Holy cow, oh-my-amazing. I sent Lucky Onion a quote request via Yelp! along with 3-4 other ones it suggested I could contact. I needed 8 - 4"x4" cards printed for my bridal party on card stock. Lucky Onion was *by far* the fastest to respond and I was blown away how quick the turnaround time was. I gather it was the most cost effective option since other companies that finally got around to messaging me back (some didn't at all) let me know that I didn't meet their minimum order requirement. Amazing! I got all of my wedding stationary: save the dates, invitations, napkins, signage, escort cards, guest book etc from Cristy at lucky onion. They do amazing custom artwork (maps for welcome packers, watercolors) for the inside of envelopes) and have the most creative ideas that helped make our wedding so unique. CJ Kard in Colorado Springs is a retailer of L.O. products, and we were fortunate to have recently ordered some Save The Date cards through them. We were brain-fried after going through page after page of designs by some large corporate stationers/printers. After some discussion, CJ Kard realized we might be interested in an in-state printer who dabbled in being "green" - and L.O. was introduced. We were super excited to discover that L.O. offers a variety of paper stock with at least 30% PCW up to 100%, and their website details other Earth-good practices. We loved how all the stationery was customizable, but the cheapest way to go is to stick with existing designs and layouts. The first proof is free. Within three days after putting in our order and including the photo we wanted them to use, L.O. sent an electronic proof. We made a minor adjustment, and 7 days later, our cards arrived! They turned out better than I expected - they even look better than the proof! The colors are wonderful, the designs are crisp, and I love the feel of the paper. L.O. included envelopes for the number of cards we ordered and threw in a couple extra cards as keepsakes. After all was said and done with CJ Kard taking their share of the profits and Uncle Sam taking his, our SaveTheDates ended up being $1.48/card. We're so pleased that we're going to try to do our invitations with L.O., too. We worked with Lucky Onion on our wedding invitations. We liked the previous work they did and felt better about working with local printers and designers rather than the big online shops. We were excited to work with them, but our excitement quickly turned to frustration as soon as we started working. Our initial quote coming back WAY over our budget, we were reassured that they could create something beautiful within our budget. The project ended up still ending up costing way over our budget. We showed the designer a few samples of ideas and concepts we liked, and she was going to build her own based off of the examples we gave. The first few iterations were terrible and way off the mark, it took a lot of iterations and headaches to get it even close to the examples and ideas we provided. Every design iteration we received just seemed way off - fonts, sizes, and spacing were completely random and made no logical sense. My fiancé and I had to build our own mockups in Paint, Word and Photoshop to send to her just to move things along. We thought about walking away and losing our deposit (1/2 of the cost) after the design was not turning out how we wanted it and we were getting frustrated. Our invitations came out OK in the end. We weren't thrilled with them, but we were so fatigued, frustrated, and jaded, there was nothing we wanted to do at that point other than send them out. Due to all the back and forth with trying to get the design right, they were sent about about 3 weeks later than we originally planned. If you want a custom design, I dont recommend using this company, as they charge for every requested design change & iteration. They ended up not charging us for some of the changes after we voiced our displeasure, which was very nice; but most companies these days whether its on Etsy, or even the big companies like Minted dont charge you for unlimited iterations/changes. read more
