Great experience with Lufthansa. The stewards came a few times with drinks, water and tea. First they gave us nuts for snack. Then they came around with drinks, I got two Becks beer. Later they came around with dinner, which was curry chicken or rigatoni. An hour later, they gave out bottle of water. Later on, they came around with tea. Lastly, before we landed, they handed out a light breakfast empanada eggs with coffee. The flight was smooth with no turbulence! Also, I had extra leg space on both flights. Especially, when I was seating on the emergency exit row!

Nice once you get off the ground. Always seems to be delays but they seem to make it up most of the time. Decent service.

I did not have a good flight with Lufthansa. The departing gate at Frankfurt airport wasn't the best experience. There no organization when lining up for your group number, it's basically everyone just standing around instead of being in an organize line. They also don't put on the TV what group number they are boarding so everyone just have to listen to the PA system with their low volume. The plane itself was not comfortable for long flights. The entertainment system is very slow and not reactive on the touchscreen. The window seat doesn't have a lot of leg room because there was a metal box there.

Flew out of Frankfurt via Lufthansa Cityliner on the CRJ900 and it was a decent experience. Since I was transiting within the Schengen there was no security check, just a bus ride, a long walk underneath the terminal, and another elevator ride. As my incoming plane was delayed, our flight was slightly delayed. Counter agents walked by the departure gate to gate check carry-ons since the CRJ900 is a tiny plane. The inflight service consisted of a bottle of water, along with a piece of Lindt milk chocolate. There was no wifi for the 1 hour flight into Amsterdam. Cabin crew were available and seemed German. Once we landed in Amsterdam, we walked down the plane and walked back up to the terminal.

We spent over $2,000 on tickets with Lufthansa for the most important trip of our lives--our honeymoon--and they managed to damage not just our luggage, but the entire experience. Our suitcase didn't arrive "damaged." It arrived destroyed--like it had been dragged across a runway or run over by equipment. The shell was torn apart, deeply gouged, and covered in grime. Inside? Clothes crushed and stained, gifts ruined, and items missing entirely. Let that sink in. But somehow, the worst part wasn't even the destruction--it was what came after. We spent over 3 hours trying to get help, both on the phone and in person, only to be: Passed from one department to another Given completely different answers Sent in circles over and over Every single interaction felt the same: No ownership. No urgency. No real help. Just people who either didn't know what they were doing--or didn't care enough to figure it out. At some point, it stops feeling like disorganization and starts feeling like a system designed to wear you down until you give up. Imagine arriving for your honeymoon after 12+ hours of travel, only to deal with destroyed belongings, missing items, and hours of being bounced around like your situation doesn't matter. That's the reality of this experience. We've filed a formal claim and EVEN AFTER ONE MONTH have yet to hear back from an actual person to resolve our issue. For a $2,000+ trip, for a once-in-a-lifetime moment--this level of negligence and complete lack of accountability is unacceptable.

The boarding process and service on the flight earns 5 stars. It was the unboarding to a bus that packed us in like sardines that lowered the rating. Other than that, it was a very good flight from Kraków to Frankfurt. Everything went well from check-in to boarding at the airport. We were initially concerned that our carry-on luggage was too big. Lufthansa is usually very strict on size and weight. The young lady at the counter said it's not a full flight. All was good in the world from that point on. Thankfully she was right. She was also the same person who boarded us at the gate. I recalled a childhood memory while watching the flight attendant giving a child passenger a pin and some chocolate. The same thing happened to me when I was visiting my brother in Germany at the age of 12. I fondly remember receiving a chocolate egg with a miniature Lufthansa airplane inside of it. It was cool to see that they still do that today. It's the no frills type of Business Class seating that is standard on smaller aircraft. The middle seat is left unoccupied. Actually, there were a lot of open seats since the flight wasn't full. It made it more comfortable. We were served a light meal. We weren't expecting that. It was probably the best unexpected meal that I've ever had on an airplane. A Caprese burrata, fresh brötchen, and a Portuguese egg tart. The brötchen had a cheese topping. It was all very good. At the end of the flight, we were all given a mini sized Rizzati Ferrara Nocciola chocolate praline. It made my day. Honestly, I wish the US airlines would do something similar to set them apart. It's those little things that give lasting memories. The service was great! As I mentioned earlier, the schengen shuttle to Terminal 1 was a cluster. That was the only thing that dampened the experience. It's Frankfurt Airport. What can I say?

LUFTHANSA- Lisbon vacation was really great especially because we flew Lufthansa! Our flights were really smooth and on time . We flew from San Francisco to Frankfurt to Lisbon and then back . German engineering is definitely the best and we were treated very well. Discovered some German Rose that was really good too. Movie and Music selection was amazing ! And customer service was top tier . Look forward to our next flight !! Danke shun Lufthansa!!

Checkin staffs and inflight staffs were great. Terrible foods. Could be 5 stars if better food
In an era where it feels like airlines are cutting corners everywhere they possibly can it is refreshing to fly Lufthansa, a company which still values their customers. I've flown with them numerous times over the years in continental Europe and there is a reason why I keep coming back to them. The flight attendants are always welcoming and attentive. They always speak to you with a smile and in general treat you pretty well. I have to say that passenger agents though are not as good. It's not that they're rude or anything it's just that they don't seem to be at the same level as the cabin crew. Even on short-haul flights you can expect to be taken care of. They always feed you (for free no less). As some of you may know free food is not always the norm on some airlines. On overseas flights they are very attentive even if you're in economy class. You'll be well fed and the flight attendants pass through the cabin frequently with drinks. The entertainment systems are better on other airlines but everything else is pretty good. Best yet is that you get legroom! I'm pretty tall and have taken many flights where my knees were touching the seat so I always appreciate legroom. Lufthansa is flying done right and I wish other airlines would take note and do the same. I have to say that after my most recent trip with them I arrived at my destinations tired but in a good mood because I really enjoyed my flights. They really go out of their way to make sure that you the customer are taken care of. read more

