I quickly scanned their hefty bloody mary menu and ordered the Lobstrocity, featuring veggies, shrimp, a grilled cheese sandwich and a fresh lobster tail atop a sizeable glass of the main concoction. This was definitely a meal in a glass! It was all quite delicious and filling, and I was glad I'd opted out of any of the optional add-ons like filet mignon, crab claws, or frog legs. Of course, I still had to order half a dozen raw oysters for dessert. And no, I won't be eating for the rest of the day! What made this a 5 star experience was our phenomenal server, Trevor. He was fast, friendly, and always nearby to clear empty plates or offer drink refills.

You can tell this place is popular by the amount of people who were on the wait list for a table. The bar area has a ton of local draft beer options and very friendly wait staff. The food options vary from sushi nachos to more traditional sandwiches. I thought my fish sandwich was a bit bland but it was still an overall great experience. Prices are what I would expect for seafood in Holly Springs.

Check out the photos of previous meatloaf servings to other customers posted on Yelp. It was tasty meatloaf but was a crunbled spoonful which is out of character with the usual normal sized generous serving, but the mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and fried okra, were good tasty comfort food. Rolls were good but for some reason very small tonight. The garden salad was fresh and crisp tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers, grated cheddar on top, with Italian dressing. Ivey, our server, informed us the advertised delicious banana pudding was not being served tonight for some reason. Big disappointment to hear about not having the advertised banana pudding but in lieu of that I was offered two complementary chocolate chip cookies. The chicken and dumplings was good but almost no chicken on the plate and lots of dumplings. Also take a look at previous meal photos to see the usual generous serving of chicken and dumplings. Green beans and broccoli salad were good. Hershey bar chocolate cake was good dessert. Southern iced teas were perfectly refreshing. I recommend their Southern Style Country Food which is normally some of best comfort food but tonight was an off night according to Ivey, our server, the small portions on our plates was in contrast to the normally generous portions of the specials for some unknown reason Tonight was an off night for some reason with few cars in parking lot and only two other people in the dining room. The Old Place accepts Android and Apple Pay.

If it's a beautiful day, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside instead. Still, the inside has a cozy, laid-back feel that works well. Shoutout to Qua, who was both the hostess and our server. She was welcoming, attentive, and handled everything smoothly, even as a few more parties came in while she was the only one serving at the time. One thing I really appreciated was that she let us know upfront what items were out of stock before we even looked at the menu. That level of transparency is huge and makes the experience so much better. My son ordered a slider with fries from the kids' menu. It comes with just one slider, so I ordered a second, definitely the right call. He enjoyed it, and the fries were cooked well, just a little on the salty side for our taste (ketchup helped balance that out). I had the shrimp tacos. It's packed and perfect portion for lunch. The shrimp, pineapple slaw, and chipotle mayo was a nice mix. The restaurant was clean (including the bathrooms). The location is also a plus, super close to the Art Museum, which makes it a great stop before or after visiting. Overall enjoyable, and I'd come back, especially to try more of the menu and the drinks.
