Stopped in for a mani pedi and it was such a relaxing time! I came in on a Monday around 11am and it wasnt very busy when I first arrived but by the time I finished, there were a lot more customers. I understand why because these ladies truly provide great service. SO disappointed and will not be returning. I made an appointment for 11:15, did not get helped until 11:40. I had gel on my toes and whoever did my toes did not take off gel the correct way-instead she tried peeling the gel off herself and took off HALF my toenail with it. Come to find out I got charged for her to glue my nail back down!!! I got a basic pedicure for $35 and ended up paying $65. She said I got charged more because she had to fix my toes that SHE messed up to begin with. I am so upset about this, I really hope you guys don't do this to the next guest. It was my birthday too. Literally the worst manicure of my life! The nail tech painted the polish on so thickly it dripped off the edges of the nail and was still wet after 30 minutes of drying (I use Essie couture which is usually 100% dry after 15 minutes). I ended up taking all the polish off in the salon as my nails looked better bare than with that unprofessional polish job. I asked him to only trim the hangnails, I barely needed filing since my nails are short AND I brought my own polish so this was not a lot of work for the nail tech. When I asked for my money back, they refused. Not even a partial refund. Shameful. read more

The ladies are nice and sweet but the lady that did my dip powder should not be allowed to use a drill. She cut me four times and my nailbeds hurt which means she went to deep when she drilled out my cuticle line and she cut off all of my cuticles so when they grow back it's going to hurt and peel, she also tried to cut off the side of my nail, like hello! That is my nail!!! I stopped her so now I am only going to have one hangnail instead of ten when they grow back AND after she cut me she didn't sterilize her drill or anything, she just put the sanding band back and then used it on her next client. I'm sorry, but my blood was on that sanding band and that is how you can easily transfer disease. read more

The first time I was in here was great- truly. It's in a convenient location, with convenient parking, and the leg massage is super nice. But. I'm done. Won't be back. As other reviewers have said, it is SO EASY to get manipulated into paying twice what you want. The last time I was there I ended up paying $30 more than I wanted to and I was devastated. I've been to this salon numerous times, and I like the fact that it's small, clean, and close to my house. And I would say the mani/pedi quality has been on par with other shops in the area. BUT, my young daughter and I went here before our annual Thanksgiving beach trip for mani/pedis. We got regular manicures on our hands, and gel pedicures. I paid $186 (including tip), and I was soooo disappointed in the quality. Within 24 hours, my daughter's gel polish was coming off her toes, and mine followed a few days later. . Her nail polish was peeling within a day, as well, but she's super active, so this isn't a surprise. My nail polish stayed on for several days, but my nails were really sore from the see-saw filing. Needless to say, this was an expensive experience with very poor quality. We won't be going back. read more

I've been going to this salon for years but left there today feeling very frustrated. I had Lucy do my manicure. I had gotten a dip powder manicure at the beginning of the month but it had grown out and one of the nails had actually broke off. If you aren't familiar with the dip powder technique, I highly suggest you get it immediately. It's very similar to acrylics but they come off so easily without all the damage to your nails. So I got there and I signed in and Lucy immediately runs over and starts helping me. Throughout my manicure she kept trying to convince me to get a pedicure as well. She actually did a really good job with everything except for the color of my nails. I picked out a pink color and at the time she told me she was "finished", I could still see the whites and pinks of my natural nail. One of the other girls came by and actually told me how beautiful my natural nails were as if there wasn't any product at all. I guess the product just isn't very pigmented but Lucy got really mad when I asked her to put more coats on. Finally I convinced her to put a coat of nail polish on and she was laughing at me like I was crazy. It still wasn't great but I had to go to work in less than an hour. And by the way, Lucy charged me for TWO MANICURES because I asked for a little more pigmentation. My nails don't look awful, but they aren't what I wanted and I really didn't like how rude Lucy was. If you do come here, please try to get your nails done by the younger woman there. She speaks the best English out of all of them and she pays really good attention to details. read more

This is a terrible place. I've come here a couple times for convince and every time I regret it. This last time I officially will never be returning. I spent $60 for a pedi/mani that I was tricked into. This place seems nice. You walk in and it's beautiful but immediately the women are all over you and through out the appointment they start bringing you things.. whether it's different brands of nail polish or little booklets of what they can do for you and pricing sheets. This is how they play you. Anything that is typically included in a normal mani/pedi they add on for a price and try to trick you by pretending they can't speak good English. (Checking out you'll learn they speak it just fine.) I picked the "lavender scrub" and for them to remove my calluses. They kept bringing me things and to be honest their English was just getting worse. Eventually I had no clue what was going on. By the end they tricked me into the most expensive nail polish and charged me for the callus removal when they didn't even do it. But fighting them was an entirely different story. You simply don't fight with them. They go nuts. When everything was said and done I was looking at my nails and I noticed I had an air bubble under the polish that I wanted removed. They tried to convince me it was the lighting. Absolutely ridiculous. For the amount I paid the mani/pedi it did not even look that great. I will not be returning here. One big scam to pay their rent. read more

