What? I can't believe that I haven't written a review for Dr. Sherman Lu. I have been going here for over 25 years. This is my go-to place whenever I'm in pain. I started going here because the treatments helped me with my painful migraines. I was told by Dr. Ho that if I stopped golfing, I would have less pain. I've stopped golfing, but due to my old age I'm still in pain. I recently started coming here on a weekly basis because I tripped and fell. I sprained my fingers, and I started feeling pain on my right lower back. Dr. Lu is a very patient and caring doctor. He always gives suggestions as to what we could do to lessen the pain. I have stopped crossing my legs. I try to sit at a 90 degree angle. I adjust my phone, tablet, and computer screen so that it is at eye level. I stand with relaxed knees. Those are just a few of the suggestions he has given me. If you want to know a good place to eat, Dr. Lu has given us numerous delicious suggestions. I can't say enough great things about this place! I love coming to Dr. Sherman Lu for adjustments for the last year. He and his staff are a great bunch that provide wonderful care. Dr. Lu is very professional and be able to tell right off the bat what is wrong with you. By the way you sit or stand. He is detail and advises you some self care at home after leaving his office. Everyone is nice and helpful. They check on you while your on the bed for treatment, about 15 mins and after you are to follow up with Dr. Lu. I feel better after leaving his office after one visit. The whole staff at Dr. Sherman Lu's clinic is kind and helpful! Dr. Lu is detailed, patient, and professional. I suffered from shoulder and back pain from working from home and Dr. Lu not only treats my pain, but he also advises me on how to make improvements in my lifestyle to prevent it at home. Beyond the treatments, Dr. Lu is also really fun to talk to! It's tough for me to describe pain levels and pain type, but Mary would always know how to ask the right questions so I can accurately describe the pain and get it properly treated. Beyond that, Dr. Lu provides insights into why the different pain areas are actually interconnected. I get a mini-lesson through each visit and I love it! They speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. If you also have a low risk tolerance with covid, they take covid protocols very seriously. You need to make appointments ahead of time and wear mandatory masks and gloves. When you arrive, please wait in the front of the door and someone will come take your temperature before letting you in. Everything is carefully sanitized between patients. Everyone in the office genuinely treats patients like family or close friends. They really care about you. Both my fiance and I are patients of Dr. Lu and when they heard about our engagement news, everyone was overjoyed for us. Being engaged while in a pandemic, we were extremely limited in social interactions with our loved ones, so the team's warmth and excitement made an exceptional imprint on our hearts. read more

I highly recommend this chiropractic practice! I first went here about 13 years ago due to a sports injury during my college softball days. After my first month, I started to heal quickly. I started coming here again around November and completed my treatment mid-January. After months of therapy at the last Chiro practice, I knew I had to go back here. The downside is that it takes about 45 mins to get here because of traffic, but I decided I had to do it for my health and I wanted to recover from the car accident injuries due to someone rear ending me. I am very glad I came back here! After a month, I started to see results with my pain down my back, arm, hand and neck. I started coming here and I was at a pain level of 9 to 10 with very bad migraines and on day 1 I could barely move. I left here with a tolerable pain level of 5 to 6 and I am now getting Platelet Rich Plasma treatment to repair the tendon tear in my elbow. Thank you to Dr. Lu, his assistants and the Office Manager, Mary! I will definitely be coming back here once I finish with physical therapy! I like it here so much that my husband started coming here too! This is a great place to get stretched, realigned, pain relief and to improve posture! I am reluctant to write this review because I don't want this place to blow up even more than it already has. I've been going to Dr. Lu for years now. It's some kind of sorcery. After assessing someone for a few seconds, he's able to pinpoint the cause of someone's pain. He does several positions while adjusting and then you're good as new! You also receive some type of therapy depending on what your needs are. They have the stretchers and the electric pads. He also gives you a ton of helpful pointers for keeping your body in alignment and pain free. It's pretty amazing how skilled and knowledgeable this man is. Every time I visit, it's a completely different approach to helping me with my aches. He's old school, a nice person and pretty entertaining to talk to. He really just wants to help his patients feel better and takes his time. Mary, who is the office manager, is also such a great resource and so helpful. She can answer all of your insurance/payment questions and always tries her best to squeeze you in when you really need to see the doctor. I just visited today. They are very serious about their COVID protocols. Appointments need to be made in advance, they limit office hours and number of patients, take temperatures before allowing visitors in, sanitize pens after each use, change sheets and wipe everything down once they are done with each client. Masks and gloves are mandatory. Definitely give this place a try! :) read more

