Chicken Biscuit
Doris E.

This local WV chain offers up a big variety of biscuit sandwiches along with some other breakfast, lunch and dinner options. We tried a few of the sandwiches and all were simple, fresh and tasty. The biscuits are fluffy and warm. The cinnamon apples are a nice side, not too sweet and the apples have some crunch. The place was empty when we arrived around 6:30 pm and service at the counter was slow but friendly. Nice decor and music playing at a good volume.

If they were kinda jerks to me, it'd be AttiTudor's. But they weren't. They were really nice. I wanted so badly to love tutor. I wanted it to be the best biscuit ever. I didn't care that it was a chain I was just so starving. Unfortunately the sandwiches here are a little dry and taste like they are not made with much love. Definitely tastes like a chain. Prices are absolutely incredible and for that reason I'm very close to giving them a 4-star rating but I have to stick with the 3 because of how dry and dissatisfied they ultimately were.

Eggs over medium. Apple and gravy.

If you are like me, and come from Jersey/NY like me, biscuit places like this are rare. While in town for a project, I decided to stop by and try the local hotspot. Ordered the super breakfast, put some gravy on my biscuit, pack it up and it was delicious. It was good, and the warm apples were to die for. Overall, a great experience. Food to table took a while, but what do you expect waiting for fresh food and a drive through with ten cars lined up

The Mary B (bacon, egg, & cheese) - great!

Gotta love Tudors. It's a WV staple. Food is good, prices are reasonable, and it's a greasy spoon restaurant serving comfort food.

The biscuit was flakey, buttery and delicious, if just a pinch on the dry side.

This place is...interesting, in a good way. When I was told I was going out of town for a work…read moreevent in West Virginia and this was the name of the place. I had no idea exactly what this place was. My colleague kept referring to it as just a Moose. And a lot of use know that means something else, more in lines with a bar. The person that invited us out to here for the event didn't give us much information about what we should expect. But I am happy I came here, because of how unique of a place this is. Most people would assume that this may be a place for ice cream and you'd be partially right. This place is a mix of things that you would not expect. First and foremost, it is a well used coffee shop. Even though there is a well known national competitor right up the road. There is a steady stream of vehicles in and out throughout the day. Inside, in the coffee portion of the space, it gives definite coffee shop vibes. Couches, armchairs, tables, books, magazines, etc. That coziness could be a big draw on a cold day. I had myself a chai tea latte from here and it was delicious. They are quick with their ordering process and making of the drink. What else is here you ask? Well, let me tell you. There is an ice cream parlor tucked away on the opposite side of the coffee shop. You can enter this through the coffee shop or from the outside entrance on the side of the building. This area, then leads you to another location on the lot. Putt-Putt. Behind the building, there is a miniature golf course built into the hillside. One that is West Virginian history themed. Another thing this place has is an indoor climbing wall. I didn't get a chance to check that out.

They stirred my coffee clockwise even after reminding them it needs to be stirred counter clock ways. I forgive. But next time...

The inside building was filled with local artist creations from lamps, pottery, jewelry, walking sticks, music instruments, blown glass, 2D art and food. After finding out pepperoni rolls are the unofficial state food of WV, we picked 2 up, and made a 4 pack of WV beers. We spent almost 2 hours browsing everything in this shop. You can watch glass being blown and pottery being made through the artists windows. Highly recommend this place if you like local and unique art. Ps, you purchase your things at customer service. It was a bit confusing, a stranger stopped to ask us where to pay so we weren't the only confused ones.

Omelet Shoppe - A Little Slice of Road-Trip Americana…read more There isn't much in Beckley when it comes to very early breakfast before hiking New River Gorge NP, so we picked Omelet Shoppe mostly because it was a few blocks from the hotel and, honestly, how wrong can you go with eggs and bacon? Turns out: wonderfully right. This diner is pure road-trip gold, the kind of place where time slows down just enough for the coffee to taste better. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, greeting locals with hugs, warm questions about their families, and the kind of genuine familiarity that makes you wonder if you've accidentally walked into a reunion. And somehow, they made us feel like we were long-lost regulars too. It was all very wholesome and slightly magical. The food was simple, satisfying, exactly what breakfast should be when you're about to climb, wander, and sweat your way through a national park. So good, in fact, that we came back every single morning. Because why mess with perfection? A true little gem, comforting, unpretentious, and warm in all the right ways.

Pros Quanity- My omelet, home fries, toast, and coffee were about $13, so very affordable for some greasy spoon- type breakfast. Cons Service- Our service was spotty, and not the warmest, but can be understandable. Taste- I may have gotten the wrong thing, but overall there wasn't a whole lot of flavor (until I added hot sauce...that helped). Speed- Came in about 8:30, and it was 1/4- 1/2 full, but still took about 35 minutes to get our food after ordering. Not the slowest, but could have been better. Overall could have been a worse experience, and if you are wanting some quick, simple, Waffle House- style food, this is a good place to check out!

Omelet That Slide…read more Founded in 1948 by the eponymous Bob Evans in Gallipolis, OH. While no longer run by the Evans family, Bob Evans restaurants are now numbered somewhere around 450 restaurants nationwide (mostly in the Midwestern/Southern regions of the USA, altho they do have locations in PA, NY, & NJ). This location is not too far from Hwy 19 here in WV and would make a good stop for road trippers and commuters alike. The Good: *Friendly and prompt service *Coffee was classic diner fare *Prices are ridiculously cheap for large portions (please note I'm from CA, so take that with as grain of salt) *Large and plentiful parking lot *Biscuits were bomb AF *Chicken Fried Steak was not spectacular, but it got the job done. The eggs were cooked well; the steak was nice and crispy; and the hash browns were the classic representation. The Meh: . *Décor is on the non-offensive kinda boring classic diner motif. *While the food was all very good, nothing was spectacular and worthy of an immediate return trip. The Ugly: *Whatever you do, don't look at the calories for the food here. 0_o TLDR: Solid American fare that's a good solid stop when available, and also easy on the wallet, too.
