I had been a client for 2 years so without issue.....until now. In November 2025, after my last treatment, I cancelled my monthly plan, in person, with the receptionist, due to moving to another city and I couldn't commit to follow ups etc. I was told my plan was now cancelled and it was all taken care of. WELL, fast forward, I discovered this week, payments were being deducted from my credit card still. (Card that I don't use often so I didn't notice and my receipts were sent to my junk folder) I then wrote to Lucere explaining the payments and asked for a reimbursement of the incorrectly taken funds. Finally after 4 emails and 2 voicemails, I received a response and was told that my in person cancellation didn't count and because I didn't write an email I'm still liable for payments. WHY WOULD I SEND AN EMAIL WHEN IT WAS CANCELLED IN PERSON, and WHERE I WAS TOLD IT WAS ALL TAKEN CARE OF!!!!! Especially when I was told there wasn't anything further I needed to do after confirming with the receptionist. This is utter BS and I feel after my loyalty this is a huge slap in the face and that my money has been stolen. I am being told that I have store credit.... that I literally can not use or even want as I have no reason to ever come to Edmonton anymore. So I changed my 5 star review to 1 because this place has gone downhill and now I am suffering and off work because of it. Dr. T is still the best dermatologist, but his staff on the medical side are terrible. I had previously gotten my Botox for migraines Rx from here and after my injection nurse moved to another place, who I trust with this delicate procedure, I stayed with her. I got an injection in February and need it every 11 weeks to stay functional without debilitating migraines. I knew my Rx needed renewal and so for 11 weeks, I left voicemails, texts, and finally got one call back more than a month after initially trying. The nurse said, yep, not a problem, have shoppers fax over the request. I did this TWICE. Left more messages and nothing. Finally I called the cosmetic side and they went over and got the explanation of why it had not been filled. Since I was not getting injected there, they would not fill it. OK FINE, BUT DON'T TELL ME YEAH NO PROBLEM AND THEN IGNORE ME SO I HAVE TO FIND A NEW DOCTOR LAST MINUTE. I was 3 weeks behind my treatment and can't work because I am in so much pain. Nice to know I am treated as a dollar sign and not cared for as a patient. Take your money somewhere else, this staff doesn't give a hoot about your well being - you are merely a cash grab. I waited 3 months to get into see Dr T for a mole check and to look at some patches on my face. I told his assistant I was also concerned about my Rosesea. He is very pleasant but spends less than 3 min with you. he took a very cursory look at my skin. I felt like I was on an assembly line. He zapped me with some liquid nitrogen and I was on my way. I could not be happier with my experience here. I got lip injections from Nurse Holly because I had a very thin (nonexistent!) top lip and I wanted some symmetry, holly exceeded my expectations! My lips now look fabulous and nobody can even tell they were done! I would 10/10 recommend this office, they are professional and incredibly knowledgeable at what they do. TATTOO REMOVAL ~ PICOSURE Laser. I received great results removing remaining green ink from a previous attempt to remove a tattoo. After 6 treatments with a Ruby Diamond Laser, my tattoo was completely removed with the exception of the color GREEN. The GREEN remained. I came to LUCERE at the recommendation of my family physician who was highly confident in Dr. Zaki Taher's abilities, and equipment. After my first procedure to tackle the remaining green of this tattoo, it was almost gone. I was extremely happy with the result knowing one more treatment would most likely break up the remainder of the remaining green exposing my natural skin. SO PRETTY! Keep in mind although pico sure laser is revolutionary I had had six treatments on this specific tattoo with a ruby diamond laser before coming to LUCERE. My treatment MAY have been cut to 3 or 4 applications, had PICOSURE technology been available 14 years ago! I think it's important to note that my initial laser removal applications were in 2004. Keep in mind, laser technology moves slowly.... some lasers have not changed. Ruby diamond lasers are still used & are effective. From my personal experience, removing a hard to lift tattoo, PICOSURE worked best for me, my ink & my skin. All areas you will want to discuss with your technician BEFORE treatment. BE realistic and you won't be disappointed. My understanding is the same machine can be used for discolouration in pigment, sunspots, age spots, skin staining etc. LUCERE, Offers procedures such as Botox, Injectors & fillers. If your into that their clinic has a Spa/clinic feel to it, luxurious. They offer a wide variety of skin care and cosmetics products. I was looking to get a consult for botox. I met with one of the botox specialist and we discussed what I was looking for. I had explained some health issues I currently face and wanted to understand the options and procedures as well as the pricing. I could not believe the price that I was quoted. Astronomically high, I was also told that I should get extra botox since it will cause a domino effect The botox specialist seem to not be paying attention as she was offering suggestions regarding prep and as an RN you would hope that she will know what is ok or not for a client. When first walking in, this place smells like burning hair which may also be for hair removal. Wait time is like most clinics the more people the longer the wait. Staff is friendly and parking is cramped, shared among other stores nearby. Once in the waiting room, it doesn't take long for the doctor to see you and prescribe products or solutions. Very swift but makes you question if they are treating you for you. I notice that they promote their products so expect a possibility of purchasing an item on your way home. Sitting waiting and waiting and waiting. 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment. I waited 3 months for it so I guess another 45 minutes is expected. Finally in to see the nurse. OOPS. She called Misa not Lisa. But she's going to see me anyways. Didn't ask about family history or anything. Guess she doesn't care that skin cancer runs in my family. Oh well. I should be thankful I am now waiting for the doctor, right? Doctor comes in. It's officially 1 hour past my scheduled appointment. He zips through everything in about 5 minutes. I'm not exaggerating. Writes a prescription (which I find out later is not available in Edmonton due to a manufacturer shortage). Tells me the mole I have isn't worth removing. The scar would be bigger. That's BS. My doctor in Calgary removed my moles all the time. I guess he also doesn't care about the fact that skin cancer runs in my family. I will go back to my regular Dr and get a referral to a different dermatologist or phone up the one I saw on Calgary and make a special trip to see him. This was very disappointing and useless visit. I don't care how nice the Dr was it wasn't worth the wait and he dismissed my concerns like I was making a big deal out of nothing. Oh I forgot to mention that the doctor told me I had "age barnacles" yeah I'm sure that's a medical term. What a quack! read more