My review, continued... The dinner choices were pasta and chicken, and they couldn't confirm if they had a specific ingredient in the pasta. (You'd think that they would have an ingredient list!) Not wanting to risk eating the pasta without knowing if that ingredient was in it, I decided on the chicken. Not only did I not have a choice, but the person beside me ordered the chicken, which came with rice, and it looked pretty tasty. However, the dish I got was not what my neighbour had, and I'm not even certain it was chicken. It was some mystery meat (probably pork) with BBQ sauce (I hate BBQ sauce, and the chicken my neighbour had did not have that sauce on it), and instead of rice, it was some nasty mush (quinoa?). Also, the salad came with feta cheese all over it, something that makes me extremely ill (my neighbour's salad was different, of course, and did not have feta cheese). I swear, they somehow knew that I don't eat pork, BBQ sauce, and goat cheese--I'm surprised there weren't bananas in the dish. When I asked the flight attendant why I had not gotten the same dish as my neighbour, they it was because they ran out. First of all, if you run out of something, tell the person, so they can decide weather or not to go with the alternative. Second, if there were only two choices, as claimed, WTF was this third meal? But the worst part is, the flight attendant who took my order outright LIED to me, because when I asked if I would be getting the same dish as my neighbour, he said YES. I asked another flight attendant about why I had gotten a completely different meal than my neighbour when I was ordering the same dish, and they said some bullshit about how I got "regular economy class chicken", not "premium economy class chicken." I don't know if I quite believe it, but at least it's an explanation, whether true or not. So no dinner for me, but I had some snacks that kept me satisfied enough (ie. I did not get hypoglycemic.) Not that I could have eaten dinner anyway, as the asshole in front of me would not move his seat up during dinner time (he was fully reclined). I asked a flight attendant to ask the guy to move his seat up (this is when I thought I was going to be able to eat dinner), and they said that they don't ask people to move their seats up, in case people want to sleep. On every single flight I have ever been on, during meal time, flight attendants ask everyone to move their seat up as a courtesy for those trying to eat, and I have seen flight attendants wake people up to do so. I was not impressed. And because the guy in front of me would not move his seat up, I spilled water all over my jeans, and had to spend the next seven hours with wet jeans (thank goodness it wasn't wine). About halfway through the flight, I felt something on my elbow, which I had resting on my arm rest (I was in an aisle seat). It was the asshole behind me who thought it was perfectly appropriate and acceptable behaviour to place his feet up on my arm rest. I pushed his filthy feet off my arm, and thankfully he got the hint and did not dare place his feet on my arm rest again. Then breakfast time rolled around. The asshole in front of me once again had his seat reclined all the way back, and this time I demanded that the flight attendant make him move it up (during dinner time, because the flight attendant refused to ask him, I had to tell him to move his seat). I could tell they weren't too happy about my request. For breakfast they were serving omelettes, and because I don't eat pork, I asked if the omelette was vegetarian, and the flight attendant said YES. So imagine my surprise and disgust when I bite into my omelette, only to discover SAUSAGE in it. WTF. I asked a direct question, and the flight attendant outright LIED to me. And when I told him there was sausage in it, I could tell by his reaction that he knew he had lied. Lufthansa, to my surprise, offers unlimited free alcohol, which is always a bonus in my books because I like to drink. (I have never been on a flight that offers free alcohol, so this was a novelty for me.) But despite the fact that you can get free booze on Lufthansa, they still get one star. Also, despite having four glasses of wine on a practically empty stomach, I did not feel tipsy at all. I was dreading the flight home, but to my surprise, it was fine. The staff were actually really nice and did not lie to me about anything, and I could actually eat the food, which was quite tasty. No complaints about the flight home. But despite the pleasant flight home, the first flight was so horrific that they get one star. read more

Lufthansa.... Gesundheit!!!! While I dont typically fly with them, United though tells me that I have to. Though after my experience with them, I dont see why not. They aren't half bad really but of course I paid for a better experience and I'll probably pay for it for the rest of my life. hahaha Even though my personal experience at the airport was abysmal due to maintenance issues and weather conditions... waiting the 13 odds hours for plane in the business lounge wasnt half bad at all. Met some nice people, used a nice shower, ate some nice food... cant complain too much. But what was really nice is when my lay over turns into a delay which then turns into a canceled flight... and then turns into a complimentary stay at a hotel along with dinner and a relaxing dip in the pool followed by breakfast the next morning before catching a shuttle back to my greatly anticipated business flight back home. ;D minus one star for actually asking me whether I'd take a sooner flight if it meant passing up business class. HELL NAH! I'll wait till the next day... hell the next couple days if it means I fly in business like I paid for. read more

I supposed to travel in December 25 2021 and I got covid 19 positive. I had to cancel my flight and they only refunded me the taxes. This airline prefer that the customers travel with covid if not the people lost their money. My recommendation is not travel to this airline they only matter the money not the pandemic. read more

This is the worst company to fly with. We flew it coming here because my husband is European and he believed Lufthansa was a good airline. We first took it from SFO and the first problem was they made us pay for luggage even though I showed the agent that our ticket included 1 checked luggage. I always pay for luggage beforehand because it's a lot cheaper than what they make you pay at the airport. He made us pay $75 anyways. This rubbed me the wrong way but I went on with the vacation. Of course my husband wanted to use them going back to SFO so we did. First, they left late so the plane was delayed and we missed our connection. We tried to run and make it but were held up in Germany because the lady was upset that she couldn't find a stamp in my passport even though I kept telling her I have a residency card for Italy so I eject get a stamp. We missed our connection and then had to deal with customer service from hell at Lufthansa. They guy was unbelievably rude. I first asked him if there was another, earlier flight he could put us on so that we wouldn't have to sit at the airport for like 5 hours. He said no. I asked him if there was a customer service center and I guess that made him mad because from there he became crazy rude. He told us that we didn't even pay that much for our ticket and it wasn't 'that bad' and I should be fine with it because it's not like I've never had a delayed flight before. He continued on saying rude stuff. I think customer service is definitely the wrong profession for him. I have never ever had to deal with someone like him and I've been flying all over the world since I was a teenager. We missed our connection because of their mistakes and instead of being empathetic and kind, he was the opposite. Absolutely despicable. I will never ever fly this airline again and I will tell ALL of my family and friends not to fly it either. To top it off, he gave us seats that weren't next to each other for an 11 hour flight. And then was rude about that too !! read more

