I am getting married in two weeks and wanted to get a haircut and spa services to feel my best on my wedding day. Anna and her team outdid themselves! I did a shampoo, cut, hair treatment and style. My hair treatment was so luxurious, I almost fell asleep during the steam treatment that was included in the hair treatment. The scalp massage and shoulder/back massage was heaven. My hair is velvety soft and I left feeling amazing. I was even able to purchase an Olaplex 3 treatment so I can do one prior to my wedding day. Well priced, highly recommended! I came back the next month for a hot oil treatment and 1 hour facial, and had the most relaxing, luxurious facial massage (reminded me of a high-end Korean facial massage). My hair was soft and glossy and my skin was glowing afterwards, with a very reasonable price for both. The facial did need to be booked in advance, but I think you can do a walk-in for the other services. Years ago, my parents and I were looking for a new hair salon as our hair stylist moved out of state. My fiance recommended us this place as he has been going to this hair salon since he was a kid. They know how to style and cut hair. The salon is run by a lovely couple. Van has been our go to for hair cuts and has done such a wonderful job. Her husband is great as well! He specializes more in mens cuts. They accept cash only so cash or checks work. Theyre $11 for men and $13 for women. Overall, even though we moved farther south, we will continue to support them and drive our way up here. Theyre a little hidden but theyre right across McDonalds right next to FilCuisine. Stopped in to get my boys haircuts as our regular place was closed. The lady that cut their hair did a great job and was really fast! She was patient with my younger son who has a harder time sitting perfectly still. I think it was $24 total so quite a deal! The only downside which isn't their fault is that the plaza they are located in is sketchy, quite a few transient/drug users walking around yelling profanities and doing weird things. read more

My stylist was amazing she helped me chose a color that would look great with my skin tone and her pixie cut was precise and even, with no random long strands (like a much pricier salon left me with!) Came here for a quick fade. She did a great job. I've had great cuts that took 5 minutes and some 40 minutes. This was about 15 minutes. Good attention to detail and making sure she didn't miss any spots. The price is hard to beat, had to add a nice tip. Will definitely be back. read more

First time getting my hair dyed and I'm never doing it again, I'm so scarred. I asked for an ombre hair style and what I got was a straight line across my head and the color wasn't correct at all. It had colors I didn't even ask for. So upset I actually cried when I got home because of how fried my hair was for no reason and now I have to spend extra money to fix this mess. Not only that but she charged me 200 for the horrrrrrible job. Never coming here again. Waste of money and my hair. read more

This is a fantastic little family-owned salon! It's located on the right sie of a small strip mall that includes a 7-11, small ethnic restaurant and a laundromat, I think. Our family of three just started going to Hair Color Expert a few months ago with our last round of cuts after being referred by a friend who gets her cuts and color there. The owner did a superb quick cut on all of us for an incredibly reasonable price (basically it's the cheapest around, with or without a coupon). Don't expect a shampoo or any fancy stuff with your inexpensive cut, but do expect a fantastic, precise cut that looks good much longer than it should. The salon does have a larger flatscreen TV that can be seen from at least one of the chairs and seeing some cartoons on that plus munching on a banana helped distract my young toddler enough so he could get through the cut without the major fidgeting and crying that usually accompanies his haircuts these days. The owner was so good and patient with our little guy and honored my requests for adjustments here and there graciously. The salon does welcome walk-ins. However I'd strongly suggest making an appointment because it clearly has a large following and you may be asked to wait for quite a while or come back at a less busy time if it's too packed. No biggie. Also, last time my husband went in (early 9/2011), there was some issue with using a credit/debit card. I don't recall if the salon doesn't take them or if the machine was broken, but I'd suggest asking ahead of time if you can use plastic and/or just bringing enough cash with you to cover the cost of your service(s) and tip. In short, this is our new salon/stylist, and I'm sure that will be the case for a long time to come because the cuts and prices are so perfect! read more

I started going here on the recommendation of a coworker a couple of years ago. Because my hairstyle is as simple as it gets (no bangs, just trim the length to get the split ends), I have a hard time paying $20+ for a haircut. I've always had a pleasant experience here. The husband/wife team work well and have a loyal following of customers. This is a no frills salon but they do cut, color, perm (who does them these days? ;) ) waxing, just the basics. Appointments are recommended but walk ins are accepted. They try to accommodate you as best they can. They do not accept credit/debit cards but will take cash and checks. It helps to keep their costs down to keep their prices low. She was pleased and would come back again. I've never had my hair colored yet, but with the gray hairs now taking over my head, I may consider trying it soon. I wouldn't hesitate to come here for a first experience in hair coloring. read more
