    Shiba and our dog Penny

Thank you Kris Kelly for being so wonderful and kind when I was adopting my cat Shiba. She is doing great and is loving all the attention she's getting at the house. Again thank you so so much.

Kris Kelly is the most amazing woman you could ever meet I've been working with her rescue for over 10 years. She is up for what is best for all animals even farm animals. She is respected by so many in her community and outside of her community. She will save an animal and she will put it in a great home until she finds the right one. So if you're ever looking for a pet become your family member you need to look at her to help you find the right fit for your family. Thank you Kris for all you do I really am grateful that I got to meet you and that we work together

My second experience was terrible. After my puppy was killed while with me on leash by a reckless driver, I later returned to L&L to look for a new baby. Different set of employees, and both my nephew and I were shocked that one of them seemed to blame me for my puppy being killed. He was rude, insensitive to the circumstance, and he did all he could to throw up roadblocks to helping me. He was an expressionless jerk who had zero empathy or professionalism. I contacted the manager about this, and though she three times promised to call me back, she never did. This is heartless behavior for a place that is supposed to be doing good. I will never go back to that place again. The only reason this is not a 1-star review is because my first experience with them was good. That appears to have been an anomaly. I adopted a pup from Best Friends West LA, which I cannot recommend enough.

We went and met Nes and Duke along with the trainer OJ. My wife and I were able to control and walk Duke with no problem. But they wouldn't allow me to adopt him because they say that my back yard has no shade, and that the gate is not secure enough. Actually the back yard has shade for about 1/2 the day once the sun if to the east, but the home inspector came by at 10:00 AM, so not much shade then. However, Duke would primarily be an indoor dog, and less than a block away is a park with all the grass and shade a dog could want. The back yard would be only for a potty area, and leg stretching area between walks. I have had my son in laws 3 Husky dogs back there and not once have they opened the gate, or broken through it, and they outweigh duke by about 2 to 1. Was I given a chance to address their concerns? Nope. That is why I am giving them 2 stars. If they have concerns, Let me address them, or at least call me and ask me about them, and then they can decide if we would be a suitable dog parents or not. Personally, I don't think that they took to my wife and me, and were looking for any reason not to let us adopt duke. (this is only my belief, and I have no proof one way or another.) And one more thing that I wasn't a fan of. The training. The trainer wants complete obedience from the dog. He thought that I was giving Duke too much affection for not doing anything. Who does that? If you love your dog, you give him affection for no other reason than he is a dog, and you want to make him feel loved. We don't just parcel out affection for only the times they do a behavior that we want from them. Overall, I am soured on rescues in general, and I will be only looking at animal shelters from this point forward. Good luck to anyone adopting from this rescue, but be prepared that they will say no without giving you a chance to explain or fix any issues.

Many other organizations got involved, but were all talk & honestly, just put you email chains .. With no real help or knowledge. The dog used to belong to a homeless man who died on the streets and the police brought him to the shelter. The Diana Gray Foundation was rehabilitating this boy spending a five digit amount for his medical needs in less than six months. Evander is today a happy boy, getting his weekly Physical Therapy and acupuncture, his home cooked meals, daily homeopathy and Chinese medicine to treat his many issues that have caused this boy a great deal of distress for years on the streets as a homeless dog. Since it was love at first sight, the foundation decided to keep the boy for life and to care for him like nobody else could. Treating his body, mind and soul. This is a truly amazing rescue. They believe deep down in the core of every rescue mission there is one goal in mind: rehabilitating the dog with everything Mother Earth has to offer. No other rescue is working with this principle and no other rescue was willing to put the time, effort and money into little Evander, who had zero hope in the world to be left to live and get well again. I want to thank Diana Gray for being this boy's guardian angel. And for deciding to keep him and offer him a world of love, care and support.

There is a reasonable adoption fee of $150 that covers medical care, food, and other expenses. Also included is neuter/spay. You can fall in love with a pet online, like I did! I came across a photo and profile of the world's cutest kitten (see photo) on petfinder.com, but you can also see them at billfoundation.org. I filled out an adoption application and spoke on the phone with the adoption coordinator as well as the foster mom. After approval, both of these women hand-delivered Marcello, driving all the way from the Valley to my Culver City pad. They gave me some food, bowls, and a few of his favorite toys. His sister came along to say goodbye to her brother! I was tempted to adopt her as well, but I couldn't at the time. It was evident that they cared for him very much. They checked up on us with a phone call a few weeks later. When I took Marcello for his first vet check up, the vet said he was incredibly clean and healthy for a former street cat (he was born on the streets!)-- no eye gook or other infections that are common with shelter or adoption agency kittens. He was quite impressed with his adoption agency. A month after his adoption the foundation contacted me to make sure I was neutering him soon. I was able to take him to their vet at no cost to me. My kitty was fixed in 90210! What a great orginazation doing great work for homeless animals! These are animals that may have otherwise been picked up by animal services and to a shelter. Beatrice and Dante were welcomed into our hearts, even with Dante's severe aggression that required many months of patience, and my loss of blood on many occasions until be felt safe and loved. They shared their unconditional love for Elsie and I for far more many years that others could have expected because of their prior extended foster care that this organization stepped up and provided after their deplorable life at the hands of cruel breeders, these two specials angels became our life companions. Then shortly afterwards, The Bill Foundation urgently called Elsie with a very special young lady, Judy. Judy was a vibrant lovable darling little girl attached to Elsie's hips for her entire stay with us until her passing 17 years later in 2020, it was a remarkable relationship for both. After Beatrice and Dante had sadly passed our home was needing companionship, we found our way back to the Bill Foundation, and eyes met, hearts pounded, and the long and continuing love affair between Larry and Pippi which continues today, yet years after Pippi's short six years and her passing Larry still grieves for her love. Its the compassion of people like the Bill Foundation, though no longer assisting with the compassion needed to respond to the needs of those most needing the love , affection, to be protected, safe, warm, fed , provided the needed medical care, they have been sadly missed for the past years, however, they set the goal for those of us especially supporting the necessity of rescuing rather the supporting the breeding puppy mills. That so called "ugly" dog or cat can give you the upmost and greater unconditional love and affection then any special breed costing a small fortune. A sixth star is needed for FANTASTIC.
