I went here a year ago to fix some hip and neck issues, but left with the same pain. Nothing was done. I was given a "massage" and an "neck adjustment". If it weren't for me insisting that my neck still felt the same the chiropractor wouldn't have flimsily rotate my neck left and right. I didn't really want to ask for anymore because they didn't give me the impression that they new how to adjust or even massage so I called it a day - i was testing out many chiro clinics anyways. The massage was insanely uncomfortable and odd. It was more like I was getting a chakra cleanse than having my muscles massaged. I was going to let it go and move on because I only spent 25 out of copay, but late I saw in the statements that they charged my insurance for an X-ray, but they verbally told me that they didn't do X-rays. Seems like a fishy place to me. read more

History on the wall Wow....this chiropractor has been around.. He's got quite a museum in the entrance. Pictures of actors, actress's, and all the places he's traveled to over the years...and a lot of different people he's met.. Hear your bones crack, your back go crack and your neck get that eerie feeling when they crack that. I've always hated someone cracking my neck... I've been to a handful of chiropractors since I got into a car accident a couple years ago. My company provides a discount program with Landmark where I can have up to 10 appointments per year for $15 per appointment. I was researching for a holistic chiropractor since I've enjoyed their treatment style in the past. I called multiple chiropractors to see if they provided holistic chiropractic. Philemon Tam's office answered the phone right away answering any questions I needed. I read the raving Yelp reviews about his office so I booked my appointment right away. I love how flexible his office is on making appointments. Sometimes when pain in my back or neck comes suddenly, I don't have the foresight to make an appointment. Their staff are always willing to fit me in even without an appointment to do a drop-in. Philemon, his wife, and his son are so friendly and funny. They never cease to make me smile and laugh because they're so lighthearted. His wife is so generous and often gives me snacks like pastries. Unlike many chiropractors who have treated me, Philemon and his staff take the time to do electrostimulization, massage, and chiropractic. The appointments are about 45 minutes long and I feel refreshed after the session. I'm so thankful to have found Philemon's office because they're so friendly, welcoming, and professional. read more

Very comprehensive treatment at Dr Philemon's office! You will be assessed and treated by the chiropractor, massage therapist, and acupuncturist (she's excellent!) all the while being entertained by the office manager (Dr Philemon's wife?) who brings you pastries in between treatments. If that's not treating patients like family I don't what is! I called for a same-day appointment due to severe pain that made it difficult for me to walk. The treatments were effective for me & I was able to resume my normal activity that evening. Thank you, Philemon team! (FYI: The clinic is small & crowded with stuff but patient equipment is clean so I'm able to look past it. However, if you are bothered by crowded spaces you may walk in & out.) read more

Like others have said, the interior of this office is quite outdated. However that does not take away from the great service you will receive here! I came in the other day due to some terrible neck and back pain. I initially saw one doctor who did a preliminary evaluation. After I told her what my issues are she put me in a room with a heating pad and TENS device hooked up to my back. After a little while a massage therapist came in to massage the area. After that the chiropractor came in to perform the adjustment. Everyone in the office was very kind and friendly to me. They were all very professional and the service was excellent. I have a history of back and neck issues. Old injuries, repetitive stress injuries, my occupation, the computer, etc. Recently, a little headache started at the base of my neck. I thought it might be something like a migraine coming on. I took the usual tylenol and stretched the muscles some and couldn't get up and out of bed in the morning. The pain was crippling. At the base of my neck, up the back of my head and pounding like a jackhammer on my forehead. But only on the right side. I couldn't hold my head up. Couldn't stand light. And honestly thought it was a migraine. But when the migraine didn't go away after 4 days, I knew there was something wrong. (Yes, some migraines last for DAYS.) Husband got some info from our insurance network regarding Chiropractors in our area. No one answered their phones and let the call go to voicemail! Not a good way to run a business, or get new clients, folks. Dr. Tam's office took the call, and asked me to come in right away. Wow. When I got there, it was a funky old office, like they had been there for eons. I found this to be warm and comforting. I get really scared when I visit a Chiropractor that has a super slick polished Beverly Hills design or feel to the office. You know they're gonna stick it to you or the insurance. The first person I met was Dr. Tam's wife. She came out asked me if I was okay, I wasn't. Immediately she returned with a icepack and some cranberry juice. Super friendly, and nice. I was taken in quickly. Got some electrotherapy stuff, some ultrasound, a deep tissue massage, and more ultrasound. I walked out feeling about 20 percent better. Came back a total of 3 times and I was fixed. We learned via x-rays that I have arthritis, pinched nerve with bone spurs. Once we knew what was going on we worked together to treat the issues. What really struck me about this Dr. and his team is their friendly and compassionate nature. They really connect with people. They really care about people. And they make you feel like you're one of the family or close circle of friends. Which, when I think about it, is as it should be. I'll be back, hopefully not soon, but I will be back. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover! No, seriously. Dr. Tam's office has been operating for decades and it looks it. But I take it that means he has been successfully running his practice for that long so who cares. I train MMA and for me injuries are just part of my daily routine sometimes. However, when I developed this persisting aweful pain in my right arm that won't go away for 4 weeks I decided to do something about it and actually my 1st choice was to go to orthopedics doc. After checking me, he suggested I get X-ray and maybe MRI to diagnose me then he will begin treating me. When I asked after all that how he is planning to treat me, he told me rest and PT. Well I didnt need all that to rest and PT so I declined and instead went to Dr.Tam. He has been now treating my pinched nerve for few weeks and I must tell ya, for the 1st time in weeks, I'm off painkillers. Amazing!!! Dr.Tam seriously knows his stuff and he will fix ya up. Did I mention he is funny as heck and super cool? I'm so going to see him on regular bases even after my nerve pain goes away bc I know he will keep me healthy between all my crazy intense trainings. Ok! I don't normally trust chiro but I was recommend by a friend to visit Dr. Tam to get my neck and back adjustment. Their interior looked very outdated but wall full of celebrity photos got me convinced to stay. Treatment lasted about 45min to an hour and to my surprise my neck pain was gone a day later.