As a result of the pandemic and WFH, my home set up was set up quickly and with not thought of how it would affect my body. After 10 months from WFH, my back couldnt take it anymore. I went to see Dr Lu for help. After much therapy (about a year, I was bad) and setting up my WFH desk according to Mary's advice, I am 100x better and aligned. It's not a 1 or 2 visit thing and you're better. This really takes time to get your body the way it should be. Not only does my body feel better, I also no longer have severe headaches. I've been a patient of Dr. Lu's for over 3 years now and have nothing but great things to say about his chiropratic magic and his office staff. I originally came to him for a pain in my hips and butt, and have also gone to him for care from injuries and muscle overuse. For serious injuries, he's been able to provide immediate relief. For routine check-ins, I like to think that my body is getting a much needed tune up, and that I feel like a gazelle after treatment. I am always impressed with how observant and quick Dr. Lu is able to identify and address problem spots and muscles that are holding my movement back. Unlike other chiropracters, who stick to a script of adjustments. Instead, Dr. Lu goes over and beyond for his patients, while keeping manipulations conservative and concentrating a lot of his efforts on getting muscles to release tension. I'm also a huge fan of his traction machine, it is best form of medieval torture and I feel like I stand 5 inches taller after every time I use it. I'd also like to acknowledge his great office staff! Mary and Elaine are both friendly, kind and helpful. They work tirelessly to keep the office safe for their patients during the ups and downs of the pandemic. They do a great job of keeping patients socially distant and not crowded in both the waiting and treatment areas. Their office is very careful regarding COVID safety measures. Been visiting Dr Lu for the past three months and honestly I have never felt better. I had no idea how bad my body was jacked up with years of bad posture to the point I wasn't breathing correctly. Doctor Lu took his time to assess my pain points and providing much needed insights on how to break bad habits when it came to my posture, especially working remotely from home. During the adjustment, he makes you feel at ease and you walk out feeling like a complete new person, no pain or aches. Let me start by saying this is my fifth chiropractor I've been to because I couldn't seem to find someone who understands the pain I'm in. My first consultation with Dr. Lu, he already knew where I was hurting in places I didn't know I was. My shoulder blades, my tennis elbow, tendinitis, neck, and hips needed major adjustment. I knew coming in I was going to need more than one session. My condition was bad before WFH, but after I couldn't even get out of bed..I was hopeless unless I came here. Office could be cleaner the receptionist area is full of clutter and dust! It really needs to cleaned up and organized. They REALLY need to change the music in the waiting area. These people are in pain so bad that sitting can be uncomfortable and you're blasting rap w/ horrible static?? How about some commercial-free lite office music? As far as the treatment goes, Dr. Lu was very thorough and considerate. I have to say some of the equipments looked like they were straight out of the twilight zone but I could care less as long as they can fix my disjointed shoulder. I can't say the pain went away after 2 treatments but it did help alleviate it temporarily. It's a lifestyle change from all the things I did/didn't do this past decade. sucks. I happened to be in the office area and heard everything...He refused to keep his own mask over his nose and the receptionist offered him a surgical type to wear, saying it was required. He WENT OFF on an ugly tangent. Just because he is "Asian" does not give him the right to call her an "asian moron" which he did.....to her face. Then throw everything in the wastebasket and leave. He acted as that "asian moron" that he reported....... Not her!!!!!! Dr Lu and his staff are over the top professional.......i know with covid, everyone is stressed out. I've been dealing with extreme neck pain from a car accident, and chronic TMJ. My posture didn't help the pain either. I'm extremely guilty of sitting in less than optimal positions at work when I "get in the zone". Got to a point where the pain was unbearable and I could barely lift my arms above my head without it throbbing. That was my tipping point, and I decided to visit Dr. Lu. I'm so glad I did. After my first session, the pain was noticeably less. When I first started going to Dr. Lu, my pain scale was at a constant 9 or 10. I've been going for about 8 weeks now and my pain's at a consistent 2. I've been to other chiropractors who were great, but I've never experienced such quick results with previous doctors. I am extremely happy I found this place just down the street from me! The staff is super welcoming and very thorough, I literally felt like they left no stone unturned in asking questions about my daily habits... something I have not had with other chiropractors. Once I met for Sherman, he is soft spoken but also very detailed! He adjusted my back with just 1 try, usually for me - it take a few tries but he adjusted so great and felt immediate relief. I was also given a lot of tips as to why certain things happen and how to correct them that I have not had jn the past! This practice overall is great! I got a referral from my primary physician for my back pain, after i made an appt, which was easy and i get to go in the same day, i arrived at this kinda run down hole in the wall place, its not the cleanest or prettiest place but hey, maybe they are too busy with patients, helping them to feel better or something. I even mentioned to the girl that the exam room looks like a torture chamber or something with their medival looking bed with straps hanging down like it would just grab you and tie you up or sonething . Then the doctor even puts in a couple of skeletons in the room so you can really freak out. Now with my personal experience with dr Lu, i cant say it was a pleasant one, i feel like he is a very judgemental person, he critizied my way of living, sitting, standing etc and said that i have back pains coz i did that to myself by not sitting and standing right. Well shit, i told him this is what ive known and been doing all my life, he then said well its sad that when youre bad at something and you didnt even know that youre bad at it,,, holy mother of god,, who do you think you are? Lol i just got up and left. Im sure dr Lu is a very capable doctor in his field and im not doubting his ability, but i have questions in his personality and courtesy. Dr Lu is by far the best chiropractor I've seen. To give him a 5-star rating is an understatement of his amazing healing power. I am sure many people would agree, he deserves a 10-star rating!!!!! I'm not the type that likes to see drs unless I have no choice. Each time I visit Dr Lu, I'm literally in so much pain I either can't turn my neck, or move my legs, or my arms, etc. But after one visit, 80% of the pain will subside by the next day. I've been coming here every so often since 2008/2009 for my back. Being so physically active, I'm pretty much here for life and would be here every week if time and money ($50/session) permitted. I usually get seen within half an hour of checking in, but my longest wait was two hours. Length of actual service varies, but it averages to about half an hour. I highly recommend asking for a less-busy period. - Since two Yelpers have already asked, this place does accept credit cards and insurance. read more

