For the 4 of us, this was a completely unplanned stop on our last minute drive up to Polebridge, but the next time I am up in this area (and I will be back), I am definitely stopping back here. Their drinks were delicious and used mostly local Minnesota ingredients As an Arizona native, I can say their nachos stacked up with some of the best. The burgers were great size with super fresh toppings. The fries were some of the best I ever had- perfectly crisp exterior with delightfully fluffy interior and were seasoned to the max without being over-salted. The homemade pickles were mild and still crisp, and even my pickle hater friends enjoyed theirs. To end everything off, we ordered a whole huckleberry-peach pie. They don't sell whole pies typically so they offered us one of their pie baking tins if we were to bring it back. Sadly, we won't be in town past the morning, so we had to decline, but they boxed up our pie in pieces and we left on our merry way. We definitely could have taken them up on their offer for the tin though as we have already eaten the whole pie and would gladly drive back to drop it off and get some more! read more

Stopped in for dessert on our way back to civilization following a day in Polebridge. The hot huckleberry pie Ala mode was fantastic, as was the cookie dough ice cream sandwich. If she had a do over, my wife said she might've gotten her ice cream in a waffle cone instead. The guy working the counter was friendly too. We sat out on the patio to enjoy our dessert. What an amazing place this is!! The owner went WAY out of her way to help me with a lost dog. I stopped back in to let her know I had found my dog and ordered some lunch and it was outstanding! Place has many many essentials too. Also found out they do great concert series of great local musicians. This is the place to check out for sure! read more

Flannery and Danny were very personable, great customer service! the view was amazing! returned for a second time to have the yummy huckleberry margarita and smothered weasel fries taking some of her wonderful baked goods home for the next morning w coffee. This Review is long overdue. My friends and I stopped here for lunch back in August of 2022. We had such a great time here we all had burgers and they had to be the best in Montana. We also had the chance to meet one of the owners. He was amazing and very friendly. I only give this a two star due to the very friendly server Jake we had and the tasty food. I visited this place twice for lunch while on vacation and I could not believe the experience I had. It was very uncomfortable but I had a very sympathetic heart for the server/bartender/cook Jake. While dining here I believe it was the mother of the owner was raising her voice at Jake and was using curse words. You could tell she lacked professionalism and empathy through her behavior. This lady sent Jake home who works countless hours and days for them. When he got sent home the lady appeared to be clueless how to operate the place. She couldn't help us pay our bill. She went and got the owner (her daughter) to help us. The interesting thing was my friends bill went up three times. First the older lady gave a total and then when the daughter got down she mentioned there would be an added fee for using a card and announced the cost of that fee. Then when it came to the total it was increased another 50 cents. The place did not appear stable at all and the environment was toxic! If you are ever feeling under appreciated by your boss visit this place and you will appreciate your boss. read more

Grabbed a burger after shopping at the Mercantile! Perfectly done and kettle chips were a good side. Cool place in the middle of nowhere. If you can, take the road through GNP for most of the journey because the other way (out of Kalispell) has 23-miles of gravel/wash board gravel! read more

We stopped by in July of 2017 while searching for the Schoenberger Homestead Historic Landmark. The owners had knowledge of my wife's family and informed us some are still on the property. The land was deeded back to the government in the late 1970s by my wife's Great Grandmother. Being present when this occurred she had always wanted to go see it. That we did and had a bonus of great people serving great food and the PIE!! You have to come for the most excellent pie and ice cream. As of this writing we are planning on visiting again soon. We ate here two nights in a row because we loved it SO much! The first night it was after 8pm and I'm not even sure if they were still supposed to be open and they served us anyway. The owners and staff were SUPER friendly. The food...was AMAZING! We all had the cheeseburgers (smash burgers )which were OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! And do not leave without getting a slice of the homemade huckleberry peach pie a la mode, of course. The owner makes it herself, and it it To Die For! I would drive back to MT from LA just for the pie! Added bonus...Cold Beer and outdoor games to keep the kids entertained after they've driven you to drinking all day. Also, I hear they have live music occasionally and brunch on Sundays which unfortunately we were not in town for. Do not miss out on this place if your find yourself near Polebridge! read more

This place is AWESOME!!!! We were hiking up near Polebridge and worked up a hunger so stopped for a late lunch. So surprised to find a restaurant in the middle of nowhere! A beautiful building with super friendly staff and delicious food. I ordered the apple walnut salad with a pork topping and huckleberry vinaigrette dressing. What a great combo! The salad was super fresh and the pork was tender and juicy. And the fries! We shared an order of fries and they were amazing. Lots of seasoning and delicious without any ketchup or ranch. But they gave us both :) Gabi was super friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with her and sharing montana wilderness stories. read more

