Interesting place. The one waitress was nice. Bison burgers seem to be their specialty and they've raised their own bison since like the 50s. I was disappointed that they were no longer serving breakfast foods at 11am. The restaurant is on the westward bound side of the highway. read more

I stopped for lunch on the way from Iowa to Colorado, which turned out to be an excellent choice. had the bison burger & fries, finished with some apple pie a la mode. it was all delicious, service was friendly and fast, and my burger was cooked perfectly. Lucy's definitely has that local vibe, which almost always means the pie is great, which it was. I will be trying to make another stop here in the future, hopefully in time for breakfast, which occupies half the menu. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Fyi, follow the pin on the map and not the directions. as another reviewer pointed out, Lucy's is right next to I76 and not 3 miles to the south. just look for the red roof that reads CAFE and enjoy. read more

This was a great diner with all the classics and a few extras. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had a veggie burger, which I subbed on to the patty melt with an egg. It was delicious and the blt my wife got was very fresh and loaded. Great prices and service to boot. read more

Service was very good but the food left a lot to be desired. We stopped here on a road trip out of CO for a quick lunch. The servers are very nice locals that treat you right but the food leaves a lot to be desired. white bread, stale coffee, american cheese and soggy fries to name a few things. If you're starving or looking to meet some of the Easter Plains locals then come on in. Otherwise roll up the highway to the next exit that has better fare. read more

On our way to Denver we stopped for supper at this little diner (that almost looks abandoned). I had the buffalo burger (they raise their own buffalo!) and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I got spicy fries with it and they were awesome too. We also got the roast beef dinner that was perfect with excellent mashed potatoes and gravy. Lucy's Place was SO good I couldn't stop talking about it the whole trip, so we had to stop by a 2nd time on our way out of CO for breakfast (the Western omelette was awesome, but I would not recommend the biscuits & gravy...they are sweet biscuits, which is just not my thing). It's a family-owned business and it's run with love - walking in the 2nd time it felt like walking into my granny's kitchen, very familiar and homey and friendly faces, not to mention the smell of the delicious food. Bison burger was a bit over cooked for my taste but the French dip was awesome.

We ate supper here based on the reviews. The food was good, but I ordered the 3 piece chicken dinner and when it finally arrived the waitress, JJ, said, "That's the smallest chicken I've ever seen." And it was!!! I swear it came from a Cornish hen. Even after stating this she didn't do anything to correct it or make accommodations. It ruined an otherwise good meal. read more

Great old fashioned diner! Lucy's is a welcome treat in an area where there is not much other than chain restaurants. The people working there are locals. The food is yummy and cheap. They serve lots of comfort food that we all love. The sandwiches and onion rings are delicious. When I asked "What are Rocky Mountain Oysters?" I was given a sample of buffalo balls!!!! Stopped for breakfast while on road trip after reading other posts and reviews I was excited to stop at this"hidden gem" as one person called it. I was less than impressed. The waitress was unpleasant and seemed annoyed while taking our order. Two older gentleman argued politics or something with constant profanity with no regards to our children. The only polite people were the women sitting in the booth next to us, who thanked us for coming in so I assume they had some affiliation with the diner. Got a massive plate of biscuits and gravy that was bland even with the addition of salt and pepper, the food was over priced spent around $45 for 2 adults and 2 very small children. Had to say I was less than impressed, but with no to little other options for miles it wasn't horrible. read more

Breakfast stop on our way thru and so glad we did. We had breakfast at this old fashion country cafe with wonderful service and great food. Coffee was a little weak, but my omelette, my husbands biscuits and gravy and sons pancake were all really good. Get the sausage with breakfast, best sausage we've had in 1600 miles. read more

Lucy's place is amazing! My family and I were concerned about eating at a diner in the middle of nowhere and we completely 100% recommend it! Everybody was happy about what they ordered. My brother & sister-in-law broke down on the hwy on their motorcycle in 115 degree weather. Someone took them in to Lucy's and Lucy's paid for all their drinks after they paid for the first ones. They even took my brother back to the bike to get their personal stuff while they waited for AAA to come. Lucy's really went out of their way to help. read more
