I was referred to Lu Frank by two separate people after I became ill from covid.... After having Covid, began to notice stiffness, swelling and fever in my joints. Specifically my knees. My general practitioner prescribed anti-inflammatories and pain meds. After a few months. I realized that the medication is not going to work for my situation. Dr. Lu is amazing! He is professional but also gives you a peace of mind needed to go into acupuncture. I came to Dr. Lu for my Bells Palsy and he has told me that he has much success with Bells Palsy patients. I am kicking myself for not coming earlier. Total sceptic converted to believer! Went to Dr. Lu on recommendation from a friend. Comfortable and serene surroundings put me at ease immediately. Went in due to a migraine and nausea. I can't speak highly enough of Dr. Lu. I believe my family first came to him when my father decided chiropractors weren't doing it for his sciatica anymore. I think that was about 10 years ago. Since then, Dr. Lu has helped many members of my family with a number of ailments, and has wowed many of our friends as well. He has helped us when Western medicine was stumped or simply insufficient, and in times when we would have otherwise given up hope. He helped relieve my father's back pain, managed my tendonitis, boosted my mothers immune system, and worked with my cancerous grandfather. He has brought each of us healing through his medicine and comfort through his warm personality. When I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, my pediatrician told me that it was something I would live with my whole life. That there was no cure and I should just do my best to take care of my body. I was exhausted no matter how much I slept and extremely distraught to hear I had to live my life like this. But by this time convinced that Dr. Lu was a healing saint, my mother sent me to him for a second opinion. Dr. Lu did not think I was untreatable, and used a combination of accupuncture and herbal pills to manage my stress and boost my immune function. Dr. Lu is the nicest doctor and most genuine man who truly cares about his patients and helping to heal them. His staff is amazing too. Prior to seeingDr. LU, I had never had acupuncture before; I only went because my primary doctor referred me out and thought it would be beneficial. I am very afraid of needles, but Dr. Lu is so awesome that it doesn't even really hurt. I have carpal tunnel and tendonitis in my wrist/hand from overuse at work. After my third session, I can feel blood flowing in my wrist and hand that I literally haven't felt in over a year. I tried physical therapy, and that worked, but the pain and tension quickly builds up again if you don't do it for awhile. :( I can honestly say this feels like it's truly doing some "permanent good;" I sincerely hope I'm right! Im not into the alternative medicine, But years back I have an injury to my heel, I went to foot doctors, got treatments, shots etc. Nothing helped. Was recommended to try this, did it, not expecting anything at all, my heel hurt much more a couple days after the acupuncture, I thought I made it worse. but then something amazing, a few more days and foot felt much better then before. I made a second trip and after a week, I was cured. I do not know how it works or why, It was not me just believing in it because I did not and even thought I made it worse. I just know he took away my pain when the foot doctor could not. I do not know how and do not care. I am just grateful it worked for me. I had a slipped disc in my back later on, the acupuncture was not able to fix that for me but then again I only went for that a couple times. I let the reviews fooled me once and I beginning to think that yelp reviews are fake. Dr. Lu is incompetent and his office staff are both racist and rude. Longer than 6 months I was trying with Dr. Lu to treat anxiety and he did nothing for me to the point that he very clear said to me: there is nothing else that I can do for you. He treated me with acupuncture in a clinic that stinks of tobacco and when I nicely asked him about the consistent smell, he kept quiet and answered nothing. Couple of times later I asked him the same question and he came up with a stupid answer about using specials incense that smell like tobacco. Then he gave me some pills to sleep that never worked on me. After 6 months of wasting my time and money with him and his rude staff, he told me that he could do nothing else for me. Two months later I visited another acupuncturist in Bakersfield and I was with a very skeptical attitude but my husband insisted since regular medicine was just making me sleepy. This new acupuncturist did his treatment and I felt relieved in the same day at the very time that he worked on me. I kept going for 3 more months and I completed my treatment. He is a real acupuncturist and he knows his work, he has real training and no just a name that make you think that he must know. I just go now once in a while. He accepted my insurance and his staff was nice enough to take care of everything. Then I realized how expensive Lu is. Lu is billing me now with hundred of dollars even I was paying $50.00 for each session and I have 2 insurances that cover acupuncture and chiropractic. I am in shock at how well just one treatment has done for my lower back pain, spasms, and beginning stages of sciatica down my right hip and leg to my knee. I slipped in December 2016, next day was almost immobile, have been doing stretches, taking painkillers here and there, anti inflammatory meds, and seeing chiropractors since then...after 17 chiro treatments and spending over $300, I decided to stop and try acupuncture based on a friends recommendation. I am so thankful I tried this, had a treatment on a Friday, did not feel any improvement that day, but Saturday i was 80% better and now Monday just 3 days post first treatment, I can say that I am 99% better. After spending many nights crying about why this happened to me, I am now crying tears of joy because I can move, even played basketball with my teens and I feel like thanks to God and the gift he has given Dr. Lu I am on my way to being back to normal!
