I am giving them a 3 star although I feel like a lot of the issues we have aren't with staff but really the clientele, especially during summer pass season. The arcade games here, particularly those that offers tickets, are often broken because the kids here quite literally cheat and break them. For example, with skeeball, they'll activate both machines and then combine all the balls into one. Then they'll climb into the machine by lifting the glass. We have seen climbing and ball combining for the basketball game as well. I believe Lucky Strikes corporate states that minors are supposed to be chaperoned by adults but I would say 75% of the pre-teens and older crowd are not chaperoned. This leads to them throwing multiple balls at once down the lanes (once, we even witnessed all five kids throw five balls at once for multiple turns) and kids not wearing bowling shoes or even sneakers but flip flops while bowling. The servers are generally friendly and professional but it is possibly understaffed for the size of the venue. If you're going to order food, it'll take at least one full game for it to arrive so plan accordingly. Overall, if it's not significantly more inconvenient, I would consider driving to the Aliso Viejo location. The vibe and atmosphere then is more on par with what Lucky Strikes branding is aiming for. read more

So happy there's a Lucky Strike nearby! Love the decor and atmosphere. I've brought clients here a few times and the staff has always been super accommodating. Actually went with family for their grand opening and we had a great time bowling, munching on appetizers, and checking out the arcade games. Just went again this past Monday with some friends - we bowled a few games and someone grabbed food and a drink. Our waitress was really attentive and we had a blast. One cool thing I learned: they apparently run bowling leagues on Wednesday nights for adults with disabilities, which is pretty awesome. Also heard they have a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights if you're looking for more of a party vibe. Definitely recommend if you want a fun night out with friends or family. We had a mixed experience with Lucky Strike, but I want to be clear that the on-site staff and manager truly saved the day. Scheduling was honestly quite confusing. We were required to pre-pay online for two lanes, which was already fairly expensive. A couple of days after making the reservation, we realized the family we were planning to go with might not be able to make it, so we called about four days in advance just to clarify the cancellation policy. Unfortunately, the person we spoke with on the phone was rude and unhelpful, and bluntly told us there were no cancellations and we were out of luck if we didn't show up, even though we were calling well ahead of time. Luckily, the other family was able to make it after all. However, when we arrived, we were then told they didn't have lanes available for us, which added to the frustration and confusion, especially after being told earlier that nothing could be changed. That said, the employees and manager at the Aliso Viejo location were wonderful. They acknowledged the confusion, were kind and professional, and truly went out of their way to make things right. They gave the kids complimentary game passes while we waited, and once our lanes were ready, we had a great time bowling. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was fun, and the facility was clean and well-run. This is a 4-star review is because of the poor phone experience and confusing scheduling process. For background, I test drove this place with a tiny, extremely casual, corporate event with our partners and suppliers for Christmas. With the way our business is set up, suppliers typically foot the bill for most things. They said they can't reserve just lanes because every night in December is crowded and the events team said I needed to pre-order and pre-pay for food and drinks. My goal was to pre-order and pre-pay for as little as possible, there wouldn't be many people there and I wanted everyone to be able to order whatever they wanted, then place the entire bill on supplier credit cards. It was a bit of a fight but we came to the understanding that I would pre-order and pre-pay for some basic food and lanes and be refunding for the amount after the event concluded and the bill, in it's entirety including the pre-order, was charged to the vendor's cards. Doesn't seem too complicated. I'll keep the rest quick: it was an almost completely empty bowling the night of the event, not crowded in the slightest as reported. There was no one from the events team on site to keep things smooth and organized, they dumped it on the local staff. And the local staff was amazing! They're the reason this got two stars instead of one. Food was decent. Servers were so nice and on their A-game. Everyone had a great time. After the event was over, I grabbed the 5 supplier credit cards, they also required written email addresses and names with each, to ensure receipts went out to the appropriate parties. This poor girl has no idea about the arrangement and talked about how the events team never tells them anything. I explained about the full amount including the initial $1000 from my corporate card that needed to be included. After two transactions, I pointed out that the values looked low and was this right? She said "oh shoot, I forgot to add the initial money," so she went back, refunded, then recharged the two credit cards with the new, higher amount to accommodate the $1000 I had initially paid, then she did the other three cards. The entire process took almost an hour after the event was over. Still a good experience at that point. The next day, I emailed the events team about my refund, per our agreement and they said the full amount was never charged, showed me a completely different receipt than what they had shown me on site and basically held $1000 on my corporate card hostage. I told them exactly how the event had gone down and exactly what I typed here but it was like talking to a brick wall. I ended up going back to my suppliers, asked their permission for the bowling alley to charge more because their staff had gotten it wrong, which is not a good look for me or for Lucky Strike, it's unprofessional. They all reported they never got their receipts emailed anyway and gave me the go-ahead. In the end, we were squared up for whatever their after-the-fact receipt said and I got the refund. The events team has poor customer service, a clunky process and the brunt of the work gets dumped on the onsite team (who were extremely kind). I wonder why their events team even exists. Moral of the story: They've got some issues and attitudes to iron out and I won't be hosting bigger events there to be sure. Great spot for regular bowling though!!! From the moment we walked in, the team made it effortless. We'd reserved a lane in advance; the front desk immediately knew our name and lane, got our shoe sizes in seconds, and we were set. The place was packed--in the best way. Every lane full, tons of families, great music, and so much energy. And the food...way better than I expected for a bowling spot. The pepperoni pizza had this delicious, unexpected kick to the sauce, the fried cauliflower bites were the best I've ever had (I'd come back just to grab those to‑go), and the fish tacos were excellent. Service was the standout. Slade, John, and Dre (manager/ops/our server team) treated us like VIPs--warm, attentive, and genuinely accommodating. The ops manager even entered our names into the scoring system for us, which was such a nice touch. Went in this past Saturday June 28th to watch the UFC fight and take advantage of a beer deal they had on their website (see pic). $5 off Bud light pitchers is what me and my buddies were interested in specifically. When we get to the counter, the bartender tells us they dont have Bud light on tap. I tell him about the promotion and he tells me that " they are a luxury location" and dont honor that deal. It was pretty funny to watch his face as I showed him the web page with the promotion and how it said "Lucky Strike Ladera Ranch" at the top. So he turns around to talk to his manager and then comes back to tell us that we are out of luck basically and that they aren't going to honor their own promotion. The whole time his manager is drilling holes onto us with his eyeballs, probably recognizing us from a previous time when we found out they DIDNT HAVE PITCHERS. To their credit they at least fixed that. So we ended up going to The Ranch in the same parking lot and had an AWESOME time. This place is horribly managed. The fact the bartender told me they are a "luxury" location while being too cheap to honor their own promotion is a level of pathetic that is genuinely hilarious. They dont even have regulation sized lanes for bowling! This second-rate Dave and Busters ripoff has another 18 months left, tops. Way to chase off your customers read more