I had a pedicure by "Nancy". She cut me twice while doing my cuticles. I had to apply antibiotic ointment to both spots for days because I was afraid of getting an infection since the place didn't look as clean as other places I've been to. The chair was uncomfortable and I was not initially told that I could adjust it until I mentioned that I was very uncomfortable. It was not a hospitable place. I have no plans to return to Clayton any time soon, but if I do, I will definitely NOT go back to Lucy Lee's. read more

Lucy Lee is own and ran by a really sweet women, her mom and a few others. The location is very convenient and parking never seems to be an issue. I believe they also have packing out back. However, I have three comments and will likely take my business else where. 1. Attention to detail. My polish ways hits my cuticles-- they rushed services shows in the end result. 2. Lack of schedule organization. Even after making appointments, you're still starting late and you're there for hours at a time. 3. Pricing. There are more competitive mani and pedis out there, that do a better job at #1 and #2. If in a bind, it's not a bad place to go. They're very sweet and accommodating. But when it comes to end results, the time and money you put into it-- you can go somewhere else for a better deal. read more

My most recent visit was the second time patronizing this establishment. I will start with the positive attributes about the place; it is very clean (the main reason I initially tried it), it is convenient to schedule appointments online, they are taking stringent COVID 19 precautions & the location is convenient for me. My most recent visit facilitated my decision to not return. I had one person doing my pedicure and another doing my nails at the same time. As I sat in a message chair with a pillow on my lap that they balanced a bowl of water on top which was used to soak the dip powder from my nails. I had one person moving my leg/foot one direction and another person moving my arm/hand in an opposite direction. Needless to say this took away from relaxation aspect of the service, in particularly since I paid extra for a longer massage. The end result was less than stellar considering Lucy Lee's price point. The woman who did my nails, Linda (name on her smock) did a terrible job on my nails. The shape & length of my nails are not uniform, Linda actually filed one my nails so incredibly low that I had to tell her to stop and pointed out the length difference from the rest of my nails. My manicure really was just a polish change, so that was disappointing. No massage (she slapped a drop of lotion on each hand and rubbed in one swoop up the arms) and she only spent about 5 seconds total on my cuticles (and I know my cuticles are not that perfect). Kace got a mani, too, and had the exact same experience. I am giving three stars because I have yet to try a pedi, and the girls who were getting them did look pretty comfy and happy. I got a gel manicure five days ago and I am really unimpressed with the quality. Right off the bat, two of my nails had flecks of something and bubbles in them. None of my nails had polish completely cover the nail. They looked grown out as soon as she was finished. It is now five days later and one of my nails is already beginning to chip. They look very grown out and poor quality. I was willing to overlook the bubbles and slight imperfections if the manicure lasted well, but it didn't. Such a shame. The staff was friendly enough and the salon was beautifully decorated. I will not be back. There are so many other salons in the area to try. read more

