There's a lot I could say here but... I made a reservation at Lucky Strike days in advance because we were excited. Most of us hadn't bowled in years (or ever), and this was supposed to be a farewell outing for a friend. We left wondering, did that really just happen? It took forever to even be acknowledged. We ordered drinks, a pizza, and a sampler. The server suggested a pitcher deal (cool, thanks) only for the soda to come out tasting like straight carbonation with no flavor. Turns out the machine was broken. Fine. We asked for water, somehow that was a problem too. Our sampler? Never came. When we asked about it, the server really said "who did you order that with?" and then told us it wasn't her, while I'm sitting there knowing we ordered it with her. Instead of owning it, she argued. Wild. They "fixed" the soda machine and brought us flat soda. At that point, just take it away. We ordered lemonades instead which took 20 minutes and she (the manager) forgot one, then caught an attitude when we said something. When the sampler finally came, the chicken was literally falling apart and touched the table when they put it down. We ate the germs. The manager kindly told us she removed the pitcher from the bill and added the lemonades. That however, doesn't make up for bad food, worse service, and a completely ruined experience. Having been do the Fenway location prior, I decided to head to Lucky Strike Somerville for a date night. Football season too so we wanted some place cool go watch the game with a fun activity and food--boom, Lucky Strike. Though they had a bowling special since it was a Sunday night of unlimited bowling after 7pm, we opted out as we were tired. Instead, we bought reloadable game cards to play on the machines. They have classic arcade games such as ski-ball, air hockey, and even pinball machines. Then there are some newer ones as well. I really liked the giant connect four and the pink panther game. Unfortunately a few games we played didn't work and I had to run around and find a staff member so they could fix my credits. After playing the games we headed over to the bar to catch some of the game and eat. They had booths all around the bar with QR codes on the table so you can order/pay from your phone and they bring it to you. There were TVs and projectors as well surrounding. Though the staff was nice the food took a long to go be prepared, and the place was empty during the snow storm. We ordered the appetizer sampler which was pretty good, but we didn't care for the chicken. I did like the pretzels and mozzarella sticks. Some other fun stuff they had included pool tables, shuffleboard, and a photo booth you could use by swiping your game card. Plus they have a prize room to redeem your tickets but it was closed.... Sadly it was quiet in there and I think had it been packed it would be more fun and lively. We had a good time bowling here on a cold weekend afternoon. We made a reservation and got set up with a bowling lane when we arrived. As a party of three, we got to play three games total and they all went smoothly. Some cons were that the atmosphere was very loud and flashy from the arcade and the water they served us tasted like dish soap. It was a bit pricey and the vibe seemed more suited towards night out than an afternoon outing. I wish they toned it down during the day. read more

I've been coming to Assembly Row for years for movies, food, and fun with my son, and Lucky Strike has always been one of our go-to spots. Not anymore. Tonight was a total letdown. I had a Groupon I bought months ago, and when I went to redeem it, the staff told me I needed a barcode and that Groupon is a third-party issue. As a paying customer, that's not my problem. I'm here, I paid, and I expect the business to honor what they advertise. I also use Groupon all the time and the person assisting me didn't sound like he knew what he was even taking about. I asked him if I could speak to a manager bc this isn't my first encounter. The manager, a white woman who came over after the staff called her, repeated the same scripted line about "nothing they can do" and actually told me to call Groupon myself while I was literally standing there. I've worked in customer service for over 20 years, and this was hands down one of the worst examples of how not to handle a customer issue. No empathy, no effort, no solution. I asked her if she knew timeline if I called and she just repeated herself like she didn't hear me. After the conversation, I saw her again at the same bar I was going to order from, and she did not make me feel comfortable at all. The whole experience just left a bad taste in my mouth. To make it worse, our dinner wasn't great either. The soda machine was flat and they tried to say they "didn't have bubbles." No one checked on us again after we got our food and we had to get up to the bar to ask for our check. I rarely write 1 star reviews, but this visit was beyond frustrating. Lucky Strike needs to train their team on basic customer care and accountability. I left feeling annoyed and disappointed, and honestly, I don't plan on coming back. Very fun night out bowling with friends and playing arcade games!!! Used a groupon for a group of 6 and it was inexpensive.

