The only thing better than a a good dive bar? A dive bar that's super welcoming and has games - both of which were the case at Lucky 13. Our group of around 20 came in on a Saturday afternoon and the bartender, Kris worked his magic to get us all drinks and get them out quickly. I was annoying and asked for specialty cocktails for my two drinks, and Kris was more than happy to oblige. I got an aperol spritz and then moved onto a negroni, and when my boyfriend saw the negroni he got a boulevardier. Kris was awesome, so an extra shout out to him! They had a pool table, two skee ball machines, and a photobooth - all of which greatly excited me. Sadly I didn't get to the photobooth before it was time for us to leave (we had a schedule to stick to), but now there's a reason to go back! Also super cool that Scolari's Good Eats is next door so you can order food over there and they'll bring it to the bar for you!

Chill bar. Atmosphere is loud bar atmosphere. I couldn't hear shit lol, but that's a bar for ya. Service was good. Didn't use the restroom.

Enzo approves. He minds his manners before they serve him. Thanks again Lucky 13 & Al for all the hospitality!

The people are strong just like the drinks. The bartenders are awesome and the vibes are great! Always good energy and good times. Never know what to expect when I head to lucky. My fur baby Enzo is a local favorite. Enjoy a good time at lucky 13, stay thirsty my friends!

Bartender was rude. On her phone and talking to the other bartender made me feel like I was low on her priority list. She asked me what I wanted and as I was trying to tell her they continued to talk over me. When I did order and asked for a lime with my drink, she didn't give me one. So I asked again, she sighed and then put an old slimy discolored lime on my glass. Gross!!! Feeling like I was just going to get more attitude if I complained, I took my slimy lime with me and took a seat outside that was swarming with flies.

We went by this place for the first time on Saturday. We really enjoyed hanging out on the patio and having a few drinks. The inside of the bar does get very crowded the later it gets.

Don't go to this bar! They are the worst and don't care about their customers safety. I slipped on their wet floor going to the bathroom to check up on my sister. After I fell, I went to sit down and this white dude with a striped shirt (who was working tonight) and the security had the audacity to just come and tell me that I needed to leave. Like what?! Who does that!?! They didn't even bother to check if I was okay they just wanted to kick me out. How is it my fault I fell because y'all don't keep the floors dry. I scrapped my knee (see pic) plus it's hurts to walk and they didn't even ask me if I was okay. They were more concerned about kicking me than my well being or even offered me a bandaid. Thank god there was some nice people who helped me up. Fck this place never coming here again!

Go grab some food from Scolari's and come to Lucky 13 to eat and drink at! They have lots of tables and seating, which is awesome. I got a hazy IPA and it was delicious, but I'll need to order a non-beer drink next time if I'm eating burger and fries too cause I was so bloated!! They have some games in the back, including one pool table and two skeeball machines. We didn't realize there was a waiting list on the wall (until someone told us) and accidentally cut some people, since we swooped the pool table when it seemed like it was unoccupied. It's a smaller pool table than the standard size, yet I still didn't play too well haha! Appreciate that the people there were chill.

Small and fun little dive bar located in Alameda. And they have a pretty good selection of beers on draft as well as some bourbon. I've always thought that the folks here were efficient and friendly. This place also has kind of a punk rock vibe to it (if I remember correctly). Over the years, I've had a few friends that lived in Alameda and this was our go to spot on. We wanted to catch up while I was in town. The drinks here are reasonably priced and especially during the weekdays, it's pretty chill and not too crazy. Perfect for a place to catch up. Definitely would come back or recommend as a place where you can just grab beers or drinks and catch up with friends in a casual setting.

The dive bar scene is not for everyone. It is definitely not for me, but if I end up in one like I did here, I can tolerate it. Putting the usual dive bar vibe aside, this one was less than appealing for the following reasons and why I find it deserving of a poor rating. 1. This is the first time I've ever been served an old fashioned with NO orange peel and NO cherry! 2. It smelled like cigarettes, body odor, old beer. It was disgusting 3. There was a cloud of bugs circling over some of the tables.