Horrible experience! Purchased a Groupon, but they wouldn't take it, told us they recently opened, and were not aware of these coupons. But on the Groupon they were listed as one of the Lucky Strike lanes that accept the coupon. We then said we'd just pay the full price to bowl, as we had already showed up with our bowling balls and shoes. They said we couldn't bowl because we didn't reserve a lane head of time? These people are crazy, and I will bet they will be out of business within a year due to such horrible attitudes! We were planning on having lunch, drinks, bowling and have a fun Sunday afternoon, but it was ruined with such rudeness and horrible customer service! We live close by, but we headed up to Forest Lanes and enjoyed ourselves bowling there, we purchased lunch, drinks and met the people who work there. The guy who runs the shop was personable, welcoming and that alone will bring us back there. We experienced great customer service a terrific atmosphere of positive energy and we felt truly welcomed! My wife and I hung out here for about 2.5 hours on a Saturday night and we'd happy be happy to come back. We reserved a lane for 1.5 hours on Saturday night at 7pm. It cost us ~85 for us both. I'm sure other places are cheaper but you're not getting the same vibe. We were welcomed, greeted, and sat at our lanes by Erica & John who seemed to be supervisors. They were very attentive and welcoming. We bowled about 3-4 rounds in about 90 minutes while being served by Diana - our waitress who was great. We had a couple of beers each which were cold and good, and we shared a cheesydilla, some taco thing, and a pazookie - all tasted great and none tasted like the typical deep fried bowling alley food I'm used to. After bowling the 1.5 hours, we hung around the arcade which appeared small but had enough games and variety to keep us around another hour. I loved that, during the time we spent there, the crowd was made up of families with kids and calm and collected people. (I feared the place being slightly rowdy but hoped the RSM/Ladera vibe would balance it). In all, I'd highly recommend the place - and my wife and I will definitely be back. People previously complained about the price and I get it, but you have options. And I think Lucky Strike provides value in the unique, local experience. read more