Long-Haul Flights: 3 stars Short-Haul Flights: 4 stars I recently did Singapore-Frankfurt-Prague with Lufthansa, and it was good overall. I was in a new Airbus A380 for the long haul, and to be honest I didn't like it that much. There weren't any foot rests and I felt like the rows were a bit too close together; when all the seats are reclined back and you are sitting in the window seat, it's definitely a struggle to get out to the aisle! Their in-flight entertainment system has a good selection of TV shows, movies, and music, but I don't think it's very user friendly. It may seem all high tech with a touch screen, but it's not very responsive and lags a lot. On my way to Frankfurt, mine didn't even work! Going back to Singapore, it was lagging, and still cumbersome to navigate. However, they did offer live World Cup coverage, so that spares them from further criticism. The food was just okay. For dinner, they had 2 choices, for breakfast, only one choice. If I recall correctly, SQ has 3 choices for dinner, and maybe 2-3 for breakfast. Believe it or not, I thought the snacks they served on the short-haul flight were better. What I thought would be a dry croissant for breakfast turned out to be my all-time favourite CHOCOLATE CROISSANT! I was all, OOH GIRL, YOU KNOW ME SO WELL! And coming back from Prague, we were given a chicken with black bean sauce wrap; surprisingly juicy and well seasoned. I didn't encounter any issues with the check-in staff or the flight attendants. We also had a tight connection in Frankfurt for our flight going back to SG and were worried that our luggage wouldn't make it, but luckily it did! Kudos to the luggage guys at Frankfurt! Given my in-flight experience on their long-haul, Lufthansa wouldn't be my first choice when traveling to Europe from Asia, but for short-hauls within Europe, I wouldn't mind at all. read more
I have always heard good things about Lufthansa. Is it true? Indeed YES! Maybe just a little above normal service from other airlines. It doesn't bother me that much but when the person sitting in front of you puts their seat back and you're watching television, their seat comes forward and it is slightly annoying. You can't really tell the other person to not do it because it is part of the comfort zone to sleep in that manner. I have read fights during flights have occurred because of this reason. Everyone on board has the right to do it. On a Lufthansa flight I thought this was less intrusive/annoying. I've flown about a dozen airlines to know the tiny differences. I know every flight is different so I'll speak only for a normal flight with no issues. Boarding is on time and landing was smooth. The pilots I can understand when they make announcement. The stewardesses are pleasant. Most airlines have pleasant stewardesses anyway. In terms of food, I like the spread. If I had to compare to what I normally fly: Delta, I'd say Lufthansa is three times better in my opinion. However, Lufthansa could improve on their movie selection. But with the slightly improvement in comfortability that can slide, even the bathrooms were better. read more

No customer service at all. Germany adopted a COVID quarantine on November 26, 2021 ten days after I bought my ticket. The period exceeds my travel dates - completely wrecks the trip - I can't find a human to work out either a new booking or a refund. No phone numbers available. Now online support. Since I booked through Expedia it is even harder to resolve. Expedia chat says that only the airline can change dates of travel or refund the ticket. So, this is a complete loss - worse still - the Expedia Travel Insurance doesn't "protect your trip" as it leads you to believe - at least not in this case. Bad experience - with no good alternatives - and no customer service there to assist in a new booking or a refund. Modern life? read more
I had a round-trip flight from Tel Aviv - Frankfurt and really had no complaints. I flew the normal economy seating. I was served an ok breakfast to Frankfurt. The dinner meal back to TLV was better. Free alcohol is a plus! The crew was great both ways. We had a slight delay out of Frankfurt (weather) and the pilots were very apologetic, even if it was out of their control. I would definitely fly with Lufthansa again in the future. read more

I made horrible continental as well as intercontinental flight experiences with Lufthansa. The flight to Zurich was to bear but the long one to Tokyo was dreadful! The airplane was old and TV monitors on top were in bad quality remembering 70s era. Additionally there was no space for legs because of bad seat pitch and that was very painful! Food quality was just bad. Given blankets were old and also made my black trousers appearing dirty!! I complained to cabin crew but they didn't have a dust cleaning roller! Since then I don't fly with Lufthansa anymore! read more

I booked my flights to Portugal in September for $550 per person. Everything appeared to be fine with my booking- I was able to request seats and disability services for my partner who is disabled via their customer service phone number in October. I was also able to add special meals on the app. I received an email to check in for the flight the night before. I tried to check in online and it didn't work. I called customer service and they said to just check in tomorrow at the airport. I asked them to please make sure everything was okay with my flight. They placed me on hold then said that my flight had been cancelled in September and that if I still wanted to fly the next day on the same flights that I would have to rebook it and pay $2005 per person now! They also said that they would reimburse me for the extra amount the ticket now cost- $2934. I asked if that was a guarantee and they said yes and gave me the customer service email address for me to email. I only rebooked it with the understanding that I would be reimbursed for the extra amount. I emailed them and they took 3 months to respond and then denied the reimbursement. Lufthansa has now defrauded me out of almost $3000! read more