The creativity of Lucky 13 Alameda during the Covid 19 lockdown

I just left a review for Scolari's so I'm leaving a review for the Lucky 13 Alameda. I'm not much of a bar person, but I absolutely enjoy the Lucky 13 Alameda. For me, I enjoy the bartenders and the casualness of everyone I've ever met there. When I've just stopped in because I've ordered food next-door at Scolari's, and I have my dog with me, there is never an issue. They actually have water out in the back for dogs. During that type of a visit, I've seen other people sitting at the bar and their dogs are near their stool and there has never been a dog issue ever! I really don't drink past beer but when I'm enjoying time with my friends and then suddenly we get hungry of course we reach for the Scolari's menu which they keep at the bar. So not only is it a great ambience and experience. You also have great food! Lastly, the other thing I think that is super cool is once you wind down and you're ready to go home the bartender has to go containers along with the napkins behind the bar area so I don't have to go next-door. So it's the combination of the two the Lucky 13 Alameda with Scolari's delivering to that bar makes a perfect afternoon or evening with my friends. Both of these Alameda businesses were featured on check please! A couple of years apart which when you combine them together, it's pretty darn perfect.

    6/20/22 Taking Credit/Debit again, thanks.

Good atmosphere, bartender was nothing to write home about, but the worst part was that it was a cash only bar.

I remember old tiki bars back in the day in the 50s when I first remembered hearing about him and the 60s when they were still popular. But as time went on and people change, they kind of disappeared, but this one popped up. And I'm so glad it did because it brought back fond memories of what it used to be. When you walk into the place, it's unlike anybody you're gonna walk into there are one dollar bill stuck to every square inch of the ceiling. Smoking is only allowed outside, so the room was pretty clear because as you walk in it is small, but there's plenty of room at the bar and there are a couple little hutches that you can sit in as well as an area around the corner, but the big surprise is outside. When we walked outside, there was like a 10 foot tiki head out there and it was a flash throwback to the old days. It was so much fun to see. The bar serves drinks that are long forgotten and most bars, and they served them with flair. Everybody from the minute I walked in the front door was awesome. They were smiling, attentive, helpful, and making sure that you got exactly what you wanted and the perfect experience. I even had a moment to talk to the owner and tell him how impressed I was by the staff and the fun that the place brought. I would say I will absolutely be glad to return to this place anytime. The quality that drinks is absolutely five star. The flavors were spot on. And the throwback atmosphere was perfect. I strongly recommended for anybody that wants to go out for an evening of fun and frolic. When they close the back where the outdoor seating is a little bit earlier than the regular bar hours it does get a bit crowded on the inside because so many people are there that you didn't see originally. But that didn't change it. We still had maximum fun.

It feels comfortable and if you're regular here feels like you're just going to something familiar. There's a backyard area with seating as well. I came here with my brother and my sister-in-law for a drink after having dinner in the area. The people were friendly and helpful. We ordered a few of the tiki drinks. I got the banana hammock, lol. It was tasty and refreshing. Overall, great spot, and I hope to return in the near future. Parking on the street wasn't too hard to find. We parked about a block away in the residential area.

For food, I ordered the chips and salsa and guac. The guac was very good, it tasted fresh and was a good size portion. The salsa was really good, it was chipotle tasting but had a lime tanginess to it that was unique and refreshing. They were generous with the portion of chips and the chips were thick and crispy and seasoned well with just a little bit of salt. I also ordered the impossible taquitos which came with guac, sour cream, and salsa on top. The presentation was beautiful and the food came out fast but the taste was a bit weird, it wasn't bad but it just tasted like burger meat in a taquito. I really appreciate that they offered a meat alternative but wish it tasted better, like maybe use potatoes instead of fake meat, or use fake chorizo over a burger seasoning. It would also be nice if there was a vegan version not just a vegetarian version. Despite my critiques of the food, I have no critiques for the service and atmosphere! My server was phenomenal and attentive and checked in often!
