We LOVE the Comforted Kitty-- particularly Carly, whose services we used recently when we traveled internationally for a week. We were extremely nervous to allow a total stranger into our home with our cat, who is a very shy girl. We had only ever had friends come stay with her and on those occasions, it took her at least a few days to come out of hiding. Finding an available personal contact for this upcoming trip was turning up blanks, though, and we did not want to board her, for fear she would think she was back at a shelter, as she had been when we adopted her. And so we rather grudgingly made an appointment to meet with Carly and see we if it might be a good fit. From the start, before we even met, we had a good feeling. Carly is immediately both professional and personable in her communications. We arranged for her to come after work one evening and she showed up promptly on time. She never made us feel rushed as we went through all the steps that would be needed to care for our girl, as well as all the personality quirks that make her who she is. Carly did not seem daunted; she seemed perfectly suited for the job. A few weeks later and it was time to go! It was going to be an epic trip for us, going to a bucket-list location, and yet, there was that nagging sense of worry about leaving our cat in an empty house. We couldn't help but second-guess our decision. But Carly made it incredibly easy. The updates came quickly and completely. Even though she was only catching glimpses of our cat, she was finding her each time she came to the house and sending photos to prove it. She was also assuring us that everything else was in very good order-- water clean and refreshed, litter scooped, treats dispensed, auto-feeder functioning. By Visit 3, the absolute unexpected happened: our cat came out of hiding to allow Carly to pet her. We almost fell over from shock and joy. This is a terrific service! We have two kittens who were well cared for by Maila while we were traveling for a week. This review is long overdue. We are new in town and don't know anyone. Boarding our cats was not an option, as our girl is stressed by any car rides and our already new environment. When I found out about The Comforted Kitty, I did tons of research on their company and client reviews. This place is insured, bonded, and they require background checks on their employees. Additionally, we appreciate the flexibility for any kind of overnight or check-in cat sitting. During the scheduling process we received a lot of information, as well as questions about what we would need for our cats while we were away. When our sitter Tracy came for our meet and greet I instantly felt comfortable knowing that our cats would be safe and happy in her care. Nothing but good things to say about this company and our sitter, Mariann. Scheduling was easy, their app is VERY complete and asks a lot of questions you might not think about (where to take the cats if they're sick, where do they like to hide, etc). We had previously been boarding our two cats when we went on travel, at a cost of nearly $800 a week. When we drop them off they were always scare, and when we picked them up they were stressed for days after we brought them back home. Additionally, having a third cat meant that we couldn't board all three together at almost any boarding service - we'd have to pick two cats to keep together in one "condo" and put the other cat off on their own! After our preferred boarding place closed, we looked at cat sitter or services. Most of them seemed sketchy, but Comforted Kitty actually seemed aboveboard and interested in the cat's welfare. One thing I loved was that thy do not let you request "every other day" visits, which I think is good. Leaving an animal alone for that long is not safe, especially when they are already stressed and missing you! Additionally, they require a "meet and greet" between the sitter and your cats, to make sure they get along with and recognize your sitter. Our sitter (Mariann) was amazing! Twice a day she would send us photos of the cats, update us on how much food each of them ate, clean their litter boxes, refill their water and food, and play with them (and give them treats, which our babies loved!) so they didn't feel alone. The first visit the cats seemed unsure and worried, probably because we had just left them alone, but by the second time Mariann visited they came right out to see her and were excited to play! We were gone for 5 days and when we got back the house was clean, the litter boxes were cleaned, and all three cats were happily sitting in their window perches and heated beds, not stressed at all. Overall it was obviously a massively more positive experience for them, even for our anxious cat who normally won't come out near new people! The benefits of having the cats be babysat at home were immense - they got to have all their own preferred foods, no stress from being in a strange place, someone they trusted visiting and playing with them, all their toys were there to play with instead of having to bring one or two and worrying that they'd get lost, and obviously the cats also had MASSIVELY more space to play and sleep in, compared to the condos at the boarding places. Overall we could not be happier with Comforted Kitty and with Mariann. We told her to hold on to our house key, because we'll be asking her to cat-sit for us every time we went on vacation going forward! read more

We initially set up a consultation session where we were assigned Carly. It was very easy coordinating schedules and the visit went over so well! Our kitty has a lot of anxiety and is easily stressed so we feel very guilty and uneasy having to leave him alone when we go out of town. He didn't do well at previous pet hotels where he was forced to be in a very small box for days. I was desperate to find an acceptable cat sitting service. In comes Comforted Kitty to the rescue. I submitted a request online (a very easy process) and soon got a response that we had been assigned to Maegan. We first had a "Meet and Greet" weeks prior to our vacation. We could tell right away that Maegan is very knowledgable about providing care to cats and this made us feel good knowing that our little Pumpkin is in good hands while we're away. We have used Comforted Kitty twice now and have already scheduled a third service. Each time, we have requested Maegan because she's the best! Her communication is excellent - providing us consistent updates (even photos!) about each visit on how Pumpkin is doing. Through our communication, we were able to give her tips on how to get Pumpkin more at ease. She also was able to give him his anti-anxiety medication without any problems. Maegan goes above and beyond and even tries to coordinate the timing of her visits based on our flight departure and arrival times. In addition, Comforted Kitty also uses the "Time to Pet" app that pretty much organizes all the information (ie. Pumpkin's habits, calendar of scheduled visits, emergency contacts, etc). We used Comforted Kitty for our first long trip since the outset of COVID - two full weeks. We have three cats and I will admit they are not the easiest going kitties out there. One grumpy old lady; one shy loner; and one goofball - couldn't be more different. Our assigned sitter, Garrett, was great with all three. His reports were always there and boy did he try to make friends with all of them. I was expecting the regular daily report of cleaned up, fed, everything okay. This was my first time ever hiring a cat sitter and I had a wonderful experience with the comforted kitty. I had Phoebe as a sitter over the holiday weekend and she was fantastic! I'm a very nervous pet parent and will often check my pet cameras several times a day when I'm gone to see how they are doing. However after the first few visits from Phoebe I stopped checking them as much since I could tell they were in good hands. Phoebe would send detailed messages after every visit complete with pictures and in those pictures I could tell that my cats were happy and well taken care of. After I returned from my trip my cats were happy to see me but didn't seem as stressed or agitated as they've been in the past when I've come back from a trip. My boyfriend and I went on vacation for a week, and the issue of who would take care of our cats was probably what we were most worried about. They both can get pretty anxious when they're left alone, and they can be very high maintenance. We didn't have to worry at all though. Maegan took care of them like they were her own kitties and sent us updates every day. Comforted Kitty uses a system that allows the sitter to verify if the cats went to the bathroom, how much food they ate, if they brought in mail or packages, etc. It's very comprehensive, and I didn't need to ask about anything. But again, the best part was how great Maegan is with the cats, even really weird ones like Bey who are huge and poop a lot and walks underfoot to show love/trip you. During our time away, she made sure to stay in contact with us after each visit. We got regular updates, pictures, and a few videos of our kitties.
