This isn't something I ever would have considered earlier in my life--not for any particular reason, I just wouldn't have done it. However, for the past four months, I have been working with Dennis Bueso, MA, RD (Clinical/Sports Dietitian), and the experience has been nothing like I expected. Being very overweight, I anticipated someone taking charge of the conversation and lecturing me on what I 'better' start doing. I think TV gave me a twisted idea of how these things go. Thankfully, it hasn't been like that at all. Our conversations are excellent and open. Mr. Bueso is incredibly 'chill' and immediately sets you at ease; it feels like a normal, back-and-forth conversation between two people. He is great at following up and is just a genuinely easy person to talk to. Since starting, I've seen amazing results. For those who know what A1C is, mine had been double what it should be for over five years. In just four months, I've brought it down to exactly where it's supposed to be. I give myself credit for controlling my diet, but Dennis has been instrumental in helping me understand what to watch and work on. In addition to the blood work, I've lost over 30 pounds in that same timeframe. I definitely want to give props and thanks to Mr. Bueso. If your doctor has recommended a dietitian, just do it. I worried about how it would go, but those worries were unnecessary. It has been a great experience. It is impossible to get a doctor to return a call. The staff is incompetent....they mess appointments up, don't answer the portal in a timely fashion. Sadly, Dr. Balderston has slipped, too. He has not followed up on important issues. Very frustrating and disappointing. I have been at that location for 44 years and am walking away. :( i would notbrecoomd that practice now.

I would give Dr. McDermott, his NPs, and Nursing staff 5 stars all day every day (even though they…read morecould not figure out what what my issue was and it took 2-3 visits to them and 4 visits to the ER to finally locate the problem), but at least they tried, and the NP I saw was EXTREMELY sweet and competent. The office staff, however is rude and lies. When I moved back to the area they were a close provider and I noticed on their sign that they are also a family medical practice provider. So when I went in for my first visit I asked that I be established as a regular patient and that they be my PCP. "No problem." they said. My second visit there I was presented with a huge bill and when I questioned it, I was assured I was being billed for primary care services. After my ER visit I went in to be seen to let them know what my final diagnosis finally was and that I needed to get some medications refilled that had been prescribed the ER. It was THEN I was told that they only provide "Family medicine" services for those who need like 3 months of medications at a time (you know the easy things things they can bill crazy high prices to the insurance companies for I imagine). So, now I am sick, have multiple health problems, had been told by them ON MULTIPLE occasions that they were my PCP but was then left high and dry. I attempted to find a PCP, but since they have all my records and are the provider I had been seeing, when I needed paperwork filled out because of a need for an ADA leave from my job, no one else would see me or address the situation. So I went BACK to them to explain and the office manager punched into her computer and advised that I had only ever been seen as an urgent care patient. I said that can't be right because I specifically asked, and was told that they would see me as my PCP, "Well that's what's the computer says....lol" She said . She advised that Dr. McDermott was no longer accepting patients for primary care, and I helpfully suggested they may want to add that to the "Family Medical Sign" and was rudely advised that they can put anything they want on their sign (evidently even when it is misleading at best and false advertising at worst.) Needless to say, I will be contacting the Board of Medicine to report this as well as to my insurance company as I was told I was being changed for PCP services and NOT urgent care, and will also be seeking relief in small claims court with the assistance of my attorney to try to recoup the money I already paid and/or at least have my bill reduced to the PCP rates. I may not prevail, but them having to answer the complaint from the medical board and attend a court hearing should MORE than make up for the inconvenience they have caused me. SO if you need MINOR (and I mean minor) care, and are willing to pay ridiculously high prices, by all means go here. Dr. McDermott and the nursing staff are very very nice. The office staff and manager, however need some serious training in customer service, ethics and transparent and correct billing practices.

I absolutely adore this practice!…read more After moving to the Hampton Roads area 3 years ago I struggled to find a PCP that I was happy and comfortable with. After searching and searching I found this practice and Dr. Peter Laplace through word of mouth. I am ever so glad that I did. Staff here is so friendly and helpful. I am never confused about any of the policies or billing. Appointments are easy to schedule and they even have an online patient portal for you to view your records and care plans. Having struggled for several years with a few chronic issues I am finally at a place in my physical and mental health where I'm not just getting by but am happy and on a road to healthy. This is all credited to Dr. Laplace. He listened to my issues and concerns and guided me to the best recovery path. No throwing meds at me and moving on to the next patient! We thoroughly went over the short term and long term goals and plans. Healthcare is a vital part of life and having a doctor who listens and cares is paramount to receiving the best Healthcare. I am so very lucky to have Dr Laplace and associates in primary care looking after my well being.

From the time Angie welcomes you as you enter until you leave, the entire office environment is a very positive, uplifting experience. I have worked primarily with Andrea and Paul although it is clear that everyone in the clinic is standing by ready and willing. You can tell that everyone is happy at their craft. Both Andrea and Paul are very thorough, professional and it's obvious that each are totally dedicated to their craft. I'm not sure how this works, but somehow they actually make physical therapy fun! No kidding! My orthopaedic surgeon had me assigned to another Physical Therapist after my surgery. I went and talked with that firm and told them I preferred to stay with TTN. The lady smiled and said that she's very familiar with TTN and said that I am they are as good as any firm in town. With my docs permission, I stayed with TTN and I'm glad I did. I assure you, if you are looking for a great Physical Therapist practice - congratulations, you have found just that! They have my strongest possible population.
