Jasmine did an amazing job on both my boys. I have a jindo/corgi mix and a blue heeler/great Pyrenees. She took them in last minute, which I'm so so so grateful for, and they look/smell beautifully. She really took time with my big boy as his under coat causes alot of shedding. She's a true professional who I highly recommend. Lowering to 2 stars. When they first opened I loved this place, now, not so much. I have moved to a mobile groomer because I brought my dogs here, paid extra for a long haired shepherd fully knowing and explaining that the hair would need some attention. Didn't get it, I even sent a picture when I got home after I brushed her again with a huge pile of hair, never got a response. January 2025, just never updated my review until now. My grandmother had referred me to this place and gave me the number to call today. They were so kind on the phone and even more amazing in person! They take walk ins no appointment necessary. I was shocked how fast they got us in! Same day at that! I really liked the vibe of this place. Everyone working here was so kind and greeted my dog so happily. My dog was a little nervous at first since it's a new place and instantly warmed up to everyone. Esp after hearing his name and getting so much love and pets. He was sold and I was too. We've been coming to Lucky Penny's for year with our dog and we keep coming back for a reason. The shop is located in a little business plaza and there's always plenty of parking, including spots right out front that make it easy to get pups in and out. I always start by letting my guy walk around near the building to have a last minute potty break before going in and have even done a quick walk in the nearby neighborhood. Inside is bright and welcoming and it always smells good and looks organized, even after a large grooming session where the there's a lot of fur left behind- my dog is guilty of being a massive shedder. The team here is really friendly and they are so sweet with the dogs. I always feel comfortable dropping off and they do a great job of giving me a call with a heads up about twenty minutes before he's done. When I come back my dog is always happy to see me, and is looking and smelling amazing. I always make my appointments well in advance, and they have been able to fit me in the same week when I've needed it. Chris, the owner really cares about each of his clients and is so kind to each dog. I'm glad I found a spot I can trust. read more

It's unfortunate I have gone from a 5 star to a low star - several months ago my 2 yr old pup endured an incident that ended up going to the ER for treatment that couldn't be done at home. Granted it wasn't intentional however I don't feel comfortable bringing my pup at this time knowing he would probably be nervous from what happened & just how the financial stuff was not handled in the best timely manner for customers. Chris was cooperative but I had to come out of pocket for vet bills for a month until he figured out what needed to be done to file a claim through his insurance, which was inconvenient financially for our family. So glad I found Lucky Penny's! I wasn't happy with the last groomer I had been taking my goldendoodle to. Lucky Penny's is great. I called and left a message asking to make an appointment and I was called later the same day. The lady I spoke to gave me a bunch of really good info and was super helpful in explaining all of the grooming services. My dog seemed to love her grooming experience. She has allergies and it was great that Lucky Penny's had the option for hypoallergenic shampoo. Jasmin was great and listened to exactly how I wanted my dog to be trimmed and groomed. Rachel, our lovely Sac yelp community manager, recommended Lucky Penny's and one look at their website shows me the owner really cares about transparency and has a huge love for dogs. With that first impression, I called and booked an appointment for a few days later (I think four or five days) at the end of the year in 2022 for my lil goldendoodle puppy. The storefront is on the smaller side with a check in desk and some products on the left side of the entrance. However, you get to see the entire set up behind the counter! Everything is in plain sight and I lowkey just wanted to stay and stare out of curiosity haha. They took my pup from me and she was whining, is this what it feels like to drop off your kid at daycare for the first time ever? Again, I totally wanted to stay but she was going to be there for about 3ish hours give or take. They told me they would call me 20 minutes in advance for pick up which unfortunately wasn't the case, I got a call saying she was ready for pick up. Poor girl was the last one there because I had a long drive :(, but the staff was playing with her and she wasn't locked up in a kennel. They informed me that she did very well in the grooming process but was nippy at the air dryer. Overall, pupper was soft, floofy, and smelled so great. I almost didn't recognize her after her cut since I could finally see her eyes again haha. I think she had a great time and I would definitely come back, thank you Lucky Penny's! read more

We have been going to posh paws for around a year, and they started having shitty service and beyond shitty treatment for my dog. I wanted to find another groomer that was reasonable in price and in distance. I came across Lucky Penny's Dog Grooming and I was excited to take my dog here. They had good reviews on google and yelp and the pictures of the happy doggos, made me call them and schedule an appointment. The Scheduling is super easy, they ask a couple follow up questions about the dog and get you an appointment! Upon arrival everything was great, as usual my dog was anxious but she usually is anytime she goes to the groomers, but she was treated well and everything was great. My fur baby is beaming every time she comes and goes. The prices are also extremely competitive. Most salons for a teddy bear cut on a mini doodle tries to charge close to 120-150. I pay usually about 80-90 bucks before tipping here. She gets a bath, blow out, hair cut, ear clean, nail trim, and anal gland expression for this amount.
