My main concern was our dogs not being comfortable with the rotation of different pet sitters, so I expressed that concern with Janet and figured out a plan to prepare our dogs. We ended up booking walks for our dogs to meet with the different sitters they may encounter during our vacation. Each walker/sitter we met was equally friendly and our three German shepherds had no issue with either one of them. We received reports after each visit, which we appreciated. What I do appreciate most about Lucky Buddy Petcare is that we're not dependent on one person's schedule while planning. The booking process is super easy through their website. If you are here on Yelp looking for dog walkers and sitters, then you think of your dog as family like I do. I am grateful to have found Janet and her team to walk and stay overnight with my smart, loving and rambunctious Aussie, Jake. Jake loved his walks and especially enjoyed his time with Janet and Kathleen when they stayed with him when I went on my first trip in years because I would not board him. I told my friends I thought he was two-timing me because he was so happy and relaxed when I arrived home. I also had a dog walker come every day at Janet's suggestion while I was away and I truly appreciate the time and care these young women gave to Jake during that time and his regular walks. Sadly, Jake is no longer with me. He was only six years old but he had a medical condition that was lurking, unknown and undiagnosed until it suddenly appeared shattering my world. We get emails (with photos!) daily, along with updates about how our cat is doing. If there's an issue, they let us know; it's not just happy-go-lucky updates. Lucky Buddy and Janet in particular are life savers! I have three large dogs that I have trouble trusting anyone to care for. I've always had my parents take care of my pets and Vice versa. When I moved too far away from them I interviewed about a dozen pet sitters and Janet blew them all out of the water. My family has been using Lucky Buddy for a few years now, and we can't say enough good things about them! They always give us thorough, daily updates on our kitties and are very attentive, even texting us photos. They also leave written notes letting us know when they came, what exactly they did, and a note about how everyone was acting. They once spotted a medical issue with our now deceased 18 year old cat. They texted and then called us immediately. They were perfectly willing to take him in to our vet, and although that wound up being unnecessary, we were grateful they were there for him. My only complaint is that they don't seem to service the Fair Oaks/Orangevale area, and we'll be moving there in the next few months. I hope we'll be able to find someone else as good as Lucky Buddy. Searching for a simple pet sitter, I contacted at least ten varied companies. Lucky Buddy has several false websites, one that misled me to believe that "Janet", was the care provider. Ms. Smith, the CEO, was rude to me, but she does not know that. She seems to me that she is unscrupulous. The way in which she conversed with me was as if she was gaming me. There was something exceptionally fishy about her, her methods "let me add you to our database", and her failure to disclose key facts such as - price, who is going to perform the work, who is going to have access to my apartment key, and why any of her so-called staff, cannot arrive in the morning to feed a pet. She became combative, pushy, and bullying when I stated that I wanted someone to arrive no later than 7 A.M.. It is my opinion that the Yelp reviews are not authentic, as they brand the company, and fail to identify any particular "worker". Who writes that "You won't get any better pet care? ...." That's absurd. The other companies I reviewed were all authentic. It is not lawful to provide "personal services" and incorporate. She does not have an office personnel, she does not have an authentic corporate CFO, etc. So, the reviews and everything else are a sham. She failed to identify her staff, as employees. If working under her direction, if they exist at all, are employees. When searching for a pet sitter, don't deal with a company that is syphoning off workers, and paying them as independent contractors. Hire a company that respects its workers as much as the pets they are supposed to care for. You are the boss. You set the terms. You are hiring a personal service provider and you contractually control all the terms. Don't let anyone turn it around. read more

