First time trying this bar and it seemed like there were some regulars. Staff was pleasant and attentive. They have some board games available in the back. Cider and beer were okay.

Although I have a deep affection for this neighborhood bar (with its elegant back patio, top notch staff, and a wide selection of glassware--I recommend the highly underrated 10oz glass), I do have one bone to pick. And that is with how they treat a little basil plant, who I affectionately call "Barry". Over the past few months, I've witnessed Barry transform from a wee seedling to a mature, yet slightly awkward, teenager. But here lies the problem. In this pivotal moment of plant adolescence, I saw Barry not receive the precious nutrients he needs to become fully self-sufficient and self-actualized. Thing got so bad just today, that I actually saw Barry try to make a run for it. One moment he was casually dying of thirst on a table, and then he made a dash for the tree to see if he could hop over the fence. Alas, he lacked the the legs and opposable thumbs to hurl himself over. Then I saw him try to hitch a ride on top of a patron's car. Apparently he saw the Uber sign, but wasn't aware of Uber's no-pet/no-plant rule. :( If you have any suggestions on how we can help Barry find a good home, please reply!

Wendy and Glen are the owners and absolutely delightful. We were invited to a retirement party held in the back room, specially reserved for us. The bartenders took great care of us. Lots of beers on tap, great wine selection (looking forward to coming in for their wine dinner), full bar, and craft beers to go. This neighborhood bar has a friendly crowd of locals that welcomed us at the door. We will be back. There are numerous events to draw a person in--poker night in March, daily specials and the wine dinner.

Imagine Tasty Bev or Bottle Rev with less stock and add $1/pint price and that's pretty much what you've got here at Crafty. Is it a decent bottle shop? Yeah, but primarily if you live in the neighborhood. Is it an interesting spot? Well yeah, if you're into the preppy Five Points crowd. All in all, Crafty is not bad at all but only if I lived in the hood. There's just enough bottles, beer and interesting people to make it sorta worthwhile. And not only is their price per pint high ($7 - $8), it doesn't even cover tax. But If I have to drive to visit, there are plenty of other good options for less money. So be prepared to pay a bit more to quaff your quality microbrews at Crafty...

Beer is served in the front while wine is in the back! Draft beer is overpriced, $7 for a pint?! I am unable to comment about the bottle selection, it looked decent, as I was a bit intoxicated towards the end of the night. I will have to admit the bartenders and patrons were fun to hang out with!

We walked in here by chance because it was across the street from Lilly's Pizza where we had lunch. It's a bottle shop/bar and we just wanted to see what local brews they might have since we were there. This would be a cool place to hang out for a bit if you were in the area. They have games, live music, and an indoor lounge area. You might want to check it out if that's your thing or just head there to browse and take home some local brews like we did. They had just opened for the afternoon when we got there. They have a good selection of local crafts and a decent selection of hard cider which is always harder to find. The employee on duty was helpful and very friendly. We built a custom 6 pack to take home and try.

Stopped here after dinner on a Saturday night to have a beer at the bar and pick up some new bottles to take home. The thing about this beer shop that is different from others I've been to (Tasty, Beer Study, Bottle Revolution, etc) is that the bar area is much larger - it is the size of bar you'd see in a restaurant. That means that there is less room for racks of bottled beer for sale. The selection of bottled beer was nicely organized and had some great option for creating a sample pack, like I was doing. They had a local section with a good amount of local breweries. The place was packed to the brim with bottles - even a little room in the back. There weren't as many beers on tap as I had expected for a bar that size. We had the Duck Rabbit Hoppy Bunny since we hadn't tried it before. I think they had about 7 beers on tap and I wish they had had a few more. They also served wine. I might have ordered a second beer but they were $7 a piece! The bet part of this beer shop is the lounge area - couches and tables for people to sit. At 8pm on a Saturday night we were able to get a seat easily. We will definitely be back.

It's not a cheap option, but certainly a good way to spend an afternoon. There is some outdoor seating as well, if the weather is nice. So make sure you get there when you can. When you do the wine tastings you get to sit down (a very very small bar) and the bartender tells you all bout the wines. I had better conversations with the other patrons though! We had a good time! They have wine and cheese to go along with it so you can shop for that too. Super nice and super friendly, got greeted immediately and asked what could we do to help you, I thought that was really nice. Customer service, top tier. Along with the cheese app charcuterie and other type of meats. Not a grand section but enough. The have everything you need to be paired with the wine. They also have a bunch of beer in a front of the store so you can do beer if you don't feel like going wine. There are a few coolers, so you have options. They have people that are very knowledgeable and they told history on the different types of lines that really match what goes on on the walls because they have maps of different areas of wine regions on the walls. It's really educational too. If I lived in the area, this could be my go to for wine!

Disclaimer: This was my first EVER visit to an ABC Store in NC…read more- So I can't say for sure if it's "As good as it' get's" but it's as good as I've gotten! So contrary to what you might be thinking, I came here to buy alcohol to eat- not drink. I woke up with the sudden urge to make Banana's Foster and went down to Trader Joes for ingredients. I was reminded of the funky NC alcohol laws (CA Trader Joe's sell wine, beer and hard liquor-FYI they even have their own generic brand of vodkas and rums!). So I quickly Googled the nearest ABC store to home and wham- I ended up here! I didn't want to invest in an entire bottle of rum (especially since the recipe called for only a few tbsp) so I bought a few of the tiny airplane bottles. They seemed to have a pretty wide selection and fair prices. The ladies at the front counter told me that there was another ABC store nearby, but that location was small and served you from behind a counter. These same ladies also helped me pick the right brand of rum for my recipe (which I was thankful for since rum ain't my poison). For all of these reason's I will return! Well, all of these reason's and the simple fact that this is the only place I CAN come to buy alcohol. North Carolina kinda has me by the balls on this one.

There isn't much to like about this ABC location…read more Like most ABCs, this one is in a strip mall. But it's probably one of the smallest and most crowded strip malls in Raleigh. Good luck finding a parking space on a Saturday afternoon. Also, good luck working your way around the Papa John's delivery drivers on the way out. By the way, much love to all of the Papa John's drivers - you guys are awesome and thanks for all the pizza. The selection is one of the worst I've seen. I can get most of my favorites (Tito's, Tanqueray, Bulleit), but I always have a hard time finding anything out of the ordinary. On my last visit, the store was operating two checkout lanes, and then switched to just one as soon as 10 people needed to check out. I didn't quite understand that strategy. The Cameron Village store is much nicer.
