I brought a group of 35 here with about two hours notice (our previous plans were disrupted by a transportation issue while we were already on the road) and In the Game made our experience absolutely fantastic. Not only did they have food and drinks ready the moment we walked in, they accommodated our additional needs and even took the time to look up our organization and make signs with our logo to welcome us! They really went the extra mile and everyone in our group had a great time. I am so appreciative and I only regret that we're from out of town so I don't know that many people to recommend it to! I went here for a kids birthday party. They have separate party rooms upstairs. As soon as you walk in there are digital boards that tell you which numbered room your party is in. Though there was no host at the front desk at all which was a bummer. There is a coat rack outside of room with number tags to take. The kids love it especially for the laser tag room down the hall from the rooms. The rooms are small and narrow so if you have a lot of people coming there is room acrosd from the party rooms on same floor for parents to mingle in the lounge like area. The staff for the party rooms are a great help when it comes to setting up, directing and time to eat and cake time etc.... Once you are out that room though it may be hard to contain the kids because there's is a lot to do downstairs w prepaid cards as part of the package you choose. They also have the human claw game. The reason I have it 3 stars was because there was no front desk staff and the amount of tickets you have to get to get a decent prize is ridiculous. The quality of prizes are not that great for your ticket amount and they are not very exciting. It is a great place for ages 7-12. It's like a mock version of something like Dave and Busters. My girlfriend and I went to In the Game in Peabody on a rainy Sunday to try to enjoy our day still and have some fun. This was one of our worst mistakes we made. We were hungry so ordered chicken tenders. Even though they advertise fries with the tenders we didn't get any, they hide that. The tenders were terrible (my fault for ordering food from an arcade I guess). This was just the start. We went to play games a multiple machines took points off our card and proceeded to not work. We were not reimbursed. It also seemed like everytime we saw a game we wanted to play it was out of order. Not to mention how ridiculously priced this place is for what you are given, not being able to play a lot of things was frustrating to say the least. We were disappointed by our visit to In the game. The food was fine. Pretty average American arcade cuisine. The pizza was pizza... the "jumbo wings" were just normal small wings and you only got a couple of them. Not sure what happened with my drink but it was practically boiling. Not sure if the ice machine was broken or what, but I have never had a soda that almost burnt my tongue. As for the arcade.... Countless games were not working. Several times the swipe would go through but the game would not start. I gave up going over to the desk after the third time and accepted that I had been scammed. The ones that worked did not give out the correct amount of tickets. It really should be illegal for the ticket amount awarded to differ from the displayed amount. Slow, they need more people... We went on one of the Dueling Piano Friday nights. It took 10-15 minutes to be seated and a while for our server to show up. Please note that I am NOT criticizing the wait staff at all, as there are over a dozen booths, around 15 tables, and maybe 20 seats at the bar, but there were only two wait staff, one busperson and one bartender for the whole seating area. This is a solid arcade bar with great food, good live music on Friday's, and a small but creative collection of interactive games! Food was great and portions were huge. Really great burgers, crunchy fries, nachos, and tater tots. Their dessert menu only had one item: chocolate chip cookie with scoops of icecream on top. My food came and I was 100% done eating it before my husbands food arrived. Then both servers disappeared for at least 20 minutes. This is definitely more for kids, liked a suped up Chuck E. Cheese's. There weren't many games that I saw here that I wouldn't see at other arcades I frequent. We did enjoy the laser tag which was lame because we booked a game for 3 and they split our team. My team won because I had a group of teenagers with me and my friend had what he called "little munchkins." The saving grace would have to be the food right? Yes and no. Dueling pianos this evening were awesome. So much fun! The food was really good. The portions were good. Drinks could be a little stronger. Food is bar food but it's done nicely. I just want to say yes I am a 45-year-old child I'd like playing games that the tickets were being added to my card hit the bonus seven times each time for over 540 tickets on the ticket circus game went to check my card only had 117 tickets explain the problem they got the manager manager comes out with a piece of paper showing how many times I swiped it which was also wrong because I played much more than that showed he says all the computers not wrong. Went there with my father, little brother and little sister and it wasnt all that great. $74 dollars wasted for nothing, they gave us I beiieve only 90 points and most of the games use those points up quickly. We took my son here for the first time for his birthday. They are pretty good at keeping up with cleaning things down. They wiped our bowling balls before we started to play. It was good but the arcade games go by fast, well only few games even with a good amount of money in the cards. The kids got to go home with some small stuff they won from the games. They should make a section for optional purchasing cause I would have boughten a few things if it wasn't just for prizes. The store has a lot of things parents would purchase for their kids. I was impressed! Walked in, put $10 on a card. It literally lasted me an hour to play games since they're all reasonably priced. The games are mostly all fun old school arcade games. The ropes course looks super cool, although I didn't have time to try it out today. I will definitely plan to do it next! We had some apps to share and everything was excellent. Apparently they don't like vertical drivers licenses. They have no other way to verify licenses and will not work with you at all, if it's vertical they assume that it's 100% fake, and no they don't have a scanner either. We had a group of 6 and we were waiting on 3 more so we decided to sit at the bar while we waited. We're all between the ages of 