My wife and I were traveling from Barcelona to Chicago on May 29, 2022 when we received an email stating "Your Lufthansa flight LH1139 is almost full. You therefore have the option of checking in your carry-on baggage at a check-in counter, free of charge." We were one of the first people in line and ready to check in at 3:45 am and were told by the representative helping us to check in our carry on bags. We respectfully declined as we had things in these bags that we needed with us for our flight. We were told by the representative that we did not have an option as the flight was full. We placed our two carry on bags on the conveyer belt and were told they were both overweight and that we would be charged 65.39 EUR for one bag and the other would be free. I respectfully asked to have my bags so I could rearrange some weight and possibly discard what I don't need to which the representative refused. She said it would not make a difference, although I thought I had the right to try. She unfortunately angrily gave my bags and said that I would now be charged for both bags and the one she was giving for free would no longer be free. I thought this was rude and unprofessional. I said that I will will pay for both to which she refused. She told me to go to the side and rearrange the weight and see what happens. I realized this would be too much of a hassle so I told her I would pay for both bags but she still refused. I wanted to pay for the bags and get on the flight but she would not allow this so I asked to speak with the manager. She then proceeded to rip up the boarding passes she printed for us previously and told us to wait on the side because the manager would not be here until 4 am. I again asked if I could just pay for both bags so I could get on with my travels to which she refused. The manager, Anna, came and resolved the issue. She allowed us to go to another representative and we gladly paid for both bags. Unfortunately, the representative that we first spoke with was not wearing a name tag and she would not give us even her first name so we could give our feedback properly. We could only identify she was working at counter number 603 in the times mentioned above. This was an extremely distressing, unsatisfying and embarrassing experience. We felt the words used by the representative at counter 603 were extremely rude, her actions including ripping up the boarding pass were unprofessional, and her failure to attempt to resolve the issue by allowing us to pay for our two bags was poor customer service. We felt she was acting out of spite by not allowing us to pay, vengeance by taking away a free bag she initially offered us, and pride by forcing us to wait for the manager even though we told her we were willing to pay for 2 bags on multiple occasions. read more

We booked flights from Amsterdam to Rome and Rome to Paris. Both flights had a layover in Frankfurt. The flight to Rome was okay and on time, however my brand new hard case luggage was substantially damaged. The service center told me that I would have to file a claim online. I was okay with that. The flight from Rome to Paris was delayed because it arrived late to Rome. We missed Our connecting flight from Frankfurt to Paris because of the delay. The airline told us we were re-booked on a 2 pm flight. Not happy about the two hour delay, but could be worse. Now, as I literally sit on the floor of the Lufthansa Service Center writing this review, we are waiting for our boarding passes (denied access to the roped-off seating area because the guy believed he already helped us). Ha Ha!! were just told that we have been booked on the 4:45 pm flight! To top it off, all three of our seats are middle seats, in different rows. None of our seats are together. I pre-paid for a car service to take us from airport to hotel. Was told they are not going to wait five hours for us to arrive and I am out the money. And of course.... I was told that any complaints with Lufthansa must be filed online. I travel internationally twice a year. First and last time on this airline. This has been the worst experience I have had with an airline. No sense of customer service. I find myself wondering where our luggage will end up. SMH read more

Lufthansa canceled my flight in early March and still has not refunded the ticket, despite my best efforts. They even lied to the Better Business Bureau to say they'd processed the refund, only to admit later they hadn't. Under US DOT rules, they must process a refund for a credit card transaction within seven business days. It has now been 88 days since they canceled, and not only do I not have my money, they won't even provide an estimate of when I might get it, despite freely admitting they owe it. They're just holding it indefinitely as a kind of involuntary interest-free loan. read more

Generally efficient operation. They handle self absorbed passengers well and seem to be well trained. Boarding area very clean. I would only recommend they work on their boarding control better. The flight crew was not the most friendly that I have experienced, however, they were prompt and on time. Perhaps when they figured out I had some Germanic heritage they soften up to me. Our maybe it was all the drinks that come with a European carrier. I have flown on Malaysian carriers where the alcohol flows freely. However, there are specific drinks for various events that occur during the day in Europe. We started with something before takeoff then with the meal, later a drink "for digestion". You could even say that the European experience starts on the tarmac before the wheels left the ground. I will not use any other carrier when flying to Germany except Lufthansa. Y 27/100 read more

The experience on Lufthansa was a little mixed. The staff except for one flight attendant was terrific, pleasant and accommodating. There are some things that Americans should know - in economy class the areas under the seats are very small and will not fit a regular sized backpack without encroaching on your leg room. Economy is very cramped for a long flight. A purse or small backpack will be fine. The in flight entertainment is generous and headphones are provided along with pillows and blankets for overnight flights. The food is pretty good but there is not a choice in a menu card in the seat back. The staff will give you a choice IF there is one. Very efficient boarding. read more

Everything was pretty good except the lady at the baggage check in, in Frankfurt. She talked down to me. She is not a happy person and should consider getting another job. How can I possibly see a small digital scale embedded on the counter unless it is pointed out to me? Do you really need to yell at me and treat me like an idiot because I didn't see it? Anyway, I hope things go better for her so she can be a happy person. Being angry at everyone all day can't possibly be good for your health. People never forget how you made them feel. Hence, the 3 stars. People at baggage check in were confused and told me to go upstairs. They guy up there said line was too long and to go back downstairs. They should use walkie-talkies. Food on plane was great. Flight attendants were awesome. read more

On March 10 Lufthansa said they would refund my money for a cancelled flight due to Covid-19. Now, more than 3 weeks later, I still have not received my refund. Why are they hanging onto my money?! read more

Never fly Lufthansa unless you're willing to lose money!!! We tried to fly our76-year-old mom from Samara Russia to Denver and she was denied boarding in Moscow. She was vaccinated with a negative COVID test 24hrs prior, had a valid visa good for a year, and complied with all of Lufthansa's and the USA's entry requirements. She was DENIED BOARDING because of the gate agent's interpretation of travel restrictions and given a letter to contact Lufthansa for a refund. We had to re-book on Aeroflot a week later. The only Lufthansa contact was via email. I sent the email with all supporting documentation, including screen shots from their website showing all conditions (which she met). Over a month later, the refund request was denied by an automatically generated message. They denied her boarding, told her she would get a refund, stranded her in Moscow, did not offer any assistance in getting her back to her home airport. Their customer service department DOES NOT HAVE A NUMBER TO CALL to talk with someone...WHAT? The refund request was denied by a computer-generated email over a month later. I guess they have a lot of issues/complaints that they do not or cannot deal with so they limit their support to computers...not people. We've lost $1000. I've never been treated like this. read more

