But that is the same of every place I would say. One thing that I did not like was the fact that they only had vinegar bottles only near the salad buffet. I don't have a weird bias against white slaw, but it belongs with seafood only! such as paired with a platter of fried shrimp and oysters, maybe flounder too! So I still had a nice hot sandwich of BBQ pork chopped with no slaw, (red slaw is acceptable and preferred as a matter of fact) riding down the highway on the way home. Let me tell you I was impressed, pleased, happy, and converted! I am now a believer in Eastern NC BBQ. Now, I still prefer Lexington, (or sometimes called Western NC style) but I can say as long as that white slaw is left off then I am good to go and up for a sandwich of Eastern style. It had the slightly vinegar taste I expected, some decent smoke flavor, and a nice bit of peppery taste. My only complaint is the price was pretty steep at almost $7 with tax for a BBQ sandwich. The menu isn't huge, but they had a decent variety, and the prices were super reasonable. I went with their Zach burger with fries and was not disappointing. My friend ordered their homemade chicken salad and she really enjoyed it as well. Overall a great a solid spot for a quick, affordable lunch, with friendly service.
