Came here during my long day at Glacier National Park. We were sweaty and tired and needed some good food and beverage. We actually came to the lodge wanting to eat in their main restaurant, but the wait was immense, so we settled for a quick table we grabbed at this lounge. Ambiance was really cool. Small, quaint, classy, with some windows looking out upon the giant lake. Really good vibes. We had an excellent server who was just a chill dude who liked to engage in real conversation. He wasn't just in server mode. You know? As for the food, I ordered the Lamb Burger (Amaltheia Dairy Goat Cheese, Pickled Red Onion, Roasted Tomato, Microgreens, Tzatziki Sauce, Ancient Grain Bun). It was actually excellent. There are a lot of fancy adjectives in that description right there. I'm not sure if it tasted exactly like all those adjectives suggest, but it was mighty tasty and plenty lamby. I also got to sample the Pork Belly Hoagie (Sriracha Aioli, Power Slaw, Pickled Red Onion, Cilantro, Crispy Baguette). This one was interesting. Nice pork belly covered in their kale-forward power slaw. Pickled red onion for some tang, a spicy aioli, I was really surprised by how much effort this little place put into their menu. And of course, of course I had to end my meal with a slice of their Montana staple huckleberry pie. Warm, huckley, with an ooegy gooey crust and a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream. Just a wow way to end the meal. Overall, for what I was thinking was the mental equivalent of an overpriced, underperforming eatery in the middle of Walt Disney World, I was surprised at the ambiance, the service, and the food at this place. Easily a five star establishment that I hope to return to. read more

Pros: Conveniently located inside the park, inside a giant Lodge close to the middle of the most visited parts of the park. Ambiance is gorgeous. The inside of the lodge better be gorgeous, for how much it costs to stay there. Beautiful view of the lake outside of the windows. Service was very nice. Younger kids are the majority of their wait staff, so they were more fun and jovial. Food was good. Again, it better be. Cons: All this beauty and centrality mean that finding a table can be difficult, so show up well before you get hangry. Tips: Get the burger, skip any sandwiches that have kale in it, and for the love of God, get the huckleberry pie. read more

We had a great experience! Arrived early for our red jammer tour and got a table at the lounge. Server was awesome! We ordered a couple of drinks and split the burger. Service was great, burger was great, drinks were great! It's a small space but definitely worth checking out when you are at lake McDonald! read more

Great service and great food! loved the energy and the atmosphere! Huckleberry Margs and Trout were delicious.

We were told right from the start at 11:30 that the food would be delayed by 20-30 minutes due to the timing of orders. Not a big deal at all. We ordered second of seven tables and received our food last. The waiter wrote down the wrong item for my wife and had to resubmit that to the kitchen. When asked about an adjustment to the bill. The waiter said he had nothing to do with the mix up even after he told us he wrote down the wrong item. We will not be returning to your place and will happily share this story with our fellow RVers and camping friends. Look up check 5373. Our server was James. Pathetic experience for a $79 lunch and of course no tip was left after lying about having nothing to do with the mix up. read more

We love to visit NationL Parks...especially the lodges. After a 5 mile hike we came here for a bite and cocktail. The room is small and a tad muggu... even with the windows open. The wine lists and beer options were fairly extensive amd the mixed drinks were a fun offering of local huckleberry themed drinks...although I am sure you can order anything common. We split a charcuterie with duck, elk salami and dear sausage with some amazing local cheeses. Good service, but overall pricey, noisy and small portions on drink and platter. read more

Stunning location to grab a cocktail and bites right on Lake McDonald at Glacier National Park. We arrived around 5pm and although there is a beautiful restaurant at this lodge, there was only one table open in the lounge. The rest were taken by guests having full meals. We had been hiking at the park, then checked out this lodge, great find Our group of six had cocktails and appetizers. The cocktail standouts were the Huckleberry Smash, Bloody Mary and At Day's End. All were well made and delicious. In addition we ordered flat bread with game sausage $16.25 (small, good but pricey), Chips and Dip $8.25 (we thought they were house made but didn't seem so when served, dip was ok), and salmon dip $11.75 which was very good. You can't beat the views and we had excellent service from Rikki., Would definitely go back. read more

The Lodge itself is wonderful, with a gorgeous view. However, we will never return because of how bitter and disrespectful the bartender (and bar manager) Benjamin is. He has an aggressive and condescending attitude with his co-workers and with everyone at the bar. He spoke down to my fiance and I and was aggresively rude to about 3 people (making them obviously uncomfortable), including a child of about 10 years old. It was honestly one of the worst customer service encounters I have ever experienced. The women he worked with were extremely kind, and I just hope he gets fired and replaced with one of them. read more

Glacier Park is gorgeous, and the lodge looked alright, though this particular restaurant is a serious blemish on the whole place. The foods mediocre at best, but the worst part is the Bar Manager, Benjamin. He was rude and curt with everyone there, and clearly should not be working in hospitality. He lacks basic courtesy in communication, is condescending in how he treats the customers, and commandeering in how he treats the employees around him. Honestly, the entire experience I felt bad for the other servers who had to work with him, who were all quite sweet, and yet he treated them really poorly. Ironically they were all women, and it was clear there was a lack of basic respect for woman in how he communicated with them and female customers. The fact that he's made it this far in this establishment, is given the reigns to mistreat employees, and allowed to interact with guests without basic respect reflects extremely poorly on the entire lodge and it's management. It makes me really wonder who the F&B (Food and Beverage) Manager is and how that person allows this to continue. At the end of the day this comes down to values and integrity, and the management of the Lake McDonald Lodge is clearly lacking them. read more

the menu at the Lucke's lounge is not much better than the dining room. the prices aren't as high and there are a couple additional items not available in the 'big room.' again we found the staff unfriendly, and rude. we ordered a sandwich to be split. after they set it down between us and were about to walk away, i had to call the gal back and ask for a separate plate. read more
