I recently had a friend pass unexpectedly and under tragic circumstances. After having a horrible experience at a funeral home in Middleburg, Virginia, a friend suggested Hall's in Purcellville. What a difference!! Kim Reed was a godsend. She understood that my friend's surviving spouse was in no condition to make immediate decisions. She worked closely with family members and friends to plan a service that was not only tailored to honor the wishes of the deceased, but also represented her special interests. Ms. Reed was extremely supportive, empathetic, and kept communication lines open no matter the day or time. She is a very warm, caring individual who understands grieving family and friends. He loves what he does, and he enjoys talking about and showing off his numerous projects. Check out the book in his shop that shows the kind of work that he's done. This man is living the dream - he's doing what he loves, with incredible attention to detail. He's not doing it for massive profits, but because he really, really loves his work. And though he's an amazing restorer, he is most enthusiastic about repurposing older pieces to fit your current lifestyle. Ask him about his pump organ projects - something that was basically broken down and unusable was repurposed into a desk with hidden cubbies and secret panels like something out of that National Treasure movie. Which led me to basically dream planning having one of this pump organs be redesigned into a goth themed vanity of my dreams. Never mind that I live in a studio. And I was SHOCKED at how low the starting price for a project like that was - seriously, he is undercharging for the kind of work he does. I am seriously considering getting rid of my couch and tv cabinet just to make room for his custom vanity with secret cubbies and hidden drawers and expandable table tops. But if you're not ready for that and are looking for someone to fix/restore/recane/refinish cherished family pieces or even fix up that flea market find, Mr. McCann is your guy. Over the years my folks had it reupholstered 3xs. When i inherited I had it done boldly in red Naugahyde. That was 21 years ago. Iron Gate Antiques just reupholstered in recycled leather and they added a lil height lift to it because she was a low rider. It's beautiful. We had a quick turn around to clear his apartment. My 18 year old son and I packed the place, including lots of items (dishes, furniture, cd's, household items) that we wanted to have donated. I confirmed ahead of time that what could be donated would. When the time came, I identified the items for donation, but the workers literally overhand threw the first boxes onto the truck, and we could hear the carefully packed items shatter. When I asked if I could assume that "whatever survived would be donated", the worker responded "wishful thinking". My son and I then separated and kept all additional boxes that were meant for donation. When I called and spoke to the guy in charge, he apologized and offered to send another truck at no cost to deliver the extra items for donation, but I declined, preferring to take care of it ourselves. In an already heartbreaking situation, to see someone's belongings so carelessly discarded was awful. I would have much preferred to be told that no donations would be made. I'm still thinking about it months later.

They were friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond when re-assembling our bed, which was missing some screws (a lot of them, actually). Apparently, previous movers had lost some of the screws and didn't tell us. Our New Path movers replaced the screws and made the bed solid again. They also volunteered to move in some things we had brought to the new apartment in our own vehicle. We couldn't be happier with their work. I highly recommend these guys.
