Sunday football review: Place has a weird smell, but that's kind of expected given the typical scene. Their local brews are solid, nothing spectacular. The pretzel was good, nice and hot but not too dry. The cheese was stadium nacho cheese so that's a bit unfortunate. The wings are solid, I got the jerk and Cajun dry rubs and preferred the Cajun. Fries were crispy and actually one of our favorite parts.

The nachos and curds were pretty good. Went over st pattys day and it was bumping. In an apt building.

Stopped in to watch some football. Great service, great viewing experience and great beer specials! Will definitely be back.

This place is amazing and has quick service. Atmosphere is vibrant. Definitely worth checking out!

Best game day bar in town. Buffalo cauliflower is incredible. Solid Cuban sandwich. Great brews!

50 cent wings are usually not that good if you know what I mean. Not here. Wings were great. Nice and meaty with a good buffalo sauce.

The real excitement of this place is found in the upstairs and downstairs bar areas. The downstairs area is known as the Rathskeller which is like an old dank cellar, great for parties. The craft beers they make here are decent, but on the little on the tame side, although I would recommend their I-5 draught IPA. The wine and dessert menus are very limited, but I noticed that they do sell a cannabis infused seltzer. They do keep things interesting menu-wise with monthly specials and featured Dane deal specials. The food overall is on the 3 to 4 star level which is fine as long as you're expectations aren't too high. Everything's handled on the handheld device, including the final payment and tip. They have the right formula working for them, the food and prices are fair, the beer is decent and the service was attentive. 10 photos for more insight, including the menus and bill.

We sat at the bar and ordered a few beers and some food, the girls behind the bar were great.. attentive, helpful and friendly. I ordered a Rueben sandwich and some nachos for my girlfriend. The food arrived in a timely manner but the nachos had sat under the salamander (or in the oven) too long; to the point that the cheese was crispy and not melty. The sandwich was ok, the corned beef was tough and big pieces would pull out of the sandwich when I tried to take a bite. Some beers were good and some were not, the highlight of our visit was the service at the bar.

The positives: The pretzel with cheese was good, hot fresh and a tasty warm cheese and onion dip. I highly recommend this if you're just in for a beer with a friend. The chicken schnitzel was well breaded and fried. The spaetzle was decent, and buttery. The glazed red cabbage was sweet and seasoned sensibly. The beer list was respectable. Nobody at my table ordered the sausages, but I thought it was good that they were locally made. The atmosphere was classic, with a few American twists such as high top tables and televisions with sports. The negatives: no air conditioning, so a bit uncomfortable for summer dining. The Sauerbraten was kind of dry. I was surprised it was not served with gravy, because that's traditional, and because it would have masked some of its dryness. They hid the red cabbage under the meat, not sure why, it's not like you eat them together like shepherd's pie. My daughter ordered eintopf, described as a "hearty stew". It was not a hearty stew. It was a brothy soup, very over- seasoned with massive amounts of celery seed. There were three cherry-tomato sized dumplings that were also overseasoned, in the same manner, or had been marinated in the soup. There was about a quarter cup of diced onion and carrot in the broth. The whole thing was absolutely indelible. My daughter had also ordered potato pancakes, but we were not served potato pancakes, but instead a single greasy order of undercooked hash browns. I would have sent them both back, but our waitress only returned to give us the check, and by that time my wife and I had fed our daughter by sharing with her the items we'd ordered for ourselves. Though the broth and hash browns were barely touched the waitress did not ask how we'd liked our dinners. She was new, I could tell, because when ordering, I'd asked her for her opinion about the sauerbraten, and she said she didn't know because she was a vegetarian. Nothing wrong with being a vegetarian, but you can still learn about the meat dishes that you're serving in a...German restaurant. I think this establishment is new, and they're still working out the kinks. Maybe I'd return in a year or two to see how things have shaped up. Also, they did not bring bread to the table. Usually German restaurants bring hearty dark bread or rolls with butter. Two beers, one soft drink, one app, and dinner for three, $115 with tip.

We had some old fashioneds before ordering food, and I thought they were good. Service was super attentive, especially as we delayed ordering to enjoy drinks and an appetizer for a bit. I ordered the beer battered cod fish fry (my staple), and overall it was yummy to eat. The two pieces that came out were enormous and a bit wonky shaped... made me wonder what on earth this fish looked like in its swimming days. The batter was quite tasty, crunchy but not too crunchy/hard, but it was so incredibly think I'm not sure I got fish in every bite. I took one piece home and give the fish part to my pup as a meal topper, and the ratio of breading I had to pull off compared to fish was a bit (quite a bit) much. Still, everything I ate was tasty. I got the salad with my dinner, and was so happy that it came out with quality greens instead of a chunk of iceberg type lettuce. Overall, I'd come back again if others wanted, but wasn't wild about the batter to fish ratio.

Their menu had a decent variety for food and drinks; easy to find something for everyone! We started with this Classic Old Fashioned as it's one of their staples. It had kore of a fizzy taste and not your typical variation of the drink. It was more refreshing for a summer day but I enjoy the classic styling more. For food, we started with the Cheese Curds that were seen on Food Network. I liked the flavor of cheese but wish they were a bit crispier. For entree, we shared the Old Fashioned Burger. The kitchen was kind to split the entree for us onto two separate plates. The burger was thicker than I expected as well as more well done. As far as service, staff was hustling. There were pockets of time we waited for water refills and there was quite a long wait between the curds and burger. Our server was extremely kind and bubbly through the lunchtime chaos which is always appreciated.
