Being that I live in San Leandro and I'm usually 20 plus years younger then every other person at the bars there, it was great to finally find a place with people that are closer to being in High School then ordering off the Senior Menu. While working on a show at the Altarena awhile back, I used to frequent this place with the rest of the cast after rehearsals and performances. Just this past week, while visiting the Bay Area on break from school, I dragged my friends here post-reminiscing at Juanita's across the street. Two days in a row :D I mean, one star off for only one bartender when they were pretty effing busy and for being cash only, but my drinks were sufficiently strong, and the friends I took with me both nights had no complaints. Lot of elbow room in this place, and the location is great as well. Back patio is the place to be! There is something to be said about having a beer, good friends, and conversation in the night air. Noise tends to be an issue later in the night, but what popular bar doesn't really have this issue! Great place to hang out in Alameda. I'm updating because I've been here three or four times since that last review, and the service was actually pretty good. There are some really cool bartenders. One especially was a chick that was working in the afternoon. Didn't catch her name, but she let me put out my flyers in the bar and gave me a drink. The night staff and doorman on my more recent visits were very nice too. I don't know if it was coincidental or they've actually made changes, but this improvement in service definitely makes the place more appealing. +1 star. read more

Flew up for business and met up with my uncle. After dinner, we decided to check out Lucky 13 and had a blast. Our bartender Michelle took care of us and made us feel at home. They have a back patio and outside dining. Relatively cheap drinks and a great atmosphere. I would recommend 10/10. read more

My favorite bar in Alameda. I started coming here because of their craft beer selection. Whether you like fizzy yellow stuff or the hazy hoppy stuff you'll find something you like. They usually having Pliny or (even better) Blind Pig on tap and they get blessed with kegs of PTY during beer week festivities. I keep coming back because I dig the bartenders, the ambiance and the fact I can bring my dog. Scolaris is next door and will bring your order to the bar. The minor inconvenience of it being cash only is worth it to have this amazing bar in my hood. read more

I'm a big fan of beer, they have a nice bottled selection for cheaper than other places, and a decent selection of draught. I've been here on crowded nights and slow afternoons, and the service has always been timely. They have a good amount of seating indoors, and a great patio out back. It's not super fancy, the music's loud, people get drunk and they're fun to watch. It's a really easy place to hang out at. You can bring food into eat (at least from what I saw), which is nice, especially later at night. read more

Oooooh, Lucky 13! I've lived in Alameda for 3 years and I can honestly say, I call it home. Awwww! The tree-lined streets, public parks and quaint shops littered around town make me feel like I'm in the black and white version of 'Pleasantville'. And to add to its wholesome image, the nightlife is...ummmm...lacking. So! If you want to have a raucus ole' time in lil' Alameda, then, you go to the 13! Without a doubt, the Lucky 13 has the best bar staff in Alameda. From Patrick to Tofer to Sam, they are all super friendly, energetic and seemingly glad to be working. Who knew!?! And you'd probably think that the bathrooms are kinda gross and the place could use some 409 ...only if you were a SQUARE, zing! It's a rock 'n' roll club. It's loud, it's dirty, it's fun and it encourages smoking ;) There's a spacious patio in the back. Which is a treat for someone like me, who then doesn't have to lean against the building, puffing like a race horse and stare at my drink from the window outside. We came here to eat our food from next door (scolaris) and liked that it was a super relaxing and chill environment. They have a pool table and other games at the end of the bar. My girlfriend and I always make a stop at Lucky 13 bar when we're in the area. Usually during the day and the begining of the week its pretty steady, but on Friday nights it can get packed. They always have a good rotationnof craft beers, they also carry Russian river for you beer connoisseurs. Also, a buddy of ours owns the tattoo parlor on top (also called Lucky 13). Very unlike Lucky 13 in SF. Good beer selection. Not a dive. The space could totally be a restaurant - lots of windows, spacious, etc. They have pool which is definitely cool. Still A younger, preppier, less divey, still totally mostly guys as customers bar. Not bad, just not what I was expecting from Lucky 13. read more

Luck 13 has been my local spot since I moved to Alameda, and it has never disappointed. A full bar with drinks at a fair price with quality beers on tap like Pliny the Elder and Blind Pig. The ambience is mostly Rock and Roll, with a nice Juke-Box selection, a pool-table, a few arcade games, a photo booth, and a dance floor on thursday nights. There is a great seating section adjacent to the bar for groups, and a nice outdoor patio in the back for smoking. The bartenders don't mess around, and neither does security. I've seen plenty evidence of both. All in all this is the best bar in Alameda for 20's and 30's looking to have a seriously good time. If you decide to visit I highly recommend Scolari's next door. One of the best burgers you'll find the East Bay. CASH ONLY! But they have a $2 ATM read more

Lucky 13 is the staple bar on Park St. Relatively cheap drinks, good atmosphere, and a nice outside sitting area where you can smoke. You really can't ask for anything else in this type of bar. A nice feature is the option to order from Scolari's next door and it in the bar. Very cool. read more

The beer selection on tap is exceptional and any bar that has Chimay on tap is legit. Be aware, this is a cash only bar but don't let that get to you, it's just a few less bucks going to the big banks. I had a glass of the Hoegaarden and the Chimay and they were wonderful. read more

First and last time here. I would give it a 0 if I could. Went through security guy just after 1am. We sat down and figured out what drinks we wanted. Couple to our right and few ppl at bar to our left. Waited for bartender (white chick) to finish with the couple. Stood there for a good couple minutes or so. She gathered their shots and took payment. I have my money out (since its cash only) and she walks right past us to clean some glasses and wiped counter down (where the other guy bartender was). No eye contact or I will be with you soon. My friend and i just looked at each other. We said ok lets give it a min, shes just cleaning up. She walks by again and started talking to the ppl at the end of the bar. My friends and I walked right out of that place after good 10-15mins of being there. This place is over priced and the service is excruciatingly S-L-O-W!!!!!! I waited 45 minutes for a Fucking stromboli. They never have pizza ready for a slice you have to wait forever for that too. They have frambois, which is this awesome raspberry belgian beer!! Yummy!! Great music if your flavor is punk or old school rock and roll. This is a good place just to chill or to party hard.