This place has a fun and not too overwhelmingly large arcade. There's everything from carnival games (ring toss), to classic video games (angry birds), to a surprising video game-ized board game (connect four), and my favorite- basketball shooting games. They also have air hockey, which was the most popular couple game, and some extremely fun car racing and motorcycle racing games- don't miss those! They're not just standard stationary games- they have a bit of a fun ride- experience, with vibrations when you collide with things, and whatnot. Just taking off a star because sometimes games would malfunction and it took a little while to get them fixed, but it usually resulted in a comped game or so, which was cool. I also wouldn't necessarily recommend the watermelon megarita. We barely finished half- way too cloyingly sweet, and I think they may have run out of Jose Cuervo and were using some other, possibly higher alcohol level, tequila. I'd only recommend the megarita for 2 if you really like sweet boozy drinks and you want to make game playing a little harder coordination-wise. No judgment! The bowling lanes were sleek and modern, and the arcade? Let's just say my kids barely wanted to leave. Tons of games, flashing lights, and nonstop excitement. We grabbed food and drinks in between, and everything came out quick and tasty--bonus points for the friendly staff. I was greet very warmly when I walked in, I think the manager's name was Steve, he was very busy but took time to check in on my table. I was pleased with the food. It was better than expected from a bowling place. The drinks were solid, the ones on the menu were on the sweet side but nothing wrong with staying with an old faithful beverage when it seems like things are catered to the youthful crowd. I'm always a fan of a meat lovers pizza so I was very happy with the butcher block pizza, could've had more bacon but that's just the carnivore in me talking. This review is only for the restaurant portion since we came to eat and watch Thursday Night Football. The service was super slow. We sat down for maybe a good 15 20 mins before a server even came up to us. After that, we had to go to the bar to get any water refills, she pretty much just didn't check in on us after a while even though we were still eating and finishing our drinks. Foodwise, the menu is a bit limited for entrees but the cheeseburger was good. Hard to say much more about a burger. For drinks we got a tower to share. Was a bit disappointed because it was a bit watered down. A group tried to go bowling, but they had no more availabilities on a Thursday night. highly recommend anyone thats trying to bowl to put your name down early. read more

Although I had been here a handful of times, I had the most fun during my most recent visit. We initially came to bowl but found out there was a 3 hour wait when we put our names down at 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. While we waited, we grabbed some food and played at the arcade. Due to diet restrictions, we all got our own items. My friends got Crispy Chicken Skewers and Gluten free Margherita pizza while I got their Cheeseburger with a side of salad. Chicken sounded like they had a great crunch and seemed moist. The pizza had a good sauce and cheese on top of a traditional, crumbly, gluten free dough. I thoroughly enjoyed the burger as it was juicy and flavorful on an almost sweet brioche bun. Salad was incredibly bland and could have used a teaspoon more of dressing. Our favorite games were the classic air hockey, basketball shots, and the chicken/duck crossing. Before we knew it, we missed our text for the bowling reservations by 45 minutes. Overall, we had a blast and would like to come again. Talking to other friends, I heard the bowling isn't worthwhile anyways given they're often broken. read more

I like playing pinball and the machines here have decently low replays so you can play for a long time without spending too much. I wish they had pitchers of beer, but the $8 drafts are fine and glasses get cleared rather quickly. No machines have cup holders and all games have 5 balls so everyone is a winner. read more

Subpar food, okay experience for the dining part. I'd honestly give the restaurant a 3 but the arcade a 4 for context on the rest of this review. Came here with a group of 5 on a Friday evening. There weren't that many people in the bar area so getting a booth was pretty easy. Our waiter was nice, but it seemed like he was very new at the job. He ignored me when the group took our order and I had to raise my hand and ask if I could also get food, and then I requested a salad but got fries with my meal instead. This happened to one other person at our table too, so it seems like he didn't understand us despite having repeated our orders back to us without mentioning the salad twice. The food took quite a while to get out, and when it did, it all came out at once ( appetizers plus entrees ). It was a little strange honestly, but we were hungry so we ate up regardless. The nachos were huge, but the entire structure of it wasn't really conducive to a good eating experience despite looking unique. The guac and non cheese/bean toppings were all stacked at the top, making the ratio really off. Also since it was all stacked, things at the bottom got very soggy very quickly. The sandwich was okay, but left something to be desired for being $14. It was small and the flavor was nice, but the bun and overall texture wasn't amazing. It also wasn't that hot either. The fries were okay, not very plentiful though either. The wings were definitely the best part - well cooked ( juicy and well seasoned ) so we were satisfied with that. The mule that I got as well wasn't great - definitely extremely sour, not much flavor other than that. Overall, I would eat somewhere else before coming here. We tried going to the bowling alley first, but they only had 8 lanes and we had to wait 2 hours to get one so we opted for the arcade experience which was much better than the dinner - they have good assortment of games and 600 points ( $56 ) went a long way. We split it amongst 5 people and had points leftover by 2 hours later so I found it to be quite worth it! There aren't many games with 5 slots open ( pretty much one racing game and skeeball were the only things we could do as a full group ) but we still had tons of fun. In the end, the experience was relatively positive but just because of the games. Definitely come out if you're looking for a fun time, but perhaps not for the dining or drinking experience. read more

