I know the difference between an affective treatment and a not so great job. Stephanie gives the same quality treatments with great results. She actually cares about your skin more than selling you the spa's skin care products. I first started with a different staff member who became angry a few times when I didn't want to purchase their products. Stephanie deserves five stars! Cons: The receptionist was new and wasn't prompt with service but I was patient. The blanket on the bed was a bit shabby and I think I'd prefer something more sterile and removable after ever use. Megan put a double paper sheet on the bed (like when you're at the doctors officer), but I am a sweater. And no, not winter wear. When nervous and in pain, I sweat profusely. Before I write this review on the waxing service I received, I feel I need to admit some things upfront. First, I did read the reviews before I decided to go back and I chose to take the reviews under advisement to manage my expectations, because I wanted to us my last Groupon (I purchased a 3-pack) and I had positive past experiences. Lastly, Ms. Ruby is a very sweet girl who revealed she had only been doing this for a few months, and I just didn't have the heart to raise a stink about the end results in front of her co-worker. I also don't want her to be discouraged from learning and perfecting her craft, but I won't be back. It's just too painful a process to pay to be someone test dummy. I feel I have a responsibility to other consumers to give fair warning of what you should expect if you choose to patronize this business for waxing services (that's the only perspective I can speak from). So here it goes: Most painful experience EVER, not because it was the first time in a long time but because of the methods used. She used the same type of wax for the entire process which required going over the same area more than once or twice. She wore rubber gloves that may have been too big for her hands because they also stuck to the wax in my very sensitive areas and needed to be pulled from unwaxed areas (twice the pain). The process was slow and painful. To Ruby's credit, she is very engaging and kept me talking but, I was definitely praying for it to end soon. When it was all done and I was cleaning up the wax, there were spots that I still had to cut strands of hair from and there was no smooth feel. Some areas felt shaved instead of waxed, so I know the hair was not fully removed, and I will have to worry about ingrown hairs and bumps. Ruby, if you're reading this, you need more practice, honey. You're a sweet girl who would have no problem retaining customers if you were also excellent at this, and I believe you have great potential. To potential clients, proceed with caution... When i arrived the door into their suite was locked and me and another lady spent a couple of minutes standing outside knocking for a couple of minutes before someone came to open the door. Should have taken that as a sign from God . The waiting area was pretty small but nice. Then we go to the back where they was you... the room was pretty congested. The esthetician come in tells me to take off everything from the waist down and cover up with this(handing me a face towel...lol) i can't make this stuff up. So she comes back in... starts waxing me and has me holding my own skin.... i have never! Lol yea and I'm pretty sure she took some of my skin off down there. Lesson learned. Never again. Nice people but they need to upgrade their facility and train their people a little more. read more

I don't know where all the good reviews are coming from. Not even sure where to start. This place is shifty as hell! It starts with the building and the door to their practice which wasn't clearly marked. After finding the correct door, I stood in the waiting room for a solid 10 minutes in front of a closed window with no receptionist. That explained why it was SO damn hard to make an appointment in the first place. Meanwhile a lady came in behind me who had also bought a Groupon and we both agreed that we didn't feel comfortable here and, given the choice, would already not buy a groupon again. I filled out the patient info on copies so terrible I could hardly read some of it. It made them look very unprofessional. The treatment went ok but the guy doing it talked to me for way too long about his family beforehand to which I only politely nodded, afraid that anything I said would unnecessarily prolong the visit. I decided to suck it all up. After all I paid good money for it. The second visit was quicker. A lady nsmed Carla treated me and she was alright. Then, a day before my third appointment, they called me to cancel saying their machine blew a fuse. They took my number and promised to call back but it's been over 3 weeks. I never attempted to call because they rarely pick up and I was expecting them to be more professional about rescheduling their customers in the first place. I bought a Groupon for laser hair removal. The reviews on Groupon are much more positive. I desperately wish I had checked here first. There is no other way to put it... they RUINED my eyebrows. I used to have very full, nicely shaped eyebrows. I did not want to change the shape, I simply wanted to get rid of the hairs that I typically plucked to create that shape. Greg