We are so glad we stopped by and had dinner here. Luckily we arrived ahead of the dinner rush which made the timing of our meals perfect. We appreciated our waitresses attention and her hospitality. Since its been a least 6 months since I've eaten pasta, I was borderline giddy as you can imagine. I ended up ordering the Linguini Bianco which was white wine and cream sauce with shrimp, scallop, and mussels. The sauce was delicious and the noodles were cooked perfectly. My husband ordered his favorite, Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. We had warm bread with balsamic and oil dip as well as a side salad. What we really enjoyed about our Cesar salad was the small chopped tomatoes on top. Not a typical combination for us, but it tasted really good together. Overall, everything was excellent. Luciano's was recommended to me by a friend who grew up in Elko. We chose it over her other suggestions due to the specials showcased on social media. We made a reservation and were seated quickly upon arrival. The outer space near the bar is quite stylish. The back room where we ate was a big open room with lots of tables, and some half banquettes along the wall. We received a middle of the room two top in a truly hustling, bustling space. Our server was very friendly. We ordered a bottle of wine and a cocktail (very good prices). The bread served was phenomenal. We both ordered filet Oscar. What happened next was just bizarre. Drinks finally arrived along with frenzied delivery of a Cesar salad or similar in a tiny and very hot bowl. Entrees arrived before I'd had two forks of salad. Expecting actual filet Oscar, we received huge bowls of mashed potatoes with some hollandaise (maybe?) splashed on one side, a smattering of crab and lobster chunks on the other side, and a piece of meat in the middle. Both dishes were served like that so it must be the way they do it. The meat was definitely not a filet. It tasted ok but was incredibly tough and stringy and definitely a challenge to cut in that big bowl of potatoes. The seafood was fresh and well cooked. My sauce disappeared into the bowels of the bowl so I don't know how it tasted. The portion was massive but I just couldn't manhandle that steak. I picked at what I could salvage from this hot mess. Server never asked how anything was. Never got another cocktail. At least we had the wine! All in, it was $117 plus tip and that's very inexpensive. I just wish I'd known what I was going to get. I would have made another choice. I have to give kudos for the cheerfulness and hustle. It was a turn and burn in that place that night. I wouldn't go again when I pass through next, but if I lived in Elko I might. It seems like a locals place that had an off night, and we clearly didn't have the insider track on what to order. read more

I've had dinner at Luciano's 3 times. 2 of them were fantastic!!!!!! The last time (2 weeks ago) what I ordered was Terrible. The service was Fantastic at every visit I must say. Fantastic!!! The bad dish was the pepper corn duck. It was overcooked, chewy, fatty, and the vegetables that came with it were WAY undercooked. I was very disappointed. I ate a little of it and didn't make a scene. My server asked how things were and I told her not good and I'm guessing she saw that most of the bread plate had the dish I couldn't eat on it. The app I had was good. I ate it all. So the fabulous server took half off the entree with out any prompting and I appreciated it. Like I said great service and 1 bad entree won't have me abandoning a great restaurant. However, it was because of the service this time!!! Decided to check this out while I was in Elko on business. I was by myself so I was seated right away. It was a Monday night about 6pm so the place was not overly crowded but had several tables occupied. I ordered the portabella mushroom appetizer, the chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and a desert. The bad: I had a difficult time finding the place as the sign has very small lettering. The parking is crowded. The acoustics for fine Italian dinning are not great. For the amount of people in the dining room, it was a bit loud for a quiet dinner. The good: The staff was extremely attentive and courteous, very professional, yet friendly. I asked for suggestions and the waitress gave a few suggestions with detail information. The portabella mushroom looked like a hot mess but was very delicious. The Italian sausage was mildly sweet with a bit of spice, but not too spicy. The marinara had good flavor, but the cheese on top could have been melted better as it appeared to get slightly crispy in the broiler. The fettuccine Alfredo was good, but not great. The pasta was cooked perfectly, there were plenty of chunks of chicken, and the consistency of the Alfredo sauce was creamy and not too thick or too thin. The problem with this dish was lack of additional flavor. There was not much garlic, basil, or any other spices or flavors to taste in this dish so the Alfredo was nothing more than a white sauce. A little more wine, Parmesan, or garlic would have been a very nice addition to the white sauce. It wasn't bad, however I lost interest due to lack of flavor. After getting bored with the fettuccine I asked the waitress about the desert menu, which she was happy to explain to me. She mentioned a chocolate mousse cake which sounded like a good idea so I ordered it. Many restaurants make a cake with a chocolate mousse filling but this desert was all mousse with a little bit of cake, exactly what I wanted. The desert was divine and I was thankful that I didn't finish my fettuccine. Would I go back? Yes, the service was excellent but I would probably order something else. All in all I have had much worse experiences in Elko with food and service, so this was not all bad. read more