I found Lucky Buddy on Yelp, emailed them, and got a call back right away. They were very thorough when they came to meet Kitty, and kept a detailed summary while we were gone. When I returned, Kitty was calm and happy, and the house was in great shape. They even brought in mail and watered plants. When we leave town we always hire a house sitter for Kona, our spoiled Blue Heeler, and Janet walks and feeds her daily. Kona loves Janet and has always been well taken care of by her. While on vacation we never worry. We receive a picture texted to us daily of Kona's happy face and Kona always looks forward to seeing Janet. I have never needed a pet sitter before and usually relied on my roommates (who never did a good job, but adequate enough). However, I don't have roommates anymore, and me and my gf were going on an extended trip.. we thought about just asking a friend to stop by, but we didn't want to be a burden on anyone (we have a crap load of cats after all).. so we found Janet and she was great! We have 4 cats inside, and 2 cats outside and she took great care of them while we were gone.. It was nice not worrying about our cats while on vacation, and not worrying about coming home to a house smelling like feces. She left us a daily log of what our cats were up to and what she did with them.. that was nice. We usually go on a lot of shorter weekend trips and just leave a huge bowl out for our cats to dine on, but we will probably just ask Janet to stop by to check up on them instead. Go Fetch has been a life saver for me when I travel. Janet and her employees have taken care of my two cats and dog for the last two years--not to mention bringing in the paper and mail when I have forgotten to cancel them. Recently I have been in the middle of a move and life has been chaotic--Lorella of Go Fetch comes over twice a week, walks my dog, and leaves me notes about their walk. A huge relief and very reasonably priced. The best story happened about a year ago--I really messed up and Janet herself came to the rescue. My beloved dog got out alone while I was at dinner and took a little walk in the neighborhood. The cats followed but didn't leave the porch, thank heavens. I find it difficult to believe that any sane person could say something awful about Janet or Go Fetch Petsitting. Janet is one of the most sincere and caring individuals I have ever met. She truly adores animals and takes her job very seriously. I have hired Janet for years to take care of my pets, and I've had a household of them. She has cared for my fresh-water fish, cockatiels, parakeets and our 3 cats, 2 of which have special needs. Well, actually, if you're a cat owner, you know that ALL of them most likely have special needs. She has watered our plants, brought in the mail and taken excellent care of our pets regardless of how long we are gone. In addition, she gives pills to the cats, cleans out their cat boxes and still finds time to play with them because I'll find notes that say how much one of my cats likes his belly rubbed -- which he does -- or that another will crawl up her leg for attention. You know how when you go on vacation, it pains you a little bit to leave your pets behind and you might worry that maybe the petsitter would get locked out of the house or forget to come -- OK, maybe I'm the only prone to worry -- but I can tell you unabashedly that I never worry about my house or pets when I am out of town. I know that I have left everything in good hands with Janet. If one of my cats were to become ill, Janet knows where to take them, and I'm confident that she would do it. I just moved to the Sacramento area, and was looking for someone to take care of my three cats while I was gone. So I started searching on line for pet sitters. Set up an appointment, date and time. So far so good. She was punctual arriving at the appointment time, neat and clean looking casually professional. We got right to business, I showed her the feeding routine and she asked all the right questions, making notes. When she left I felt very comfortable leaving my babies in her care. While I was gone I checked in once and she responded back right away and said everything was fine. When I got home I found the house to be in the same condition I left it. When Janet came for an initial meet and greet with my cat, I told her about a scuffle that had happened a week prior with another neighborhood cat. She gave me the advice to have it checked out by a vet, and sure enough it was a bigger problem than I originally thought. The wound was treated and he was on the mend by the time our vacation began, but I was very thankful to have a caring team give him special attention while I was away. I have used Lucky Buddy for years and was always pleased with the care they provide. However, on our most recent trip, they somehow let one of our indoor cats escape. After searching the house high and low, I was told there was no way she could have gotten out and that she must be hiding somewhere. I tried explaining that this is a cat who comes running to greet us when we get home and still was told they apparently know her better than I do and she must just be hiding somewhere, but if I truly felt she was missing, "maybe put up some posters or something". It's now been 12 hours. She is clearly gone. My only hope is that someone took her in and will have her chip scanned. I understand pets get out - my problem is the reaction I got, the arrogant insistence that I didn't know what I was talking about and general lack of concern. Someone is not telling the truth, because my cat clearly got out We won't be using them again. Shocked at the response. The reason my request was last minute? We got news we were adopting and had to fly out of state in a hurry - which I explained at the time. And you're going to use THAT to criticize me so you can defend your behavior? read more