We pulled in to Home Ranch Bottoms on our way to the Polebridge entrance of Glacier National Park because the signs along the dirt road were so enticing. The ones we passed included: "Free Internet!", "Hot Showers!", and "$2 Beer!" It was only about 10am but the "$2 Beer" was the deciding sign. We decided to hold off on drinking any until after our hike through Glacier, but stopping at Home Ranch Bottoms turned out to be a great idea. The place has laundry, showers, bathrooms, a bar, free internet, food service, and almost anything you could think to buy of local flavor. There's no electricity, only a generator, because it is literally in the middle of nowhere, so in the bathrooms you have to pump a switch to turn on a light. It's the only thing around for miles and I got the feeling campers in Glacier frequent it during the warmer summer months. The man who runs the place is a character himself. He's retired and spends the summer season at Home Ranch Bottoms conversing with the nomads wandering through his store. It seems like a pretty awesome way to live and he was extremely enjoyable. If you're on your way to Polebridge, Home Ranch Bottoms is a must-stop. read more

Enjoyed dining at HRB for dinner twice this week. The first time was for a community fundraiser. Live music. Outdoor seating. Limited menu to keep the line moving. The broccoli salad and potato salad were highlights. The second time we had chicken tacos and pork tacos for their inaugural Taco Tuesday. Portion size and taste were both good. I also enjoyed a kombucha. Afterwards, we took home a tasty slice of pie. We enjoyed meeting the new owners, too. read more

The new owners are great! We rode up the North Fork for dinner last night. Having both indoor and outdoor dining, Wonderful Food & Drinks, made this the perfect place for us. They were busy but the staff was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the outdoor area with games for both adults and room for the kids to run and play! ...and the Pie!!! Oh my, we loved the homemade pie!!! This is the perfect place to stop after enjoying the west side of glacier national park, spending time on the river, or enjoying a meal out! We're already planning to go back to Home Ranch Bottoms. It's our new favorite! read more

This was a great surprise! We were headed to Polebridge mercantile and stopped here for ice cream. Jake, the young man who served us made us feel very welcome and even tho he was busy with other customers (and arm in a sling) he told us some history about the area and gave my husband and I some areas to go see and hike at. The customer service was excellent and we will definitely make this a stopping point next time we visit the North Fork. Next time we will come for lunch! read more

I pulled in and thought this was a breakfast restaurant. Sat down and asked for a breakfast menu. Sean said they didn't serve breakfast then offered to cook me up some bacon and eggs. Wow, where does one begin. First stop I have made since new ownership, changes are an understatement. Current visit, exterior ground unkept, weeds, trash laying around, decks dirty, restrooms fair at best. Broken down camper parked in lot, junk piled on porch area of cabin on grounds. Now a walk inside ! Now inventory in what was the general store area, a few tee shirts, snack bars maybe around 2 yrs old, dirty not impressed. Stepped into bar/ food service area was like walking into a dead zone. Lacking the air of hospitality that we were used to. No friendly greeting, not made to feel welcome. One patron at bar & we must have interrupted their social time. Sorry, your first impression is all you get. We remember many trips to HRB over the years, Shawn & Angie always made you feel welcome, nice selections of fresh supplies. Along with a friendly greeting and not being made to feel you were less than welcome. Our opinion, stopping here now would be a complete waste of time, too uninviting to even sample any food service & not impressed by the cleanliness of the food service area . Food prep area was behind what seemed to be a few old rags hanging from door way. Huh, wonder how that looked !!!!! read more

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant -- great food and ambiance. The burger was fantastic, great beer selection and many options for dessert. It is VERY kid and dog friendly. Also it rained on and off the whole time we were there and the umbrellas outdoors were so large that we stayed dry the whole time. A great stop for anyone on the North Fork Rd! This hidden gem is a must stop for anyone coming through the area. It's a small restarant with a full bar and gift shop. It's NOT fancy at all. In fact, there is no electricity that runs there so it's all ran by generator. The grill is propane powered too. Food was good, I liked the local whiskey the best though. Very hospitable and super sweet family running this treasure of a spot off Camas on your way to Polbridge and beyond. We had some very tasty huckleberry margaritas at their bar and shares a bbq pulled pork bun with coleslaw and baked beans - everything delicious and homemade with love. The bar/restaurant was cozy and inviting, with lots of quirky decor to keep you engaged. A great place to rest and chat with the proprietors and locals all around this small little area. We had already booked a spot down in Apgar, otherwise we would have stayed at one of the camp spots available at this little compound with character! read more

Beautiful and spacious outdoor setting with yard games. Staff was incredibly friendly. Burger and hummus plate was delicious. Best burger I've had in a long time. Nice indoor setting as well. This place is absolutely awesome. The food is fantastic. We ordered the wings and the owner asked if we minded waiting for him to fire up the charcoal grills? Chyeah! We'll gladly wait if it involves fresh grilled wings. We drove up a few miles, hiked, and drove back. The wings were legit. We also had some sort of awesome sandwich that I can't remember the name of now, but it had a ton of meat on it. If you're there, you'll see what I'm talking about. The owner was very chatty and friendly, not in a creepy or salesman way, he was just genuinely friendly. The beer was cold, craft, and almost laughably cheap. I can't describe to you how happy this food made us. We have learned it is nearly impossible to find good food in or near national parks. You can only imagine how shocked we were to stumble upon this delicious oasis. We had a pulled pork sandwich with the freshly sliced coleslaw on top.