Great restaurant! When it comes down to Italian food it's either crap, ok, or amazing. This is definitely an Amazing restaurant! Atmosphere is good. The front of the building is quiet and the back gets louder. I sat in the back. I ordered a glass of the pinot noir. Great wine but a bit too sweet for the dish I ordered. Should have ordered a more dry wine. I did not order an appetizer because I'm always sceptical about Italian restaurants. I ordered the sausage and chicken with penne. This dish is easily one of the best Italian dishes I've ever eaten through the west coast. Sausage alone was incredible. The only problem I had with this dish was, I was having trouble with having enough penne with the sausage. That is a good thing. I've NEVER had that issue EVER. Heads up if you do order this dish, there is A LOT of food in this dish! Glad I didn't order the appetizer so that I could have more of this dish. Staff was good. The restaurant was busy when I was there. My waitress was very attentive and checked on me at least 5 time in the 45 minutes I was there. All in all great restaurant! What a find. Went through Elko on the way to Yellowstone. Found a very unassuming place behind our hotel, and what a place. Some of the best Italian food I've ever had. Food was great, and the servers were working their butts off to make everyone happy. Super good stuff guys. Keep it up. read more

I give 5 stars for a restaurant that goes above and beyond my expectations and Luciano's did just that. The service was top notch. The food was INCREDIBLE and I'm in the middle of Nevada. Seriously , I was very impressed. My lady had the Salmon with lobster risotto and I had eggplant lasgana. We shared both meals because we are true romantics and thats how we do it...nah, we just wanted to try each other's dishes. Went to Luciano's for the first and last time last night. Our server was great, cocktails were on point and they had my favorite Zin on the menu! Added with the great reviews, I had high hopes. All 3 entree's had to be sent back. The risotto was COLD and both pasta dishes were luke warm at best with undercooked pasta. The server did all that she could in trying to rectify the situation but at that point the damage was done. My two guests were polite and finished their meals, I could not. read more

Very nice place and nice staff. She was helpful with the vegan options making sure to ask the chef. They had a couple of options available to choose from. I had previously visited this establishment prior to this visit, and I was excited as I had a fairly good experience. However, this time, I had an experience that Ive never seen in my years of visiting and working within restaurants. I ordered a dish, subbed the pasta for another and had them change the sauce to a classic Alfredo. Once the dish arrived, it looked pleasant and the portion size was great. After 2 bites, I felt the dish was a bit plain tasting. I added some pepper and parmesan, and still it was very bland. A employee, who was not my server asked if I liked it, I told her it tasted pretty bland. My server then asked the same. After just settling on not wanting the dish, after approx 3-4 bites total. I told my server I don't like it, and would rather not have it. She was apologetic and nice. She informed me the manager wouldn't remove it from my bill because I changed the sauce. I told her that was ridiculous. If I wasn't allowed to sub I shouldn't have and there's nothing written saying substitutions are at customer risk. And I only had maybe 3 bites. Id understand if I ate half of it or if I was rude, but I was apologetic myself. The manger comes to me making it my fault I didn't like the dish. After my refusal of paying for something I don't like. She talked to the "owner". She returns a few moments later informing me that they will remove the dish but I'M NO LONGER ALLOWED IN THE RESTAURANT. I laughed in shock and informed her that if this is how they treat customers that aren't satisfied with their product, I would have zero desire to return. I could understand if I was rude or clearly trying to get something for free but neither were the case I hope others understand they can't modify their dishes without assuming all liability.. Update from my last 5 star review 3 months ago: If I could give them 6 stars, I would. In the last 3 months, my hubby and I have been here almost weekly for lunch. Our server that we never caught her name, its Erin and she owns the place with her husband Luc who is the chef. Erin knows who we are and our usual orders. She is always upbeat and provides wonderful service. We finally ventured in for dinner this evening to try the prime rib special. Holy smokes! Seriously melt in your mouth. The prime rib was smoked and served with a rice grain blend and sautéed spinach. So delicious. We have even had family from Vegas come here and say how wonderful the food and service is. Everything I have eaten here is superb. I love that they try to use local ingredients too. This is definitely our favorite place in Elko for an excellent meal and service, where they make us feel like friends. read more

We just had dinner at Luciano's. I had Grilled Chicken Alfredo and hubby had Shrimp and Sausage Artisan Pasta. Both were FANTASTIC. The Alfredo sauce is INCREDIBLE. The meals came with a wonderful Caesar Salad, and truly excellent bread. Our server was Scarlet; she was attentive, smiling and only appeared when expected. The last time I enjoyed a meal this much was at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. I was in absolute love, pure bliss, with my New York steak and crab with smoked salmon risotto. Couldn't stop eating. Just picked up takeout and I don't think I took a breath while eating it. Herb clams, avocado caprese and crab cakes - DELICIOUS. All of it.
