I went to this place based on the positive Yelp reviews. However, clearly reviews aren't everything and people have not had their attire SHRUNK 1/2 inch and supposedly dry cleaned. 3 items took 7 days for us to get and my wife's jacket is half an inch shorter on the sleeves and cut. It also doesn't smell like it was dry cleaned like the other 2 jackets. My top coat also has dog hair on it, and I don't have a dog. Did they use the spa at Petco for cleaning?! This is the first time and last time I will come here, especially after being told I can pick up on a holiday, when they were closed! What a waste of time and gas. Now I have to pay another $40 for a real [professional] dry cleaner. read more

I kid you not! I have lived in this area for 40 years and Lucas valley cleaners is absolutely the best i have seen in the bay area and I tell you why. I am 58 years old and i have worked in the financial district all my life always have shirts and pants I dry clean, i was always searching to find a decent dry leaner, my wife actually met Linda the owner, she is amazing too but that takes a whole new review. This is getting too long let me get to the point, Shirts,- no other dry cleaner and i challenge you to check your current cleaner could press the sleeves by your arm pits, these guys press your shirt you cant find a single line, Pants. They do an amazing job i ask for line or no line, on the pants. thats another thing, Linda will never forget what you ask for. And finally, I had 4 white shirts. Very expensive summer shirts I had only used once in a wedding What do you do in a weddings? You dance!. The beautiful white shorts because of too much dancing and sweeting collar. Was yellow, now these are shirts from 5-6 years ago old stain i was about to trash the shirts. I had used other cleaners they returned the shirt pressed with a yellow collar, then showed to some other cleaners they would not take it. I was about to trash the shirts, when my wife stopped me. and i am so happy she did. She asked me to ask linda, and if linda couldn't clean it i would trash them.OMG. Not only she was able to remove the sweet stIns from 6 years ago. The shirt got their original color white back. That hue that old shirt have off white, i have 4 new white short. This was amazing i could not believe Lucas vAlly cleaners Cleaned and removed a stain from 4 shirts None of the big shops could, Max cleaners the large san rafael. Shop, they are a joke, they cant even press right. And they charge an arm and a leg. Anyhow i think i said enough, if you live in this area try these guys chat with linda she is great! I had a problem with heavy grease stains(cheeseburger) on two different shirts. Naturally, they were my two favorites. We tried soaking them in OxyClean for a couple of days(we were out of town) to no avail. Came home and took them here. They came out as good as new. I cannot recommend this dry cleaners enough. If you have anything tough or just general dry cleaning, you have to try this place! And Linda, the new owner, has done a terrific job in remodeling and her personality is the best. I had two pairs of pants which had oil-based spots that for some reason had set in using an instant stain remover pen. My dry cleaner made two attempts to get them out but couldn't. I took them, along with some shirts, to Lucas Valley Cleaners and they had no trouble getting the pants to look perfect. Shirts looked better than my dry cleaner too! As you probably guessed I now have a new dry cleaner, and highly recommend them! read more

Went to Lucas valley cleaners a few time and had little to no problems with them, but they totally dropped the ball the last time I dropped off my dress shirt. The person working there told me that my shirt would be ready by Wednesday, for sure, and went in to pick up on Thursday and the shirt was still not ready. Mind you that I dropped off my shirt on Saturday the previous week. Disappointed in the service to say the least. read more

After the first cleaner I tried in San Rafael was awful I decided to try one near my job. Lucas Valley Cleaners was on the higher end of price for laundering and pressing men's dress shirts at $2 each but I'm happy to pay it if they come back with no problems. Sadly I've had issues both times I've gone in. The first time I had a black shirt come back with some sort of solvent mess all over it. Thankfully it washed out and the shirt was OK. The second batch came back with several missing and broken buttons. Before I moved to the North Bay I had a cleaner who charged $1.50 a shirt and was perfect every time - replacing buttons as needed and always cleaned and press flawlessly. read more
