Chef Ante was doing a soft open and it was just the local's and him and Tina running the front of house. This cute little house turned into a homestyle restaurant is AMAZING. Now if you think I"m just exaggerating, read any of my other reviews or know I'm a snob. Or even better come check it out for your self. How welcoming they were it felt like going to a loved families house and sitting down together for a home made meal. Because that is what it was. Food, I mean, come on! The lamb chops seasoned and cooked to perfect, nice char on the outside with a lite pink on the inside. The Ragu on home made tagliatelle was so beautiful, not to rich like some other you night have had, but able to taste all the flavor in the dish. A special if you can get it they were trying out here was the Chewapchichi (Cevapi), a form of Kofta / Meatball made in Chef Anton's Croatian style. That is not the Meatball that is on the menu in a soft tomato sauce!!! Basically we started with the Shrimp Tostada app and the Clams & Chroizo and just decided to ask for the whole menu for the family. I could go on, but just come see for yourself and enjoy for sure.

She did just the right amount of checking back. There when we needed her but never intrusive. The menu was very creative. One in our party had bison stew. Since it's near buffalo jump UNESCO site, really appropriate. Two had a gourmet hotdog. I had Cauliflower tacos. I am going to try to figure out how to make them when I get home. They were delicious! We are so happy we stopped there. We highly recommend them!

Sam, I appreciate the apology and the fact that you took the time to personally address the…read moresituation. I also respect that corrective action was taken with the staff involved. That said, I want to address one part of your response because I think it deserves some clarity. I never called your staff racist. I never called your business racist. I never claimed that race dictated how I was treated. I stated a simple fact about my experience: I was the only person of color in the restaurant. A factual observation is not an accusation. What is particularly interesting is that your response is the one that repeatedly introduces the subject of racism, ethnic diversity, and the racial makeup of your ownership and management. I never questioned the ethnicity of your owners, managers, or employees, nor did I suggest that their backgrounds somehow determined their behaviour. You don't need to defend yourself against an allegation I never made. I can acknowledge that the comment about my appearance was inappropriate, acknowledge that your staff have been reprimanded and received additional training, and still describe exactly how the situation looked and felt from my perspective. Those things are not contradictory. And with respect, whether the employees are "good kids" isn't really the point. Good people can make poor decisions, and accountability means recognizing the behaviour without needing to make excuses for the people involved. From what you've described, that's exactly what you have done--and I respect that. What I don't appreciate is having my words reinterpreted into something more inflammatory than what I actually said, and then being given an explanation for an accusation I never made. I described my experience. You supplied the accusation. I'm perfectly comfortable standing behind what I wrote, because I chose my words carefully. If me stating a factual observation made you uncomfortable, that doesn't make the observation unfair, discriminatory, or inappropriate. I appreciate your apology. I simply expect the same level of fairness in how my words and experience are represented. Sam, one last clarification regarding the shots. I have no issue acknowledging that our server was kind enough to get them for us, and I respect her gesture. But I would hardly consider something coming out of an employee's own pocket something the establishment should be presenting as evidence of its own generosity. If anything, that distinction makes the gesture more meaningful because it came from her personally--not from the business. We didn't ask for the shots, request them, or expect them. They were simply placed on the table. We also declined having the bill covered. So I would leave that particular detail alone. Attempting to use an unsolicited gesture from your server as a favourable footnote to the incident doesn't improve the story--it only highlights who actually showed generosity and professionalism that evening. I have said everything I needed to say. The record can speak for itself. I wish you, your staff, and your business continued success. For once and for all, consider the matter respectfully closed.
