This one had all my boxes I try to check - professionalism dip powder great color selection of OPI polish clean good vibe and an unexpected short shoulder passage and hot towel on my hands after my nails were done! Overall, very good service. Staff polite and space is very clean. However, they do not handle the rush hour well. I went after work to a scheduled appointment. Between the overlapping appointments and the walk-ins they were simply swamped. They began to rush and it became less of a relaxing experience. I would certainly go back. This has to be by far the worst nail salon I've ever been to. For one my nails have been done for only a week and have already chipped, there's dents in the anc from the man constantly messing up. I always enjoy getting my mani/pedis at LR nails. They're very nice and have a good selection of colors. They give long leg massages and you get wax on your heels with the regular pedicure. I definitely recommend them! Make an appointment. It's usually pretty busy. read more

I went here for a regular mani-pedi as a walk in customer. As soon as I stepped inside I was greeted right away and I did not have to wait at all to get someone to work with me. So far, so good. I had gel polish on my nails, so they put the foils on my nails while I was getting my pedi done. Pedi was great, all the instruments looked sterilized and I got new filing tools. Took about 20 minutes. At this point my fingers were feeling pruned from the acetone inside the foil. They moved me from the massage chair to a working station for the mani. The person who I was working with removed the foil and right away had a hard time taking the gel off. She put the foil on my pruned fingers for about 5 minutes more, I wasn't too happy about that. After about 5 minutes a male worker came by to finish my mani. He must've been the owner as he looked really busy while working on my nails, he was answering phones, greeting people, etc. Though I was a little worried because all the multitasking he was doing, I am very pleased with the final result, it shows the level of skill this person has. Overall a nice, clean place. Giving it 3 starts because (1) It is not the cheapest: regular-mani pedi: 35 + 5 for taking off the gel... This is $40 without tips, and (2) I did not enjoy at all getting my fingers pruned from the acetone, and getting charged anyways. I was thinking all along that she should've filled the top coat of the gel before placing the foils. I've seen other people do this and have no trouble with removing the gel. I've never had this issue before. Happy with the result, overall. I will try to give it another shot soon with regular polish only, as I did not have a good experience with the gel. Oh, and also I would suggest an appointment. I got lucky when I walked in, but they seemed really busy by the time I left. read more

This place has quickly become my go-to mani place in Albany after a variety of crappy experiences at other places that left me with gel manicures that peel after a week and even worse, bleeding cuticles. I've been twice now, both as walk-ins. The first time I arrived shortly after they opened and received one of the best manicures of my life! I asked for a square cut and Sam made sure each nail was perfect. It lasted three weeks and I was still getting compliments until I got it removed. The second walk-in was during a crowded time and they squeezed me in. I should have expected that it wouldn't be as great as my first mani, especially after the person who started with me left to take care of someone who made an appt and left me with an assistant who needed directions on how to remove my gel. But, you live and learn and I can't be mad about it. I made an appointment tomorrow and suggest that you make an appt to ensure you get exactly what you want. read more

I liked this place a lot. I got a pedicure two weeks ago and still looks great! The only reason that I did not give five star was the manicure. I got a french manicure which looked very professional for a couple of days but started to chip after 4 days. Generally, I was satisfied with their service and prices are very reasonable here. I recently started getting gel manicures since they last for a while, look natural, and aren't incredibly expensive. I had gone to a place with a friend and wasn't that impressed. I decided to go to LR nail because it is extremely close to my house. I was impressed walking in because it was very clean and organized. They don't have paper towels in the bathroom or at the hand-washing station, but rather regular hand towels to use and put in a laundry bin which I thought was great. While they might have done this for cost effectiveness, it is also great for the environment. They used all new sterilized equipment and used a newly opened nail file that they opened in front of me. Heon was great and had amazing attention to detail!!! They use Vitamin E capsules to keep your cuticles soft. They also do a quick shoulder rub with is always an added bonus. Overall a great experience! Quick, organized, friendly & clean! Will definitely go back, wish I had gone sooner! read more

I go back and forth between this salon and another local one and I do not expect I'll be back. I had an appointment with the clinician I prefer. Apparently the appointment was mis-scheduled by the staff and I had to wait and then did not get my desired clinician. No apologies. I work helping to take care of people with physical and mental disabilities. We take them here all the time to get their nails done and the women that work there are so nice. Today we took three ladies (two in wheelchairs) to all get their fingernails painted. We called and made an appointment and arrived on time. At first everything was fine, but then the owner asked me to come outside so that he could talk to me. I went outside and was saddened to hear that he did not want us bringing them back to the salon anymore during summertime. He said we should come back in the winter when business is slow. The ladies that we brought were quiet and polite, the only reason he could've been saying this to me was because of the wheelchairs. We will not be returning here again and will be looking for a new salon that is more accepting of people who are different. read more

