We went looking for help for our dyslexic son and were fortunate to find Successful Students LLC…read moreand Mrs Ame! An amazing tutor! We highly recommend her for your child's tutoring in reading and writing-- especially if you have a dyslexic child! Here are the details: I still remember the day in kindergarten when I was working with my son on his letter combination sounds, and he put his head down on the table-- "Mommy -- why is this SO hard.." it broke my heart to see him so sad. That's when I knew we had to figure this out. We'd had him at a Montessori school, but he was still struggling with writing basic words or putting together vowel sounds. We knew it wasn't just that he was a slower reader than others; or that it was "because he was a boy." We just knew there was a disconnect somewhere and it was clear that he was struggling. We had him tested and learned he was dyslexic. We went looking for help and were fortunate to find Successful Students LLC and Mrs Ame! She is a phenomenal teacher who really loves the kids she helps. We couldn't have found a better tutor for our son and the Wilson tutoring method really helped him learn all the rules. We were with Miss Ame for 3-4 years. Our son's reading abilities are now in the 97-98th percentile in 5th grade! Reading is not going to be something that I think he'll ever love, but he knows the rules for why letter combinations make certain sounds and he applies those rules to his reading. Thank you Miss Ame!

This place is genuinely interested in helping kids. My son is currently taking a 3D printing class…read moreand a public speaking class, and we've also tried some art lessons there. It seems like one of those things you'd have to drive to Ashburn to get, so I'm grateful to have something like it right in Purcellville. We don't do the full after school program as my son is pretty entrenched at Dragon Yong (his friends are there...) but it seems like it's pretty awesome, as you get a different class (piano lessons, science, art) each day.
