If you are thinking of going here, just don't. Go anywhere else! No greeting, the bartenders ignore you until you finally walk up after being seated for 30 mins and ask if you need to order at the bar. They say no, come out to the table and take your order, awkwardly. One cook, that seems to take 20 min smoke breaks after 5 mins of work. After an hour, we got our popper appetizer that literally would take 5 mins to fry. On top of the wait, the bartender/server tells us we have to pay our bill and tip before we even get our food due to their upcoming shift change! Wtf?! Burgers were terrible and greasy, the tots the only decent thing. Dirty place, every one drunk locals. DO NOT GO HERE, YOU ARE WELCOME!!! read more

When we thought every place was closed by 9:30pm in town this place came to the rescue. It has such a fun vibe inside. The staff was very nice and welcoming. The food was pretty slow to come out but our waitress was on top of refilling our drinks. The menu had typical bar food- ours was pretty decent. Nothing that blew us out of the water. We didn't have one, but the burgers seem to be their specialty. The tater tots were amazing and our nachos were loaded with cheese. read more

So I found this place from a local bartender down in Kalispell and I'm really glad she did. This place is really a fun and really cool local spot up in northern Montana. - Food: the local that suggested this place told me I had to get a burger so that's what I went with. The burger was super good and super fresh. The bacon was also very fresh. Loved the burger. I was only able to eat halftime was so big. - Service: Right after I got here this place it really filled up with locals with one bartender/waitress and man she killed it. She was running all over the place keeping everyone happy. She really was great. And I got my food very quickly. - Drinks: I just got one drink but man it was STRONG. So well done bartender/waitress. - Value: Great value. My massive burger with salad was only $10.50. My drink was super cheap as well which is what you'd expect from a place like this. Overall, I'm really glad I was able to experience this place and it wouldn't have happened had I not been told to hit it up by a local here in the area. This place has a great bar feel to it. I'm from Miami, FL...the other side of the country. Packers felt like home and felt comfortable bringing my little girls here. The staff is wicked nice and the food was excellent! Great music and perfect vibe. We came during the day, which would be good for families. I'll bet the night life is lots of fun. read more

There's crappy service and there's REALLY crappy service. This place has the latter. We arrived at 8:35 PM and were told they were open till 9:00 PM. Our menus which really had a very limited range of food (when I asked abut vegetables, the waitress said they had jalapeno poppers) arrived at 8:50 PM. We ordered at 8:55 PM. At 9:45 PM we finally gave up waiting and explained that we were leaving because we has waited over an hour to be served, to which another waitress explained to me that we hadn't even been there an hour. I'd give this place zero stars if it were possible. Watching the local inbreds playing pool is the summit of entertainment here. read more

Stayed in Coram at a RV park. Went out to lunch quite a few times. This was one of our favorites. Daughter got the 1/2 nachos and we all shared it was so huge! Also great beers! Got to leave our presence know on a one dollar bill...they supply the stapler! read more

Local dive bar and the atmosphere is awesome. Burgers and tots are great, BUT DO NOT GO THERE for prime rib night. They buy it precooked and sliced and then MICROWAVE IT before they serve it to you. The meat is all curled up and tough from being nuked. After a full day of hiking we were craving burgers and we heard Packers Roost had amazing burgers - and they do! Quite frankly the burgers were some of the best any of us had (group of 4). Packers Roost is a dive bar right off the roadthat we heard is a great place for the locals to hang out. When we went they were incredibly short staffed, to the point that one of the servers that came to pick up her check was asked to help out. When we first came in the place was fairly empty so when we put in our orders we would never have thought that the wait time would be so long. We are a group of very patient people and would have completely understood if someone told us that our order of 4 burgers would take close to 1.5 hours. But unfortunately, we stood around waiting, waiting, and waiting some more for the burgers. While we waited, we saw people get tired of waiting and left. The few people that were working were so frazzled and not managing well at all. Once we got the burgers though - they were OUTSTANDING! and a great portion size. Can't say the same about the onion rings. They were mush. If you are in the area and you want a great burger, definitely check this place out. But know to grab a drink (or two) and not be too hungry or in any kind of hurry. read more