told me that it was totally safe, that the shape would be maintained, and the remaining brows would not be thinned. After the first session, I did not notice much difference. I then went in for a second session. It felt like my skin was burning when he used the laser. I told him this afterward and he reassured me that he had used the same settings. However, when I went home, I found I had a burn in my eyebrow, which ended up scabbing over. There is no longer hair growing in that spot. After the second treatment, my eyebrows are now uneven, much smaller, and more sparse. I fear that I will now have to pencil in my eyebrows on a daily basis. I'm waiting to see if some of it might grow back in. I have attached pictures to show the difference. I am not wearing makeup in either picture. Also, when I was leaving the second treatment, there was a woman who had huge bruises on her face from some sort of injection gone wrong, so I know I am not alone in being harmed by their treatments. I have tried contacting them several times for reimbursement of my remaining money since I will NEVER go back to them again for any treatment. I have not yet been reimbursed. This place is a nightmare. I wish I could leave less stars than the one start I was forced to give. Went in with a friend for Brazilian waxes with a friend. First, when you call to set up an appointment, they don't answer or call you back to confirm. They just wrote it down and expect you to show up at that time with no return call, and will try to charge you the cancel if you don't show up at that time because no one called you back to confirm! Frustrating to say the least. Upon arriving, the staff was actually pretty rude and depressed looking, no eye contact as they shove the clipboard your way. The waiting room was small but nice enough. The actual room they take you to is cramped, no music or lighting, just an open window they expect you to strip down in front of? Uhmm WHAT?! But I'm not shy, so here I am spread eagle when Stephanie, my waxer, comes in making the regular awkward small talk. WORST BRAZILIAN YOU WILL EVER RECEIVE. I shouldn't even call it a Brazilian, because if you Google a Brazilian, or have ever had one, you'd expect 90-100% baldness. No one is perfect, but Stephanie while very nice, should NOT be employed. I sat there as she waxed areas two to four times (ouch?) and left looking like a teenage werewolf. If I have to shave immediately after a wax, you're doing it wrong. If you can't do the job with soft wax (I personally have very fine blond hair, and don't think hard wax was absolutely a necessity for my hair type) then switch over to waxing the same areas with hard wax, and still leave 65% of the hair, I just don't know what to tell you, except that you should look into another field of work. She was friendly and got the job done, and did her best to get all stray hairs and went back with tweezers to get stubborn pokey hairs left over. She was gentle and chatted with me throughout my treatment, which I appreciate because it makes the experience a little less painful and awkward. The spa is located in a 70s/80s eyesore of a big brown building which is actually very easy to miss on the road. The parking lot is located in the back and is situated on a hill so it can make for some awkward parking. There is plenty of parking though once you find the place. Never again! I've been getting extended bikini waxes for years and finally bit the bullet and signed up for a full Brazilian with a Groupon. The Groupon clearly says they use a hard wax for Brazilians which is what I've always had and wanted to continue because I know it works well. Didn't even ask because it was so clearly stated. Well, probably should have because I realized as soon as she pulled the first strip it was instead soft wax. Instantly asked and she assured me she prefers it and it works better so I let her continue. Terrible mistake! When I got home and inspected further I had over a dozen hairs that she missed all along bikini line and other areas. She took zero time to go back and pluck anything. This was my first visit back to Clayton Med Spa in a couple years to treat myself after having a baby. It's good that I had been here before because I remembered it being really difficult to find. It's in a building with multiple businesses on the upstairs level through a non-descript door. This is the only reason I give them less than five stars because of the location. Also with it being on Brentwood Blvd you have to block out the sound of cars driving by when you're in the treatment room. I am so exhausted with a new baby that this isn't a problem for me. The staff here is very welcoming and friendly. They offer groupons and online coupons to try out their services at a discounted price. DO NOT buy any services from Clayton Med Spa! I bought three IPL photofacials via Groupon back on Mar 6, 2019 and was able to use 2 out of 3. Every time I try to book my third appointment, it gets cancelled on the same date or the day before due to some "leaking, calibration, broken machine, etc". So far I got three(!) cancellations on June 13, Aug 20, and Oct 8 and it looks like fraud scheme selling 3 services and doing just two. I reported the Clayton Med Spa to the Groupon and the Groupon kindly refunded me for the third unused visit, but