This is the second time we've called Emergency Electric One. This time we had a problem with an outdoor fountain pump outlet, they showed up ontime and let us know when they were leaving and arriving. EEO addressed the problem, retrieved the parts, and finished the job within the hour. Everything worked. However, I was having problems with the pump's flow. Spoke to Jack who was originally sympathetic to my situation and scheduled me for a Saturday install on the same day as my home theater installers. Jack called me last minute the day before to let me know a job he was already working on had run long and he would not be making it. When I asked to reschedule the following Saturday he had a "family engagement" to me this was very unprofessional and with barely any notice. I had to reschedule my home theater installers and I'm still looking for an electrician. Wouldn't recommend this guy at all. He also said he's a small company and nobody else can be sent out to me. So unless you're the highest paying job at the time it becomes your problem if the other job runs long. No thanks As a response to the latest reply I gave you as much consideration for your personal event (which you did not disclose until now conveniently) as you gave to my scheduled installation that I made the same day as our appointment, work schedule or having an 8 month pregnant wife at home (all of which I told you at the onset). More courtesy could've been given to not cancel on me at the very last second and it's funny how now you say you tried to be accommodating which did not come across at all. I started having issues with my lights after doing some bathroom renovations. My lights would flicker only when I turned them on, so I was convinced something happened with the wiring during the bathroom demo and was concerned about the risk of an electric fire. Terrible experience. Called on a Sunday, made it clear I had an urgent electrical job where two different electricians were giving me completely opposite advice. They told me they were in the neighborhood, family owned and it would be no problem to come out for a consult the next day. Then the day came and I had to reach out to them only to be told they would not be coming out and could I describe the problem and they'd give me an estimate? Well, I already described it to them yesterday. Then they told me they didn't want to be the "third free electrician" on the scene. Which is their right. But why am I hearing about this *after* you've set the appointment and don't feel like making it? Then the guy tried to walk it back and tell me they could come, but not today (didn't offer a new date and time, though). Not interested. I'll take an electrician that keeps their commitments and doesn't give attitude about the appointments they've set. If things come up and you need to move, no problem. But it's not the customer's fault you decided to give a free consult and then changed your mind! All you've done is waste both our times when I could've been looking for someone who actually wants the job! EDIT: Hahahahahaha. Jack has replied below making up an obvious lie about me telling him I tested positive for Covid to justify his terrible service. This is awesome because it's a very poorly thought out plan on his part. You know why? Because I'm fully vaccinated! I had a problem with our fan/light fixture which wasn't turning on. Jack and his father came out and fixed it very quickly. It was convenient having two of them come because one person had to be out at the breaker box to turn the power on and off. He also fixed another electrical socket problem on the same visit. I had an odd request- installation of a digital photo frame (the Meural Canvas- it's super cool, google it!). The only crappy thing about this device is it's ugly wire and big transformer box... totally takes away from the intended effect and would have added some unwanted clutter to our main hallway. I sent a Yelp request out, and Jack and John (father and son, btw) quoted me a very reasonable estimate of their minimum service call plus parts. When they got here, they assessed the situation and told me that what I'd requested would potentially involve risking the integrity of the beautiful wainscoting below (see pics). They looked around and came up with a better solution, cutting through the hallway wall and attaching the cord in the garage. This also involved only minimal parts cost. They did a very neat job very quickly on the morning after my evening request, and insisted on cleaning up every last bit of dust caused by their tools. BEWARE SCAM! Normally I do not take the time to write reviews. But there was some very wrong stuff about our job and people should know. They were hired to install an electric line in our yard and electric heater in a sauna (that was already built). Unfortunately, I was not there to supervise them. First, they mounted the heater halfway up the sauna wall, instead of close to the floor. Even if you had never seen a sauna before, in your life, most people know heat rises. More importantly, I had to re-do the work. Additionally, they left wires in a rats nest and I had to go back and shorten the main power line(s) so the heater would sit properly on the mounting position. In order to do this, I had to rewire the heater, not that difficult actually. All in all $1300 was a lot to spend to redo as much as I had to. That is not why they got 1 star, that is for the SCAM that was pulled later. After the work was complete, the sauna wasn't turning on properly. Come to find out later it was user (my) error and a simple issue of not turning one of the knobs correctly. I was out of town and wanted the sauna to work correctly when I got back because I was bringing my inlaws who really wanted to try it out. My sister met the electricians at the house and he got the sauna working in less than an hour. God knows what they were doing because the kicker is the sauna already worked. They called me and told me that the coils in the heater had gone bad and that they had replaced them. I asked them to send me some pictures of the "bad coils" but they conveniently forgot. When I asked again they said they had already thrown them out. It was a brand new heater and after checking around it seems them going bad out the box is not likely. Additionally, I pulled the rocks out and found no indication that they were not the original coils. What did theses SCAMMERS charge me for this farce? $350 to scam me instead of just telling me I had turned it on incorrectly. They took advantage of the fact that they were dealing with my sister in person. DM me if you want to hire these guys and I'll talk you out of it. The only acceptable way to make this right is to refund the $350 .... me paying for the incompetent job in the first place is technically my fault, the second visit was plain fraud. Update: The rocks were never changed by anyone on our end and it's sounding like that was the scam from the beginning. When they were originally installed you asked my wife to place them in heater in the first place, which is odd unless you were running something. I have included a picture below from the manual detailing the placement/installation of the rocks, not sounding like overfilling is a concern. I also checked with the manufacturer... same thing. The sauna was working when I called you the second time, I just didn't know how to turn it on correctly (SMH). Regrettably, it was a busy time at work for me. If you actually found faulty fuse, you should have informed me so that I could return it to the manufacturer. Instead, you opted to void the warranty by forging ahead? It was literally a brand new $800 heater. The idea that we put too many rocks and overheated the heater especially since we never added rocks is laughable. Not to mention how outrageous it is that replacing a fuse in under an hour is half the cost of a whole brand new unit? It has taken us 10 months to get to this because that's how far down the priority list it was. People please don't let this dude try to talk circles and take advantage. God bless! read more