Lost Luggage, TERRRIBLE Customer serice #1, they insisted on taking our suitcases at the gate because the plane was full. Keep in mind this was a direct flight from Frankfurt to Paris. We get to Charles De Gaulle and wait and wait... 1 hour later one of their employees approaches us and tells us our luggage is in Frankfurt. We spend another hour filling out paper work and are promised that our luggage will arrive that evening and be delivered to our apartment This never happens, and we receive no calls or emails about the status of our luggage. It is FREEZING in Paris and we have no sweaters, or the appropriate shoes. We spend hours on the phone with the worst customer service department in Germany, whose employees clearly did not care. They wouldn't even tell us where our luggage was. Two days later it was delivered. Horrible experience. Will never fly them again and I warn you - that they lost the luggage of at least 12 people on that flight. read more

If you have elderly sick parents don't ever book on Lufthansa! My sick elderly 67 year old father is now stuck in Germany and was forced off of a Lufthansa for asking for his rights! We paid additional money and booked specific seats for him due to his recent open heart and knee surgery, Lufthansa changed his seat and refused to give him the seat that we PAID for. Then because he was asking for his seats and complaining they had him humiliated and literally dragged off the plane to the point where his pants came off by 6 police officers. We are now forced to pay for another flight for him to get back. On top of all that they black listed him from the airline because he was asking for his rights! He is now stuck in Germany for an additional 12+ hours and is undergoing a lot of added stress and anxiety due to what he's been through. I have flown to Europe many times and this first time flying Lufthansa was by far the worst in customer service. Unfriendly and rude are the two words that stand out. Unsmiling and unfriendly stewardess encounters continued in both international and domestic flights. Wow is all I can say in regards to this experience. Will never choose Lufthansa again. First time that I had my carry on weighed and forced to put in stored luggage because just over .2 kg. Would not let me remove an item to make it fit. I was traveling from Washington DC to Frankfurt. Our first flight from Atlanta (by a different airline which I will not mention) was messed up. However there was a supervisor, her name is Marva (5/31/17 Gate B45 4pm) (may be misspelling her name) she was wonderful courteous and on top of it. She knew exactly what she was doing and was being pulled back and forth every other second but she maintained her composure and was professional at all times. Business class on a Lufthansa plane is the same as coach. 3 seat rows and no leg room.
I am extremely disappointed with Lufthansa and their arrogant attitude. I was flying with my boyfriend for a 9 hours flight and we wanted to sit together. However, without telling anything to me I got rebooked last minute to an empty premium economy seat while my boyfriend was in the economy seat. Since next to my new seat there was not anybody, after the boarding was completed I asked my boyfriend to move up. The hostess saw him and started shouting to him that he had to pay 300$ to sit there making him look as somebody that was stealing!!! I tried to explain the situation but she didn't want to hear. It was extremely embarrassing! So, I decided to move back to the seat I was originally assigned in economy. While I was moving there, another hostess was moving for FREE an entire family from economy to economy premium because they couldn't be seated together... I moved back to the seat that I was originally assigned in economy to have a 9 hours flight together with my boyfriend and the screen was broken and the seat didn't move... Seriously?!!?!? It was the worst humiliating experience ever. I understand that rules are rules but I honestly think that rules should apply 1) for everybody and 2) with common sense. In this situation Lufthansa didn't have either of them. I am frequent traveler, I spend lots of money on trips and definitely this was my last trip with Lufthansa. read more

Lufthansa gate agent was amazing. Quickly figured out the crazy itinerary resulting from an air Canada cancelled flight (followed by 3 rebookings). The Lufthansa people quickly found the optimal way to get me to Budapest. Great work. read more
Crappy customer service. My flight was delayed coming into Frankfurt and I had to go to (believe it or not) five different Lufthansa desks since they kept sending me to another person. Nobody could help me. Eventually, I had to leave security and go to the check in counter and get a new ticket and then go back through security again to get into the terminal. The B terminal didn't have a lounge and I hadn't slept for 20 hours. Jeff was not a happy camper! read more

Lufthansa delayed the refund for a month after we cancelled our flight, even though they promised a 7 day refund. They said it was their staff/system error. When I asked for the waive of cancellation fees, they make me do all kinds of things, including, picture license, bank information ( they won't refund to the credit card for whatever reason), boarding pass ( I sent them the confirmation email , but that was not good enough.), I don't have boarding pass because I cancelled the flight two weeks before the boarding date. Then they want selfies with drivers license. Now 1 1/2 months later, I got an e mail today asking me exactly the same thing they asked in the first email . I will never use this company again. read more

Lufthansa is a disgrace. We had a connecting flight with Lufthansa, arrived in Frankfurt, we were delayed and ran to our flight to Turin. We got to the gate 15 minutes before departure and were told we would not be able to board. I went to the desk and said they were sorry and would put us on a flight four hours later, missing the family arrangement we were going to Turin for in the first place. The person at the desk we would be able to get monetary compensation for our trouble and we had to email customer service, in the meantime they gave us vouchers for a coffee and a sandwich - A COFFEE AND A SANDWICH in return for being four hours late. They even refused to let us in their lounge. I got a response saying they would not do anything as it wasn't their fault. I pointed out that it was a connecting flight, both flights being Lufthansa. They replied with a curt fashion and said thanks for my understanding. I told them that there was no need to thank me for my understanding as I had none and they had ruined my travel plans and, since their customer service centre told me they would be paying compensation, they should pay up. I was told they would not be. I have been treated with absolute contempt from these horrible people and I will never choose to fly with them again. read more

This is my favorite airport in the world. And Lufthansa is by far the most helpful & professional of airlines! Our flight from Rome was delayed so we cannot get back to USA til tomorrow, & they put us into the Sheraton in the airport. This is so civilized! The poor customer service rep was overwhelmed by the almost 100 passengers who did not make their connections yet she was kind, patient, professional. This is how airlines should be run! Thank you, Lufthansa! read more

