The steak was tiny, the shoe-string fries were even tinier, and $50 for a tiny flavorless steak and old fries was pretty wild. Service wasn't great either. Splitsville has a different concept that combines nostalgia with a more upscale twist. If you have a private lane, the service definitely feels a little more personalized. I liked that you simply choose your shoe size and they bring the bowling shoes in a tub directly to your designated lane. It's a small convenience, but nice when you're settled in your lane. I do wish they had more bowling ball options, similar to Lucky Strike, with small/medium and medium/large finger-hole sizes. Having those options would make it easier to find a ball that fits comfortably. One thing to keep in mind is that the lanes can have delays and may occasionally need a reset for the pins. Because of this, you may not get through all three games during a two-hour reservation. I also noticed the pins sometimes slid to the side rather than resetting normally, which was unusual. The white peach sangria was really tasty, and the menu has a good variety of food and drinks, so there are plenty of options if you want to eat while you bowl. Overall, Splitsville offers a different bowling experience with a more restaurant-and-entertainment feel. I want to say we were invited back by manager Jordan and let me just say him and his team were WONDERFUL! There was a very warm and welcoming young lady at the front when we arrived who checked us in. Eder took us to our lane , and Brandon waited on our table. Formerly House of Blues Restaurant and Bar, Disney has done a great job in their desire to reimagine that location... Food: We have had the wagyu steak frites; fish and chips; burgers and cheeseburger sliders (skipped the sushi so far). 5/5 stars. Especially the Wagyu, it is superbly cooked to order ... Service: here's the rub, if you walk-in and sit at the bar, the food, service and drinks are top-notch. However (and this has been consistently mediocre) if you reserve or walk-in and are seated upstairs? Server presence is rudimentary, mixed drinks are off, at times some drink item is missing, or the incorrect liquor was utilized in the mix - yuck! The food remains five-star in all aspects though (sigh). Ambiance: downstairs is airy, "sports-baresque"and attractive. Upstairs, bowling action is bowling action, families and friends appear happy - the dining experience takes a nosedive, however. 5/5 for downstairs; 3/5 for upstairs. Located in Downtown Disney, this is an interesting concept. It's a huuuuge restaurant with many different bowling lanes in separated alcoves, mixed in with separate tables for dining. It's a pretty nice menu with a variety of food choices. For instance, my husband ordered a margherita pizza while I ordered a tuna poke bowl. The poke bowl was pretty to look at and delicious to eat ! The tuna was tossed in a spicy kimchee ponzu served over sushi rice with avocado, mango, seaweed salad, edamame, scallions, sesame seeds and mayo. While on the spicy side, the flavor combination was really tasty. I enjoyed every bite. However, I think it had some preservatives to keep it fresh tasting and beautiful looking because I had a reaction to it... like I get when preservatives are added to food. I was feeling fine before the meal. Then I ate, followed by the reaction, and it seemed to wear off about 2 hours later. I obviously can't prove any of this, but it only happens when there are preservatives being used. Not everyone has a preservative sensitivity either, but I happen to be one of the "lucky" ones. I understand why they're used, but obviously, some are more potent than others, and while I wish I had warning, pretty much, nobody admits to using them. It's a chance I always take when dining out. While this is an upscale bowling alley with quite an eclectic menu, I suppose I should read between the lines and realize that ordering something like sushi might be a bridge too far. We had the opportunity to dine here while visiting Disneyland because we wanted something different from the typical park food. We made an OpenTable reservation for a party of seven and were seated immediately in the upstairs dining area. Our server, Brandon, was friendly and attentive. He greeted us promptly, took our drink orders, and later returned to take our appetizer order. We started with the Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls and the Macho Nachos, both of which were a great way to kick off the meal. The menu offers a wide variety of options, from burgers and sushi to plated entrées like steak and potatoes, so there's something for everyone. Our group decided to try several of the burgers. I ordered the Steakhouse Burger, which was packed with flavor. The horseradish dressing really brought everything together, and I paired it with fries that I requested well-done and extra crispy just the way I like them. We definitely plan to come back to try the sushi and, of course, the steak and potatoes. We've eaten at Splitsville 1x/year for the last 2 years because they've had a summer special for Magic Key holders where you get complimentary bowling for dining in. We loved bowling here, so that's what brought us back. We were seated on the outside patio and although I was initially reluctant to not sit inside with AC, they had fans and live music that made up for it (I do wish they paused the music on the outside speakers so that the performers could be heard a little better because they were great). The food isn't anything to write home about, but it's pretty solid for a bowling alley and our server did an amazing job taking care of us. We ordered the cheeseburger deluxe ($22.75) and chicken tenders - both of which came with crinkle cut fries (which aren't my personal favorite). I was kind of skeptical about ordering sushi from a bowling alley, but the table next to us ordered a poke bowl ($26.75) that definitely caught my eye. We were just three people, so we ended up next to other small groups. Service was super friendly, as you might expect at the happiest place on earth. We didn't have any major issues with the bowling, and the one time the balls got stuck, they added the time back to our reservation and then some. Foodwise, we ordered loaded fries, chicken tenders, and an ahi tuna salad. The food didn't blow us away, but it got the job done. Bathrooms were uncrowded and clean. I noticed a lot of families with kids in there. It's not cheap, of course (don't forget where you are).