I had a bad experience with Botox injections for tmj relief. I went to Lucere for a consultation for Botox injections for relief from tmj dysfunction. I had a prescription for 100 iu of Botox. The person I had talked to informed me that she didn't need to use 100 units, in fact it was to much and unnecessary. She suggested instead that I don't fill the prescription and instead I buy 30 units directly from them for $300. I brought up my concerns that my specialist suggested 100 units, and that the discomfort and muscle spasms are concentrated in my temples rather than my tmj, and maybe we should consider the 100 units spread out among my areas of concern. She was adamant that if she were to use 100 units on me it would have serious negative effects. After drawing up the 30 units she told me that 30 units is all she will be able to use because of the size of my jaw, but she has doubts it will even work because of the limited volume she can use. After preforming the injections she immediately began to tell me that if I filled the prescription for the 100 units she could have used it in all my areas of concern and it would have had the potential for more positive effects that I was looking for, but she said " we will try that next time if this doesn't work". I didn't like the fact that I brought up what I wanted to do, she told me it wasn't possible, then instantly after I paid more money per unit then I intended to pay she explained to me how it would have been better to use 100 units spread out like I wanted to do originally. I think next time I will just go to someone who specializes in tmj dysfunction and Botox injections. read more

I've been here a couple of times -- once to see Dr. Taher for myself, and once with someone else who was seeking a different treatment. Each time the receptionist staff has been pretty helpful and we've been able to go in for our appointments or consultations pretty quickly and it hasn't been a waste of time or anything. Treatments or procedures or examinations have all been pretty good on the whole. I'd come back if I needed to visit a dermatologist again. read more