Terrible, terrible - do not fly lufthansa. They have the worst customer service at the desk in the airport and do not accommodate you even if you have a dire need to sit in a window or roomy seat. I'm traveling today on an emergency and I had already paid an additional $1,050 to travel on an emergency and I tried to explain to the lady at the gate counter - in vain. She would not understand or try to help me. I have terrible foot edema in one foot and it is really uncomfortable when I travel. Every other airline accommodated me except for Lufthansa. It was a mean and cold experience. I am never flying this airline again. TERRIBLE read more

We used Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Orlando round trip and it had to be the worst or should I say Wurst flights every! We will never fly with this airline again and will tell our customers that Delta would be a much better option. Horrible check in procedures, bad food. hard seats, less leg room that most airlines, and a very dirty plane. read more

Lufthansa, Your outstanding service did it again! Lufthansa, you are the best airline in the world. You treat your customers very well. Your flight attendants are the best and so sweet and caring. There is hardly a time where they don't have a smile! I have never had a bad flight with this airline. Business class on the 747-400 ( retrofitted) and the 747-8i has to be the best. or one of the best. This is my favourite airline after SWISS. I'll have to write about them next. The food is good ( a bit heavy ) but still it is delicious. Whenever i get a chance. I'd fly with them again. But they do need to lower their prices because i know Business class is 2,000 dollars pp. usually. Expensive! Hey, it's worth the price. Vielen dank Lufthansa für deine freundlich Flugbegleiter und tolles Service. #nonstopyou read more

I have had good experiences from Lufthansa arriving/leaving out of Dulles Airport. All of my experiences weren't 5 star but I didn't come back complaining about something that went wrong. This time I got tickets through United and well I didn't mind flying either United or Lufthansa but because the service is generally better on European/Asian airlines I chose Lufthansa. The plane was a newer/bigger plane and I'm not entirely fond of the 3-4-3 configuration but the seats were comfortable. Economy plus gets you a long way for those that don't like to push extra money. Our flight was smooth and we arrived on time the staff/flight attendants were helpful and friendly. The food was tolerable - not that great but I didn't get sick and there were good amount of options for things to drink, less for wine. Overall I've enjoyed my flights with Lufthansa. read more

Hands down the WORST airline experience I have ever had. Absolutely despicable customer service over and over again. Canceled flight with no warning and no offer to refund what I paid for it. Customer service is still giving me the run around THREE WEEKS later. ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC. Will NEVER FLY with these jerks again and will make sure every single person I come in contact with that travels will hear my story. These people should not be allowed to operate a business. The short truth is that Lufthansa genuinely does not care about its customers and their experience. They will take your money, keep it when you do not get the service and will treat you like a less-than-human the whole time. Traveling is stressful enough. Learn from my mistakes and do not choose to fly with this airline. This is the detailed version of what happened: I had a business trip booked taking me from SFO to Frankfurt and then on to Verona. Because of a co-workers diligence in checking on things we found out that my second flight had been canceled due to the strikes. Lufthansa gave me NO notification of this. Thank god for the diligence of my co-worker. When I arrived to SFO to check in for the first leg of my journey I went to the counter to see what could be done about the canceled flight. Despite my pleasant attitude when I approached the desk (I understand strikes, I have a lot of European friends) I was received by the most horrible woman I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. She told me she could help me with nothing and I had to call to re-book. I let her know that I had been trying to call since I woke up and that the lines were so busy they would not even ring through. She had no response to that and just stood there glaring at me. When I realized I was going to get nowhere on that issue I moved on to my second question about possibly paying to upgrade to a slightly better seat on my first flight. She replied in the snottiest tone possible "Yeah, for $900 dollars." At that point I just gathered up my things, said thank you and walked away. That woman alone was enough for me to never want to deal with this airline again. It would be one thing if I was unpleasant when I approached her, but I was not. I have worked in customer service a lot and I know that these people have no control over these situations and are just the messengers. They do have control over their attitudes though! I never was able to get through to re-book anything and ended up buying a $275 train ticket and taking 9 hours of train rides to get to my destination, replacing my 1 hour flight. Once I was at my destination I borrowed the phone of a co-worker that had a good international plan and called to see what would be done about issuing me a refund, etc. A VERY rude person answered and told me I had to email customer relations. Ok. I emailed. I heard nothing. Seven days later I followed up, only to get a reply that proved the agent writing had not even read my initial request of a few lines. I wrote back to clarify. Days. Again, a reply not answering my question. I clarified. Days. Another email, this time about my return trip and how I am in the wrong because they booked a hotel for me, etc. for my messed up journey back. (Oh, did I mention they completely messed up my return trip in the mean time and I was stuck in Germany for 17 hours?!) I wrote back again to clarify that I was not talking about my return trip, but as my initial inquiry clearly stated was asking about my trip going over and being refunded for a flight they canceled. I am STILL WAITING. Other fun notes: -$35 to be able to select a seat? Come on! -Delayed flights first thing in the morning -Very expensive flights for horrible service -Terrible customer service when my Father called to find out the status of my flight when the Lufthansa website did not update. Given that they had just lost a plane in a crash and everyone perished you would think they would have at least been more helpful in that moment. Nope! Shame on you Lufthansa. read more