My spine is now perfect! And I'm almost a full inch taller! But most importantly, my lower back doesn't hurt anymore. A few years ago I went to see him because I was pretty much crippled with lower back and hip pain from hiking and Heavy lifting workout, he got me totally pain free just in few weeks treatment. I normally never write a review. But something prompt me to do so.. I get these pinch nerve every so often, my sister says it's bc I dint drink enough water. So I thought this was an excellent place to get my pinched nerve fix but it seems like everyone wrote some great reviews here. But honestly I had better....let me to you why.. First he does the exams and tells me to sit up, and I'm like well...I'm hurting and pinch nerves is no joke. Gets me over to the electro stimulator, which was old and crappy. The girls couldn't even adjust it correctly. In fact one of them didn't even work on my shoulders..my vibrator does a better job of stimulating me. Next was the massage, and the cracking of the neck that was ok. But I really expect more especially if you're going to pay $98!! Really?! And the second.. Well.. Same shit I thought the second visit was a follow up not some ploy to pay again. Don't go here and save ur money. Seriously. And it didn't help me recover, I felt more pain in other areas, and just went to another place. If I could I would ask for my damm money back if I could. read more

Made a visit last week for a sprained neck and I was extremely pleased with the service I got. The staffs were friendly and efficient and they even took me in despite a tight schedule as I was in much pain. Although during my first visit, I had to wait a really long time, I feel like I was overall really satisfied with my visit after I had left. I had been having really bad rib pains for a couple days now (probably 4 now?). I had hurt my rib after I leaned over the middle console in my car and I think that probably bruised my ribs. Dr. Lu was very gentle and examined my ribs very carefully. He told me I most likely bruised my rib bone and tore my cartilage. For treatment, he had me do some electrical therapy and gave me some muscle relaxants. I then came in again the next day and had the same treatment again. My rib is feeling a little better today, but there is still pain. Dr. Lu is a very professional chiropractor. He is easy to talk to and is very nice. During my first visit, I almost fainted from low blood sugar (hadn't eaten all day). He quickly gave me some candy and also a korean pastry to help raise my sugar level! So nice of him. I can tell he really enjoys what he does. I would definitely recommend coming to Dr. Lu's Clinic if you are having any kind of muscle or bone pain! read more

Dr. Sherman Lu is a miracle worker! I'm a drummer. I've played in rock bands, jazz bands, marching bands, and solo playing. I've worn big heavy drums and moved my own gear for years. I've had all kinds of problems like sore back, tendinitis, rotator cuff injuries, etc. I've seen many chiropractors and massage therapists over the years, but none of them could match Dr. Lu's diagnosis, treatment, and therapy to not only get my back in alignment, but fix my bad posture and gait habits.
