I came in yesterday as a walk in and was given a 25 minute wait, I saw they were busy - so I assumed it was because of the good service... so I waited more around 40 minutes and was finally told to go to a pedicure chair. I originally wanted a deluxe pedicure and informed the man at the desk when he gave me a wait time but by the end of the pedicure, when I asked where the hot stone and extra massage was - she said it didn't come with the basic pedicure - which was disappointing. Also, the bottom of my feet didn't feel silky/smooth like I've had at other places - she barely used the pomace rock, even though I asked her to do more. Then I'm seated at the manicure station and ask her to do the same color in gel on my fingernails before we even start. She gets a bowl and puts my hand in got all of 30 seconds and begins cutting the cuticles and then does the same on the other side. By the end of the manicure, which took so long because she was moving very slowly but the work shows the lack of effort... it looks like my nails are already outgrown because of how she applied the polish. At this point, what was supposed to be a relaxing time turned into disappointment and frustration. Came in Sunday around noon for a mani pedi. The place reeked of nail polish fumes and nail dust, the stations were dirty. I should've left at that sight but thought they might have just been busy from the morning. I believe the man that did my nails is named Casey. He was young and consistently on his phone, I sat and waited for him most of the time I was there, and the times he did give to my nails were extremely rushed, he did a full set of mani and pedi with regular polish in 45 minutes, and this is including all the times he spent on his phone every 3-5 minutes. He barely did any work with the pumice rock on my feet, did not shape nor file my nails, my toe nails are uneven from left to right foot. He also did a poor job on trimming the cuticles, and cutting and shaping the nails on my hands, layered such heavy coats on all my nails, every single one of them had bubbles, and one actually split and is peeling on day 3. I'm not sure how they have good reviews on Google, but this is not a place I would recommend! read more

I gave 2 stars because the air didn't reek polish fumes. But don't go there expecting service to please. Daughter and I went for a pedicure as a walk-in at 2, they requested we come back at 4, which we did. When we arrived they weren't prepared for us. Daughter's water was cold. Attendant couldn't understand any English, and didn't understand a pedicure involves shaping the toenail. When she tried to get her to fix it, she was ignored. My family and friends could not stop laughing at what I showed them I wanted vs what I was given and expected to pay! I asked the "nail artist" to please remove that paint and we can just go with on quick color because clearly she drew worse that my 4 year old on my nails! Nothing too fancy for me, a quick in and out for $35. The place is clean and modern looking with lots of chairs and nail stations. There is a charge for using a card so bring cash if you want. Based on the different customers in the salon, I could tell that the nail techs are flexible on the vibe you bring in (if you want to chat, they'll chat, if you wanna sit in silence, you'll sit in silence). I don't ever go to the nail salon, but I didn't feel like anything was over priced and that prices were average compared to other salons. Very impressed by my first experience here! They take walk-ins, which is nice. Very airy and vibrant place with a friendly atmosphere, conveniently located by Schoolcraft College. The staff is very attentive and accommodating to customer requests. Most importantly, you get your money's worth, and they are very careful with how they handle each nail. I never go to nail salons because I always have issues with them but this place is so nice. All the workers take their time on your nails but also get it done so fast. I had gel nails yesterday and already three have chipped. The lady doing my nails wasn't unfriendly but she seemed more interested in the game show on tv. One of the techs (there were two) brought her baby in and he was scooting all over the floor in his Walker and when he got fussy he was handed things from their trays to appease him. I went in for a pedicure fulfilling my self care day. The spa was super clean and the staff was friendly and professional. I opted for the tropical sugar scrub which was fabulous. Came in as a walk-in on a Sunday afternoon and waited about a half hour. No big deal. The salon itself was clean, but all the tools they used just got wiped down and put back in drawers. Gross. Got a gel polish change and asked for a soak off. They used the grinding tool first "to get the top layer off," which I hate because it always weakens my nails so much. Soaked for just a couple minutes, then used the grinding tool again to actually get all the old gel off. It hurt! I'm guessing they did it this way because they had a line, but I feel like I got inferior service because they were busy. I wasn't going to write a review because it looks like they're new and I didn't want to hurt their business, but TWO of my gel nails have chipped already, just hours after I left the salon. Painful service and chipping nails less than 8 hours in? Review warranted. Take your money to L&P up the road and save yourself the poor service. read more

Less than 48 hours after our $105 plus tip service, one of her nails fell off, and her nails were very uneven from hand to hand, and my gel manicure is already chipping. I called back and asked for a time to fix, before her hoco, and set an appointment for 1030 on Saturday morning (day of event). 10:45 no one at the salon and doors were locked. Called a few times and left a message, got a call back and they said their power was out and they could not get in, which was a lie as all the other businesses in the complex had power, plus the exit sign and back lights in the salon were on. First time to this shop and met Phillip and Steven. Both guys tagged teamed and provided a great experience for my mani & pedi service. They are "foodies" and have great recommendations if you are new to town or just looking for some new recommendations. They are good conversationalists and makes the time go by fast. As for the "extra" Cs when getting mani & pedi compared to Chicago, they can improve. Maybe offer a bottle of water, maybe offer hot towel hand massage with the manicure, perhaps offer punch cards for a discount after 5 visits etc. I mention these options to help boost your business as its new. Someone referred me here and the place is overall clean. I don't know if the tools were sterilized only because I didn't see the gentleman pull out any pkg in front of me but that doesn't mean they weren't. I was disappointed that the gentleman that was my nail tech was rushing to get off the shellac, rushing with the polish and was not as gentle as I wud like. His polishing skills are sub-par he was just rushing. I asked him to slow down, not rush and by human nature got a bit defensive. I asked if there was anyone else that cud polish that was neater and he advised there was not cuz I was too picky! This is for anyone, we as people need to learn to take feedback cuz it will only make us better and fight against feeling defensive and humble ourselves. I wasn't too picky, I want a neat pedicure, period whether I do it or not but especially since I'm spending my money. I won't go here again and I left without even getting the polish. After a powder dip, one of the "new" nails popped off completely the next day. Over the next week, a total of 6 mail coverings popped off! All my other powder dips from other salons have lasted a couple weeks and have to be carefully taken off so this was quite shocking. It's too bad since the nail techs were super friendly. read more

This would be my second time coming to the salon, whenever I come in I'm serviced right away which is great and the reason I came back the second time. On my first visit I did a dip set with a pedicure. I always do shellac on my toes and It would be no different this time. However on my second visit to get again a dip set and pedicure. As the lady is taking my shellac off I notice my toe nails on each big toe is yellow. I ask her what it was she assures me it's not fungus and that maybe I'm wearing tight shoes. Phil comes to take over the service I ask him again what's on my toes he assures me it is not fungus and maybe that I have eczema. I explain to him I have never seen this on my toe nails before. And that the last time I received service for my feet was done at his shop. The shellac that was removed was the shellac he put on. I'm convinced this is a fungus and I'm positive I received it from this shop. He wanted to polish over the toe nail and I refused. I will not be returning back read more
