Way too much oil for a food.
    Joshua S.

Most of my families plates came out lukewarm. Raw prime rib was served. Wait time for food was an hour and ten minutes. The Blackened salmon was super oily. I hope the service does better training and the cooks truly focus on cooking the food. I also did not like watching other customers receive their food before ours.

Holy crap large chicken fried steak for $12.99.

We saw a sign on the road that advertised breakfast for $5.99. We packed up our trailer, and headed over here to have breakfast before we hit the road. Assistance really nice and she does. Even the Busser was really joyful and happy when she got us some water. The waitress is really busy, so the hostess took our order. Actually the hostess turned out to be the food and beverage manager lol. Her name was Mandy, and she was just really sweet and delightful. So we got first class service. I can see why the waitress were so nice and happy. A reflection of their food and beverage manager. Five people ate for $30. Amazing price, really large portions. The only downside two hour visit was the coffee. You would figure that someone would complain enough that they would get some decent coffee. It really was not good. It was more just like better water. And is the greasers the great prices and the large portions.

It's sad you advertise this for miles upon miles before getting to elko. I got intrigued by the signs , and then another sign as I got closer. The last sign states you offer steak and lobster. Seemed to good to be true. The grille is located inside the casino. The gold dust west to be more specific. As your walk in the place smells like cigarette smokes and alcohol. Which is normal I guess for a casino. I went straight to the grille. The people in the front were nice and courteous. It was about 3pm Sunday place was empty. I was seated by the front desk. After that it all went down hill. Nobody even batted an eye... never once said hi , or offered me a drink at all. I watched as people after people were sat after me and got attended to. Idk maybe it was because I was Latino ? Who knows. I decided to stay and see how long it would take for them to acknowledge me. 40 minutes ! Unbelievable for an empty place and only about 5 ppl in it. That's not all , an old lady cleaning the dinner was the one who actually made the effort to acknowledge me. She was a dishwasher I believe smh. She took my drink order and went go grab it. I ordered a beer. Then finally 10 minutes later the waitress walks up to me as if I just had sat down to take my order. I tried ordering the steak and lobster. Well guess what ? It's not available until after 5 pm lol. Well maybe you should advertise that on the signs outside smh. Anyways I ordered the ribeye with shrimp. In all honesty the food was decent. It's just a shame this place doesn't care for all people equally. I'd actually go to star inn hotel better in the same town. All in all bad experience. Will not be returning.

Prime rib, medium with mashed potatoes ($11.99)

"You get what you pay for." Our meal here was a prime example of this ol' adage. Driving into Elko, my eye caught the huge billboard advertising $11.99 prime rib! Oh what?! After some cajoling, I convinced the five others in my group to join me. The hostess advised us there was a thirty minute wait. Ok no prob. We circled around the casino and dropped a few bucks. Finally seated and hungry, we ordered drinks, then food. I asked our server, Ron, what medium rare vs medium was like here and he said medium rare is just sliced as-is and not warmed. What does that even mean? Medium it is then. Here is the lowdown: 1. It took forever for us to get our food! Other parties that were seated after us got their food, ate and left before we were served ours. 2. The prime rib was not medium. It was well done because it had been sitting under the heating lamp for so long. It was dry and tough. My bf ordered his medium rare and it was also well done. I didn't even bother asking to box leftovers, and I never do that. 3. The accompanying frozen veggies were so mushy, I couldn't even pick them up with a fork without them falling to pieces. 4. I usually don't call people out, but this was kind of crazy. Our server slammed the service door open TWICE because he was so PO'ed about something. Totally uncalled for, whatever the situation might be and really made us feel uncomfortable asking for anything lest we get some of that wrath. We were never asked about drink refills, we didn't get the shrimp we initially ordered when our entrees finally did arrive and the kids ate their chicken tenders with ketchup because it took forever to even ask for the ranch it was supposed to come with. We asked for our pies to go and the check and didn't look back. Lots of food for the price, but still not worth it for all the above reasons.

Excellent food. Had prime rib. Large portion. Delicious. Comes with free pie. $13 for prime rib dinner with baked potato, veggies, salad, roll and pie! Excellent value. The best meal we had in Nevada. Erica the manager is so friendly and makes you want to come again. I highly recommend. Don't miss out. I'll be back again every time I'm in Elko. I ate the prime rib too fast to take a photo but got the free pie to go so here's a photo of the Oreo pie. Yum!!! Thanks Erica! You're the best!