To: Carsten Spohr CEO Von-Gablenz-Straße 2-6 50679 Köln, Germany Dear Mr. Spohr, On July 3, 2016, I sent the first letter by email to you, Mr. Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa. In this letter I asked you to make sure that my return ticket to ... is not cancelled because I was not able to return to ... on March 30, 2016 because of my medical condition. Currently I am still in rehabilitation in two hospitals here in Toronto, Canada in order to recover from my brain injury and brain operation that followed. For some unexplainable reason, the response that came from you indicated that you could not find my name in the passengers' list of the flights I took with your airline even though I have provided you with my full first and last name, the flights dates, and the flights numbers. I must say that in this time of terrorism, it is worrisome that you were not able to find me in the list of the passengers. Today (July 22, 2016) at 5:00pm I called the Lufthansa Reservations Centre of Peterborough Ontario Canada. The phone number I called was 1-800-563-5954 and I spoke with ... (agent sign: ..., location call centre: ...). I gave him my full first and last name, the flights dates, and the flights numbers. I asked him to give me my flight ticket number based on the information that I provided him. He could not find my name in the passenger lists of these flights. He was able to find out that I have been on these flights only after I actually provided him with my ticket number. Lufthansa is the largest airline in Europe. It is truly very disturbing to find out that safety concerns are not on the top of the list of Lufthansa. In addition, there was a delay of the flight from Frankfurt to Toronto due to mechanical problems with the airplane. I had to stay overnight in Frankfurt before continuing my journey to Toronto while I was after brain injury and in need of medical attention. In addition, when I called the Lufthansa Reservations Centre of Peterborough Ontario Canada before my return flight to ... which was scheduled for March 30, 2016, they were rude when I asked them to postpone my flight back to ... because all my doctors in Canada advised me to continue with treatment for rehabilitation before I return to ... I did not have the strength at the time to argue with the people of Lufthansa Reservations Centre. In addition, after a few reminders from me by email, you responded to my request by asking me for information stating that you could not find me in the passengers list of flight ... that left ... to Frankfurt on February 23, 2016 and you could not find my name on the passenger list of the flight that left to Toronto from Frankfurt. You asked me to provide you with my ticket number or the reservation code. On July 15, 2016 I sent you my Lufthansa itinerary which includes the booking reference and the ticket number and my boarding ticket from Frankfurt to Toronto which includes the ticket number. I have not heard from you yet despite the fact that I have sent you several reminders. In addition, as I have stated previously in my two letters to you, I will provide you with all necessary medical documentation from my doctors in Canada and in ... I think that any other airline would have postponed my flight due to my serious medical condition and given all the difficulties that your airline has caused me, I would expect a compensation too. I look forward to your response soon. Yours truly, I received a response from Lufthansa a month later saying that I have to pay $600 for my return (the round trip ticket cost me $700). I will take them to court. read more

If you need to reach Lufthansa, their main customer service numbers are +44 (800) 652-9732™. They are available 24/7 for booking flights, making changes, or getting any kind of support. You can easily use these numbers from anywhere in the UK to manage your reservations. Also, just a quick tip: if you need to cancel your booking, you can get a full refund as long as you do it within 24 hours of booking and your flight is at least 7 days away. I recently flew with Lufthansa and got to experience their different cabins. Honestly, their Economy is pretty decent if you just want a standard, budget-friendly flight with good entertainment. But if you can, upgrading to Premium Economy is totally worth it for the extra legroom, wider seats, and better food. Now, if you are looking to splurge, their Business Class (Club World) is next level--the lounge access is amazing, the seats lie completely flat so you can actually sleep, and the meals are great. Across the board, the crew was super friendly and helpful. Definitely a solid choice no matter which class you fly. 1. Seamless Reservations & Elite Travel Planning The Lufthansa journey begins with a booking process designed entirely around flexibility and efficiency. Passengers securing a Business Class (Club World) ticket are met with premium seating choices, priority benefits, and highly adaptable itinerary options. The booking system handles flight schedules, traveler details, and seating preferences effortlessly, delivering an instant, well-organized itinerary that ensures peace of mind right from the start. 2. Priority Ground Experience & Exclusive Lounge Access Flying premium completely redefines the time spent at the airport, replacing long queues with absolute comfort. Dedicated check-in desks ensure a swift arrival at the terminal, while fast-track security lanes offer a smooth, expedited path straight to the departure gates. Once past security, passengers gain access to exclusive airport lounges--elegant spaces featuring comfortable seating, complimentary refreshments, quiet workspaces, and a peaceful atmosphere to unwind before the flight. Priority boarding caps off the ground experience, allowing travelers to step onto the aircraft early and settle in without any rush. 3. Sophisticated Cabin Comfort & Signature Hospitality Once on board, the premium cabin environment showcases a dedication to comfort, privacy, and impeccable service. The spacious seating layout offers generous legroom and clever design touches, creating a perfect space for both getting work done or getting a good night's sleep. The cabin is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and quiet refinement. Throughout the journey, the highly professional cabin crew delivers attentive, courteous, and personalized service, ensuring every passenger feels genuinely valued. 4. Refined Arrival Services & End-to-End Excellence The premium treatment doesn't stop when the wheels touch the ground. Upon arrival, priority baggage handling ensures that your luggage is among the first on the carousel, letting you exit the airport and get on with your day without unnecessary delays. From the moment you book your ticket to the time you collect your bags at your final destination, Lufthansa coordinates every detail to deliver a seamless, sophisticated, and deeply satisfying travel experience. read more

