The snacks though... I have sat on this review for over a week. I am trying to determine two things: 1. What is the Lucky Shamrock exactly? a convenience store or an international grocery store? 2. Are these prices out of hand, or are they more or less reasonable? Here are the answers I have been able to come up with: 1. "Yes" ...it is a convenience store that specializes in selling English and Irish products. They also have some US products and a limited selection of adult beverages. 2. "Yes" - Almost $7 for 20 oz of Heinz is obscene. However, I was recently in the new Neon Marketplace, and the same container is only a dollar less. Thus, compared to Target or Walmart, the prices are outrageous. Compared to other convenience stores, I can see where they're coming from. I want to award credit where credit is due. They do have a fair selection of imported goods such as chips, candies, juices, jams, and even some meat products. While not cheap, considering these are imported, the prices are manageable. I also am not going to make a fuss about it being a little cramped inside. That is also somewhat to be expected. Thus, while I am not thrilled at convenience-store level prices for something like Heinz ketchup, I do appreciate the selection of imported goods that cannot be obtained anywhere else (that I know of). I suppose it is a matter of managing your grocery list. Still, if you want Walkers instead of Lays (with the different flavors), expect to pay a premium. read more

I have been to this market on several occasions, they do have quite the selection of imported items, especially Cadbury items. Their prices seem a bit steep but they always have sale tags on many items. On the last 3 occasions, I bought items that were on sale, for example, most recent purchases the Cadbury large bars were ALL tagged, "buy 1 bar at $5.99, get $100 off 2nd bar. All 3 times the cashier charged full price and did not provide discount, until I told him, and then acted like, oh, I forgot. This last time we stopped in was yesterday (June 27, 2025) and, again, my family bought items based on the offered sale. When we got in the car I looked at the receipt (which was reluctantly given to me only after asking for it) I noticed that not only were 2 bars of chocolate, which should have been (based on the sale tags on ALL the bars) not discounted, but, instead of the $5.99 which was clearly stated on the shelf tags, we were charged $6.49/bar. My wife went back into the store and came back out with a reply that this was the correct price (even though shelf tag was $5.99) and that she had to buy 2 OF THE EXACT SAME BARS!! I'm sorry but that is ridiculous, every one of the large Cadbury bars had the exact same signage! Needless to say, the difference of .50/bar, and the $1 off, total of $2, has now cost them my business, we will never shop there again. I don't mind premium prices for premium items but getting treated like this is clearly a rip-off!!! read more

Great source for Euro Cadbury chocalates. We visited 2 weeks before Easter and there were so many fun bunny themed chocolates! Aero choc and so many others I was not familiar with, lots of hazelnut flavors. Black and white puddings in the cooler. Irish baked beans. Plus, regular beer and lotto for the locals. And a fancy room for cigars? Not sure, didn't venture over there. read more

It's a neighborhood market with a twist, no different than the hundreds of Latino markets and dozens of Asian markets. The big difference is what you find: legitimate UK brands and products. It has the usual American items, but a vast array of UK items at reasonable import prices. Impulse buying can add up, so be wary of your money as you'll lose yourself in the selection of items. The only downside is that it's cramped and some of the items might not be as good as they should be due to the need to freeze them. It's a neighborhood market so of course it's cramped, but I didn't expect it to be so small. The prices on some products are a bit steep, especially as they're not imports. As nice as Irish-style sausages may be, at the price they want I could buy a grinder and make my own for less than it costs to buy their sausages. And the butter is more expensive than what I can get at the supermarket, it's not exactly a unique item to have the price so high. If you just need some snacks and teas or even condiments and drinks, this is your place. If you want a whole meal, you might be better off recreating with local ingredients. read more

I will never shop there again and tell all I know as I believe they are deliberately misleading and using unscrupulous practices on the Irish shoppers. read more

Got my stash of British candy! This is a little supermarket/convenience store. Has a good variety of British foods. Cadburys Turkish Delight, Wispas and Wispa Gold, Penguins cookies, Flakes, Curlywurlys, and best of all Crunchies. YUMMM. Prices on some of the items are reasonable others are high. I make a monthly trip to stock up on candy. British candy is the best around. Wish it was closer. read more

I have been coming to this store for over 2 years while I was living in the South Shore, and continued to do so even after moving to the North Shore. It's been fairly ok experience, I typically just go in pick up what i need check out and have had no issues. On 12-19-2020 I went in to pick up some stuff for Christmas. Amongst those things was some Applewood Bacon. When i went home and unloading the bag, the wife looked and noticed that the package was dated 12-15-2020. I called and mentioned it to the store at first the woman i was speaking with first told me "well it's fine because bacon doesn't go bad" and then "that is not true because we do not sell expired bacon". I got off the phone with no incidence but had decided that i probably would not be returning to the store. 5 minutes later, i received a call from a gentleman from the store who apologized and said that next time i come in just let them know and they will give me a refund. The call back was reassuring and since i had promised the wife a full English breakfast on Christmas morning, i decided to head back the next weekend to pick up some bacon. When i arrived, all of the TM Applewood Bacon had been completely removed from the fridge, I opted for and alternative. When I got to check out, I informed the clerk of my previous purchase and she basically called me a liar by again saying "that's not true, we never sell expired bacon" and continued to make the same claim in a very condescending tone. Not wanting to make a scene, i simply paid for my items and left. To be called a liar over something so trivial from the owner of an establishment infuriated me and all i can do is choose to no longer patronize their establishment. To the gentleman who called at first to apologize, i appreciate the kind gesture and great customer service. All the good British chocolates and other miscellaneous food items are there. The cute family who owns the store is extremely kind. One of the chocolates in a multipack we picked up were expired. They pointed it out, and gave a free non-expired chocolate bar of the same kind. Additionally, they gave us a free bag of chocolates as we were leaving and wished us a merry Christmas. I am lucky to live so close to the Lucky Shamrock. This place is so convenient! They have saved me on numerous occasions because they stock such random items such as sugar or chicken broth so I don't have to run down to Stop & Shop on a busy Saturday. They just made a huge renovation and the place is even twice as big as it was before so it never feels cramped. There is usually more than one person behind the counter too so I am never waiting long before being served. I'm also pretty sure they may be a family-run business so they actually care about good service AND that is rare for a convenience store. Now that I have been to the Lucky Shamrock, I am never going to a 7 Eleven ever again. read more

This has to be my favorite shop in America. All the things you normally would have to fly all the way back to Ireland for, or have your family bring over when they come to visit, you can get right here, for alot less than the price of an Aer Lingus ticket! Lucozade, Cadbury, Tayto, Barry's tea, biscuits, sausages, pudding, even Brennan's bread, they literally have everything you miss from home. They also have your standard American groceries here as well. They are open late, and have to be the nicest shop keepers I've ever met. I would consider myself a regular here and have nothing but great things to say about the store and the family that owns it. I actually enjoy going in there and chatting with everyone! The whole family is very welcoming and kind. I do wish they could have gotten a liquor license; however, I completely understand why they couldn't (selfishly, it would have made my life easier on the walk home from the train.) Lovely store that provides almost all things British (and Irish)!!! We drove up from RI to stock up on all of the good chocolates and other Christmas dinner necessities we need for our Christmas Day dinner. We were able to get two big Christmas puddings - the last two they had. And their assortment of chocolates and other snacks was huge! My only comparison British type store is one in Quincy. Definitely more of a selection in the Lucky Shamrock. It would be even better if they carried sausage rolls and Twirl chocolate bars. read more
