If you want a home-cooked meal while on the road, you need to stop here! Quaint hometown Cafe, friendly staff and people. My wife and I met some friends there and had dinner. Two of us had Hamburger steak with mashed, gravy, green beans & bacon and a salad for $9.99. The burger was fresh, gravy was nice, mashed tasted fresh and the green beans were delicious! The other 2 had chicken fried steak with mashed and the green beans. The chicken fried steak was excellent!! Tender and tastie! It was good hometown food. It's a small place just south of I-76 and CO. 59, can't miss it, it's got the bright red roof!! Bill was $60.77, so with tip I paid $75.00, well worth it in my humble opinion. read more

Driving home from across the country we haven't had stellar inexpensive meals right off the highway until we hit Colorado. Locally raised beef and many homemade items. I was debating driving on (stopped to feed the baby quick) but then looked at the reviews and decided to give it a try. It's quaint inside. Food was delicious and came out quickly. Lots of parking. So convenient right off the highway. Service was great. Fed me and my son for $20 and the burgers we got were great. The buns were toasted and delicious. For being in the middle of farmland and not much going on Lucy's exceeded our expectations and I would eat here again anytime. Quickest, best meal we have had in a few days. read more

We were told by family members that stop here on every trip to and from Denver to Omaha to try it. It is a little place with not much seating, the tables are small and tight for people who carry a little weight, and the only other option is sitting at the counter, which was covered by restaurant supplies so there was no room the day we stopped. They recommended the fruit pies which my husband did get. He ordered the Cherry Pie, and it was alright it was very tart but nothing to say Wow! He got the hamburger steak which he really liked, I ordered the special that day which was Fried Chicken, granted it was after 1pm and it probably had been made in the morning but it was pretty dried out and very small pieces. The mashed potatoes and gravy were excellent, but the stewed tomatoes for a side dish that came with it not good, I would have preferred corn, peas, or beans. After eating there and I saw our Denver family I asked them what they usually get and they said the Burgers. So if we are in that area again and happen to stop I will order the burger! read more

A great, authentic classic American diner in the middle of the middle of nowhere! A spot that is home to the locals- really.... they even have their own coffee mugs with name on them on wall pegs. You will feel you have stepped in a "way back time machine" from the moment you step through the door and see signs about minding your manners in their clean bathrooms to the funny wall decor with "touch here-for complaint department" that is a mouse trap! You will most likely have a chat and make a new friend while here. The waitresses are fast with a smile and fast with their service and the coffee is as fresh as can be. Adam and I stopped here for lunch because there truly is no other choices around without driving miles and miles out further and out of the way from where we were going. The menu is decent and has a good amount of options. That staff was very friendly. The food was okay. Adam got a bison burger and french fries and enjoyed it. I got fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken was good. It had a lot of flavor to it. Them mashed potatoes and the gravy weren't too good. They were very bland and didn't seem real. That always bothers me, real mashed potatoes are soooo easy to make and truly takes a meal a step further. The place is a bit outdated and a tad run down. Given the area that it is in, I am not surprised but I don't think I would come back. I would probably drive out for something different. read more

I was just passing through and stopped In Sedgwick for the night. This place was recommended by the inn keeper. We arrived just before close and the place was packed! It didn't look like much, but it had charm, locals keep their own coffee mugs hung on the wall, it had a ranch house decor, plenty to look at while we waited for food. And the food was so amazing! They raise their own bison! And have bison on the menu! I got the bison burger and my mom had the French dip sandwich and both were killer!!!! They weren't cutting any corners when it came to the quality of their food! Everything was fresh, not made from frozen. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who's traveling through, they're conveniently located right off the hwy next to the only gas station for miles! read more

Best burger along a 30 mile stretch of the interstate. Friendly, locally owned, really really good cherry pie. Bison burger,good hamburger. Lots of locals eat here. The conversations are a very enjoyable slice of life from eastern Colorado. We found the restaurant welcoming. It is a great local stop along a long stretch of the interstate. This local restaurant deserves a stop. There are 147 people who live in Sedgwick. There were 27 in the cafe when we were there. This place can quickly serve lunch....todays special was a burrito or taco/tamale combo. They looked delicious. Local restaurants are very important to small towns. Food insecurity in small communities can be a big concern, and small restaurants provide a place for local people to meet and eat. Best briskets and gravy I've ever had! Lots of truck parking. Outside is dated but in a cute way!

We stopped at Lucy's Place based on the recommendation of friends who had eaten there recently. I think we were immediately turned off because our waitress was rude. We weren't told of a special, so I don't know if there was one, or not. The French dip I ordered was very good, the French fries were moderately hot. Truthfully, I was afraid to send the fries back. Eventually our waitress did "warm up" and was friendlier. The breakfast menu looks great, and I'm looking forward to stopping in to try the breakfast burrito. read more

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but there's some tasty homestyle Americana cooking waiting within. We are big fans of the bison burgers. The map is a bit messed up. Highly recommend this place on your drive to middle of nowhere! This was a pleasant surprise. We were hungry and hadn't seen any food places for at least 20 miles (both directions!). Got a table and ordered our drinks and meals fairly quickly, we both got breakfast food. 30 minutes goes by, the waitress lets us know they are finishing up our food. Another 10 mins pass and we decide to just ask for it to go as we wanted to get back on the road. I walked up to the counter and asked to pay and get the food to go. The kid walked back to the kitchen, (which is completely open) to let the cook know. She then loudly yelled, 'well what the fuck do they expect ordering breakfast in the middle of the goddamn day, I don't give a shit about them. Fine give me some boxes I'll throw their shit in it.' She then looked up to see me standing there. No apology, but they did give us a free cinnamon roll. Food was unseasoned and cold.... Wow We had to stand in line but the wait was worth it. We sat at a community table which turns out was fun. I had pan fried chicken which was very good. I also had the salad bar that had the most amazing potato salad and deviled eggs. I commented at the table about how good it was and to my surprise the sweet lady who made both was sitting at our table. I enjoyed the meal and the company. Worth the stop. Me and my family were on the way to Nebraska from Denver and it was incredible. The food was good and the service was good also. My food came out within 5 minutes.