The official 'customer service **Lufthansa** (toll-free) number is **1 (888) 305-4803™ or +1 (888)~305~4803** for additional assistance. Support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for passengers needing help with reservations, flight changes, cancellations, rebooking, baggage inquiries, refunds, and other travel-related concerns. The customer service team assists travelers with managing existing bookings, updating itineraries, exploring alternative travel options, and addressing questions throughout the travel process. As an Emerald member with the oneworld alliance, I have always received complimentary seat selection on partner airlines. Unfortunately, this Southwest Airlines experience fell short of expectations. I paid an extra **$140** for seats that appeared to offer a better arrangement during the booking process. However, after my wife and I boarded the aircraft, we realized the seating layout differed from what had been displayed at purchase. Paying additional fees only to encounter an uncomfortable seating situation was disappointing. My assigned seat, **6K**, lacked adequate cushioning, making the journey more uncomfortable than expected. I relied on extra pillows and blankets for lower back support throughout much of the flight. On longer trips, seat comfort can make a significant difference in the overall passenger experience. The customer service process proved equally frustrating. I first contacted an agent in Detroit seeking clarification regarding my flight details and aircraft information. I was then transferred to another department, believed to be located in Chicago, where I was informed they could not assist and was given yet another number to call. That representative ultimately redirected me back to the original Detroit contact. Only after several calls and repeated explanations did an agent finally provide the information I had requested from the start. After boarding, I found the aircraft itself attractive and well-maintained, and most of the flight attendants appeared hardworking and professional despite managing a busy cabin. However, the overall environment deteriorated as the flight progressed. A number of passengers were noisy and inconsiderate, and the lavatories became increasingly untidy within a few hours, with wet floors and sinks requiring attention. Although the cabin crew deserved recognition for their efforts and professionalism, the inconsistent customer service, uncomfortable seating experience, and declining cleanliness ultimately overshadowed the positives. The main 24/7 "customer service" number for "Airlines" is * *(+1) 866_(645)_O2O8 ™®, ensuring smooth and responsive support for all travel needs. This (toll-free) customer service line, open 24 hours, helps you connect with a (live agent) to get reservation support, manage bookings, process cancellations, request refunds, and handle baggage inquiries efficiently. From booking the ticket to collecting my baggage at the destination, the process felt organized and passenger-friendly. The ticket was booked online a few days before departure. The website was easy to navigate, and all important details such as flight schedule, fare summary, baggage allowance, and seat selection were clearly mentioned. The payment process was quick, and I received confirmation immediately, which gave me confidence that everything was properly arranged. On the day of travel, I completed web check-in to avoid waiting in long lines. At the airport, the ground staff were polite and professional while assisting passengers. They managed the counters efficiently and handled queries calmly. Boarding was announced clearly and carried out in an orderly manner. The flight departed close to its scheduled time, which made the experience more convenient. Inside the aircraft, the cabin was clean and well maintained. The seating was comfortable for an economy-class flight, and the leg space was reasonable. The cabin environment felt calm throughout the journey. The crew members were friendly, attentive, and professional. They responded quickly whenever assistance was required and ensured passengers were comfortable. In-flight service was satisfactory. Meals and beverages were served on time, and the quality was decent. Safety instructions were explained clearly before takeoff, and the crew ensured all guidelines were followed properly. Their communication was polite and reassuring, which added to the overall positive experience. The landing was smooth, and the arrival procedures were handled efficiently. Disembarkation was managed properly, and baggage delivery was timely. My luggage arrived safely without any damage or delay. Overall, the journey was comfortable and hassle-free. While there is always room for minor improvements, such as additional entertainment options or expanded meal choices, the overall service quality was reliable. Dear Lufthansa Team, I am writing to you with deep disappointment and frustration regarding my recent experience as a passenger of your airline. It is imperative that I convey my utter displeasure and make you fully aware of the extent of my dissatisfaction. Let me start by pointing out the absolute lack of respect and consideration towards your customers when it comes to your customer service. Waiting for endless hours to receive a response, only to be greeted by apathetic and incompetent staff, is simply unacceptable. Your telephone line seems to be nothing but a façade, as I never managed to obtain a satisfactory solution to my issues. Furthermore, it is outrageous that your refund policy is nothing short of a mockery to passengers. How dare you withhold a portion of the money that rightfully belongs to us when you are the ones responsible for flight changes? Your lack of transparency and your miserly approach instead of guaranteeing a full refund demonstrate a complete lack of business ethics. As if that weren't enough, I am deeply frustrated by the lack of direct and professional communication with your representatives. A call center in India? Do you honestly believe that is sufficient to provide quality service? As a passenger, I expected personalized treatment and proper attention from the airline, not to be treated as just another number in your deficient customer service system. I demand that you take these complaints seriously and take immediate steps to improve your customer service. As a renowned airline, you should be ashamed of how you treat your customers. Review your policies, train your staff, and provide swift and fair solutions to the issues that arise during flights. As a consumer, I have the right to expect quality service and a satisfactory experience. If Lufthansa cannot meet these basic expectations, then it does not deserve the loyalty of passengers. I am determined to share my negative experience with fellow travelers on any available platform to warn them about the hardships they will face if they choose to fly with your airline. I sincerely hope that you take my concerns seriously and work diligently to rectify these severe deficiencies in your service. Customer satisfaction should be your number one priority, and until you demonstrate genuine change, I will vehemently refuse to consider Lufthansa as a viable option for future travel. Yours sincerely, Freddy N read more

Extremely Disappointing Customer Service Experience I had an unfortunate encounter with Lufthansa's customer service, which significantly marred my overall experience. I want to highlight that this review pertains specifically to their call center and counter customer service, not their in-flight service. Here's the sequence of events that transpired: 1. Failed Online Booking: When attempting to purchase two tickets on their website, the site froze upon clicking "purchase." No success page was displayed. 2. Immediate Contact: In response, I promptly called the airline to clarify the situation. They assured me that no flights had been booked. 3. Successful Booking on Expedia: To secure our travel, we successfully purchased the tickets through Expedia. 4. Unexpected Charge: Shockingly, a week later, an unexplained charge of $3500 appeared on our credit card from the initial unsuccessful Lufthansa booking. 5. Unhelpful Customer Service: Contacting Lufthansa, I was informed that it was too late to cancel the flight. Despite our numerous attempts to resolve the issue, the customer service representatives seemed uninterested in assisting, consistently deflecting responsibility. 6. Disputed Charge: We sought resolution through Amex, but our efforts were futile due to a lack of proof for the original call. 7. Airport Frustration: Upon arrival at the airport, we encountered further frustration. Lufthansa's representatives continued evading responsibility, resulting in wasted time and no resolution. 8. Traveling with Extra Seats: Ultimately, my wife and I were left traveling with four seats, a predicament that was entirely avoidable. In retrospect, it is evident that Lufthansa's customer service approach is deeply flawed. Their apparent lack of concern for the considerable inconvenience and financial burden placed on customers raises serious questions about their commitment to providing satisfactory service. Regrettably, this ordeal has left an indelible mark on our perception of Lufthansa. We unequivocally will not consider flying with them again in the future. Disheartened and Disillusioned, Luke B. read more
