Got my nails done for Christmas with a design. 2 days after getting them done, the entire design was chipping off this gel manicure. After spending close to $100 for this and a pedicure, it looks terrible after 2 days. They say walk-ins welcome, but if they are busy and they say it will be an hour, they do not hold it for you, even if you say you will be back, they say, "ok," and then you return in under and hour and get told it will be at least another half an hour. These women are an absolute DISGRACE. After an awful experience last year, I decided go give it another shot. *unsurprisingly* the DAY AFTER I got a full set (light pink) they all turned yellow. Absolutely worst pedicure and service of all time! The lack of basic effort, desire to do a good job and friendliness is hard to express in words. Started with the obvious displeasure on her part that I took more than a minute to pick the color even though the place was empty and few girls were doing nothing when I arrived. . It went downhill from there. It was a make believe pedicure. I don't know how else to explain it. She went through every motion without actually doing them.. if that makes any sense. Clipped few nails..if she filed them, I did not notice..they look all crooked...then she attempted to cut the cuticles. Staring with the big toe. She went too deep on the first clip and instead of cutting all the way through before pulling, she yanked at the skin and my foot jerked from the unexpected pain. The cuticle was still half attached and the skin started to bleed. She looked up, annoyed, and instead of saying "sorry" asked if I actually wanted the cuticles cut. She was looking at me as if i did something wrong. I was speachless. I said yes please, but that hurt. She smirked like as if the blood and pain is something that is to be expected. She then proceeded to do the rest of the toes taking few clips here and there. It was a way of letting me know that she was not going to really cut them if I am not going to behave. The following pumice stone scrub was an even bigger joke. She barely touched the skin. It was a scrub without any actual scrubbing. Two barely felt strokes over one of the toes, half a stroke over others, few over the middle of my sole and none over the heals which is where most of the dead skin is, obviously. Now, my heals are pretty bad and I never expect that the regular pumice scrub will get rid of all the dry skin, but she literally did not even attempt to touch them. It was absolutely ridiculous. I should have said something right then and there, but I hate any kind of confrontation. She still had the soap front the pumice stone on her hands to which she added the massage lotion and we were off to the so called "massage". The "massage" seemed to take the right amount of time, however, there was no actual massage there. She was basically spreading the lotion around, applying zero pressure or effort. I felt like the biggest sucker sitting there pretending to be receiving a real service. It really felt like a spit in the face. I wish I had the type of personality to speak up then and there, but I keep hoping instead. Even though I came in to get both a pedicure and a manicure, I decided pedicure alone was enough humiliation. I paid the girl at the front desk, who I believe is the owner, and left a 16% tip for the pedicure girl. Then I muscled up the courage to tell the owner that the pedicure was one of the worst I have ever had. I guess I was hoping she would do or say something that would allow me to return there in the future. Not only did she not respond in any way, she did not even look up at me. She could care less and that unfortunately to me became the absolute worst part of it all. The biggest spit in the face. I understand they work for minimum wage and that not every girl that works there will always do a great job. I am sure there are people that have had a positive experience there. I did have a decent experience there few times as well with Ivy. But the fact that the owner is so sanctimonious and rude is unacceptable...let's even assume that the service was great and I am an unreasonable consumer. This is a neighborhood salon. We are, collectively, the source of her income and well being. How can she be so ungrateful for all the business she gets and treat anyone that walks through that door with what appears to be pure destain. It's beyond me. Instead of supporting a business that acts like they are doing you a favor, let's be selective and give our business to those that show us some basic level of appreciation and desire to do the best they can. Walked in and was immediately greeted and asked to choose a color. I asked for gel. They display the colors on stands next to the register. There isn't a huge variety but all the main colors are available. I started with one girl and then ended with another. There weren't many clients in the place so I'm not sure why this happened. They had at least 4 regulars stop in while I was being helped so my only guess is the lady was one of them. I tried to make conversation and be nice to my nail tech. (For some odd reason I hold onto the idea that one day I'll find my barber. Get me?) She made no expression that she understood me let alone cared that I was talking to her at all. Sadly my experience was the worst I've ever had in a nail salon I had gotten a gel manicure yesterday and today 6 nails were chipped! I was absolutely shocked that the gel had been so badly damaged after just one day...Ive never even run into this with regular plain Polish. After spending $35+tip (was 25 plus 10 bucks for a crummy design-- I should have asked ahead though) I went back in today to let them know I wasn't satisfied. I was very polite and saw