24-25, and we start to order drinks, we all obviously pull out or IDs, the 2nd person in our group hands his over and the bartender looks at it closely and then decides to hand it over to her manager, who is just sitting there with their hands crossed almost bird dogging her employee. She hands it's over and asks the manager if she would accept it, the manager looks at his ID for about 2-3 minutes straight looking at each and every detail and then says no I won't serve this one person because it's vertical and no other reason. Then we were told that we weren't worth getting a fine and going to jail over, there's an influx of fakes and kids out in the summer trying to sneak alcohol. Okay, I can understand that, if you're aware of that being an issue, why wouldn't you have a scanner? Or if you're worried about it why wouldn't you have a Peabody police officer present since that's a known issue to you? Again these are just a couple suggestions I can think of, if there's an obvious problem going on then you should have something to counter offense it. A drivers license is good for 5 years, you can get your first one when you're 16 and a half, and most people will renew their license before they turn 21, reason being that they want to enjoy a drink on their 21st birthday and not be stuck with a paper license which nobody in their right mind would accept. But anyways, most people will renew their license before they're 21, and that's what one of the people in our group did, to the best of my understanding his license will be valid anywhere he goes for 5 years on his birthday, so when he's either 25 or 26, I'm not entirely sure which of those years he falls under but at that point he will need to renew it and be given a horizontal drivers license. But yeah this place genuinely made me so mad about denying our friend I wanted to leave a review, we had 2 different people look at it and say no. These 2 people will tell you they don't want to take a fine or go to jail for serving a minor, okay, and you shouldn't. But to tell us just because it's vertical license and he's had a few years to update it. In Massachusetts you can renew your license up to one year before it expires, but even trying to reason with these people and tell them how it works, and why he has a different license didn't work, and this place didn't seem worth fighting over, nor did it deserve our business so all 6 of us just left when it was obvious they don't accept reasoning. We went to Dave & Buster's instead and our group was fully intact and 9 of us there, they were suspicious of his vertical license over there as well, but you know what? They had other means of verifying his license!! Crazy huh? And it was great, they took a few minutes, scanned it, did whatever the hell they needed to do, and accepted the validity of it. That's what any other establishment with a liquor license should do -- their proper due diligence. And guess what? Because they weren't stubborn or hard nosed like "In The Game" and actually had common sense and means to verify things, we spent probably about $600-$700 collectively. I'm actually extremely pleased that $0 went to "In The Game" they obviously don't want people's business, they don't deserve it, and none of us will ever return there again. The bar staff and manager was even staring us down from the window after our entire group walked out on them not spending a dime. Have fun in there!! read more

Came on a Saturday night with our kids had to wait a half hour to be seated for dinner which was fine but then waited about a half hour if not longer for our food to come out when there were hardly any people in the circular dinning area, my pizza was cold the grilled chicken on our salad was cold and then when we proceeded to come out of the restaurant to the gaming area to do laser tag VR rock climbing etc that we paid $130 sum for prior to be told half the stuff was shut down due to lack of staff etc. I would not have bought $130 worth of "activities" for us to do if we were going to be told we could not use them ! Kids working the stations were very nice and it's not their fault but place should be run a lot better and if your not allowed to use the "activity" stations after a certain time that needs to be posted listed said etc to a patron buying this. So in all when you go somewhere and spend just under $300 you should NOT be leaving dissatisfied and your kids should not be leaving unempressed either! Will boast this to all I know. read more

This is a brand new, absolutely fabulous gaming heaven! Unlike Dave and busters that focuses on adults, this is focused on kids of all ages. They have it all! Laser tag, rock climbing, rope course, bowling, arcade games, a restaurant, and a bar! The staff is very helpful, friendly, and professional. It is sparkling clean, and smells great! Ha! (You wouldn't even know there are a ton of kids inside!) Birthday parties are amazing there. We had our child's very large party there, and the parents were so impressed, we've already attended 2 additional parties there! I would recommend it a 100%! I'm so glad they took down the old bonkers - which was past it's expiration date. The whole plaza is now being revamped with cool stores and such a family friendly feel! In the Game is my new favorite bar to hang at in Peabody. The food is great, my favorite is the steak , hamburgers and love the huge plate of nachos. After dinner we go and bowl a few rounds which is fun to with family and friends. Also, the managers, bartenders and staff always make you feel welcome. My family had a negative experience here. They advertised a lower price on their website, then charged a higher price in person. They wouldn't honor the lower price, simply stating their prices changed. Additionally, certain attractions weren't included in their pass, as advertised on their website. Ok so, this place is really cool and state of the art and has a great restaurant with friendly restaurant staff, I've been here twice now and both times I have noticed that the staff running the rockwall, vr and ropes course don't really know how to talk to or handle young children. Some of the behaviours are not so outright bad or inappropriate but they can be trained a little better, example: one of my kids lost his way in the vr game and instead of gently moving him around by his shoulders he grabbed him by the vr set and twisted him around, again not so bad but a little more gentleness would be good. Verbal example, we were on the ropes course, the employee told him to stop crying and to take it down, he's not even 5 yet, I think it must be because all of the staff are teenagers and are not use to dealing with young children. read more