I had the best time here, except for our server. We got sat across this group of like college kids and she kept attending to them and leaving us on our own. We decided to order using the QR code and when our food finally arrived after waiting so long they kept giving it to the college kids. That was uncomfortable because we had to keep taking it from them, by the end of the night I just shared it with them. Anytime I asked her for something she act like I was bothering her. Outside of that it was a great experience, it is a little expensive for the bowling but it's worth it. We bowl an hour, the Ambiance is amazing I love how they have the lane set up, you can even Lounge in the middle in this area they set up between the lanes. The one thing I didn't like is that they didn't have any size 9 balls. But I guess that's not that big a deal, it's just my preferred bowling size. I love the lucky strike here in Sommerville. I went on a Saturday at around 4pm and they had a lane for us. They also gave us free hour bowling for the next time we come. I noticed this time that they have a 4 finger bowling ball, which was a shock to me because I have never seen that anywhere. So that was pretty cool to see! I would recommend the lucky strike in Somerville over the one in Fenway because of the free parking. Assembly Row gives customers up to three hours of free parking! I also noticed that the Lucky Strike in Sommerville is a bit less crowded, maybe it is a bit more family friendly. read more

Lucky strike in general is always a fun vibe. I love coming here for bowling, and while you wait you can play the arcade and grab a drink. Somerville, is a bit smaller than the Fenway one. A lot less bowling lanes, and I believe fewer arcade games but some are different. What they do have is shuffle boarding which Fenway does not have. Large entertainment venue with a lot to offer. We went in to solely play one game of bowling for an hour. There were 8 lanes present. The lane were assigned to got stuck and we asked for help and the individual at the counter moved us one lane over. The lanes were dark and hard to see where to bowl and TVs at each assigned lane were blocking path where people needed to walk. My husband had to duck and swerve each time he had to bowl. I suggest going somewhere else if you strictly want to bowl and have an enjoyable experience. I live about half a mile from here and was really hoping this could become a regular spot for me, but I'm sorry to say I probably won't be coming back again. When you walk in, it's really hard to figure out where to go to put your name on the waiting list for a bowling lane (or for pool or shuffle board) but it turned out that the chaotic crowd right in front of the bowling lanes was the line to get on the list. After getting on the list we headed to the bar to wait for the text that our lane was ready, but it never came in the two hours we were there. It makes sense since there's only a few bowling lanes here and it seems like most of them are taken up for private parties/events (which is the only way to make a reservation unfortunately) but it does seem odd that it's impossible to bowl at a place named Lucky Strike... They did have a decent beer list, but I opted for the dirty martini on their cocktail menu which was so bad I actually struggled to get it down. After giving up on bowling we did play some of the arcade games which were fun but over priced, as expected. If you're looking for an arcade for the kids, that might be the only reason I would come to this place. I've been to this Lucky Strike a couple times (pre-covid) but this review is for my New Years Eve experience this year. Ultimately my friends and I had fun together but there were a lot of issues that we needed to overlook and not get upset about in order to do so. We purchased a package to reserve two lanes for two hours from 8-10pm with the plan o just hang around the bar or play games until midnight. When we arrived a few minutes before our reservation we (and a number of other people who also had lanes reserved) had to stand outside waiting (in the rain) until 8 on the dot for them to start letting people in. Not a great start to the evening. Because everyone who had been waiting has reservations to bowl, there was a massive mob of people trying to get bowling shoes all at once. The two people behind the counter were wildly overwhelmed and they either didn't have enough inventory or hadn't organized it beforehand because they tried to give my partner a pair of shoes that were a full size too large. Also a bad look. We get into our lanes to start bowling and order some food and appetizers. Unfortunately most of the beers on tap were flat (or possibly skunked) so after the first round we all switched to bottled. We also had issues with the bowling lane/software malfunctioning a few times. We had wings and nachos and everyone was satisfied with both. I do want to call out great service by the waitress who was responsible for our group. She was super fast, very friendly, and consistently got everyone's drinks right. I'm disappointed in myself that I don't remember her name because she deserves the shout out. After bowling we played some games and hung out by the bar. Most games were functional but there were a handful that were out of order or had broken parts. The bartenders were friendly and fast but similar to the folks working the bowling shoe counter, clearly unprepared for the number of people there. They were regularly out of glasses and were serving things in different glassware (prosecco in a regular wine glass, beer in a tulip cocktail glass) or plastic cups because they either don't have enough inventory or don't have enough dishwashers and bar backs. The final sour note of the evening came at closing time (1am). My group was lingering by the top of the stairs waiting for our last few friends who were in the bathroom or getting their coats. A manager kept walking by and basically yelling at us (and some other folks doing the same) to get out and shooing us towards the door because they were now closed. None of us were playing games, trying to order drinks, or really doing anything but standing and waiting for our friends. It felt very rude to be rushed out the door after spending the evening and a good amount of money at their business. TL;DR: this location seemingly hasn't been updated since it opened so a number of things are beat up, out of order, or glitchy. Food is standard what you'd expect at a gaming venue and tap beers are bad. Particularly for New Years Eve, venue management clearly were not prepared for the number of people who had reservations. I really don't think I'd be back and definitely would never do an event night like NYE here again. read more