the girl who did my nails and shower her how bad they were. She seemed annoyed and didnt want to be bothered. She didn't apologize, all she did was ask what I wanted her to do. In fact, I felt like she was blaming me, saying that this hasn't happened to other customers and I need to be more careful. I told her that I felt that they should redo them as a courtesy...she agreed to, but said she spent time on them yesterday so would only do them again this one time Overall this salon looks nice and seems clean. The WORST nail salon I have ever been to in my life. I recently moved to Long Beach and need to find a new nail salon. I've gone here twice but never ever again. I walked in and told the woman that I would like white powder gel with silver ombré sparkles on my ring finger. I wanted this specifically because I have a wedding this weekend. She asked me 4 times what color I wanted and I told her 4 times "white". I don't think she understood anything. Towards the end of my nail appointment I asked her to do the ombré that she was clearly forgetting. She tried to do sparkles on my entire nail. I then asked her for "ombré" again. She looked at me confused. I showed her a picture and she told me she couldn't do it. I specifically asked for this at the beginning of my appointment and they told me they could do it so I'm confused as to why at the end of my appointment they told me they couldn't. I asked ahead of time because I would have went someplace else if they told me they couldn't do it. My nails are three times as thick as they've ever been and look horrible. She also made both of my big toes bleed and hurt a lot. I now have to rush to get my nails done AGAIN in 2 days before the wedding (which is not easy for a nurse working the night shift the next 2 nights). It was a waste of 80 dollars and 2 hours. Things have changed drastically since my initial review 4 years ago. Absolutely horrible job! I came here last Saturday for a gel manicure and regular pedicure. By Sunday my pinky nail broke from putting my hand into a diaper bag to retrieve a diaper. I went back Monday morning and I asked them to fix the nail and also asked if they could put a tip on since it broke not even 12 hours later and I have had long nails for years. I was told it would be $5. When I pushed back I was told "your nail, your problem." I was pretty enraged since I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks in England where I actually reside and they NEVER BREAK. I told them just to fix the nail by repainting it with gel and I left. fast forward to a week later and my nails on my left hand have now broken to nubs and the polish on my toes have chipped. I have never seen anything like this in my life. I will never return to this dump the next time I'm in Long Beach visiting my parents. absolutely horrible job and it cost me $61 + tip! read more

I've been going to Lucky Nail Spa for about 5 months, I've been to other nail salons in Long Beach, but this is the best I have found since I have lived here. The salon is always clean, the nail technicians are always professional, and their prices are great. Today I went in for my usual, a pedicure and a fill in. I love this salon. My first issue with them is they don't have disposable tool kits. I got over that issue since I used to use them as my back up nail place because they do a decent job at painting... until today. I went in for a gel mani and regular pedi but had gel on both areas to take off. I got my nails done and my gel off my toes and the owner rudely states they "don't have time for my pedi, but can do a polish change", which mind you is $15. When I tried to explain to the owner that wasn't right because the time issue with them closing was not communicated (although they had 20 min), she gave me a smirk and snarky attitude. Never have I been treated so rudely at a nail salon or spa in my life. Needless to say, I will not be back. This is a good neighborhood nail salon. Very clean with a lot of nail polish choices. My nail polish has stayed on without chipping for 2 weeks before and it wasn't gel. They have a special polish meant to stay for a week, but it usually stays longer. It can get busy but the price and service is worth the wait. read more

Despite the very well done gel manicure and pedicure, the entire service was rushed and below par. The woman was not friendly, seemed annoyed when told her that I had a gel pedicure on my toes that needed removal (even though I had told her prior to beginning the service), and even pushed my hands away each time she needed me to switch hands. When it was time to wash my hands, she had told me "wash", instead of asking me politely, let alone smile. The decor is great ... The woman in the front is great. Polish selection is good. I got gel Mani regular pedi it came out good... I gave 2 stars because the woman that did my nails (don't know her name, butterfly tattoo on her hand) was SO RUDE! She rolled her eyes at me, she was pissed off that she chipped her Mani during my pedicure and showed her coworkers in front of me... I paid $10 extra dollars for a massage and it sucked ! She was scratching me and rolled her eyes when I said "would it be OK if it was more of a foot massage?" BC she was rubbing my shins and calves and it hurt ! This is my go to nail salon! I just moved to Long Beach in November and this is the only place I've gone or will go. Superior service, awesome skills, and cute salon. They know me by name and will even squeeze me in for my weekly manicure, even when I'm the last/only customer there. Highly recommend. Also...I recommend a 10 minute massage while your nails are drying...only $10, it feels great, and you don't get bored waiting for paint to dry! read more