I love how big this location is! Large and spacious so no/less wait time compared to some of the other bowling alleys in the area. Staff are friendly. The waitstaff, however, is so hard to get in contact with. I wanted to order a few drinks. The lemonade drinks I want are advertised at the front but aren't available on the kiosk at the lane so required me to order with a waitstaff. At the beginning of my game, after playing about 10min. in and not seeing my waitress even after requesting "help" on my order kiosk at my lane, I walked up to the bar and tried to place an order for my drinks. The bartender told me that they don't take drinks there but she would send my waitress over to my lane to take my order. Half a game in with my group of 3, no waitress has showed up yet so I ask other waitstaff around me. Apparently none of the ones I asked are assigned to my lane and they tell me that they will call my waitress. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I asked for my waiter 5x. After finishing our game, I had enough and went back to the bar and told the bartender that my waitress never came and I needed assistance. Finally, they sent one of the other waitresses from one of the other lanes to help me. This is about 40min. in since when I first asked. It seemed as if possibly no waitress was assigned to our lane?? Very frustrating read more

This place could have been a perfect date night. My boyfriend and I came to bowl, have a drink, and have a good time. We had never been here, or to this company, as we usually go to Saddleback Lanes, so we were excited. We were also excited to check out their arcade after we bowled. When the waiter came to take our drink order while we were bowling, she denied us purchase of alcohol because our IDs were vertical. My boyfriend and I are both 24, and we even just had a beer with dinner prior to this. Both of our IDs are also the California Real ID. We asked if she could scan our ID and she said no they don't do that. I asked why she was denying us as this was the first we have ever heard of this and she said "because it's a law," as if I were dumb for not knowing about this sooner. After looking it up online, there is no official law stating you can't serve alcohol to those with a vertical ID (see photo). I didn't catch the server's name but she had pink hair. I try looking this up at the bowling alley and reproaching her (mainly because I am shocked how ridiculous this all was). She had me speak to the manager who now claimed that it was a "company policy". I asked if she could scan my ID or use a black light to confirm it was real, as I am 24 years old and have been legally buying alcohol with this same exact ID for 3 years now. She said no, because "fake IDs have gotten so good now days that they can fake the scanner or black light marks." So I asked "theoretically, I can bring you a fake horizontal ID and you would accept that over my real vertical ID," and she said "yes, I know it doesn't make sense." I don't blame her for doing her job but I blame the company for such an absurd policy. I understand they have the right to refuse service to those who cannot produce adequate evidence of their age but once the waitress say our vertical ID she didn't even look to see our age or if our ID was real. I just don't get it. Definitely lost out on money as a business and potential for a returning customer (not that they really care). read more

Even the manager stopped by to check on us and ask about our experience, which was a nice touch. We enjoyed our time here, BUT the lane quality and the pins being on strings were just bad. Sometimes pins fell when they shouldn't, or stayed up when they should have fallen... Also, there aren't many ball sizes available -- only even-numbered weights. We ordered the sampler platter, which was surprisingly better than expected, but no plates or napkins came with it. Weird... Also, we had to track down our server for almost everything, even though the place wasn't that busy. It would have been nice if they checked in on our orders, drinks, and refills without us having to ask. We came here for the arcade, because our family loves arcades. We ate in the bar area. Server was so lovely. They have mocktails, which I am always excited to see on a menu, and the food was above average for bowling alley food. I was weirdly lucky in the games, and my son and I both ended up with a lot of tickets. He wanted a bunch of little stuff, and I wanted this silly game that was a higher ticket item. We went to check out, and the poor staff person at the checkout said a manager had to come and approve the item because it was over 2000 tickets. Ok, right? The thing that was strange, was the person at the counter looked like a deer in headlights. We waited. People came into line behind us. I offered to back out our transaction and wait for the manager to ring everything up again, because our transaction was holding up the register. And we waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. And at a certain point, we were waiting this out because we were invested. Drey the manager showed up, after, I kid you not, 50 minutes!!! On a busy Saturday evening. Apparently he was on break. My husband had to chase him down to even get an apology, and he put some piddly amount of tickets back on one of the cards (50 LOL what a joke). He even tried to avoid my husband and just sweep it under the rug. I'm leaving this review, and we waited it out (my son and I went to the car while my husband waited) because this is a trash policy. They put the poor employees on the fron line of this nonsense policy, and I could tell by the look on their faces that they've dealt with angry people over this. This was not on the poor front line staff. Drey, I don't know if this is your first job (I'd assume not, being a manager, but your joke of an "apology" after a 50 minute wait screams inexperience), the managent at Lucky Strike needs to revamp this ridiculous policy. This would have been a 5 star review tonight, if the stupid policy for a "big ticket" item of 2000 tickets, and a completely unapologetic manager, hadn't ruined it at the very end. read more

Great place to have a party if you aren't competitive. We didn't know that they weren't real pins and are on strings. The on action is horrible. Pins fall that shouldn't and some stay up that should have fallen. Great for kids but it's not true bowling. Very disappointed that they cut corners and went this direction. Unfortunately we won't be back. We are a competitive crew and this set up it's a fair playing field. We spent $1400 on a birthday party and were bummed to learn that they were on a string pin system.