For years, I've been going to the usual -- and most well-known -- nail salon in town. The mani/pedi was reasonably priced; the wear was OK; but the service was terrible. Every time I left I wondered to myself why I bothered week after week. And then I found Lucy Lee, located across from the Ritz Carlton. This smallish nail salon offers exceptional service -- after only 2 visits, everyone knew my name -- and the best mani/pedi money can buy. As a regular now, I'm greeted warmly every Saturday morning. At first, I was concerned that the cost of the basic mani/pedi would increase based on the salon's location. What I found, however, is that Lucy Lee is identical to that of the "other place." So I was able to upgrade my experience without experiencing the price increase. This salon offers "extra" products that actually work. Case in point is Daby, a wonderful top coat that the client buys ($18) and applies several hours after the mani has dried. In addition to allowing my mani to last 7 full days, I haven't broken or split a nail since late July. Worth every penny ... which of course makes the manicure much more valuable because it LASTS! If you're familiar with other nail salons, then you've experienced the 3-day manicure, which has driven so many of us away from color. If nothing else, buy the Daby and go bold with your favorite red once again. It will be there all week long. Lucy Lee offers a premium service that is currently available only at this salon ... the gel manicure. No, these aren't the "gel" nails of years past. This is a high-tec gel lacquer from OPI (available in classic OPI colors) that lasts for a full 2 weeks. There is NO roughing of the nail, and the color comes off when you soak in nail polish remover. No harm, no foul to your nails! And you look professional and put together at all times. (I recently saw the gel manicure referenced in InStyle magazine. Totally lives up the the hype.) Lucy Lee offers, of course, facials, spa pedicures, and waxing services. I'm so impressed by Lucy Lee that I have become an unabashed "regular". Seriously, I show up semi-religiously just about every other weekend for a gel manicure (a manicure that really does last 2 whole weeks!) and sometimes also indulge in their amazing pedicures. Lucy, the salon's namesake and owner, was the one to turn me on to the gel manicure about a year and a half ago, and while it is pricier than the regular manicure, it really does last twice as long. In my opinion, those extra dollars are worth the luxury of only needing to make time for a manicure every other week. Although, I really wouldn't mind being in the salon more often. The place has a much more lush feeling than any other nail salon that offers its services at similar prices. It IS right across from the Ritz-Carlton after all...plus, the employees are all very friendly and helpful in addition to having mad skills in beautifying my fingers and toes. On occasion, I've also had them wax my eyebrows, and they have done a fabulous job each time. Honestly, you should try it...but beware, you will most likely become addicted like me. Don't waste your time here. The workers are ok here but the owner Lucy is rude and abrasive. They lie to you about how long it'll take so you don't walk out of the salon. Then once they have you on the chair they are rude and most likely talking about you. Not sure why people keep going to this place for service even seeing how rude some of the workers of owner Lucy can be. The last time I went there Lucy did my nails and because she was focusing on new people coming in she hardly took any time on me. She rushed on my nails, she made my cuticles bleed, and when I asked her that I like my nails certain way and not how she have it she tore the tip of my nails by aggressively taking the acrylics off. My nails was terribly done, different sizes, corners not colored, cuticles cut and few of my fingers cuticles were bleeding, and she didn't even bother to apply enough coat to even the color or fix my nails. She has no business in serving people with that horrible attitude and manners. Good thing there are lots of better options in the area. read more

I give it 4 stars because recently there has been an addition to the staff who I feel is detrimental to the overall environment of the salon. I unfortunately did not have the chance to catch her name because I ran out of there as fast as I could once she finished. She spent 1.5 hours on a basic mani pedi and I left with my big toe throbbing. While I recommend this salon to absolutely anyone, I suggest making an appt with either Lucy, Yoyo, or Yada. Sweet ladies but bad experience. I asked for gel and they put on a gel color that had expired. It did not look good, so they tried to put on another color adding another coat to cover up their mistake. It made it look worse. I then asked for them to redo my nails but only do a regular manicure as I was late for a movie I had planned on going to. After they gave me a fast mediocre mani, they made me pay for it when with that service, I should have gotten the mani for free. Furthermore, they made my friend and I pay a tip much too high for their doings. My friend's gels turned out okay the day they were done, yet started falling apart less than 24 hours after being done. I do not recommend this place. I've gone here quite a few times and I suggest it to friends that are looking for a reasonably-priced mani/pedi or gel mani/pedi. I find the establishment to be clean and the employees to be (mostly) nice and friendly. The women that have actually done my mani/pedis in the past have all been incredibly kind but there are one or two women that walk around and speak a bit harshly with each other and on the phone...I don't know what that's all about. But nobody's ever been rude to me so I count it as all good. They have a good color selection and it's pretty easy to get an appointment. I once made an appointment months and months in advance (for my wedding) and there were no issues with it. At other nail salons, I've had many appointments get "lost" if I make them more than a week out. They have a pretty straight-forward website and you can decide on what level of service you want (and how much you'll pay) before you go. I recommend this plays. read more

My 87 year old mother loves going there because they treat her like a queen. The fuss over her and make sure she is comfortable. When I go in without my mother, the courteous staff will always ask about her and send her "hello-s". I have also given parties there. Everyone loved the service!!! Modern design. Service: I got a typical french gel manicure and was greeted by friendly staff. I particularly asked for the manicurist to make sure she wouldn't get too close to the cuticle, and so far I have a little peeling that is acceptable and nothing as my friend who by day 2 already was vigorously peeling off. Michelle took great care of me! They were busy even for a Saturday, but they were well-staffed and everyone was taking care of the clients very well! Michelle knew I was in a hurry to get to a wedding (we were in town for a wedding from Indy!) and she worked quickly but skillfully on my fill, repair, and gel manicure! She still had time for a little chat while she worked...she's very personable. I took my 5 year old with me, to get her nails polished at the same time, and another gal did her nails while Michelle worked expertly on mine.
