Our groomer Katherine, was excellent. She was very friendly and patient with our eight month old Labrador retriever (about 90 minutes for grooming). His fur is now very soft, clean, nails are perfectly trimmed and she gave him a sanitary trim so he has clean private parts now! We had our first experience with Lucky Paws in July and I'm sooo disappointed. It's a surprise because the Yelp reviews were positive, but this cut almost seems as if she had never groomed a dog before. It's uneven, choppy and she even trimmed his WHISKERS. It's so bad that people are noticing and commenting on it. I think my three-legged, long hair chi mix could've done a better job himself. It was also expensive, almost double what I normally pay. Two stars because they were responsive and nice when booking appointment. His hair will grow back (and hopefully his whiskers) but we will never use them again. read more

There are quite a few mobile pet grooming places for dogs, a few for cats, and very few that do both. We were referred to Lucky Paws by a dog groomer who knew we needed both services. We found fleas on our fattest, meanest cat Nina, and figured it must have spread to the other animals. I was ready to pay anything in the world to have them all washed immediately! However, Katy gave great advice in that we should wait a few days after administering the medication which would lead to a better chance of eradication. The truck was very clean an accessible. Two of our cats are easy breezy in general - they went first, all fine (and no fleas!). Then came hissing, doesn't like too be touched Nina the big big cat. Katy was non-plussed, even when Nina tried to bite once. She calmed down, and came back into our home looking absolutely better that she has ever looked in her adult life. Not just were the fleas gone, but Katy did a wonderful job with her thick undercoat and some matting at her tail where Nina can't reach (and generally won't let us touch). And finally, our chocolate lab, who is also pretty docile but was terrified of the truck (the dog needs to move from the lift to the sink, and Lucky was scared). Katy was aware of her limitation and called us in to help - but once Lucky was in there, he had a great time and also came back into our house looking very handsome. Was it expensive...yep. I've spent less. But I've also had a wet cat returned, had cats returned without their nails clipped, had quite frankly scary looking people I'd never turn my animal over to show up in previous appointments. So given this is mostly for our cats who only need washing every so often, I'd use them again and again. You can trust Katy will be kind to your animal regardless of their temperament, be on time, stay in touch with you during the process and present a nice, clean vehicle. I'd request her over and over again. read more

Before providing this grooming vendor with your business, you should know about their unilateral client agreement. First of all, they require you to hold them harmless for any negligence by their groomers. I have never seen such language in any professional agreement -- with the exception of high-risk activities like SCUBA. Additionally, the agreement permits them to use photos of your pets without the owner's authorization. Finally, the agreement requires that the customer notify them with 48 hours notice if the appt needs to be canceled by the customer. However, the agreement permits them a two hour window to arrive for the appt and "may" call you if the appt needs to be canceled by them. Caveat emptor -- you have been warned! read more

(Anyone else still permanently scarred from America's Most Wanted in the 90s?) But I think that just speaks to our groomer's amazing compassion for pets and unconditional positive regard for our doggo. He HATES water and baths and was such a goodboi for her. Too many canceled appointments for me. One time they didn't show up and texted me 30 min later asking if I was still in the area. Another time they cancelled my appointment because I didn't confirm ? I've never experienced that before. Especially since I show up to all my appointments, why would I book them otherwise?