that was not their fault. Just had my first HORRIBLE Brazilian wax and it was an absolute awful experience! The lady doing the wax just kept ripping away when I was clearly in a ton of pain even to the point I was tearing up. Then when she was finished and I was getting dressed I noticed lots of stray hairs she missed, I also noticed a huge area of long hairs she missed so the receptionist was trying to tell me that was normal since it was my first wax, I disagreed, then he couldn't find the lady who did my wax so another lady offered to help and got the area she missed (this lady was much friendlier and instructing me to take breaths at certain points which the lady who did my wax did not do, she just kept ripping away). I would give CLAYTON MED SPA ZERO stars if it were possible. I know this is long but FOR YOUR OWN SAKE and SAFTY PLEASE READ ALL!!!! While I had been a client of theirs for more than 4 years, receiving microderms and facials performed by various estititions whom with the majority of I was pleased. ( A few times I was disappointed but attributed that to the specific estitition, whom I'd not seen before.) The last time I had a facial I spoke with the estitition about what could be done to reduce my large pores. She suggested microneedling. It was explained to me that it would be virtually painless, (I would feel something similar to tickling or itching), down time would be a couple of days and I should only look as though I had a sunburn. I bought a package and scheduled my first. The day I arrived GREG "THE SPA DIRECTOR" told me he would be doing the procedure. HE NEVER DID ANY DRAPING, CLEANSING OF MY FACE OR USED ANY STERIALIZATION PRIOR TO STARTING. He applied a NUMBING solution, waited 30 mins and started the procedure (standard). He explained to an observer, (someone considering a position at the spa) that he doesn't do the procedure as THE MANUFACTURER TEACHES (going in a circular motion or crosshatching), rather he pushes up and down over the entire surface. The PAIN during the procedure was so INTENSE I had to ask several times for him to STOP as it was unbearable. Twice he took a BROWN WET PAPER TOWEL and wiped my face as he went along, (I'm assuming wiping away the blood I horrifically discovered after). By the time I arrived home I was so nauseated from the pain I had to go to bed. I sent GREG an email the following day expressing my dissatisfaction and again the next, no reply. I the phoned several times leaving messages, spoke to a receptionist requesting a call back and received NO REPLY. Finally almost two weeks later a receptionist answered the phone and passed the phone to Greg. I told him I was upset and about the procedure and his lack of response and wanted my money back. He made an appointment for me to come back in, had "MISS SUE" join us and they both told me it was progressing well, and disregarded my comments about my dissatisfaction. I was still bruised horribly and had pinpoint scabs. I again requested a refund and he refused. I told him I would be back. As I left the waiting room there were five women filling out new patient forms. I wanted to scream, DON'T WALK, RUN! That afternoon I returned unexpectedly and began to speak with him about my dissatisfaction through the window. He of course ushered me to a treatment room. I told him I wanted a refund and he again refused. I told him I had no problem getting an attorney involved and he accused me of threatening him! The conversation from his side went downhill from there. He eventually agreed to refund my money (to get me to leave). As I exited into the waiting room I looked at him and said, "Thursday". He was so flustered he said, "Sure". He then said, "What Thursday?", and I told him I expected my check in the mail. OF COURSE IT NEVER ARRIVED. He has over $400 I paid and he won't return. I mentioned the incident to my daughter w/o telling her where I went and she replied, "CLAYTON MED SPA?". Showed me a section of her very long beautiful hair that was 3" long. Proceeded to tell me she went for laser hair removal, shaved the appropriate part of the back of her neck as best she could. When she arrived for her procedure GREG proceeded to tell her it need more shaving and cut an entire chunk out of the back of her head with an electric razor! BTW...I'm not the irate customer in the waiting room referred to in an earlier review! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HEED MY WARNINGS, STEER CLEAR OF CLAYTON MED SPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. I got the Groupon special. The experience wasn't bad physically; i.e. it was what I expected. I just felt like I could've been more educated on the process. They didn't tell me about the fact that I may have to get more sessions because of my skin tone, etc. They had an older model laser machine. During one of my sessions it actually stopped working so I couldn't do the session. They didn't get the machine repaired for about 6 months. Also I don't feel like they clean the bed in between sessions so that's disgusting. I had 6 sessions but only completed 5 because I'd much rather start over elsewhere. Honestly, I don't even know why I came back here because I got my very first Brazilian wax here some years back and you could clearly tell that the esthetician didn't know what the