First off I really do like Dr Taher. He is very personable, does not rush you with your appointment and is very informative on the who what why and how if any procedure. The clinic is very clean and contemporary without being too intimidating and the staff that I have met seemed very nice. Only reason it's 4 stars and not 5 Is because I felt that the filler and dysport (sp?) did not last as long as when I received these services from another clinic. Alright let's get right down to the facts. If you're going to review Amphora, then review amphora not Lucere. I'll be giving the facts about Lucere dermatology within the review below. Let's start with the front end. The girls are always there, unless they are seating a patient or helping the other staff in the back. They do their best and are always professional. The interior itself is modern, bright, and beautiful. In between rooms there is a seating area which is meant to relax you as you are served a beverage, very nice touch. I have had multiple laser and co2 appointments with Dr.Taher. During a house fire at a young age I was left with third degree burns that left scars, and required skin graphs. In my Twenties I attempted scar revision at a big name dermatology clinic. A lot of money was spent with basic changes but nothing to noticeable. Having made that above statement, after meeting Dr.Taher for multiple mole removals, he talked with me and told me that he would like to try some laser fraxil and CO2 on me, but was also clear about his abilities and what I could expect. I was apprehensive at first due to past experience with the other clinic. His bedside mannerism was so good that I decided to have a session with him. His technique was amazing, I'm not just saying that to say it. Skin graphs don't just start to blend or go away, they are there on your body for life. Dr.Z. Has been able to change my graphs appearance, blend, and smooth them out. I haven't had this kind of success before. I don't expect to look perfect because it's not possible, but I expected to see a difference and I'm happy with that. Another thing.....the price is generous and you're paying for that laser equipment which btw....it is not cheap. Also, the man needs to pay himself, staff, and not to mention a businesses overhead costs......so when I see other reviews complaining about price or making comments about "their bread and butter" it pisses me off because it just shows you have no idea the costs involved with running your own business......and btw I've had a little Botox done, you get what you pay for, if you don't want to shell out the cash then age naturally. I have had a little more laser done, and I will be going back for a few more sessions on different areas that need work done. Laser and Co2 need time to heal, true results take months to show, so take it slow with yourself and give it time. I know this clinic inside out, I have met the majority of the staff, and I am very happy I found Lucere Dermatology. Dr.Teher is well educated and has lots of experience. His assistants and staff are extremely proficient at their jobs. If you need some work done, make a or get a consultation and find out what's possible. I went in to see Dr Taher as my cystic acne had come back. He was friendly, and has also done Fraxel on my mom (who absolutely LOVES her results) and was helpful with putting me back on accutane, but only one pill every second day. He also put me on something to help with my hair loss (I have been feeling very self conscious about it). He took a look and saw a lot of regrowth and said that it was, ironically, caused in part, by my 1st treatment of accutane from another Dr a few years back. He said that this pill should help with the hair also. Front staff was super friendly, only reason I didn't give 5 star is because I felt they were pushing their hair loss products on me WAY too hard. I could have bought the same kit at Shoppers for a lot cheaper. Other than that i LOVE this place :) read more

I've been seeing Dr. Taher at Lucere Dermatology for a few years now. Dr. Taher is handsdown one of the best doctors I've ever been to. He shows great compassion towards his patients. He has a genuine care for his patients well being and his practice. All the staff are lovely. You can tell they love their job and share the same passion as Dr. Taher. Dr. Taher got me to see Neetu to help me with some scarring and pigmentation on my skin. She performed special laser treatments on my face. Edit: Misleading advertising and poor customer service. ! went to get my mole checked for cancer here, long wait, Doctor was nice, Okay overall. However later that month I a very different experience. I am MoH for a friend's wedding. We attended a Bridal Spa day, they went over treatments and served us cappuccinos and food. The staff were very friendly on that day. Funnily enough, they are a lot nice when you might buy Botox then if you might have cancer. I guess they know on which side their bread is buttered. We were told about a deal for manicure, pedicure and make up for the big day. It is still listed on the website. We asked several times if this included a trial, and were told it was included. We spoke to several staff and booked for the the whole bridal party. A month before the wedding we are called and told they they will need to charge us an extra $50 per person. My friend spoke to several staff and they seem confused and would not give us the deal mentioned when we booked. While the new price was okay, some of the bridesmaids do not have the budget for the extra cost on short notice. Now its 1 month to the wedding and we are frantically scrambling to find another place to fit us in. They decided to change the price on us a month after we booked, and a month from the wedding. I find this behavior suspicious. So to anyone else going here for a deal, beware of surprise costs! read more