Lucky Strike is located a the far edge of the Assembly Square Marketplace just beyond Partners Heathcare from the T station. They checked our IDs, stamped the inside of my left wrist, and up we headed to the second floor to find ourselves in an adult version (by which I mean there were zero kiddies) of Dave & Buster's, with Shuffleboard, and more space and game options than the D&B in Braintree. Their prize area however is much darker and smaller than that of D&B. We got ourselves a game card and ran around playing for a bit, accumulating around 140 prize tickets, and decided against redeeming them for the single piece candies, which is basically all we could afford. read more

We sat down in the lounge area, trying to order food and some drinks, all that was there on the table was a QR code to scan to order online, no wait staff within sight. After trying to finalize everyone in our large group the checkout didn't work. We ended up going to bar where they questioned us if we already placed an order through a waiter but didn't have one come over in the 20 minutes we were there. The bar service at Lucky Strike on Sunday 5/12/24 was really bad. The beers (my group ordered 4-5) were not cold and flat. They tasted old -- when we requested something else for a particularly bad Boston Lager, the server tried to convince us it was just that they had poured the wrong beer. But then, he brought the replacement and it was the exact same thing. I also ordered a sparkling wine, like a Prosecco. It was also very flat. The bartender told me it was because it was warm -- if he knew it was warm, why had he poured it for me in the first place? He then offered me a wine as an alternative that also wasn't very good. If I could give this place a zero I would, the service was TRASH. It took 15 minutes to get served at the bar, then we sat at a table & no one ever came to serve us after another 20 mins of waiting. The dress code isn't actually a thing like it says on the website , people were dressed in sweat pants and hoodies so I don't understand the emphasis on dress code when it's not actually enforced. Seemed like she didnt want to be there- To top it off, there was another waiter by the bar, the bartender handed off the drinks to bring to someone elses table, the waiter DRANK OUT OF THE CUSTOMERS DRINK and then served it to them. I was then playing by the kitchen doors, when a waiter came out with a customers food. The waiter was picking at the customers fries, ate some and then served it to them. This location is huge, and they have a TON of stuff to do, which is the good part. Bowling, shuffleboard, arcade games, multiple bar areas, etc, etc. Unfortunately, we went thinking that we were going to go bowling (the name is Lucky Strike, after all). We were disappointed to see that there were only 5-6 lanes total, and they were all completely booked until the end of the night. They told us that we were welcome to wait, but it would likely be over 3 hours and nothing was guaranteed. We went and grabbed drinks while trying to decide what to do, which was another downfall. Their drinks are VERY overpriced and generally not great. They have all sorts of 'fun' drinks on their menu that are a genuine waste of money. We ended up leaving, just because everything was too expensive. I wouldn't be opposed to coming back, simply because it does seem like there is a ton to do there, but I get the feeling that everything will be expensive just like the drinks we ordered! read more
