I have been a patient of Vitality Functional Medicine for several years. The 'functional medicine'…read moreis what makes it great, the alternative to regular doctors and a lot of prescription medication. I have had chiropractic care and acupuncture at their office. This care incorporates Body, Mind, and Spirit, something that we all need for health and longevity. The staff is knowledgeable, understanding, and very caring. I highly recommend the health support and care with Doctor Lex at Vitality Functional Medicine, she has vast natural knowledge and experience. Mixing the functional medicine and traditional care works for my health plan. I know that Vitality Functional Medicine can allow you to see health benefits, too!

Contacted the office 21 hours in advance as soon as I knew our flight was being pushed back 6 hours. Their response was "due to their policy my $200 deposit is forfeited." No consideration was given due to the unforeseen circumstances that were out of my control. Sent the office manager screenshots of my location so that she knew that I was not anywhere near the area. If this is how they treat their patients (and potential new patients), don't waste your time or money. Mind you I had two other appointments the same day with local small businesses that required deposits as well and the other two businesses carried over my deposit to the new appointments I made.

Dr. Heather Moday is incredible! I joined her practice last summer and, already in fairly good…read morehealth, expected I'd only need to maintain what progress I'd made. After taking my history in our first session, she ordered comprehensive blood work to be done. Two weeks later when I returned to find out where I stood, I was startled to learn I wasn't quite as healthy as I'd previously thought. First, the genetic testing she ordered showed that I had both genes for Alzheimer's Disease and that my particular combination put me in a risk group well above 50 percent to get this dread disease. As well, with these two markers, I learned that symptoms often begin in the late forties or fifties. On other tests I was on more encouraging ground but everything was certainly not optimal. She altered and added to the supplements I was taking, put me on an even more disciplined exercise regime, and gave me a title and told me to read this book: The End of Alzheimer's: The First Program to Prevent and Reverse Cognitive Decline by Dr. Dale Bredesen. At the time my own mother was in the late stages of dementia and had I been privy to this new information, we could have saved her life or made her last years more fruitful. After my visit with Dr. Moday, I then went to Olivia Neely, her nutritionist, who taught me about dietary changes that would help improve my health. By eating more fiber, including probiotics and prebiotics to my diet, she got me on the right track. Two months later, following the advice and suggestions of both Dr. Moday and Olivia Neely, my cholesterol levels made a huge improvements. My LDL went from 106 down to 68! As well, all my other markers improved, too. Two months later I became starkly aware that my cognition had been gradually improving. I started to remember numbers, addresses, and wasn't lost to find the right word in a conversation. I could keep my train of thought in a discussion and hold my own in making my points as in days of old. I realized, just like Eleanor, in Chapter 3 of Bredesen's book, I had been coming out of Alzheimer's myself. Had it not been for Dr. Moday and her incredible team, I would have gone the way of my own mother. This practice, that now includes Jon Mitchell, her bright, young Physician's Assistant, is the gem of the medical world here in Philadelphia and not to be missed. Yes, it can be a bit pricy, but it has been worth every penny I spent. Dr. Moday and her team gave me back my life!

The Moday Center has been nothing short of life changing for me. 6 months ago I was suffering…read moresevere fatigue and desperate for a way to gain the energy I so badly needed being a mother of two small children. Dr. Moday, Olivia, Jon, and Kristie are professional, friendly, and have a way of making you feel truly cared for. Dr. Monday and her team have worked with me to target and treat my specific healthcare concerns. The difference in care you receive between the Moday Center and a Primary Care Physician is night and day. The testing is extensive and pinpoints exact areas of your health that are in need of treatment. For example, I have suffered from cystic acne my entire life. Thanks to a comprehensive hormonal testing I took, Dr. Moday was able to figure out why, and what supplement I needed to help. A month later, I am already seeing results. I have made many changes to my life thanks to Dr. Moday and her fantastic team. In my opinion, everybody should have this kind of healthcare. Today I am over 10lbs lighter and have more energy than I know what to do with. I would highly recommend The Moday Center to anyone that is serious about their health and wellness.

I used a Groupon to schedule a float therapy session here. Although I'm not 100% sold on float…read moretherapy after my session, I must say that the staff was very helpful and friendly, and the facility is quite nice. It's a little confusing when you walk in because the Renova Wellness Center is two stories and has several different facilities within the building, including a gym, a tea bar, and a hyperbaric therapy center, all on the first floor. Because I was running a little late (It's a little difficult to locate their parking lot because it's on the rear of the building, and the only entrance is from Wilson Rd), I didn't have the chance to wander upstairs, but someone saw me frantically searching the unlabeled map on the wall and very kindly directed me to the float center. The man who helped me make the appointment was seated at the front desk, and he extended a warm welcome and asked my name, signally that they were expecting me. I thought that personalized touch was quite nice. A woman brought me to the float room, and upon learning that it was my first float, showed me how the features worked, explained the benefits (theta wave relaxation brought on by sensory deprivation and deep relaxation), and explained how to work the shower, the vitamin D lights, and put in the ear plugs. One complaint: The shower head was on the end of a flexible hose, which was awesome, except there was nowhere to place the shower head to keep it hands free, so I had to awkwardly hold it the whole time I was showering. The herbal shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel were delightfully aromatic and sufficiently thick. The float session itself was nice, but I was not prepared for the small amount of motion sickness that I initially experienced. I think the slight, almost imperceptible movement of the water is what did me in. Once I was able to lie completely still, I did better. I did eventually get to a state of deep relaxation, but it felt like it took me about 30-45 minutes to get there. Another thing I wasn't prepared for was the amount of salt crusting that accumulated on body parts that were above the water. By the end of the session, my face was crunchy and stiff. I probably should have used the spray bottle and small face towel more often, but I wanted to get into the deep meditative state, so I only used it at the end of the session. All that aside, the weightless sensation, although slightly disorienting, was quite nice, and I feel like I would probably get better, deeper, more relaxed states with future floating sessions and continued practice. I loved that nothing felt rushed. The recorded voice gives you an 8 minute warning prior to your 60-minute float session beginning, and it calmly alerts you to the end of your session, as well. I could easily hear it even through the silicon ear plugs. No one knocked on the door as soon as the chime went off, and no one was standing immediately outside the room as soon as I was done. On the other hand, I was able to walk out of the float room and across the hall to the tea bar without saying a single word to anyone. The introvert in me didn't mind in the slightest, but others might find it a bit odd. The tea bar is a tad confusing, and it was completely unstaffed when I was there. Maybe they were short-staffed today, or maybe it was because it was a Saturday. At any rate, there's a sign saying to help yourself to some tea, and there are cups, tea filters, stir sticks, a hot water dispenser, various kinds of sugar, and a metal tin of loose leaf tea simply labeled "K-B tea." I'm still not sure what that means, but it was herbal and delicious. I put a few dollars in the "Donations appreciated" basket, but I was confused by the abundance of other tea bags that were evidently for sale, since they had "$2.99" and other prices hand written on them. I would have liked to purchase one or two, especially since there was a sign advertising a BOGO deal, but again, there was no one in the tea bar. I sat down for a few minutes and leafed through one of the many tea books on the tables in the room, but when no one made an appearance, I gave up and wandered out. So, overall, I had a very good experience. The facility is quite nice, and the staff (the few of them that there were) were very friendly and helpful; however, I wish the building was more clearly labeled inside and out, and I wish the website had a map clearly labeling each of the facilities, so newcomers would be a little less lost and overwhelmed.
