For my daughter's graduation she wanted a stole that represent both sides of her family. So I bought two different stoles on Amazon: I had a Filipino Flag Stole & a Guatemalan Flag Stole. In order to customize it with one flag on each side, I brought it to a few seamstress shops on Piedmont Ave. They said it couldn't be done. But when I walked into this shop, I was greeted by a calm person. They took time to understand what exactly I wanted to do with the stoles. They took the time to examine the stitching. And they concluded that they COULD do it! She even said she'll make the piping look good. She was able to make Two Graduation Stoles. The stitching and piping even looked better than it's original! Now it's a keepsake for future graduations to come. Not sure if pricing was too high! But it was a value for the end result. They have the convenience of taking Venmo! I requested an alteration for a bridesmaids dress. They did a great job. Very responsive and kind!

This place is terrible. Don't go. Parking is hard enough as it is and the customer service was horrible. There was an agreed upon date to have clothing alterations completed, it was on the receipt and everything. Day of pick up, they did not have the item ready, and asked me to come back next day. They had this "it is what it is" attitude and laughed at our face when asked; why even have an agreed upon date if they're not going to fulfill it. They pulled out the clothing piece and nothing had been done to it at all. What else can we do? I'm irritated at this point needing to come back the next day. I live in San Leandro and go into an office for work. Gas is expensive and it's not only inconvenient but also inconsiderate and unprofessional to have an agreed upon date but then push it back while I'm already there for pick up. At least give me a call to let me know to save me the trip. I made the mistake of paying first before the alterations were done. At least I should have paid half just to make sure they fulfill their end of the bargain. I asked for a discount and they had the same attitude of laughing in my face like I was asking for the impossible when they were the ones who didn't fulfill their end of the bargain, with a recipe as proof in my hand. They said they can offer a discount for the next visit but I won't be coming back. Also, how do I know they will fulfill it? It was just chicken scratch on the back of a business card that they can easily claim is false the next time, which again, there will be none. I'm just going to learn to sow myself because this was ridiculous. read more

As a new customer, I paid in full as agreed for a suit to be tailored within 72 hours for a funeral. This boutique was one of the few places open this past Sunday, and I appreciated that they took the time to meticulously measure and discuss the alterations. They suggested the changes based on my needs, and we agreed on a price. When I returned today (Tuesday afternoon), the trousers were visibly too tight and the hem was uneven. The seamstress agreed to fix it by 6PM. However, when the gentleman returned, he demanded an extra $40 for the corrections and defensively explained how hard his day had been and how the seamstress worked hard, which were unrelated concerns though acknowledged. Despite the previously agreed price and the poor workmanship--uneven hems and asymmetrical waist adjustments--he insisted on extra payment. This unprofessionalism and the poor quality of the alterations left me scrambling before an important event. Ultimately, I took the suit back without resolution. Would not recommend. read more

I must admit I was in a bit of a pickle, and LP Couture totally saved me! I may have been a little too chill about my wedding day, and didn't even think to get my dress pressed before the ceremony. This place is amazing. I needed a custom sewing job. I had bought a second battery for my e-bike and I wanted a pouch for the battery that I could strap to the frame of my bike. I bought the materials from the fabric store down the street and the fabric store referred me to LP Couture (because I don't know how to sew). I described what I needed them to build and drew them a picture. LP gave me a fair rate for the job. A week later, I picked up the pouch, and it came out beautifully. I just tested it out and it worked just as I imagined. They do other stuff too. I saw a woman who was getting her wedding dress altered. If you will use their service, use with CAUTION. Long story short, I had a wedding August 20th and I need last minute alterations (a week prior). LP Couture, were good about being responsive and accepted my requested despite it being last minute. Problem: They completely ruined my dress. I asked to remove an original sleeve and replace it with sheer double layered and to raise the dress since it was big around my shoulders. I went Friday just to check in to see they cut fabric from the original dress I NEVER said to cut and used it for the sleeves. Advice: There is a language barrier. So write EVERYTHING DOWN THAT YOU WANT ALTERED AS INSURANCE. My husband was there as a witness to what I wanted to changed and they completely misunderstood. Then they tried to BLAME us for not understanding, which is not my problem. They also claimed they don't buy new fabric, which they DONT disclaim. Go ahead and use their service but with CAUTION. 1. Write everything down that you wanted changed so if they screw you over, you have written evidence. 2. Just know they apparently don't buy new fabric, which they don't share with their clients, at least not with me. 3. Go check on what you wanted changed just make sure everything is on track. read more

The people here are just absolutely lovely and the shop is really cute. The service was outstanding. They repaired a rip in the back of a white sheer overlayed Tahari dress that I thought was done for. It looks brand new. They told me it would take 4 to 5 days, but did it in 2. Also, they sell beautiful clothes that they make! Really couture! The pricing is completely fair too. If you have ever sewn before, you know that even simple jobs require a lot of effort. We met in the beginning of Covid. She was selling her reusable cloth masks & I came across her post. I bought many masks from her for myself and coworkers. Very sweet couple and quick, quality work! To top it off, it was a Sunday of Labor day weekend. I was in a pinch! I had a 2 hour window between work and a flight. They got back to me promptly in the morning (before they even opened) about hemming my pants and we were able to easily coordinate a time for me to drop by. Very fast response times! I rushed over after work and they hemmed my pants on the spot. Took less than 20 minutes, and you can't even tell the pants were hemmed when flipped inside out. At least for the intake process, the folks at LP Couture were so sweet and efficient. I have a corset that I needed altered for my wedding in 14 days and they did not bat an eye at this request. The folks in the shop were so nice and kind! The shop seems Asian woman owned.