$12.99 special Prime Rib. Almost the most expensive item on the menu.

My servers name was. Julie. She was AWESOME. My food's name was 9.99 Prime Rib Special. It was GREAT! I'll just cut to the chase here. I went in because of the billboard and I wasn't disappointed. Was this some high class fancy dancy meal for $9.99? No. Do not delude yourself. However the cut of meat was good (check my photo) and the potato was perfect! (Not just because of the butter.) My service was spot on too! I've spend way more for a meal and gotten the complete opposite of service too. I probably will go back while I am in Elko on assignment. The smoke really wasn't noticeable, but I'm sure on a busy night it might get a little bad. So for this meal 4.1 stars. Just a little note though. The restaurant is on the east side of the building if you want to not walk through the casino. And I am really surprised they didn't require a club card to get the meal. Why did I give them 5 stars? Because some Jack gave them an undeserved 1 star a few months ago. In my opinion one star should be reserved for food poisonings, theft, hate crimes and stalking. 2 stars? Maybe.

From the lighthearted good energy country decor with bright color mixed with softer grays, there were things like bicycle on wall greeting us with the purpose of dreez. "FOOD " with the bike wheels forming the OO's, a cute family portrait of the namesake of this cafe, Dreez and a sign promoting strawberry lemonade mimosas! Next our server gave us a warm welcome and helped make decisions that involved a food sensitivity. And I haven't even got to the yummy food yet. My husband had the smaller of the two complete American breakfasts offered and it was quite a generous portion. A highlight was the sausage patties. I chose the half and half Benedict which was perfect because I couldn't decide between the two. I selected that one while still looking at the yelp app in my hotel room and it did not disappoint! Each half was huge. And the presentation was beautiful too. Wish I'd taken a picture! A specialty of Dreez' is the chili infused hash browns. They were great and full of flavor and had a delightful mouth feel. A bit of light crispy and just enough creaminess from the cheese and cream in them for balance. Though our super sweet and friendly server did tastefully warn against having them four days in a row for comfort sake, they were not overly spicy. Great flavors! I ordered their Greek Goddess omelet, which traditionally comes with sausage, but I subbed in shrimp instead and WOW this is my new favorite omelet! The combination of the feta, sundried tomatoes, and pesto delivered a lot zest and flavor in each bite. Please keep this item on the menu forever! I opted for a side of the country potatoes with my omelet, and was disappointed when they came out covered in bacon and cheese, as nowhere on the menu did it say they came with bacon and cheese. Just a small inconvenience, and it won't change the fact that this is our new go-to breakfast spot when we pass through again in the future.

Our server was extremely kind and explained the menu, process, and local favorites The Pico Punch had a touch of Vicks 44, but that's exactly what it should taste like. The quantities are huge. Cabbage soup broth was delicious. Italian bread would be better if warmed, but still good. The salad was robustly tossed and the dressing had a nice touch of garlic. The steak sandwich was tender and had an excellent marinade/flavor. Fries: very greasy and not their finest moment. We have family in Iowa and this all felt similar: Midwest friendliness, warmth, and good food. We were leaving at 445 and the line had grown to 20 for dinner! Appeared to be locals/regulars. As another noted, yes, there are brothels just down the street. Hey, it adds to the local charm!

It took a bit for our server to arrive to our table, but once there she was friendly and informative. We started with the spring rolls. They were mushy on the inside. It appeared they were wrapped with dumpling wrappers that were soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. We didn't prefer the texture. Hubby didn't like the sauce served with them but I did. We wouldn't order them again. We chose a spinach salad as the side to our entrees. It was fresh but overdressed. It became soggy very quickly. Hubby had the braised lamb shank special. He said it was fall off the bone tender. There were parts of it on the outside though that were too hard to chew, as if those parts had been outside of the braising liquid too long. The polenta was grainy and undercooked. Polenta should be smooth and silky. The sauce was too salty. I had the Basque Pasta. I asked the waitress if the mussels were fresh and she told me they were frozen. I never should have ordered the dish. The mussels were so dry and fishy tasting I couldn't eat them, and I love mussels. I even bit down on a couple of pieces of broken mussel shells. There was hardly any sauce so the noodles were dry as well. The cheese on top wasn't melted. I barely touched my dish. The servers, including ours, were working very hard and seemed to be providing everyone with great service. I'm giving 3 stars because of the food. I know it's a local fave, but we won't be back.