Went in for a consultation and had it with Lea. This lady was already trying to sell me a $150+ exfoliant and said that she swears by it because she uses it...yeah right , like I'm that stupid that I'm gonna believe you hey. Prices were out to lunch as they charge $199 plus GST for the silk peel and normal peels are starting 135 and range all the way to 225. Also not the mention there are many places within the city that give these services for way cheaper . Like a silk peel I can get from 150-170 and a hydrafacial for 150 from experienced medical technicians . I do not need to pay these people for their overpriced scam services. read more

Saw Dr. Taher for a lipoma removal. Nurse Lilli was his assistant. Both of them were fantastic. Lilli was extremely gentle when giving me the freezing and she explained everything I needed to know for recovery. Dr. Taher removed my lump with no pain and no issues. Slightly disappointed that I was not able to get a treatment the day of my consult even though the receptionist said she would extend my consult appointment to account for it. I drove from spruce grove and when I arrived the lady who did my consult said that we wouldn't have time today since I was only booked for a consult (likely due to a booking discrepancy) Time is valuable (for anyone, not just me) so this was a bit of a let down. LOVE, LOVE,LOVE Lucere and Holly is the best! I had been seeing a doctor in Red Deer for over 10 years and had a few bad experiences. I started searching online and found that Lucere Dermatology was the top recommended place in Alberta to go to. I decided to go to the clinic to see what it was like for myself. I was impressed from the very first time I set foot in the clinic. After explaining my concerns to the receptionist, who really listened to what I was saying (thank you) she asked if I would be willing to wait a little bit to see if somebody could see me that day. A very short while later I was in Holly's office and she was able to fix a problem that had been plaguing me for 2 years and had a follow up visit for 3 weeks later. I went back for my follow up, had a couple more procedures done, (for far less than my previous clinic charged) and a treatment plan that is affordable and will keep me coming back for years. Holly is truly amazing, as well as everybody else that I have met there. The clinic is very busy, efficient and clean! Everybody that works there is friendly and knowledgeable and obviously love their job. After 10 years at my last clinic I was wary of this type of treatment centre but I can say with absolute certainty that Lucere Dermatology is the standard that all clinics should be trying to emulate. Clean place and the receptionist were pretty nice but overall my experience was very bad. I booked my appointment months ago yet I had to wait almost 2 hours to see the doctor. I went in to get my acne checked out as it was getting more severe. when I saw Dr. Taher, he took one look at my face and recommended I do laser. Mind you I'm a student and can't afford to get laser done so I asked if there are any cheaper less invasive treatments and he became very irritated. To be blunt I did feel like he was being rude to me because I wasn't an old white person who can probably afford getting shit removed and added to their body. I was literally there for 5 minutes before he gave me a bogus prescription for a topical treatment and basically kicked me out of his office. As I walked out, I noticed that his staff were literally all young white women except for one asian women. His behaviour towards me made sense as I am not white and for anybody who wants to say that he can't be racist because he's not white don't try it because even people of colour can be biased, especially men. would recommend this place if you're white but not if you're anything other than that. read more

I have been seeing the staff at Lucere for quite some time now. I've gotten to know the front and back staff of both Lucere & Amphora. For those that are confused Amphora is the Luxury Spa side and Lucere is the Dermatology and Laser Clinic, they are in the same beautiful space and really you will receive outstanding service on either side. My favorite is the candy bar in the Cosmetic Concierge. Lucere really truly looks and feels like a luxury spa, I know that may make some people nervous but I've shown up in my sweatpants and hoodie and felt more than welcome, LOL! I have received several different treatments and have never once been dissapointed. Having filler and botox and needles in your face can be scary, let's be honest, but Dr.T and the ladies are so great it's the most relaxed I've ever felt. Dr. T also is VERY thourough during your consult to discuss your expectaions and results so you know exactly whats gonna happen.