My fiance and I were starving after spending the morning in the national park, so we decided to stop here for some food. The place looked cozy and like a local favorite, so we figured it was a safe bet for some quick food. Little did I know I was in for the worst dining experience I've ever had. We sat at the bar and there were flies EVERYWHERE. A grumpy man next to us kept swatting at them with his menu, leaving green guts all over the counter. We really should have left then, but we decided to chance it. I ordered a burger with some green chiles and pepper jack. It came with a side of tater tots. It looked fine when it came out, but when I took a bite, I was immediately revolted. The meat tasted like it had defrosted a dozen times and then microwaved to the texture of slimy cow brains. It was absolutely disgusting, and when I saw the inside of the burger, I immediately put it down. There was no way I was eating it. I waited until the bar tender (that had a permanent scowl affixed to her face) walked by and politely asked if I could please have something different. Unable to maintain eye contact, she said "I won't credit it, if that's what you are asking. I mean, you ate most of the meal." "I took one bite" I said, spinning my plate to show her. Still nothing. My stomach turned from foul to putrid at that point. To preserve the peace, I asked for the bill, and threw 30$ on the table for the pitiful excuse for a meal and left. My fiances whole meal was also fried garbage, and she ended up just pitching it too. Soured the next hour of the trip, but then I was happy to leave this as the worst dining experience of my entire life. Inexcusable--that garbage of a sandwich (in BEEF COUNTRY of all places) and stone-cold of a server. read more

Well staff was friendly at first and great local atmosphere, but it shouldn't take over an hour for fried food on a slow night. There was only 4 tables sat.. fried food takes 6 minutes.. after 1 hour and 15 min switched the order to go when I was told it would be "I don't know 15 minutes or so" for fried mushrooms, chicken strips, and poppers. Food was decent for someone coming off the trail. I got the vibe that this is for locals only. Travelers beware.. if you have time it's not terrible. read more

Made me and my friends wait on our order for around 2 hours and on asking a couple of times their reply was: "you won't find food anywhere else". The definition of a small-town dive bar: dark, packed, pool table, TVs, high top tables, you know the drill. It was the only place open after 9 PM near the west side of Glacier and we were starving. The service was very, very slow, but it was our poor waitress's first shift, and she was doing her best. At least the beers came out fast, and an excellent local hazy pale ale was more than enough to keep me occupied while awaiting our dinner. The menu offers burgers, sliders, nachos, and other pub staples, but we ultimately went with a heap of fried items. The mozzarella sticks and taquitos were the best, the breaded mushroom were solid, and the chicken strips were probably our least favorite. Was it necessarily the most fresh-tasting meal? No. Did it hit the spot after hiking several miles? Most certainly. While I wouldn't go out of my way to hit up Packers Roost for dinner, it is absolutely worth a shout for drinks and conversation with your travel mates at the end of a long day. read more

Born and raised flathead County Montana native, packers roost has always had a bit of a colorful element to it...husband and I just had lunch at Packers Roost, granted it's been years since we've eaten there, and do not plan to ever go back...staff was whiney about ever thing....as far as to ask customers closer to the bar, so they wouldn't have to go so far to serve...and staff commenting quote "I'm surrounded by Fucking idiot" ...food was nothing to rave about for the price....customer service is nonexistent in this establishment...staff treats you like you're a inconvenience..... read more

I feel bad giving this review but I feel it's important for people traveling through. Good place to get a beer. However, they had come off a really busy lunch I guess and they didn't have any food and the menu was limited to just tacos. And the people were a little stressed out and I wasn't comfortable in this place. Totally laughing at the bad reviews. Folks, you're in the canyon. And even if PR was in downtown Whitefish I would still give it 5 stars. This place is awesome and the food even better. Best burgers and Philly Cheesesteaks too. Our bartender was Gary and he was exceptional. Super friendly with quick service. This was during lunch hour in August. We've been here during Cabin Fever Days too when the crowds are rowdy, drinks are flowing and yes, there is more being smoked outside than cigarettes. Some of my best memories are from those nights. If you're not a local don't bother! I have never in my life left zero tip until our experience here. We walked in and nobody even acknowledged us. We asked if we should find our own seat and we got a grunt and a nod from behind the counter. We found a seat and watched as they took orders of 4 groups of people that came in after us. We finally went to the bar to order our food since nobody was helping us and the lady was super annoyed that she had to take our order. At this point we found it to be almost comical. Great scruffy bar on roadside on way to glacier national park. It serves a great cheese burger yum .Its a good old school non elegant bar if ya know what I mean. We stopped by after a day of exploring and hiking, staying in Coram so we didn't want to drive far. Not the best experience. They weren't super busy, and food took a long time. There were 6 of us and only 2 were happy with their meal. Hamburger patties seemed boiled, fried chicken tasted ok, but was cold in the middle. Staff was nice, but also seemed a little understaffed.
