side up and white toast. He finished all of it. Said it was good. Can't really go wrong with corn beef hash he said. The toast wasn't toasty. Seemed like they made a bunch and just had it sitting there. Overall, food and service was good for the most part. Our waitress came by and checked up on us as often as she could. But towards the end, she was running around a bit much and didn't bring us our check in a timely manner. We had to ask for it twice and she didn't come back to get it either. We walked up and paid for it. Overall, would come back. They're open from 7am-2pm. Parking is plenty. But be careful when parking close to other cars or big big trucks. Saw a few close calls in the parking lot.

Love coming here for breakfast. The portions are huge and I usually need a nap after, haha. I appreciate being able to order a sweet AND savory combo! The customer service is always great as well.

Food is amazing!! The food has always been top notch, fresh and truly country tasting. The staff is great also, very friendly and on top of everything. If you have never been here before, you don't know what you're missing. Thank you to all the staff for a great job preparing and serving!!!

If I could give ten starts I would!!! Food was perfect, great taste, great presentation, and great flavors as well !!! My service dog (medical alert) and I had no issues at all. Staff are friendly, helpful, and polite. I asked another server to change an item on my order and she let my server know ( shows amazing teamwork among staff members). I'd definitely recommend and I would definitely come again :) Also very clean, open layout ( not to close together), clean bathrooms, soothing atmosphere. :)

Chef salad and across from me got a melt. Both were delicious!

Had brunch here again. Jan was our waitress wearing a festive hat. Ate brunch here with my neighbor the other day and had Kealy as our waitress. I was super impressed she had to write down nothing and made no mistakes I know that I definitely would! Super service. 27Feb2024

Very nice tasting broccoli and cheese soup and a biscuit, both of these came with your entree as well as two sides

I wish I would have discovered this place years ago and I would have been a regular sooner! We have been at this location twice in the last 2 months. One for breakfast and once for dinner. Both times the service was very friendly and pretty fast. I forget what I ordered for breakfast, but I remember my wife liking the grits and everything being extremely good value for the price. Dinner tonight was also good. Dinner entrees ran $10 - $15 and include soup, biscuit or cornbread, and two sides. Our group enjoyed the liver and onions, blackened redfish, collards, green beans, and deviled eggs. This was the 1st place I've ever seen with a deviled egg as a side. OK, it was only 2 halves, but it was a nice option beyond fries, rice, etc. The kids menu had breakfast/lunch/dinner options at all.times, so the kids can have their favorite brinner of pancakes and bacon if you let them. They also have a 15% military discount on top.of their great prices. Okay, this review is missing exclamation point and bad jokes, but in all seriousness this is a Friendly local restaurant with well made comfort food ranging from Light and Healthy to deep fried and covered in gravy!

We decided to have dinner when they had soulfood Sunday. The original waitress we had was cool and friendly, but the 2nd was not friendly, never took a drink order, never told us what was still available. We orginally ordered yams, after 15/20 of waiting we were told there weren't any left and what would we like to replace it with, but luckily they discovered they had enough for at least one serving. The peel & eat shrimp is literally too salty to eat. Following this dinner we had full blown headaches and suspect it was from this salty dish that we could not finish. The catfish was cooked well, and seasoned well, yet also salty along with the collard greens. The mac was good and balanced, the bite with some catfish was perfect. I was happy they did bring out the yams because they were made perfectly, soft, not too sweet and complimented every part of the meal. The smothered porkchops, a bit too smothered for our liking in a salty gravy. Trying to eat the porkchop itself was a challenge not worth much because you may be getting fatty piece. My wife, being the kind person she is, decided to try dessert. She has been looking for real banana pudding, what they had left was red velvet cake. It was pretty good, not much to say on it honestly I was beyond done. That said, we will not be returning. I really wanted a po boy, but its not worth getting a headache over due to high sodium

Are you constantly on the lookout for 5-star food without the stuffy atmosphere, haughty staff, or having to pay a literal leg to foot the bill? Well, quest no more because the Big Boy is here to tell you I found it! Just up the good ole Dixie Highway (modern-day US1) a spell from BBDO HQ is where you will find Chef's Kitchen & Soul Food in Cocoa, FL. Enter the Big Boy and my undying pledge to eating. Oh, yeah, and my timeless promise to provide the dining public with no-holds-barred, flavor-focused food reviews. The first thing I noticed about the joint was the sign on the outside of the door (see picture). Chuckling softly to myself, I just knew I was going to love this place. The main man here is an amiable guy that goes by Mike. Not only did Mike have his pants pulled up and securely belted, but he has brilliantly captured the meaning of flavorful food and need I remind you, flavor and execution of said flavor is why we at BBDO do this. Checking my pants one last time, I strolled up to the counter and placed an order for fried shrimp with sides of collard greens, mac and cheese, black-eyed peas and some banana pudding to round out the me(al). Subjugating my brain's desire to foray into the land of those who suffer from Witzelsucht (with pants being pulled, peas being mushed and bananas in the mix how can puns and innuendos not creep into one's mind?) I ambled off to find a table and await for what I hoped was some good ole fashioned Southern Comfort food. It wasn't long before my order was up, and as one can see everything certainly looked as it should. The Shrimp, was battered with a most succulent coating and deep fried (as all good food is) to golden crispiness. The black-eyed peas were bursting with Southern flavor and mushy as they should be. These do not need anything. No salt, no pepper, nothing. They are good to go as served and then some. Next up on the Big Boy's discerning palate was the world-famous southern staple of sauteed Collard greens. I have to say that these were some of if not the, best greens I have yet had the pleasure of scarfing down. Having been sauteed to perfection with just the right amount of bacon and other seasonings, like the black-eyed peas before it, lacked for nothing in the flavor category. The mac & cheese was a creamy, delicious, cheesy concoction dancing across my taste buds and I had to ask myself, how can it get any better? The answer to that question can be found in three words: Southern Banana Pudding. You don't think I got this big just eating burgers, did you? Oh, no loyal reader, you have to indulge in sweets ever so often to get this rotund. A few days after sampling Mike's grub for this review, I ordered four trays of the magical banana glop. There is a secret ingredient in here that my trained palate could not discern until the third pound or so (I will allow you the joy of discovering that yourself). If this is not the best darn Banana Pudding in the USA I will throw my favorite hat to the gators. Mike has to serve up some of the best Southern Comfort Food I have ever eaten. The Big Boy says, "If you have the diabeetus you will want to bring extra insulin. This food is worth living on the edge!"
