We were on our way home after 5 days at New River Gorge National Park. This was by far our favorite restaurant! The options were inventive, food was fresh, service was friendly, and the ambiance was lovely. I wish this place was closer to home as I would frequent it often. I had the special which was turkey and cheese with pickled onions and other yummy local ingredients. My son wanted the falafel sandwich but they were out of he was bummed so he ordered the veggie quesadilla. The waitress ordered the wrong thing for him (roast beef). She realized her mistake immediately and apologized many times. We were not upset. They more than made up for it by giving him free (and yummy) guacamole. They also offered us the sandwich but we don't eat beef. Instead, they gave us free deserts. We tried to say it wasn't necessary but she insisted. My husband got the Buddha bowl. We loved everything. My son wasn't the least bit upset about the wait as he ate half of mine and my husband's food. lol. Go. You won't be disappointed. read more

The surf and turf tacos are served with raw fish. They don't state that on the menu. They then said they wouldn't take it off because it said "seared on the menu. It Does NOT. We pointed that out and they said "oh I forgot they're new menus". They then finally removed it. They have no soda only unsweetened tea and sour lemonade. The waitress said the owner was there and wouldn't let her remove the meal, but the owner never came out to talk to us themselves. Very limited menu. Not great for kids. Will not be back. If you are a vegetarian in the Summers County area, this is the best food option for sure (although all the meat loving folks in my family love it too)! They have amazing salads, a wonderful "Buddha bowl", and an incredible falafel. They will also gladly leave the bacon off that incredible pimento cheese sandwich if you request it (and will even serve it on the side for a bacon lover at your table to eat if you ask). We are Lucky to have Lucky Rivers in Hinton! The owner, Sarah, has gone from strength to strength over the past few years. They have a full lunch and dinner menu, with beer and wine as well as a wide variety of non alcoholic beverages. Our favorites are the prime rib gyro, the roast beef sandwich, and the jambon beurre. The specials are amazing and the desserts are to die for. Had lunch there yesterday great hole in the wall spot. Eclectic menu and sandwiches Enjoyed the surf and turf tacos roast beef falafel burger and ham sandwich all have house names. The Mac salad is worth upgrading to but the house chips are good The desserts and service were excellent. The flavor profiles are different and exciting. In the rustic berg of Hinton this place knocks it out of the park. Have a suggestion to the owner if they check these. The jambon could use a little kicker. Food is still outstanding. It's always fresh and as much as possible they get local farm ingredients. Staff is very nice. It's a comfortable relaxing place. A hidden gem in a very small town. I ate here one time several months ago and it just wasn't for me. It was on my list to try again because so many people talk about it so I thought maybe it was just an off day for me. On Facebook there is this post asking for reviews and saying that this mean evil person ate there and was leaving hundreds of bad reviews and now the rating had dropped to 1. I came to read all these negative reviews. There is only one negative review that I can find. The rating is still good so I don't know why this post is going around Facebook. Makes no sense to me at all. Furthermore, any owner of a business that goes to the reviews and attacks a review that the owner admits the review was left by young children. Not hundreds of reviews like the Facebook post insinuates. ONE REVIEW ON GOOGLE AND ONE ON YELP that I could find. That is not okay. Telling customers that you are happy they won't come back just because they didn't like your food is just bad business. I won't give this place a second chance and for all the parents of children, just remember the owner says this place is not for kids. Attacking children like that is not okay. You all go ahead and eat this place up. Good to know you think its okay for any adult to attack children that left a review you didn't like. The only other negative review I saw was how the owner respended to children just because those children did not like her food. NOPE This place is not for me. read more

This place was so good I came here two days in a row. The first night I ate in and had a Buddha Bowl - perfectly dressed and delicious. I also got an oatmeal cookie, yum. Their peach black tea was great as well. I sat in a booth and read for a bit and they were fine with that. The second night I got takeout - a fennel salad special that made my mouth water. This is an oasis in a food dessert. The dishes were creative, well proportioned, healthy and most importantly delicious. We had the buddy bowl and tacos, topped off the their cheesecake. We were lucky to find this hidden gem in the WV hills. We are on a month long bike adventure from Texas. Sarah was delightful and the young lady in the front from California was the sweetest.