This salon is so great. I've been here many times and I've never been unhappy with my nails. Every time I go to another salon, I end up coming back to LR Nail because they always do a superior job. I've had both acrylics and ANC done, and every technician does wonderful work. They're very thorough and take their time, and if they spot a mistake, they fix it immediately instead of just moving through for the sake of time. I've seen a few different technicians and they are all consistently good. They can get really busy, so I always make an appointment before coming in. I know most salons are hit and miss, but LR Nail is a consistent hit. read more

This place is very clean and they seem to use new tools every time I go. The spa pedicures are really something else - just amazing and worth the money. This is the first salon I can confidently know I'll get a great manicure every time I make an appointment. They run a clean and professional salon while being personal. I get an ANC manicure which would last more than 2 weeks, if my nails didn't grow so quickly. They also have many different color choices, as well as gel available, if you prefer. read more

I stopped going to LR Nails awhile back and started going to City Nail because every time I've gone there the experience has been terrible. The nail technicians are always rude and rush through the process. I went back mistakenly this time because it was close to work and I needed to get my nails done. The cashier was rude to me because I was a walk-in even though their new policy (which is written with crayola markers on neon poster paper) says they only require appointments Thursday-Sunday, and I was there on a Wednesday. The nail technician was rushing through my pedicure and when it was time for a manicure I asked if I could do gel instead, and she said no because they were too busy (mind you there was a nail technician doing absolutely nothing in the corner). Then the cashier tried to dictate to me how much I should tip when the experience was terrible. I'll never go back to LR Nails. Try out City Nail in Hannaford plaza on Wolf Rd for a better and kinder experience! read more

When LR Nails opened, it was a great place to go for ANC and pedicures All that has changed. It remains clean, but the service has just gone so downhill. I have been a customer for two years and now feel so unwelcome there. I have referred numerous friends and relatives and they are feeling negative as well. From abrupt phone conversations when requesting appointments to lack of detail during ANC's it feels as though they are just doing the job, instead of doing it well. I stopped getting pedicures a while back because my nails were cut too short more than once. In addition, I have heard them speak to customers in rather harsh tones when they have asked for a change in nail shape or when a customer has moved their hands because the position was not to their liking. This is unacceptable. I know that the rudeness of a few does not speak for all that work there, but it does tell you about this business. The last straw was when Jason spoke to my daughter (who has a heart of gold and is a social worker) with utter disrespect. I can no longer be a customer there and caution those who want to try LR Nails. They are in it for the money only and customers unfortunately do not come first! read more

I went here yesterday for an acrylic set and the service was terrible. I had an older women with a short bowl cut. From the time I walked in to the time I left she would not stop trying to get me to do ANC, and I kept telling her I didn't want it. I'm not dumb...ANC is more expensive and you can't get a fill, so stop trying to sell me the fact that "it's better for your nails". After I initially told her no to ANC the service was shot for the rest of the time I was there. She was very rude and short and wouldn't stop jerking my arm around and pulling me forward so that I couldn't sit back in the chair. I'm getting my nails done so that I can relax, and I'm paying you for it, so you can at least use your words and tell me what to do instead of forcefully moving my arm and hand every five seconds. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she still didn't get the shape right (just a simple squoval), and kept huffing and puffing the TWO times I asked her to make it more like the picture. The shape still didn't come out right, my nails are all different shapes. I would not return to this place. read more

Usually my go-to nail salon. They are usually very friendly and do a meticulous job. However, today I went for my normal manicure and first said I wanted ANC but changed my mind and decided to do acrylic. This is when things took a turn for the worse. The woman doing my nails and a few of the other employees hesitated and sort of looked at each other uneasily. No one said anything so I asked "can I go pick out my color" to which they replied yes. When I returned I had a new nail lady, Anna, who seemed very unhappy and rudely told me that the nail polish I chose was an additional $3, something I was already told. She began doing my nails very aggressively, harshly moving my hand and fingers and filing the nails very roughly. She was CLEARLY quite unhappy. At times she would use her fingernails to separate the my nail from the surrounding skin which hurt quite a bit, and I frequently get my nails done and am quite familiar with the normal pain sometimes associated with the process. I asked if she could fix a very clearly crooked nail and she very rudely and aggressively told me she wasn't done filing them yet. She finished the job aggressively and quite poorly, many of my nails are crooked and the paint job was worse than something I'd do myself. I planned on not tipping and I wrote no tip on the credit card receipt to which she replied, rudely, " so the tip is in cash" as in a statement, not a question or suggestion.