hell she was doing. I had to leave 2 messages to book my first appointment and while I wasn't expecting the Four Seasons, the building was gross and their suite not much better. The technician was nice. Upon arriving for my second appointment, which was re-scheduled due their poor scheduling, they ran 20 minutes late. The owner was so nonchalant about it and never even apologized. Then the day before my third appointment, I received a call that their laser was broken and they had no idea when it would be fixed but that they would "be in contact". It had already been 5 weeks and you can't go much more than 6 weeks between treatments. I called Groupon and got a refund. Just moved to stl and was looking for a place to get some waxing done and clayton med spa had a groupon for a $30 brazilian so i thought it wouldn't hurt to try them. I've had 10-15 brazilians before at two different spa so am not foreign to the process. This experience was not great. I don't know if it was the technician or the wax but the process was super painful (more than usual). The wax was also very sticky afterwards and took some work to get off - again a problem i've never had. Plus, when I got home, I realized a bunch of my shorter hairs were still there. Not a great job. Also, the place wasn't super nice. I had seen a med spa in clayton on forsyth driving by and thought that's what this place was when I bought the groupon, but iit was a different place out by the galleria (which is my fault) but the place was in a tiny suite in an office like building. I had to reschedule my appointment for a work emergency and when I called to do so they were pretty rude about it. They were also not super friendly once I got there. There was also another client who had been waiting for over 30 minutes past her appointment time and had to remind them she had waiting, even though there was no one else there besides her when I got there. The receptionist I spoke with gave me instructions for prepping for my first session and gave detailed directions on how to reach their office (it's on the second floor of a building but not hard to find at all). I had my first treatment with Stephanie today. I was so apprehensive about laser hair removal but she was really nice and patient with all of my questions. The young lady, who didn't introduce herself, that did the Brazilian was nice and fast overall. When it was over she said I had a little bit of bleeding. When I got up to get dressed there was bloom all over the wax that was on the table, my bikini line where I was bleeding was on fire. I opened the door and told her I was still bleeding she stated I'll give you an alcohol pad, you'll be fine later today. I normally don't put underwear back on to avoid friction however I had to to hold the gauze in place to keep blood from running down my thigh. I had to go home and put a cold towel on my vagina and that's when I noticed the big gash of skin missing. I was headed out of town this weekend. I could not get in the pool and. I could barely put on underwear. I will make sure I put this on every website review to make people aware. They use both hard and soft wax which soft wax is not good on the bikini area. I called Friday and left a voicemail, it's Monday and I have yet to hear back from them. read more

I was on the bed for max 55 minutes. The building or office is not what you would consider a "spa". I went for the first time for laser hair removal with a groupon. I went back last week for my second "scheduled" appointment. I used my lunch break and showed up 15 minutes early. Only to be told that they called everyone and cancelled their appointments because the laser is broken and they don't know when it will be fixed. I did not remember getting a call from them. She asked my name then checked the list. They called a different woman with my same last name (totally different first name). They said,"Oh, someone didnt put you on the list to call and cancel." I was a little aggravated but did not want to take it out on the young receptionist because she is very sweet and from seeing how much she has to deal with there already. They said they would call when the laser is working again. It has now been a week and no call. Now my upper lip is looking pretty scary. I was not offered a free session or anything for my hassle and their mistake. Now I'm debating on whether or not I even return. Do I cut my losses?? I would not buy anymore packages or services. **Update: Once again my appt was cancelled due to the laser machine being calibrated. They said they would call and reschedule. I never heard back. I went to Clayton Med Spa for my very first Brazilian Wax. Due to lack of attention to detail, I had to return for a touch up which was an inconvenience. The Aesthetician Stephanie Watkins performed the touch up. Her additude was a lot to be desired. I expected to be somewhat pampered, especially since it was the second visit. Stephanie Watkins displayed horrible people skills. She made me feel like she was doing me a favor when my first visit wasn't done correctly. She came off as a total bitch to me at the end. I left knowing I would never give them my business ever again. If you're thinking about going there for a service, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! No Stars Deserved!!! read more
